Oh no! By the time he met Idril he was no long permitted to wander outside of her father's realm.

I should have rightly asked of Maeglin instead of Eol.... Eol would hardly have had the chance to make anything for his wife's niece.

I'll ask the question again in its more correct form.

Yes, looking up an answer is not a shameful deed if no one else can answer a question. In fact, when a question sits unanswered for more than a day it should be answered at all costs... regardless of the burden it will place upon your soul. (j/k ... I really meant the part about it being cool to look up answers after a while ... as far as I'm concerned)

`Naith` means wedge, as in the Numenorean military formation `dirnaith`. This part of Lorien was wedge-shaped, hence the name.

Shocking! With all the Wights here, no one could answer a question about a barrow! Tom Bombadil instructs the Hobbits that if they come upon a barrow when leaving the Old Forest, they should pass it on the West side.

Another one. Thingol meets Melian in Nan Elmoth. Hundreds of years later, what elf met what elf maiden in the same forest?

Brethil was outside the Girdle but part of Doriath... Dimbar probably wasn't part of Doriath (and thus def. not within the Girdle) but it was on the border.
