Seeing no overt disapproval of my stated theme, I've decided to go ahead and open signups for WW: Weres of Eire.
Post here if you'd like to sign up. There will be special roles in this game, as well as plain innocents. I'm looking for roughly sixteen or so players, but I can go higher if needed.
- Votes are retractable once per day.
- The person with the majority of votes on them at the end of the day will be executed.
- If there is a tie, all players with the same amount of votes on them will be executed. (I suggest you try not to let a triple-innocent-lynch happen again.)
- As to roles... I guess you'll just have to wait and see. ;) All I'll say for now is that innocents won't be completely defenseless.
(I hope you don't mind the shortened version of my signup list, but those accents stump me.)

3. Menel
4. Isabellkya
5. Rikae

Sign me in, please. :) My summer pause has been too long. *sharpens claws*

I'm joining in as well... It's a high time to stick into a game of werewolf once again.
I might try something different this time - in relation to my style of playing - but we'll see.

I'm signing up too. Of course, I'm probably just going to get lynched on Day 1 again, but still...

What are the rules going to be like? Retractable votes? Double lynchings? Will we know anything about the roles? Any specialities we will be aware of?

i would love to do this game, but with my game coming up right after i must get in the mindset for that so i will not be in this game... but i hope everyone will join mine after Shastas is complete

I shall sign up; under penalty of death. :P

I think I'll sign up as well. Only extremely distracting circumstances can keep me out of a WW game, and a new semester starting doesn't count as such.
:D

Wow, five signups already and all of them legends in their own right.
This game's going to be epic, I can feel it! :D
Brinniel

I'd really like to play...and with this particular title, I almost feel destined to. But with my sister's wedding only a week away, I'm going to be very busy...and if the game starts soon, there's no way I can join.
You can go ahead and put me down with a question mark, if you like. If signups are slow, I can play as long as the game doesn't start until the 26th or 27th. That doesn't seem very likely, but with eleven players still needed, there's always a chance...
Shastanis Althreduin
08-17-2007, 03:24 PM
Will do, Brinniel, and my thanks. :)
We still need more people!
I'm blaming Lommy for this ....
... I'm in. :D What style of game is this? Simple or hidden surprises?

Yay! :D I'm so glad you're in.
The "crew" is looking quite promising.

I've been wanting to get into another WW game, but depending on the starting date I may not be able to join. Put me down as a maybe in this game.

Why do I sense that an early demise might be on the cards this game? :p

I'll play, though I probably won't be able to post too often and too much, sorry.

Woo! Only need a few more now...
What style of game is this? Simple or hidden surprises?

Kath, you should have at least until Day One is over before feeling nervous, as I'm pretty much Mr. Cannonfodder around here these days.
Well stop looking so suspicious. :p But seriously don't worry about it. My first, ooh four or five games I was just cannon fodder every time (bar one notable exception). You'll break out the pattern soon I'm sure. :)

Yar, how I wished to play again, but school's starting soon and with it work and band. So I must pull my name from the list.

I'm sorry to hear that, Kitanna. :(

Well, the wedding's all over so I can play for now. But we better recruit people and get started fairly soon...if we don't start by this time next week, I'll have to back out again. I move back to Boston on the 7th and college move-ins can always be a bit busy...
Thinlómien
08-28-2007, 01:48 AM
But we better recruit people and get started fairly soon...I agree. Shasta, maybe you should pm invitations to people you know or like playing with?

Can Cailín and I sign up as one player? It will be revolutionary (also we'd not have to fight each other to discover any potentially furry secret). We'd use only one profile, unless you wanted things to get complicated.
We suppose Nilp played with split personalities, but that's slightly different.
Shastanis Althreduin
08-28-2007, 01:30 PM
That would be fine, Eomer, and I'll take the question mark off you, Brinn. I'll see what I can do about recruiting... the lack of interest is making me cry :(

see i am still tempted to join, but i can't guarantee alot of involvement mainly because of my work has me away 5 hours a day so i would really only have like 4-5 hours of time that i could come on... don't worry i can still be a mod but as a player i am definately going to be rather absent
Shastanis Althreduin
08-31-2007, 12:16 PM
All right.
Seeing as how no one's going to sign up, and one of my players will have to leave if I don't get the game started soonish, I've decided, barring any last minute signups, to start this game on Saturday, September 1st, about 7:00 PM CST. I'm not sure what that is in GMT, but I will be starting it. Get your signups in now if you want a role!
Thinlómien
08-31-2007, 12:29 PM
CST is GMT -6.
So it's 1 am GMT and 4am for me and Noggie. Alright.
Oh, it feels like I had forgotten how to play this game... Let's hope not... *sharpens claws* ;)
Meneltarmacil
08-31-2007, 12:54 PM
Gah! I'm leaving for a trip on Saturday and won't be back until Monday. I didn't mention this earlier because I thought we were still going to wait for more people.
If it does start then, I'll miss Night 1, Day 1, and part of Night 2. I suppose I could get by alright, though.
Thinlómien
08-31-2007, 12:57 PM
Well, you're only going to be missing Day1 so surely that shouldn't be a big problem... And seeing your siggy that might be just okay for you... :p ;)
Brinniel
08-31-2007, 02:11 PM
Tomorrow? Sounds good...I don't think I would be able to start any later. Considering our small amount of players I'm guessing this game won't be a long one...which is fine by me considering my schedule. But just in case, I will warn everyone that I'll be gone on the 7th and most likely the 8th. And I can't promise a lot of activity from me on the 6th and 9th, though I will be around. Once again...college move-ins are stressful...
But what am I saying? With my luck, I should be dead by Day 2 anyways. ;)
Shasta, have you PMed any members? That usually seems to get at least one or two additional players...
Btw, are we starting with a Day or Night phase?
Meneltarmacil
08-31-2007, 05:25 PM
Well, it's possible there may be an Internet connection where I'm going, but don't count on it.

Hmm, my preference these days is for smaller games, so I'd like to sign up if it's not too late.
If my calculations are correct, we'll be starting at 2pm BST Saturday. Shasta, when are you sending the roles out and are we starting with a Day or Night phase?
Are we having roles? If so, I shall be an itinerant tarot card reader.

Go, go, go, go, go...
Shastanis Althreduin
09-01-2007, 02:19 AM
Glad to have you, SPM. ^^
I'll be sending the roles out an hour or two before the game starts, to give people a chance to familiarize themselves with their roles. Say 5:00 PM.
The game will start with a Day phase, Day 1.
Eomer of the Rohirrim
09-01-2007, 01:26 PM
Maybe roles should be limited, seeing as it is a small game. Small is good for us: it goes by quicker but it gives a better chance for all players to interact with each other.
Our character shall be a warrior of Finn, the famous Irish hero, who happens to have a personality disorder. Cue hilarity. :D
Looking forward to the game!
Brinniel
09-01-2007, 01:53 PM
The game will start with a Day phase, Day 1.
Curses! And I was hoping for a Night phase. But that's okay...you guys will just have to look for a very early vote from me (like five hours early), and I'll have to pray I don't get mauled for it.
Stupid work schedule...

09-04-2007, 06:05 PM
So, are all days only 23 1/2 hours, or...? Yes, I know Shasta is unfortunately absent right now.
Ah well.

As I warned you guys before, from this point forward, I really don't know how much time I will have. I need to pack a bunch of things, plus I must back up and reformat my computer (a quite frustrating process really) before I leave early Friday.
I will be around, I just can't promise tons of activity. We'll see...
Rikae
09-07-2007, 07:26 PM
Um, Shasta?
Are you around?
Shastanis Althreduin
09-07-2007, 07:32 PM
Yes, and I'm really sorry. My laptop battery ran out, and I had to run out and buy a new cord-thing that plugs into the wall.
Er ... Shasta? Is the Day going to end any time soon? It's just I want to go to bed but can't until I find out the ending! :D
Meneltarmacil
09-08-2007, 07:38 PM
It seems I have once again died early...
I'm guessing that Rikae killed me, either that or Isabellkya due to the "swallowed by the earth" description in Shasta's description, but I'd still like to know what happened there.
Shastanis Althreduin
09-09-2007, 12:43 AM
Why isn't anyone talking? T_T
Menel, Isabell killed you. :)
Isabellkya
09-09-2007, 12:57 AM
Yes, I did kill you Menel.
I was neutral, and would've won with any team; if I had survived. But alas it seemed everyone was off sleeping when I came back and switched votes.. haha.
I was surprised I lasted as long as I did. Great game everyone.
Edit.
As to why? No reason in particular really. :P
Cailín
09-09-2007, 06:29 AM
I am still unsure what has happened and who won and why. Perhaps the mod would care to enlighten us about all the vague, special roles? From what I gather, Rikae is tricksy, evil and mean (and wise to kill us off when she could).
:D
Yes, I really was playing. ;)
Rikae
09-09-2007, 07:04 AM
I won. It was basically a werebear-ish role, I think ...
here's the PM I got about my role:
You’re a Banshee, a mythical creature from Ireland’s past. Your scream is the herald of death. Each night, send me a name. You will scream for that person; two days later, they will die. As an example, you scream at Person A on Night One; they will die during Night Three. The first time you are attacked by a wolf, Ireland itself will protect you from death. You win if it becomes impossible for you to die; I.E. majority cannot be reached on you.
Rikae
09-09-2007, 07:06 AM
I'm really curious to know what Duralin's role was... Shasta just listed her among the innocents in the final narration...
Durelin
09-09-2007, 10:24 AM
You are a Leprechaun who’s lost all his gold! Well, not quite all. You seem to have held on to your lucky coin. It ought to be of some help in this situation. If you send me a name, you’ll flip the coin, and depending on what it lands on, should give you some kind of information, at least.
That was the PM I received. I had my doubts what side I was even supposed to be on, heh, but I assumed I was Seer-like (never played in a game with a Weaver, so I forgot about that role).
So, yes, basically I was a Weaver. And now I wonder how much good that would have done when it came to Isabellkya...and I guess Rikae and the wolves would have turned up as 'on the same side'? I could only see two sides of the game...but it seems like there were more.
I got only one Night to flip my coin - I chose Rikae and was told she was 'Tails'. I planned to flip my coin on Nogrod to next Night to find out whether a Wolf was Heads or Tails...
But noooo, you guys had to go and kill me... :p
Shastanis Althreduin
09-09-2007, 12:37 PM
Actually, Durelin, your role was more of a Seer-type role. If you had flipped a coin on an innocent, it would have landed on "Heads". Baddies were "Tails", and if you'd flipped your coin at Isabellkya, it would have landed on its side. :P
Shastanis Althreduin
09-09-2007, 12:45 PM
Okay, here's the roles.
Rikae - Banshee - OMT - delayed kills, starting Night 3.
Nogrod, Brinniel - Wolves - Baddie Team - standard nightkills.
Durelin - Leprechaun - Seer - saw the alignment of people.
Isabellkya - Spirit of Ireland - Neutral - could kill, dream, and protect, had to do all three before her powers recharged.
Everybody else was an ordo.
Game Log:
Day 1:
Nogrod (Werewolf) executed.
Night 1:
Brinniel (Werewolf) mauls Thinlomien (Ordo).
Rikae (Banshee) screams for Eolin (Ordo).
Isabellkya (Spirit) dreams of Espiem (Ordo).
Durelin (Leprechaun) dreams of Rikae (Banshee) - Tails.
Day 2:
Durelin (Leprechaun) executed.
Night 2:
Brinniel (Werewolf) mauls Espiem (Ordo).
Rikae (Banshee) screams for Isabellkya (Spirit).
Isabellkya (Spirit) kills Meneltarmacil (Ordo).
Day 3:
Brinniel (Werewolf) executed. Werewolves (Nogrod, Brinniel) defeated.
Night 3:
Rikae (Banshee) screams for Kath (Ordo).
Isabellkya (Spirit) protects herself.
Eolin (Ordo) dies of fright due to Rikae's (Banshee) Night 1 scream.
Day 4:
Isabellkya (Spirit) is executed. Rikae (Banshee) and Kath (Ordo) are left. Rikae (Banshee) wins, since there is no way to get a majority on her.

Sorry I haven't been able to do any sort of posting since the game has ended. My computer has been broken for a week and I just recently got hold of a rental.
First off, I want to apologise for my what I think was a below-average performance. I probably shouldn't have joined in the first place as I was so busy in RL getting ready to move...proves how addicted I really am. It's silly that it didn't occur to me I would end up as a werewolf, and even more, I didn't think I'd be the only werewolf throughout most of the game. When Nogrod was lynched and I was already heavily suspected, I realistically knew I wouldn't last long...I can play well under-the-radar, but once suspicious I've never been good at digging myself out of a hole. But I fought to survive during what time I had, mostly because I wanted to prevent the game from ending too soon (while I figured early on there was a banshee somewhere, I assumed she was on the villagers' side...I was quite surprised that the game didn't end after my death). After my almost-lynch, I figured I'd most likely be lynched, but I didn't intend to give up just yet. Then Rikae revealed herself as the weaver and along with everyone else, I believed her since she was right on target...at that point there really was no hope for me. Anyways, it is a good thing I died that Day because not only did I hop on a plane the next day, but my computer broke that night and even if alive, I wouldn't have been able to participate. Ah, fate.
I was rather disappointed I never had the chance to interact with Nogrod. In my opinion, it's the Night plotting that's the best part of being a werewolf. Not to mention, I'm probably one of the most indecisive people ever, so being completely on my own from Night 1 wasn't easy.
Night 1
Lommy was chosen mainly due to process of elimination. Izzy, Menel, and Durelin seemed too safe at the time and I was worried it'd be very much like me to pull a safe kill. Eolin caused enough confusion in Day One, I thought it'd be smart to keep them around. Spm gathered some suspicion and I wanted to use that into Day Two. I was hoping Rikae's vote would gather some attention the next Day. Though Kath was dangerous to keep alive, with her being so accurate, I thought it'd be just as dangerous to kill her. That left Lommy...I couldn't find a good enough reason not to kill her. Though she had gathered some suspicion, I wasn't sure how long that would stay. Mainly, I killed her to make it seem as an unexpected choice and confuse the others as to why she died.
Night 2
I was rather busy with RL during Night 2, so I had to make my choice fairly quickly. I chose Spm to make him the other unexpected choice. In the game, I used him as my primary suspect and I was hoping that in the eyes of an innocent it would seem silly for a wolf-me to kill of my main target. After all, I have quite often as an innocent heavily suspected the wrong person...it would be typical of me to make that mistake again. Of course, I wasn't expecting what Rikae had coming for me.
Good work to Shasta...I really liked the Irish theme of this game. And congrats to Rikae who played wonderfully to her victory. Though I must ask, did you really know Spm and I were on opposite sides, or was that just pure luck?
