Ok since I have just started this game I shall start with an easy one: Describe then the arrow that Bard shot Smaug with. ( where for did it come what were it physical features etc etc.)

The 'Black Arrow' that Bard used to kill Smaug was forged by the dwarves of Erebor.... to describe it I would say that it was black.

Only that it always seemed to me that there was an abiding affinity beteween Bilbo and Balin or maybe just that JRRT always featured Balin so prominently that the patterns of story-telling anticipate that he should have come first. It is a conventional expectation on my part, no doubt.

I don't remember that there was a commanding vista for I think that the backdoor opened onto a little high valley. The chief landmark would be the Misty Mountains at one's back. If one were high enough, the view eastward would be toward the carrock.

Bilbo dreamt about this dinner when he was pushed by the dwarves into the wood elves circle. The magic of the circle put him into a deep slumber and when he was tripped over and woken he described this feast to the disgruntled dwarves. There hows that!!

Afetr the Battle of 5 Armies, someone was sent to look for Bilbo. When Bilbo awoke from being unconscious, he saw he was still alive and (I think) thanked his luck for the ring. Then the person sent to look for him asked who was talking. Then Bilbo took off the ring and made himself visible again.

Am I right?

It was the second time he went down the tunnel. Smaug was watching the mouth of the tunnel with one cracked eye. When Bilbo notices the gleam of the dragon's eye, he stepped back, afraid, then remembered that he was invisible and he &quot;blessed the luck of his ring.&quot; Of course Smaug smelled Bilbo and felt the draft of his motions and respiration.
