Who was Elendil? And Elbereth and Gilthoniel?
There'll probably be a few more to come. I'm reading lotr for the 2nd time and I'd like to make sense of everything this time.

Elbereth Gilthoniel is the mightiest queen of the Valar and the spouse of Manwe (king of the Valar) She is most commonly known is Varda. She created the stars.

Elendil is the father of Insildurn and Anarion, he fought along side Gil-Galad as they overthrew Sauron in the Last Alliance.

You will find this in the Silmarilion if you ever get around to reading it smilies/smile.gif

Elendil is the father of Insildurn and Anarion I hate to do this, but it's one of the few things I know: it's Isildur & Anárion. These 2 were successively the heirs of Gondor & Arnor. Aragorn is a descendant of Isildur.
