Anyone in any middle earth books, who would you fight along side!(regards to thengal for this idea)

Silmarillion- FingolfinlFingon

LOTR- Imrahil

Robomir
01-19-2004, 09:21 AM
Sil- Hurin and Huor
Lotr- Theoden I think but its pretty difficult also Faramir would be good.

Tom Bombadil!

-I could drink a smoothie while he weaves spells around the enemy.

tom bombadil's still prety cool though...

LotR: Umm... Aragorn! ^^;

As for the Sil... Feanor, you son of a silly person. Heh. Despite the fact that it would quite likely result in my death... ah well. smilies/tongue.gif

The Perky Ent -> Lol. Mmm... smoothie. I'll bet Bombadil could kick some arse. If anything he could drive the enemy away with endless streams of rhyming verse... smilies/rolleyes.gif

Aah, just kidding. I like Bombadil. smilies/smile.gif

Sil - Beleg Cúthalion
LotR - Elrond

I don't know why, but I'm so darn into Elrond's fighting tecnique.

Elrond of Rivendell
01-19-2004, 03:21 PM
LotR: Theoden (greatest man in the book)
Sil: Beren (mmhmm ... he didn't really fight, did he? ... so I would perhaps choose Fingolfin)

EfR

Sil-Feanor
LOTR-Theoden

Gil-Galad, good idea to add the Sil. to this question. smilies/smile.gif

LOTR- Faramir or Imrahil

The Sil.- Fingolfin

Silmiel of Imladris
01-19-2004, 03:56 PM
I don't know much about the Sil but considering all the things I have heard about him I would choose Fingolfin.

LOTR: Thranduil because I think he has the potential to kick major butt. I know he wasn't really in there so if you what a more prominate character I would have to choose Elrond.

Sil- Beleg, Tuor, or Earendil. Or Idril.
LotR- Hmm. Theoden, Eomer, Eowyn, Gandalf, Aragorn, Boromir, Legolas, Gimli, Faramir, Prince Imrahil... I'd fight beside any of them.

Well I haven't read the Silmarilion, so from LotR I'd go with either Gandalf or Eomer. Gandalf because he is definitely one of my favorite characters and Eomer because I would most likely be on horseback. smilies/biggrin.gif

FOR FUN: umm, probably Gimli, because I would have so much fun competing with him, seeing who killed more... smilies/tongue.gif smilies/biggrin.gif
FOR PROTECTION: Legolas, becuase he's a true Renissance man
REAL LIFE: Arwen and Eoywn, becuase simply...

Do i need to say it, really?

LOTR: Éomer (woah, big surprise!) and Prince Imrahil.

I dont think i could be a foot soldier, Horseback for me as well.

As a Hobbit, the thought of fighting fills me with horror.
In a battle, I'd probably act just like Bilbo in the Battle of the Five Armies.

Silmarillion :- Túrin Turambar (I like danger!)

2nd Age :- Elendil

LoTR :- Elladan & Elrohir (Given their Elvish skills and hardened Ranger mentalities I cant see anyone - good or evil besting them in combat during the 3rd Age)

LotR-The Shire (if it ever came under attack)(of course they had a little skirmish i mean real war)
Sil-Fingolfin

In the Silm I would probably most like to fight alongside Beleg Strongbow (one of my very favorite elves). Or maybe I'd like to be in the service of Finrod (one of my other favorite elves).
In LOTR probably Theoden (riding horseback...cool!)

Id fight with Elrond in the last alliance. Sure id probably just be standing on the sidelines hoping not to get myself killed waving a flag cheering... It's the spirit that counts!

Heh, fighting is not my forte... speaking my mind is, however...

In the LOTR, I felt that the best person draw sword with would be Aragorn... since he would probably be king anyway, and would probably reward anyone who he deems heroic... :D It is probably a bad idea to fight alongside Sauron or Saruman because they won't give a fiddlestick about who are their allies.

In Silmarillion, it is probably a bad idea to fight alongside any faction at all... except for Eonwe, the Herald of Manwe.
:D The reason for this is that, almost all factions loose out in the end, and the only ones who finally benefited are the Numenoreans, who are supposed to represent the men who joined Eonwe...

In the Hobbit, the obvious thing to do would be to fight the orcs and share the treasure! ;)

The Silm: Feanor, Celebrimbor. (gotta love those two)
Rings: Theoden, Faramir.
Hobbit: Thranduil.
Last Alliance: Elrond.

Thorongil
02-23-2004, 02:07 PM
Sil: Definately Turgon. I really like when the gates of Gondolin opens, and a shining army appears, that is just great!
2nd age: I'd probably sail around with Aldarion, because I like boats.
Lotr: That would be the Rohirrim. Riding like the wind in many days, and finally appear on the fields of Pelennor, blowing horns and filling Gondors people with hope. Truly a great moment!

*Well, I guess I'm the only one, but in a hand-to-hand combat Sam because he would fight untill he was dead. (With pots and pans, too!)
*Legolas and Aragorn in a major battle because they are just so darn cute! No, really. Legolas never (well, hardly anyway) misses, and Aragorn is a kick-butt leader and great swordsman.
* And finally, Eowyn, Gimli, and Tom Bombadil or any of the eagles would be great too.
Haven't read the Sil. so, no oppion on that one.

Sil - Finwë
LOTR - The Balrog

I chose Finwë because...well...he's a awsomly cool elf. And I chose the Balrog because...well think about it. We could take on all the orcs at pelenor fields by our selves.

Thorongil
03-05-2004, 04:34 AM
And the reason a balrog would attack a bunch of orcs is...

sim. - azaghal ( isn't that the dwarf-king who killed the dragon?) I want to die nobly

LOTR - Gimli, he is just crazy!

Last Alliance - Elendil, it would be fun to throw myself on sauron shouting, "Taste cold steel, you big bully!"

LotR--Dain Ironfoot

Azaghal wounded Glaurung(crap forgot to spell) but died by the dragons blood

The Perky Ent
03-05-2004, 06:35 PM
Well, the Balrog would have tons of reasons for fighting orcs! I mean, why do you think the orcs ran away in Moria when the Balrog showed? There is no longer an alliance! So Bill (my name for the Balrog Gandalf killed) and I would tear up every orc, mumakil, and Haradrim in Gondor!

Gil-Galad
03-09-2004, 05:24 PM
In the appendices, it says that the Balrog gathered the orcs and trolls etc. so i would think that he would fight along his minions

Fingolfin II
04-04-2004, 11:03 PM
Sil- I'd want to fight alongside Fëanor and Túrin, but then my commonsense would kick in and I'd do the sensible thing and stick with Fingon/Turgon (don't forget Fingolfin went nuts when he thought the Noldor lost completely- at least Turgon kept his head :)).

Lotr- Definitely Gandalf or Gil-galad.

Nilpaurion Felagund
04-05-2004, 01:25 AM
First Age: Finrod, of course. :)

Or maybe Círdan. He founded the first amphibious assault team (Firth of Drengist - twice - and the Mouths of Sirion)

Second Age: Ciryatur. His army annihilated Sauron's forces. Cool.

Third Age: I love ships. Thorongil during the assault on the quays of Umbar.

Gil Galad
04-06-2004, 06:24 PM
LOTR: Gandalf the White.

Sil:... Huan, the hound of Valinor. He kicked Sauron's butt at the gates of Tol-In-Gaurhoth

LotR- Eowyn and/or Aragorn

LotR >>>>>>>> BOROMIR

I would gladly fight beside this man to the very end of all things.

ArathorofBarahir
04-22-2004, 06:10 PM
I would either fight alongside Aragorn, Boromir or Faramir.

Etharius
04-23-2004, 03:04 AM
Faramir didnt really have a place on the field of battle. Aragorn would be too suicidal for me. Plus i'd have orc blood all over me from his decapitations.

Lhundulinwen
04-24-2004, 03:25 PM
In defense of Aragorn, every time he was in a major battle in LOTR, (all the ones I can think of), the odds against him were staggering. To win, he just about HAD to be willing to risk life and limb. And, well, in battles with orcs, you will be covered in blood no matter what you do, wouldn't you?

Gothmog
04-24-2004, 06:16 PM
Sil- Beleg Cúthalion I think (a personal favourite)...Or how about Hurin, the greatest human warrior ever lived. (or Fingon or Turgon or Fingolfin or Turin or....)

LotR- Legolas I think. Absolutely NOT because of Orlando Bloom, but for his incredible skill with that bow of his...

The Hobbit- Bill (the troll). I think an allied in the size of a troll could come in handy in a battle :D

Gil-Galad
04-24-2004, 10:27 PM
strange, i probaly would never fight for legolas...or ratehr beside him... i would gladly fight for Thranduil in the battle under the trees, meeting Celeborn in teh joint attack on Dol Guldur, priceless... but it would be suicide for Oropher, sinceh e charged head first at the black gates

Gothmog

May I ask why not? Not to question your judgement, I'm just curious... :)

Gil-Galad

i honestly never thought of legolas as warrior....he was just there to do two things, look pretty and shoot stuff...

Gothmog
04-25-2004, 03:24 PM
OK...I've seen him in another way, but I'm a big elf-fan so it might be because i've thought "oh, look an elven warrior in the fellowship, WOW" :D

Besides, I've always admired a good bowman (or bow-elf :D ). Everyone have their own opinion...

Gil-Galad

to me..battles are decided with huge numbers, not a bunch of really skilled people... wiping out raiding party after raiding party

people

first age: Finrod ( best elf in the book)
second age: elendil and isildur.

cities and countries:

first age: gondolin
second age: numenor
third age: gondor.

Silmarillion: the Teleri at Alqualonde. Those folks needed all the help they could get!

Lord of the Rings: Halbarad. I've always admired his character--he traveled all the way to Rivendell and then to Rohan with the banner, on what couldn't have been good information on Aragorn's location (it's not as though he was exactly standing still during that part of the story), and in the case of an attack he would have been hobbled by the very banner--I would imagine it's rather a tricky thing to draw sword while holding such an unwieldy object.

I think i would definatly have to fight along side or on top of Tree Beard in LOTR for fun.

For good old fashioned Have a bit of that! it would have to be Aragorn or Boromir as they kick butt over urukhi.

Gothmog

Well, if you wanna win, how about Tulkas or Eonwe?? Or if you want to be absolute sure of victory, Iluvatar :D

Olorin_TLA
05-10-2004, 09:41 AM
Iluvatar? I'd never trust him as far as I could kick him! There we'd be, me fighting enemies, and Him just being there...not doing anything...and when I die he'll probably said "Don't worry,at least your death was artistic and so improved the Tale of Ea."

Now tulkas I could get along with.

Well, I have always fancied Gil-Galad. I would like to be member of his court in Lindon (and more if possible :o ), and if there was need to stand by his side in battle. And Finrod maybe....

Isowen

probably eowyn, she has a lot of courage and she is probably the best person in the battle of middle earth (besides eomer and aragorn etc)

If it was for fun I would fight beside Merry and Pippin.

But before that..

Drinks beer with them.. then goes to battlefield..

Me: (hiccup...) Umm.. What are we doing here again? (hiccup..)
Pippin: I don't know.. (hiccup..) One more glass please! (faints..)
Merry: Oh well.. (hiccup..) If we can't beat them join themmm...

We all faint..

But seriously, I would love to fight with either Faramir or Gimli.

I'll tell you someone I don't wanna fight against! Hurin! I'd be trying to focus, and he'd just keel shouting 'Aure entuluva! Day shall come again!'

Boromir88
08-24-2004, 09:14 PM
lol Perky, yes I think I would get distracted too, or maybe even jealous, slaying all them trolls.

For me, it might be Imrahil and the glorious knights of Dol Amroth. It was said only Imrahil's men and the strongest lads of Gondor could withstand the nazgul shriek, so if I was in the siege of Gondor battle, I would definately want to fight under Imrahil to be able to withstand the sound.

Well it would be really cool to fight beside Gil-Galad mighty Elven King.He had a lance didnt he so i suppose he would fight on horseback ,but i really prefer fighting on foot so legolas would be a good second option. :D

Treebeard! I would just sit on his shoulder and shoot stuff while he crushes enemies.

Sil-Fingolfin,because he is the braves t of or elves,or Feanor, who is said to great in battle.I mean, even if he died,it was because of foolishness, not lack of skills.

Lotr-Aragorn,because he is king, and he is great in battle or Gimli, who is also almost undefeatable. But,the biggest fun would be fighting along side Pippin, who is confused and doesn't know what is happening. The bad thing is that both of us would end up dead. ;)

Legolas or Gimli( they're so loyal)

Faramir
01-29-2005, 08:25 AM
I cant really decide so ill go by book

FOTR-Aragorn-He gives a real deadly presence and hes a veteran fighter.
TT-Legolas-He is a good bow..elf...and is deadly with his daggers.
ROTK-Pippin-I suppose id be doing alot of the fighting if i was with Pip,but if he can fell a troll hes good enough for me.

I'm thinking I'd like to fight alongside Tar-Minastir's navy. You know, the one commanded by Ciryatur (*prays he remembers the right name...), fought (and practically wiped out) Sauron (with the Ring), and otherwise served alongside generally cool Noldor and Sindar.

I would have gone with Ar-Pharazon's navy (now there's a front-runner if there ever was one), but I didn't want to incur the wrath of Iluvatar.... ;)

I would love to fight side by side with Legolas, I know, not very original, but I know all the characters (well all most all) and I'd love to fight side by side with Legolas, cause of his agillities, he's so fast and is the best archer.

I would rather not fight at all :)

But if it comes to fight, Sam (LoTR), Bilbo (Hobbit) or Cirdan (Silmarillion)

All of those people seem least fightthirsty to me, and deffend, not attack :)
