Tolkien appears to have borrowed the concept of the "sister-son" (i.e. the special relationship between a maternal uncle and his nephew, whom he raises or fosters) from Norse mythology and history. Name two examples of this relationship from JRRT (where the nephew was raised by the maternal uncle or lived with the maternal uncle for some time) -- at least one from the elder days and one from the Third Age.

Lond Daer was, if I remember right, a port made by the Numenoreans in west Eriador, Proberly on Grey Flod. It was a Harbour for outshipping timber fron ME to Numenor. In later years it was abadoned by the Nomenoreans, partly due to the unfriendlyness of the original inhabitants of the area an because larger areas in Numenor had been planted with trees, as is describes in the tale of Aldariion and Erendis in UT.

Hador Lórindol died in the Dagor Bragollach before the walls of Eithel Sirion, defending the rearguard of Fingolfin. He, and his younger son, Gundor, were followed in death by the elder son, Galdor, who perished seven years later in the same spot.
