I found this site and I thought it was amazing! I'm a big anime fan (more for drawing than watching) and I've done my own anime LOTR characters, but they just can't compare to this!
It really is beautiful, and well thought out too. Not all of it is in english, but enough of it is to make navigating easy. My picture (should be Frodo, here's to hoping) came from this site.
Whether you like anime or not, you just have to see it for its beauty and its LOTR relevance!

Well, you're picture is nothing but a red "x" inside a white box...it's pretty though smilies/biggrin.gif . And I'm blocked from going to the site. {Stupid parental controls}. Anyway, I'm sure the site is good.

I'm not really an anime fan myself, but the sheer work that went into this site is impressive. Bit hard to read though! smilies/wink.gif
I did like the pictures, very much. (As I'm sure you can tell from my new avatar...)

I've never really looked at anime before, and know nothing about it, but I found the pictures charming!! They're wonderful!

I've never much liked anime, but I loved these pictures! The one of Elrond was especially marvelous.

Thanks for the link, Lumiel! I looked through the entire site, and it was really well done! (Couldn't read a word, though! smilies/wink.gif ) I was very surprised and pleased to see an illustration of Pippin and the Palantir there! It is hard to find pictures of that scene, and I collect them! (One of my favorite scenes, ya know!)
I browsed about this evening and also found this link for a bit different artistic style: Cal Courtney's LOTR Illustrations (http://www.calcourtney.com/gallery-lotr.html) . It is not extensive, but is rather a small collection of representations of the Fellowship as portrayed by the Peter Jackson Players, so to speak...I particularly like the whimsy employed in capturing the nature of both actor and character in some of these. A nice touch appears on the surfboard in the picture of Legolas, and the representation of Pippin made me laugh out loud! Still not quite sure why Frodo has flowers in his hair, unless it is an oblique pop culture reference to his pacifism (sword raised and all?), but Sam sitting in a field of elanor (!) flowers is beautiful! Sorry for the editorial, but I was amused! Don't forget to check out Gandalf! smilies/wink.gif I hope you enjoy them!
Cheers,
Lyta

Oh, those pictures were beautiful. I especially loved the ones of Galadriel and Aragorn. And there was one of Sam that looked so much like Sean Astin it was freaky.
Thanks for the link smilies/biggrin.gif

I haven't ever been such an anime fan, but I *love* drawing (I was just drawing Frodo from the RotK poster before I came here)!
Now I decited to try that kind of drawing myself. I know it'll probably be hard 'cause I always try to do realistic drawings but...
I loved the Elladan&Elrohir pic. Thanks for the link, Lumiel!

Wow! I really didn't expect this kind of a response! I simply haven't seen anything quite like this site anywhere on the internet, so I couldn't resist sharing smilies/smile.gif .
I checked out the site Lyta, it was cute! Legolas on a sufboard...that's just awesome!!! smilies/biggrin.gif
Dancing spawn of ungoliant and Ophelia, I used to do more realistic drawings too (still do...love Frodo! smilies/wink.gif ) A bit of advice for trying anime: find an anime picture first and try to draw off of it, either through tracing (if necessary at first) or just through mimicing. That's how I started, it helps to give you a feel of how to draw anime.
I've been drawing anime for about four years now, and seeing something like this makes me work even harder.
Anyway, I'm glad you guys enjoyed it as much as I did.
PS: Did any of you guys see that pic of Legolas, Elladan, and Elrohir? That's a great pic!

Thank you for the link, Lumiel! smilies/smile.gif It was really fun looking at all those pictures and many of them are quite beautiful.
Here is a link to another Tolkien Art Site, pictures by the German artist Anke Eiszmann. (It has been given here before, but that was a year ago, so not all of you might have seen it.)
Enjoy (http://elfwood.lysator.liu.se/loth/a/n/anke/anke.html)

Aime is not that hard actually, you just need a picture to copy off of, or model after. Then you just go from there. I've been drwawing Aime for a few years(Actually since I was 11)hehehe.but what's easy for me may not be easy for you and vice-versa.But the site is absoulutly beautiful, and i wish it was more in English!(My bio-ligual frustraions)

I tried to draw from that Elladan&Elrohor pic and it was so fun! It is hard to me to draw anime without a model since I'm not used to that style. But maybe I have to keep trying smilies/smile.gif

I just revisited the site (again smilies/rolleyes.gif ), and it looks as beautifull as ever! But if have a question: does anyone of you know Japanese? I mean, then we'll know when the site will be updated, and stuff. And also, I really want to know who made that amazing art! I don't know about you guys/girls, but I really want to know!
Navaer!

*Morgul waltzes into thread, thinks, then bumps it ever-so-slightly*
What can I say? People need to know about this site and they can't do that if it's 10 pages back...took me long enought to find it...

Thanks for bumping that back up, Morgul! I'm not an anime fan, but some of the pictures were lovely. I especially thought that the Denethor portrait was great, and Bergil was sooooo cute!
Heh... manga with all the characters jabbering in Japanese... that's far too amusing.
