View Full Version : the what if... fill in the blank game!!!
Gil-Galad
05-28-2003, 03:45 PM
Okay this is really simple, you start off wioth what if... then you put anything in
Eg: what if _____ didn't marry Celbrian, there whould not be any Arwen!!! A: Elrond
you can have as many blanks as you want
What if ___-_____ had a son, then there would still be a heir!!!
Scott
05-28-2003, 05:59 PM
I assume you're talking about an elvish heir so,
What if "Gil-Galad" had a son, then there would still be an heir!
Did I get it?
Gil-Galad
05-29-2003, 06:31 AM
yes! now it is your turn!!!
Scott
05-29-2003, 09:09 PM
Alright then:

OK, I think that this should be fairly straightforward.
What if ________ hadn't met ________ on the road to Bree, the Ring might never have been found by Bilbo.
Beren87
06-07-2003, 08:22 PM
Gandalf, Thorin.
Elentarimir
06-08-2003, 06:22 AM
Gandalf, trolls?
The Saucepan Man
06-08-2003, 05:17 PM
Well yes, Elentarimir, your answer does work. But Beren gave the answer that I was looking for. So please continue Beren (and congrats on the well-deserved PT). smilies/smile.gif

At your rate, your PT won't be too far off
It's arrived! smilies/smile.gif
Well, the first blank must be Frodo. As for the second, it's not clear that Shelob actually died, so I'll say Snaga (on the basis that Sam wouldn't have got into Cirith Ungol without the phial).
Many happy returns of the day, Beren. smilies/smile.gif
Beren87
06-10-2003, 08:59 PM
Heh.
Actually, Shelob did die. She went and ate herself (as she was now unable to hunt).
But Snaga works too, I was going to accept both.
Your go!
The Saucepan Man
06-11-2003, 08:14 AM
Actually, Shelob did die.
Really? Where is that from? When I checked LotR last night, all I could find was a passage saying something like "whether she died or healed herself, this tale does not tell". Is there something on this in one of the HoME books?
Anyway, thanks Beren. smilies/smile.gif

*****REVIVE*****
The way this game works is you give a sentence with something blanked and someone has to give the answer in the blank
Example: Is ____ never found the ring, he wouldn't have 9 fingers.
The answer would be Frodo!
Looks good? Hope so! Anyways, here's the new question:
If Gondolin hadn't fallen, Frodo wouldn't of received _____.
Ask away! should be easy!
The Saucepan Man
