I`d just like to say happy b-day to my heroes. (yes, I am obsessed)

I was just wondering if anyone was doing anything to celebrate? I would be, but I no longer live near my friends. So, instead I just wrote Frodo Lives on my hand (confuses people alot, I must say), and later I`ll read one of my LotR books, or watch one of the movies. I not doing much. Any body else? ;)

Happy birthday, Frodo and Bilbo!

I usually bake a cake on occasions such as this, but sadly I have a mind like a sieve with larger holes than it should have, and I forgot it was their birthday at all. Actually I tend to remember for about a week, up until the day before, then forget on the actual day.

Maybe I'll bake a cake tomorrow.

I am also having a quiet evening... most of my Tolkien-allies live long distance.

Nimrodel_9, I like your name and your sig, by the way. Now all you need is a matching avatar.

Yes, Happy Birthday heroes of the Shire! This doesn't really count, but to celebrate, I bought a copy of the Sillymarillion :D

I too wrote on my hand! Yay! It said "Happy Birthday Bilbo & Frodo" with the three Tehtar dots over the a's (just for kicks ;) ), but that's about it. I suggested to my friend today that we have a Long-Expected Party, but that was a bit impossible seeing as it was 3 PM at the time... it wouldn't have ended up being very long-expected at all. So nothing really happened. Oh well, I'll celebrate mentally.

Check out this (http://forum.barrowdowns.com/showthread.php?t=2323) thread for more info on the birthdays!

Well I celebrated by watching TTT for the first time (believe it or not). I was so excited about it I almost forgot to check the BD and almost missed this thread, but not quite and a great big happy birthday to our hobbit friends! :)

Hmmm, I for one can't believe this. I watched TTT too yesterday, but only for the 20+ time... :D

Carnimirie, you hadn`t seen TTT until just now? I`m sorry! Though the book was much better I still loved the movie. I own it and have watched it atleast 50 times. ;)

'Tis the truth, alas. But I plan on seeing it many, many more times.

Why do I have a feeling that this thread will be closed...

Being a man that works for a fireworks company, I'm sorry I didn't shoot off any fireworks yesterday. However, there was this one wierd customer big grey beard, pointy blue hat, came in and bought about 6,000 dollars worth of firewords...don't ask why.

Yes, Carnimirie, I think this thread will be closed.

Getting off topic (again), but what special things do you all do to celebrate the Professor`s b-day?

Well, the last few years I've been drinking white wine on his birthday and toasting to him. I don't do it alone, in case you wonder at my sanity :D ... yes, the last year was the famous 111 age, which was very celebrated.

Sad to say that there is a fair chance that I drink wine on everybody's birthday (unless it falls during lent), but I did raise a special glass for eleventy one last year... sad to say it was not Old winyards..
