Other Tolkien writings

I knew that Tolkien had written and published poetry in some scale but I had no idea how vast was the list of his works until I came across this list (http://www.marquette.edu/library/collections/archives/Mss/JRRT/mss-jrrt-s-7.html). I was stunned! I haven't read any of those works named on the list (few of those named I have seen mentioned in other connections too) but some seem to have straight connections to the LoTR and other major works of Tolkien (for example "Bilbo's Last Song (At the Grey Havens)").
So, has anyone studied these Tolkien writings? Especially those letters mentioned; they aren't published in H.Carpenter's "The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien" not at least all of them. How vast is the amount of this sort of material, hidden in the archives? Is there a need for a new compilation??

AFAIK those are poems (usually one or two at a time) published alongside with the whole bunch of other authors (mainly of Oxford language related faculties) in academical (generally Oxford published) media. Some of them (usually edited by JRRT to become sadder than as first published) are later compiled as "The Adventures Of Tom Bombadil"

Just as an aside, the first one mentioned, The Battle of the Eastern Field, is, as far as I remember, a poem about a school cricket match, described in terms of a great battle. It was re-printed in Mallorn, a Tolkien Society(http://www.tolkiensociety.org/) magazine, back in the early 80's.

How about the Lay of Atrou and Itroun ?

I have never even seen any copies of these.

A search of the net for copies of this has proved fruitless...

Anybody have it?

I came across a delightful little book at my girlfried's house by Tolkien called Smith of Wootton Major. It was published in 1947 and is only 60 pages long but a nice childrens story nonetheless. It mentions elves and fearys and also Tolkien calls a man the Even-star!
