No real knowledge or wisdom has anything to do with this, but I thought it would be fun to see what some of your favorite quotes are, whether they be from the books, the movie, or straight from Tolkien's mouth.

I love the whole poem in FOTR (book) that applies to Aragorn, even though some of it has become a bit cliche All that is gold does not glitter
Not all those who wander are lost....
Renewed shall be blade that was broken
The crownless again shall be king. You can tell by my sig that I like it smilies/wink.gif I also like the whole Theoden sequence Now for wrath, now for ruin, and a red dawn. There are so many more, but I'm just too out of it to think of them right now. I'll try to post more later.

Read my signature, you could live by this quote. (not literally, and ignore how there's actually a "Frodo" supposed to be in there)

I love the elvish song Galadriel sings about Valinor, it's the most beautiful song. I meant to put it in my signature but well, I was too lazy and I noticed a few people already have it in their signatures.

"I always like going south. Somehow it feels like going downhill."
My sentiments exactly, Treebeard.

I have too many to post, but here's one: When Denethor says: "I sent my son forth, unthanked, unblessed, and here he lies with poison in his veins." I tend to like a lot of the sad lines. And I really like the poem that Bilbo reads to Frodo in Rivendell which I used to know by heart. smilies/smile.gif Now I only remember the last lines:"But all the while I sit and think of times there were before/I listen for returning feet/and voices at the door." I'll post more of 'em soon...

There's so many, but one that just struck me was what Gimli says after the words of Malbeth the Seer are recited
Dark ways doubtless
It just has this ring to it...that's why it struck me.

I love the line by Gandalf "far below the deepst delvings of the Dwarves, the world is gnawed by nameless things" because it makes me shiver in an...errm...nice (?) way. I just find that line creepy, but I like it a lot anyway.
