Admin Thread - TIG LXX: Our fate lies with...them?

HISTORY

Wild Eye Coyote, a slightly crazed yet cunning seer, and is the last real superhero left. Why? His arch-nemesis, The Dark Monarch, an evil butterfly bent on destroying the world has been killing all the quality heroes. Wild Eye looks now to hold tryouts to put together a new team of heroes in the fight against the Dark Monarch.

However, the recruitments don't go so well, as apparently all that's left is a bunch of d-list superheroes, with completely useless powers. Like...

Major Hot-trousers, who has the ability to light his pants on fire, or the Scissor sisters, twins who are exceptionally good at arts and crafts. They will be all that stands in the way between The Dark Monarch, her evil minions, and the fate of the world.

ROLES

GOOD

Seer - choses a person to dream of each NIGHT. If the seer dreams of the cobbler, xe will only see an ordo.

Ranger- each NIGHT choses someone to protect. The Ranger may protect xemself once and can not protect the same person 2 nights in a row.

Hunter- each NIGHT choses someone to hunt. If attacked, and the hunter has chosen a villain, the villain will die with the hunter. If xe choses an innocent, only the hunter will die. The Hunter can not kill the renegade bear. During the DAY, the Hunter may change the pick from the NIGHT before once. If lynched, the Hunter will take with xem whoever xe picked, regardless of role, and if the renegade bear was chosen during the DAY, the bear will die too.

BFFs- 2 people who are best friends forever, they may pm during both DAY and NIGHT phases. They both can not be known at the same time. Meaning if one is going to be lynched and decides to reveal, the other can not say "I'm the other BFF." If, one dies than the other may reveal. (The only exception to this is if the seer dreams of and reveals both their identities)

X ordos - vote each DAY.

EVIL

3 villains- normal baddies, who choose one player to kill at night. They desire the Dark Monarch's victory. (Firefly, Gust, and Pain) Killed by lynching, the hunter, or the shapeshifter.

Shapeshifter- The Dark Monarch's first attempt to corrupt a hero goes terribly wrong. She loses control, and the person has become a shape-shifting renegade bear. The Bear is a complete loner, who now only desires his/her own victory. The bear will chose one person to kill each NIGHT. The bear can be stopped by the Ranger, but at NIGHT can not be killed by the Hunter. The bear can die by lynching, or if the Hunter is lynched during the DAY and Hunter has chosen the bear. Also,can be killed by lynching, the vilains, and can be discovered by the seer.

Cobbler- will count as an innocent, but wants the Dark Monarch's victory, hoping xe will be rewarded. The cobbler will not be able to find out who the villains are

*Taking a page from Fea's book...highlighting is just easier to spot than a regular bold. To highlight type [ HIGHLIGHT ] (without the spaces) and then to end the highlight by typing [ /HIGHLIGHT ] (again without the spaces).

-No double lynches. 2-way ties will be broken by a coin toss. 3 or more way ties by a hat pull.

-If you don't vote 2 days in a row, you will be mod-fired. Unless in the admin thread, or by PM you informed myself or wilwa ahead of time, about not being around/able to vote.

*Heroes win when all the villains are killed, and The Dark Monarch is reduced to a weak, meager, existance because of spilling out her powers.

*The Dark Monarch, and her villains win, when there are more (or equal) of them than innocents.

Well I'm a psych major, just took a class on Emotion and we studied something called the Dictionary of Affect in Language, and it focuses on the emotions behind certain words. So yeah. haha, it is a type of major. Quiet brilliant.

If you consciously decide to not vote on a certain day, for whatever reason, it will not count against you. You, however must let me know you are deciding to abstain from voting by...

I think a cobbler or a cursed would be an excellent addition, assuming of course that we get enough people. Oh, and I'd prefer a later deadline because it appears I may be getting some sort of job (yay!) so the other might be a bit hard. Though of course I know the Europeans, etc. have to suffer most of the time so really either is fine with me. :)

Not to late at all Hakon, come on in. Yes I will probably add an evil role...maybe a cobbler, but may I ask if you are familiar with the 'cursed innocent?'

It's been used a couple times. The cursed is an ordo (and counts as an innocent), but doesn't know he/she is cursed. If the wolves pick that person to kill than the cursed gets changed into a wolf. If the cursed dies from a lynching, than all that will be revealed from the death was an ordo had been killed.

I can fit either the cobbler, or cursed, into the game premise, so let me know what you think. ;)

I can certainly add both...I was thinking about trying to come up with some alternative lover role, or bringing back a shirriff type role. But the shirriffs really weren't that interesting, and for my first game...even if I'm getting much needed help from wilwa, I want to try and keep it simple for myself. Than if I decide to mod again, you may see some different roles.

So right now there's 17...by adding a cobbler and cursed, that will bring 5 gifteds, 2 'special' ordos, and 10 regular ordos. There's more than I expected, we could probably add a hunter too.

The reason I ask, is I can go by the standard of the "last person who tied" gets lynched, but that benefits those who can be at the DL. Where the random outcome of a coin toss may cause ye all to be more wary about causing ties. :rolleyes:

The Cobbler, who I place under the tally of ordos, because he is just an ordo but one who wants the villains to win. Also, this cobbler will be able to try and discover some villains. The traditional role of the Cobbler is to not know who any wolves are, nor anyone's role, but just to cause confusion and have the wolves win.

Wow. Just... wow... that has got to be the fastest game-filling sign-up I've been awake enough to see. Not even 24 hours since the last game ended--I haven't logged in till now and it's full.

I suppose this is a good thing--even though it's a Boro game, and it looks super-cool, I don't have the naggling moral pressure of telling myself "no, you can't play."

Oh... and, having noticed this over the course of my Grimoire-related hunt yesterday--there has been some serious confusion with Roman numerals the last few games, not helped by discrepancies with the admin threads.

So... if I understand it aright, this game--yours, Boro--is supposed to 65--not the 70 you've got in the title here.

Mnemo's game was supposed to be LXIII (63), but somehow turned into XVIII (18). Lari seems to have picked up on the (18), so her one thread is XIX (19), saw it should be after 50, but merely added the L (50) and so got LXIX (69). It should have been LXIV (64).

So, Boro, dearest darling please,:Merisu: could I beseech you to use the proper number-- LXV (65)--when you start your game thread? It'll make all of us nitpicklers MUCH happier to get back on track.

Basically because I didn't think Lari's game would end so fast.

I actually wasn't considering to go at least until the 13th, so while Lari's game was going on I invited 5 or 6 people, and most said if it started at around the 16th they would be in. Lo and Behold, Lari's game is done in under a week, and those I invited, expecting the 16th, I said I couldn't wait that long. I would have to start earlier, so I told 'em around the 12th or 13th, I'll keep a spot for them, and to let me know if they're in.

Some said the 13th would be good, others said nope, and I will wait at least a few days for tp and Greenie.

Sorry if this is an inconvienience for anyone, but I seriously was not expecting the fast fill up, nor the quick end to Lari's game, nor Nog and Eonwe being unable to mod their games. It will still take wilwa and I a couple days to get ready and sort out the surveys. I might as well say it now, since it's probably no longer a secret, some roles will be chosen randomly, others will be chosen with the surveys in mind. Which roles? I wouldn't tell you even if I knew (because right now I really don't know) and I don't know how I want to use 'em yet, but rest assured there is a point in having everyone fill it out. :)

11pm would mean 8pm where I live, which works great, since work finishes up around 6pm for me during the week and I only have night classes two nights out of the week.

Given how I told Lari and Mira that I couldn't play if the game didn't start before two days ago, it would have been fair to assume I wasn't playing.

On the other hand... never underestimate the tug of WW immediately after a game successfully played. Let's see... if game starts on the 13th, that's this Friday... meaning I'll have close to two weeks before my school year begins, and even if I'm still alive 12 normal days (not Days) in, we aren't starting with a retreat this year, so I'll still have Internet access... unless it's not working in the temporary building, which is a possibility... but I'll be 5 minutes from my alma mater, and they have a computer lab I can use that's open until an hour after the deadline...

Oh wow... Shirriffs is a LONG time ago. Long in the sense of "I think they might not have been used since before Formie started playing." I don't think I ever played in a Shirriffs game anyway--I KNOW I wasn't ever one.

Form, welcome aboard...and now it's time for me to correct you. The 13th is Thursday, but maybe you are thinking that would be Night 1, so Day 1 would then be Friday? I can send out roles and have Night 1 on the 12th (wednesday) and then Day 1 would start Thursday. :) That would mean I would need the surveys by the 11th (Tuesday).

My first game ever, which was like game number 3 or 4 or something, haha, a looonnngg time ago, I was a shirriff. It was quite fun. :D

For anyone who cares, besides Boro ;), about my butterfly myths, here are the three that I used for my little minions (awesome names were given by Mr. Mod-God though):

~ In mythology, the butterfly is rarely distinguished from the moth, so since the moth is irrevocably drawn to a flame, both are related to Fire. (hence Firefly)

~ In the 1600's, a dwarf spaniel was developed that is named for its broad, erect, and feathery ears, ie. the Papillon, (aka Continental spaniel) which is the French word for "butterfly." (hence the vicious dog)

~ Choas theory: described as the disturbance of the air caused by the movements of a butterfly's wings that can, over time and with changing circumstances, become a hurricane. (hence Gust boy)


And in case anyone is finding it hard to picture the beauty that is a butterfly as being evil, the Dalai Lama said that butterflies are extremely uncaring creatures.

With 20 people, we (meaning wilwa and I) have decided to have 3 villains, 1 cobbler, reinstate the renegade bear, 5 gifteds (seer, ranger, hunter, 2 shirriffs) and that leaves us with 10 or 11 ordos. A good ration me thinks.

Stay tuned to will put up all the roles here...and then edit them in the 1st post. This will be the the final changes...no ifs ands, or butts about it. :p

GIFTEDS

Seer - choses a person to dream of each NIGHT. If the seer dreams of the cobbler, xe will only see an ordo.

Ranger- each NIGHT choses someone to protect. The Ranger may protect xemself once and can not protect the same person 2 nights in a row.

Hunter- each NIGHT choses someone to hunt. If attacked, and the hunter has chosen a villain, the villain will die with the hunter. If xe choses an innocent, only the hunter will die. The Hunter can not kill the shape-shifter. During the DAY, the Hunter may change the pick from the NIGHT before once. If lynched, the Hunter will take with xem whoever xe picked, regardless of role, and if the renegade bear was chosen during the DAY, the bear will die too.

BFFs- 2 people who will be best friends forever, they may pm during both DAY and NIGHT phases. They both can not be known at the same time. Meaning if one is going to be lynched and decides to reveal, the other can not say "I'm the other BFF." If one dies than the other may reveal. (The only exception to this is if the seer dreams and reveals both their identities)

X ordos - vote each DAY. :)

EVIL

3 villains- normal baddies, who choose one player to kill at night. They desire the Dark Monarch's victory. (Firefly, Gust, and Pain) The villains can be killed by lynch, the Hunter, or the Shape-shifter.

Shape-shifter- The Dark Monarch's first attempt to corrupt a hero goes terribly wrong. She loses control, and the person has become a shape-shifting renegade bear. The Bear is a complete loner, who now only desires his/her own victory. The bear will chose one person to kill each NIGHT. The bear can be stopped by the Ranger, but at NIGHT can not be killed by the Hunter. The bear can die by lynching, or if the Hunter is lynched during the DAY and Hunter has chosen the bear. The bear can be killed by the villains, and can be discovered by the seer.

Cobbler- will count as an innocent, but wants the Dark Monarch's victory, hoping xe will be rewarded. The cobbler will not be able to find out who the villains are

Ok, Ok, before anyone says anything, I'd like to just say as the Mod-God I reserve the right to change any past decisions (up until the start of the game). Now I know I said I was putting my boot down, and thank you wilwa for coming in for support, but Brinn you're in too.

I am super excited by this game, and I have been very happy by the sign-ups, I really was not expecting this. It reminds me of the WW games long ago when we had so many players, we had to open up Junior threads to accomodate everyone. Remember those days? Seemed like a long time ago. My point is I can't remember the last time we had this many players sign-up, and I don't want to shut anyone out from experiencing a full, fun, competitive game with a mix of both old and new particpants.

That is my final say and it is unquestonable :p

I said I wanted classic, can't get much more classic than that. Is it by some wierd coincidence to that Oddwen's game happened to be my first ever? And now completely unintentionally, we've managed to create virtually the same one just a different premise? I love this!

Also, master phantom brought up a good point that trust/distrust can vary from game to game. So if you are having difficulty in figuring out the oxymoron "Who do you trust the most?" think of it this way.

Give me at least 2 people, who if under threat of being lynched were pleading their innocence you would believe?

Yes the narrations should be clear enough as to whom killed who. For your other question, don't trouble me with abnormal scenarios which are unlikely to happen. Kidding, oi that's difficult, right now all I'll say is a super battle will take place. :D I think bears like anything sweet, and nothing might be sweeter than syrup covered legs. Ah... the Golden Age. Most of you youngins would remember them days. Life was simple but good--no Grad school or capstone classes to mess up the simple joys of life. Course, y'all won't remember the big name people what played Werewolfe back then... SPM, Wayne the Goblin, the phantome...

Yessirree, back in them days, you had to hike five miles into town, uphill both ways, to register for Werewolfe, and you had to get there three days early, 'cause there wasn't much else to do for sport, and come winter once the crops were in, you'd probably not have a job neither. Though there was a subtle sense of the idea that if you wanted to sort of get the hang of it, you might want to play Junior instead of Regular. That fell away, but at first Junior was the place to go if you were a bit intimidated by the nutty old folks massacring each other without mercy in the regular games.

But then there wasn't as much demand and games slowed down a bit, so Junior wasn't needed any more and nobody thought much of it.

I doubt we'll get overly strict about you guys posting early, so if an hour goes by after the narration and you just can't hold it in anymore, just go for it, I doubt an extra hour in the day will be that big of a deal to mister Mod-God. ;)
