I noticed a funny thing in the Lord of the Rings; the Valar really crushed Morgoth in the War of the Jewels, why did they not come back and do the same to Sauron?

If this topic is already covered, I will be happy to let a moderator close it as soon as possible, but if not, I would like to hear your side of things, guys.
