What do you think-was Legolas blond?
I think somewhere in the books Tolkien mentioned that he was dark-haired.

I don't think there is a definitive answer. The only refference I know of in LotR is somewhat questionable:
Frodo looked up at the Elf standing tall above him, as he gazed into the night, seeking a mark to shoot at. His head was dark, crowned with sharp white stars that glittered in the black pools of the sky behind.

I tend to declare him dark on the strength of that quotation and my own imagination (when I first read the books I was Legolas, as well as Faramir, and I'm dark.) Also, the Teleri mostly were dark.
But blonders argue that Thranduil the Elvenking, Legolas' father, is described as yellow haired in the Hobbit, and that when Frodo looked at Legolas it was nighttime.

This (http://forum.barrowdowns.com/showthread.php?t=10869) is the last thread to deal with this knotted issue. Saucy and Underhill combed through the forum for other related links and those are available over at the other thread.
I don't mean to give this thread the brush off, however.
