What does Tharbad(and Enedwaith and Minhiriath)mean on the map of ME.Was it a city of Men,Elves or Dwarfs,and why is it never mentioned in LoTR or Silma?Was it destroyed?If so,why?

Tharbad was a river-port town where the North-South road crossed the river Gwathlo, ruined and deserted at the time of the War of the Ring. It is mentioned three times in LotR and many more in UT. The best that I can tell from my hasty research is that it was a mannish city.

What's a burrahobbit got to do with my pocket, anyways?</p>

Tharbad was a harbor built by the Numenoreans. It was used by them for Millenia as they plundered the ancient forests of Eriador for lumber for their great fleets. It was destroyed by great floods and abandoned.

Hmm,better buy those Unfinished Tales,coz there probably will be other answers to some of the questions I've never been able to answer.
P.S.Does anyone know if UT was also translated in Dutch,coz I wouldn't want to read it completely in English.

Tharbad is mentioned in LOTR. Yuppers, city it was, of the Numenoreans originally, then used by Cardolan.

Enedhwaith is a regional name, as is Minhiriath.

Tharbad's nearness to the elven realm in Eregion and also the main crossing of the river Gwathlo made it a great city in the second age. Didn't Sauron attack this city when he made war on Eregion?

Tharbad was a port built by Numenorean explorers. It was founded by the mariner Aldarion who travelled several journys to Middle-Earth. at the time of the War of The Ring it was ruined and deserted.

Yes, good background on Tharbad. I see Tharbad as an axis of trade between Numenor and the Elves of House Mírdain in Ost-in-Edhil, which was about 25 leagues to the east, and Moria gate was roughly 70 leagues further up the Sirannon river. What I find is Tharbad was destroyed by floods in the Third Age. Was not Tharbad attacked by Sauron when he waged war on Eregion and destroyed Ost-in-Edhil? I would so potential reinforcements could not land to the rear of the armies attacking Eregion. The Noldor did call on Numenor for aid, and Tar-Minastir sent an army that routed Sauron in Eregion, but I believe they landed in the Gulf of Lune. I'll have to look deeper into this.
