Recently I stumbled on a poll on a non-Tolkien forum which asked where people would like to live in Middle-Earth, and it gave me an idea. We could auction off Middle-Earth. People can bid with silver pennies.

Okay, first up: Rivendell. We'll start the bidding at three thousand silver pennies.

Really, a thread full of people shouting ever higher sums of silver pennies sounds cheap to me.
