View Full Version : Duos of....potential doom?

This came, as my teacher would say, as a "Brain Fart".

Who would you say would be the funniset, most evil, most faulty duos of the downsers be? it can be any downs member with their personality that you think would be hillaurious together?

hopefully it won't get chopped up to the closing bin, more or less following HI's path...

1. Barrowight and myself - this would be the most disatrous thing if me and the Barrowight were stuck together...i would go on with crazy puns and Mr.Wight would plan a dastardly plan while reading Opus to probaly shut me up somewhere...while i shoot nerf rockets at him for funny laughs...

have fun!

Burrahobbit coupled with... any newbie. *grin*

Or how about, in the spirit of mischief making, the phantom and myself.

of course their is Estelyn and any newbie as well, Estylen always giving a helping hand...

the phantom

Davem and any female Downer (the unfortunate lady wouldn't last long, Lalwende would kill her :p )

The riders of Rohaan and Fea (riders made the infamous "I am drooling" post on a thread that has since been closed).

THE Ka and Neithan, a bad match due to political and economic philosophies
the phantom and any newbie
Am I that scary?
the phantom and myself
How self-promotional of you, Fea.

And how very right. :D

(but we'd have to keep it hush-hush, or else everyone would start being mean due to extreme jealousy)

Davem and any female Downer (the unfortunate lady wouldn't last long, Lalwende would kill her )

Ah yes, but then the long forgotten spiders would come out before this eventuality came to pass...

It may indeed look to the outside world to be evil here, with the room wreathed in smoke, but we only argue about the correct numbering of volumes of HoME. :p

Here goes nothing.

Nimrodel_9: Especially on Crazy Captions. A Very witty fellow.
And
Gil-Gallad: When not too silly, can be a damned funny guy.

But posibly,
the phantom: Wit and sophistication, good combination.

I'll think of more lately, but till next time folks...

The riders of Rohaan and Fea (riders made the infamous "I am drooling" post on a thread that has since been closed). You understand, dear phantom, that I just choked and accidentally spat a large mouthful of orange gatorade into my hand ? A pair indeed, as he would have to hope for his life. I'm generally bad at tolerating fools. The answer remains too young, surrounded by protective older brother types (even more, these days), as well as aspiring suitors, and beyond uninterested. And might I remind you that that incident was your fault?

How self-promotional of you, Fea.
I'm sorry. Were you under the impression that I need your help to be the best? And here I thought it was the other way around. ;)

And how very right.
I usually am.

Oh yes, and here is another comic pairing:

Inktomi Slurp Spider and Baidu Bot Spider. Presumably their alter-egos have similar mindsets, and so I imagine the two would get on rather well and spend all kinds of time causing mostly harmless mischief.

Wit and Sosphistication....aye good combo...epecially if you can picture me and the Phantom back-to-back fighting off hordes of robot zombies with hats...yeah i've lost all interest...

"Bears" come to mind . . . ;)

I would have to say me and the Phantom. (I'm sorry, Phantom! Please don't hurt me!) But seriously, As you can tell by my slightly off posts (mentally) and eccentricness (is that a word?), and the Phantom's seriousness and my goofiness, it would be a quite amusing pair. I can see it now: we are fighting off Orcs and Trolls, and I am happily picking flowers. Or singing "In Dreams" while doing Baton routines with my sword. :D (I sure like parenthesis, don't I?)

I'm not sure about the shelf-life of this thread but....

....I'll pick davem and Saucy, when you throw in a dash of alcohol and the topic of Peter Jackson's films! :D

SacuePanMAn and me...not a bad combo but not productive him and his cryptic clues me with my nearly endless list of guesses

Nilpaurion Felagund and myself. Couldn't be much more explosive around here than that, in my opinion... ;)

Larien Telemnar

Weel I'm new here and don't know anyone that well yet, but as soon as I do I'll try to think up some. Until then, I shall read this thread with interest. By the way, what's the significance of "I am drooling"? The Hobbit ish verrah curious! :D

Feanor of the Peredhil
06-21-2005, 11:56 AM
Larien: by no means significant, "I am drooling" was part of an inappropriate and highly annoying post by a new member that was directed toward me. The situation was swiftly dealt with, which is why most members don't even remember it.

And.. can we do trios of potential doom? Because I can't help but think that Saucie wouldn't be able to spend more than a few seconds in the company of myself and the phantom. ;) Actually, I think he might be surprised... but that's besides the point, since his finger is poised over a trigger just about now.

Aaaaah, Fea, those were the good ol' days... ;)

Because I can't help but think that Saucie wouldn't be able to spend more than a few seconds in the company of myself and the phantom. From what I hear, er, see, in Storyland...nobody would last a second with the phantom and you without earplugs. :D

Me and Fea are rather scary in combination. Ask Elempi

Valier

hhhmmmmm.... I will have to say a good team would be myself and Rune....Since I am trying to stalk him:rolleyes: Ha Ha We would be volitile at the least. Also Anguirel and I make a good team! We have been wolves together and did a real bang up job.:D

Roa_Aoife
04-12-2006, 11:11 AM
Two that I fear to ever see in tandem....

SPM and Fordim! Throw in Hookbill, and we'd all be doomed! Doomed I tell you! DOOMED!

Jenny and Glirdy, thre old stalking buddies

Frodo Baggins
04-12-2006, 06:26 PM
I'd have to say...myself and Burrahobbit because we detest each other and each other's worldviews. In short we don't get along together.

Or maybe my self and any Noob who starts to talke about how hot Legoas is, then I just wanna rip off their bubbley fangirl heads.

SPM and Hookbill are rather a bad pair as well since they are both caustic wits who ofen end up on opposing sides of the argumet. :smokin:

JennyHallu
04-12-2006, 07:39 PM
Stalking? Me?

What would make you think I was stalking anyone?

*surreptitiously hides notebooks filled with personal information on BDers*

I'm not stalking anyone...

:D

THE Ka

THE Ka and Neithan, a bad match due to political and economic philosophies

Oh, but that was so long ago my dear!

Besides, as wonderful Machiavelli did say to me once:

' I know they play horrible poker, and their tastes are slightly odd, but dear, keep your friends close, but your enemies closer.'

'Tis life, everyone plays slyly, and whitewashes when they try to, but, remember now the joys Camus brought us. You can try to die all at once in the face of horrible truths of human nature ( As such Hamlet was consumed with such utter horror and overcome by), or you can learn from the experiences of life and go on and such forth, ect.

Al right, I'm going to end my rant now before another thesis paper appears this month...

Jenny and Glirdy, thre old stalking buddies(Gil)

That is rather scary...

But I think a combo you all would like to avoid would be Wilwa and myself. Ask Wayne and Lote for reasons why. ;)

I also see tp and Gil as a potential problem...

Gil-Galad
04-12-2006, 08:24 PM
keep in mind Glirdy it is Duos of Potential Doom so any duos, whether bad or good, are welcome here.

Roa_Aoife
04-12-2006, 08:32 PM
We probably shouldn't let Wayne, Wilwa, and Lote work together. I mean, Tolkien has shown us the power of siblings working as a team. Feanor's sons, anyone? Let's avoid one of those...

Diamond18
04-12-2006, 08:37 PM
What kind of duos are we talking about here? IE, what purpose would this coupling serve?

Romantic?

Werewolvian?

Political? (President, Vice President, for example)

Or, in a slightly similar vein, Administrative? (Co-modding a forum)

Adventuresome? (Some have mentioned fighting off orcs and trolls together)

For instance, a political pairing of the phantom and The Saucepan Man would cause mayhem and possibly an assassination or two. As partners in Wolfishness they might be a formidable team. Romantically, um, uh, excuse me I have to go gouge out my mind's eye. :p

What about Tolkien character duos, by the way? Don't we all want to see Eowyn and Grishnakh having a romantic picnic by the lake? Or Pippin acting as Gandalf's Vice President? :D

Oh, and then there's the ever fun game of "What If They Mated?" Imagine the child of Luthien and Morgoth. Oh wait! That's been done. (http://forum.barrowdowns.com/showthread.php?t=1042) ;)

Eonwe

Me and Farael. One of us would end up hanged! ;) :) We should have had a little side story deal where we killed eachother! :smokin: Just kidding!

I just recently thought of this:

Me and Nogrod, in any Werewolf game, on any side, ever. Seriously, if we ever start to agree in that game, we'll be lynched on principle.

And a Trio of doom would emerge if Sleepy got thrown into the mix.

Duos of potential ww doom

Lhuna and Mac. 'Nuff said.

Kath and Diamond. I haven't yet quite forgotten the game you were the ranger and the hunter in... :p

I second Roa and Nogrod. But to make it more insane, don't add Sleepy, but Sauce. :D

Duos of potential survivor doom

Mormegil and any other 'downer. ;)

Heh.. heh heh... MWA HAHAHAHAHAHA! *runs off to PM Sauce and Nogrod with her plans of world domination*

Morm and Kath. Or Morm and SPM.

And Me and Diamond- the union would likely result in a nuclear explosion large enough to destroy the planet. ;) (Anyone know where she's been lately?)

On the Quiz Room front, Legate of Amon Lanc and The Might have basically tooken over most of the threads...

The Might

I'd nominate Estelyn and Guinevere for anything that has to do with Tolkien's "minor" works

Thenamir

If you were to somehow contain davem, raynor, and obloquy in a confined space, the resulting explosion could alter the Earth's orbit considerably. Tossing in Squatter as well might well reduce our Solar System to six planets.

Also, one disastrous duo is Hookbill and the Serious Cat. :D

Ooh no, most disastrous of all is Hookbill and a pound of cheese at suppertime. Now that would be frightening - especially when he typed up his spooky dreams next day!

Even worse would be your good self, Hookbill and a pound of cheese for supper. I'd be running round saying "Come back, Nostradamus, all is forgiven!"

Owing to the fact that overdiscussion and excessive nit-picking was the cause of that reclassification, that's exactly my point. :D

Of course it is, but your cheese-induced dreams not so long ago had me scared!

Squatter and Rimbaud, virtuosos of verbosity (http://forum.barrowdowns.com/showthread.php?p=417527#post417527).
