What was Peregrin according to the rumours in Gondor, and what did he allegedly had taken with him and given to the Rohirrim.

A rumor had spread that Pippin was the Prince of the Halflings and that when the Rohirrim came each would be bringing a halfling warrior (described, I think, as small but doughty).

Faramir Took married Goldilocks nee Gamgee, one of Sam's younger daughters.
If Gwaihir arrives back at the board soon, he should have the right to ask next.

Thankyou, Galpsi. I shall proceed with a question, again about hobbits: In the Shire calendar, which month is immediately before the Overlithe, and how many days are in it?

If I recall this rightly, Hobbits used King's Reckoning. If that is right, then I think that the month before the midsummer-days of Overlithe was called Forelithe by most Hobbits but was called Lithe out east.

Ok, you're both correct. I was hoping somebody else had compulsively visualized characters "in armor" throughout their adolescence. Turns out I'm the only nerd! (Hauberk of black steel rings, tall helmet surmounted with raven's wings and a silver star, black surcoat embroidered with a silver tree.) You just know that hobbit chicas were very impressed by the sight of the Thain-apparent riding around, big as a dwarf, done up in "armor."
Anyway, Sharku or Kittle, whichever of you reads the confirmation first should feel free to ask since you both had accurate if un-compulsive answers.

The dimholt was the copse at Dunharrow just past the firienfeld. To reach it, one passed the pukel-men who flanked the road from Harrowdale.

The Pukel-men were indeed along the way to the Dimholt, lining the long climb up from the Harrowdale.
Galpsi gets to ask if he can tell what monuments lined the road in the Firienfeld.

Close enough, though the stones lining the path stood singularly and were not connected together into any type of structure. They were possibly the remains of statues similar to the Pukel-men (this is my own supposition).
