I was just wondering, what are the best books to read and in what order if you are interested in Middle-Earth history. I have read the Silmarillion, Hobbit, and the Lord of the Rings. What's next?

If you've only read the Silamrillion once-then read it again a few times.

Eleyende:Yes, and other than the UT, you may want to read The Histories of Middle Earth:
The Book of Lost Tales 1 & 2
The Lays of Beleriand
The Shaping of Middle Earth
and my most recent book: The Lost Road
I'm not so sure you should continue your discussion here. Our mod, Estelyn might not approve of it. It may be moved to the Newcomers and Novices board. And to go further, I don't think you need to create another thread for recommendations. There is one already created:here (http://forum.barrowdowns.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=2&t=002160). I hope it helps.
