Addict, one of the great things about the internet is how adults don't know if you're young or not....kids get to talk with equal voices.

But I would love to know how old the Barrow-Wight is, so I can appropriately gauge my amazment at the site....and some of the other mods, too. smilies/smile.gif

The Barrow Wight is in the United States Air Force, so he wouldn't be that young, and he wouldn't be that old.

Sixteen definitely isn't all it's cracked up to be smilies/rolleyes.gif.

But. Yeah. Silly Leisl singing Sixteen Going on Seventeen. I used to think that when I turned sixteen I would be able to dance around a gazebo just like her . . . crazy little kid . . .

Why is everybody looking at me like that?! smilies/biggrin.gif

I know I'm not the oldest person here, but it looks like I'm the oldest person to post on this so far. I turned 20 last July, and I'm not really too pleased about it.

I don't feel like I'm 20, and I don't look it either. I feel like I've barely begun to live, and yet I'm already halfway to 40!! Scary!!

I will not say my age. I think that the great thing about this site and any other ineternet site like this is that people don't know you. Age won't make others think you're inferior or underdeveloped. Nothing is based on how old you are, what you look like, your gender, etc. All that matters is what you write. I do not like this thread, but hey, everyone is at least a little bit curious sometimes. So, I will not say my age (oops, I think I might have mentioned it in another thread but oh well) but I will say this. I am not old but I am not young, I am in between at a significant age.

Nianna Telmnar is 18 (yes I actually got a calculator and worked it out) my dog's only 28, maybe 30 or 31, depending how far through the year we are. Did you know, just under two months is one dog year? Yeah, well this is a pretty useless post since I don't want to tell you my age, feel free to guess though.

I guess that Brinniel is... hmm... 17? Don't shout at me if I'm wrong!

Hmmm...people say I act like a 14 year old, and look like one some times...but some say I have the wisdom of a grandmother (was even called "grandma" in chinese by people I've sort of mentored!)

But anyways, I'm 21. And a half...having your birthday in the middle of the year is very VERY confusing.

I am from the first generation of Tolkien lovers in the U.S., the college students with flowers in our hair, who fell in love with the book in the late 60s. As such, I am the senior statesman here. Let's just say I qualify along with Frodo and Bilbo and those hobbits who ran off on adventures at the magic age of 50.

Pension fund? Yes, that would be nice. But why can't I retire to Rivendell the way Master Bilbo did?

I doubt she bothered to find the average, as it took a long time. Probably just a guess.

And if it was just a guess, it was a most excellent one. There are 75 people exactly who stated their age in some easy way. (I didn't go to the linked topics). For a total age of 1432.

And the average age is.....19.09333!

Oh, and btw, I'm certainly not telling my age. Age brings judgement.

*sniggers* Heh, I know how old you are Beren! Don't worry I won't tell... smilies/wink.gif smilies/tongue.gif

Nah seriously I won't. I suppose age can bring judgement, but who are they to judge you after they already know you? (I don't mean personally)

Aye, that is true. But its more of an unconcious perception than anything else.

And I just noticed something. Isn't the title "Ghost Prince of Cardolan" rather sexist? lol

Hmm, I never thought of that, Beren. Were there Ghost Princesses of Cardolan?

I suppose they were just generalizing. In the Spanish language, if a group of people are all female, save for one male, the ending of the pronoun is still masculine, unless I am mistaken.

It was a very very good guess, wasnt it? 20 and 19.09!

Compared to most replies here, I am of the First Age.

And apparently as ageless as the Elves.

This site "The Barrow-Downs" is Super.

IMHO, you should never ask a lady her age smilies/wink.gif.

But to answer your question I am a Valier, and that means I am older than The Children of Ilúvatar, and older than the earth. smilies/smile.gif

Any way you don't have to be sad you are young or old. Enjoy being young!! You have a whole life of responsibilities and stress ahead of you. And if you are old, forget your stress and responsibilites, and act like a kid again, no one will be able to tell!!! smilies/smile.gif LOL How is that for an answer? smilies/smile.gif

13.5, too old for the kids menu, too young to drive. Bah! I'm 14 and I still order from the kid's menu! Hurrah for small amounts of food!

I'm 14. I tried very hard to think of some Tolkien significance to that and I could only come up with two things: 1) Its the number of the Valar (yes that's minus Melk ... Morgoth), and 2) 13 dwarves, plus one Burglar from The Hobbit equals 14.

Does anyone try to place significance to their age? Or am I alone in my oddity ... it wouldn't be the first time ... *chuckles*

I doubt she bothered to find the average, as it took a long time. Probably just a guess.
Actually, I did do the math. I believe it was 19.7 at the time. And I will do the math again when more people respond.

I'm not quite sure how old I am. I stopped counting after 350.

Oh, very sorry Brinniel. I guess I wasn't the only complete bored person!

Brinniel

I'm not sure if it was because I was bored. It could've been because I am a perfectionist and I have to get the exact age rather than just estimate it. Strange, since I normally hate math. I suppose I could've been bored, though.

As for my age, I'll never tell! Well, at least not until my birthday comes and I can post an older age. Ha ha, that's not until June 28!
And for all who are that desperate to find my age, you'll just have to search the site. It's buried somewhere. Otherwise, you'll have to keep guessing. :p

I'm young enough to be silly, but old enough to be sensible.
I guess I’m the youngest here, I didn’t know that some people were so much older than me! (Sorry). Ok, here goes, I’m 10. You older people will proberly think I’m just a little kid, but I'm not!
I'm 11 in 9 days.

Bye, Elessar
