On this thread, I would like to take the LOTR characters (could be Sil, or any other Tolkien work as well), and match them with an actor (someone who already hasn't played that person), some person back in history, a politician, just pretty much somebody famous so we know who he is. If you're confused here's some examples.

Legolas- Micheal Jackson
Denethor- Al Capone (See "A futuristic LOTR" thread for an explanation)
Boromir- Elvis Presley (Staying Alive! Staying alive!)-P.S. I hope Elvis is disco, lol.
Elrond- Agent Smith.

Hope you get the idea, and this is the ONLY wrong way you can do it. You can't say somebody who played that character in the movies, for example.

Merry-Dominic Monaghan

No, Morgy! Johnny Depp is Daeron!

Legolas- Micheal Jackson

*shudders in horror and tries to scrub away mental image*

Nah, I can't see him as Daeron, doesn't quite fit with my mental image. Can definately see him as Feanor, dunno why, but I can.

Pippin-Gilbert Godfrey (sp), for those of you who know who Godfrey is :p.

Gah! *falls over* I really can't see that...

Elrond = David Bowie (see Crazy Scenes thread :D)
Maglor = Agent Dafydd (and visa versa! ^_^)

And I'll agree with Morgy. I can definitely see Johnny Depp as Feanor. *nod nod*

Gimli: Brian Blessed. I know what you're thinking...but JRD is pretty tall, too.

Treebeard: Hayden Christenson. Insert your own wooden acting joke here.

Arwen: Keira Knightley. To be honest, any excuse.

Legolas: Will Smith. Just to see people trying to justify any objections would have been worth it.

Denethor: Liberace. Well, they were both flaming.

I must say I think Micheal Jackson is more suited for Grima, then Legolas. I just thought hey Legolas I imagine as pale, he sings, so is Micheal, there we go. But now that I think about it Grima is quite pale, he might be able to sing, and need I go on.

Maglor = Agent Dafydd (and visa versa! ^_^)

Oh, that's cheating!

[Well, it would be perfect, you have to admit.]

Yeah, he's gorgeous...*happy sigh* Doubt he'd do it, though...

[We could bribe him...threaten to let the Feegles loose on him, or something.]

That could work...just might, actually.

[*Agent Darkling grins evilly* Oh, Rob Annnnnnybooooody!]

Oh, that's cheating!

Yeah, I know. :D

[Well, it would be perfect, you have to admit.]

Yes, it is. :D

[Oh, indeed, indeed. *Agent Takua grins*]

Grima - Marty Feldman (If you've seen Young Frankenstein you should get this...)

Explaination for those confused by Saph and I. The words inside the square brackets like...

[Stop poking me! I'm perfectly capable of taking my own cues, thankyouverymuch!]

...are our Agents from the PPC. My Agent is Agent Darkling...

[And don't forget it!]

...while the Saph-meister's is Agent Takua.

Back on topic:

Glorfindel - Bowie

Grima - Marilyn Manson

Denethor - Terry Pratchett. Can't you just see it? That cute little accent of his and him trying to look scary and powerful! *giggles*

Oh, definitely Treebeard as Haydn Christiansen. V. insightful, Rimbaud! =D

Aragorn as Van Helsing (the Hugh Jackman one, not the Anthony Hopkins one)--with sidekick David Wenham.

Speaking of which, Arwen as Kate Beckinsale. Am seeing more relationships than I care to. *vomits*

I have to say that Michael Jackson would make a better Gollum. Think about it. "Gives us the precious, woo hoo!" Gollum moonwalking. Yeah. He really wouldn't need too much makeup. *Hides from Michael Jackson fans*

Arwen could be Barbie.

That's an oxymoron, isn't it?

These are all..... interesting ideas. Allow me to contribute my own. Drew Carrey as Samwise Gamgee and Billy Crystal as Frodo. What a team they would make. haha Classic.
