TTT & FOTR movie quotes, who said it, and if you can: where and who to.
"Saruman has poisoned the mind of the king and claimed lordship over this land. My company are those loyal to Rohan. And for that, we are banished. The White Wizard is cunning. He walks here and there they say, as an old man, hooded and cloaked."
eleanor_niphredil

*YAWN* easy. Eomer to Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli when they meet his company in Rohan.
King_Elessar

Correct, your go eleanor_niphredil. Sorry it was so easy, could not think of any good ones as I was in a rush.
eleanor_niphredil

Sauruman will take it by force.
King_Elessar
01-26-2003, 08:57 AM
OK, I looks like it's just us two on this thread! But anyway, is it Eomer, talking to Thèoden about Thèodred in Edoras?

King_Elessar
01-27-2003, 01:42 PM
Correct eleanor_niphredil, continue, the orc is called Grishnák.
Why is it always you being the first person to reply to my posts, is this coincidence of do youn mean to?? (not that I have a problem with it!)
Bye, Elessar.

Do you mean just here, or all over the forum. If its all over, then that is just plain weird.
oh yeah, a quote
It has already begun
King_Elessar
01-27-2003, 02:27 PM
In the forum, whenever I post anything you always seem to be the first person to reply!
Is it Gandalf to Aragorn whilst mounted on their horses near the end of TTT (location unknown to me), saying something about the war of Middle-Eareth has already begun. Pure guess.

Maybe Theoden at the battle of Helms Deep?
or
Aragorn to Theoden at Edoras

No, no. I can see that we have all been brainwashed by the Two Towers.
Diamond18
01-27-2003, 04:30 PM
Urrr, was that a hint that it's from FotR? Because I was going to saying Galadriel to Elrond via Osanwe in TTT...
Nurumaiel
01-27-2003, 04:33 PM
Galadriel to Frodo at the Mirror in FOTR. Here's the full quote:
It is what will come to pass if you should fail. The Fellowship is breaking . It has already begun. He will try to take the Ring. You know of whom I speak. One by one it will destroy them all.

Nurumaiel
01-27-2003, 09:58 PM
Treebeard to the Hobbits (Merry & Pippin). Complete quote is.....
Hobbits? Never heard of a Hobbit before. Sounds like Orc mischief to me. They come with fire, they come with axes. Biting, breaking, hacking, burning. Destroyers and usurpers. Curse them!
King_Elessar
01-28-2003, 10:01 AM
Correct, contine please.
Diamond18

*Ahem* Yes, that is correct. If I'd given the whole quote it would have been too easy smilies/wink.gif. Nurumaiel's turn.
Nurumaiel
01-28-2003, 12:26 PM
All right, here's the next quote for you to guess...
By nightfall we'll be overrun.
eleanor_niphredil
01-28-2003, 12:35 PM
that would be Aragorn, just after they come out of the mines of Moria.
Nurumaiel
01-28-2003, 12:49 PM
Sorry, that's not the answer. Keep guessing!
Dark Shadow
01-28-2003, 03:28 PM

01-28-2003, 06:21 PM
Aragorn to Theoden at Helm's Deep
Nurumaiel
01-28-2003, 09:53 PM
No, still not right. Here's your hint: It's not at Helm's Deep. It doesn't involve Rohan or the Three Hunters or Gandalf.
Dondagnirion
01-29-2003, 12:44 PM
Was it one of the Uruk-Hai when they were being chased by the three hunters? I can not quite put a finger on it if you could narrow it down to species of who said it then maybe.
Dondagnirion
"He who cannot cast a treasure away at need is in fetters." - Aragorn
Nurumaiel
01-29-2003, 12:47 PM
Okay, here's your next hint, to quote Gandalf: It is in Men that we must place our hope.
Dark Shadow
01-29-2003, 12:49 PM
Hmm. Would it be Faramir in Osgiliath?
(very random. I can't remember at all.)
eleanor_niphredil
01-29-2003, 01:08 PM
Was it one of the other men, a ranger perhaps, at Osgiliath?
Full quote:
Faramir, Orcs have taken the eastern shore. Their numbers are too great. By nightfall we’ll be overrun
Nurumaiel
01-29-2003, 01:42 PM
Correct, eleanor_niphredil! Your turn. BTW, his name was Parn.
eleanor_niphredil
01-29-2003, 01:46 PM
At last!
Orcs are on the move
Nurumaiel
01-29-2003, 02:00 PM
Parn (one of Faramir's men) talking to Faramir.
eleanor_niphredil
01-29-2003, 02:02 PM
Madril actualy, but close enough. Continue, and make it harder. this is to easy.
Nurumaiel
01-29-2003, 02:09 PM
I was positive it was Parn...
Maybe this will be hard enough.
Forward, forward, march forward.
eleanor_niphredil
01-29-2003, 02:13 PM
At a guess, Elrond in the Last Alliance?
Nurumaiel
01-29-2003, 02:15 PM
Nope, that's not it. Well, at least you're not guessing it on the first try. Is it hard enough? smilies/smile.gif
eleanor_niphredil
01-29-2003, 02:22 PM
Yes, thankyou.
Another guess. The big boss Orc at Helms Deep?
Nurumaiel
01-29-2003, 03:27 PM
Nope, sorry. It wasn't someone who was in command of an army, though it was at the beginning of a rather small battle.
eleanor_niphredil
01-29-2003, 03:34 PM
Okay. Perhaps someone before the battle with the Wargs? Thedoen perhaps?
Nurumaiel
01-29-2003, 03:39 PM
It was the battle before the Wargs, but, no, it wasn't Theoden.
eleanor_niphredil
01-29-2003, 03:40 PM
Aragorn? darn, this is hard.
Nurumaiel
01-29-2003, 03:47 PM
Nope! This is the kind of question where, after you guess it correctly, you think, "OH! Why didn't I think of that sooner?" Keep on guessing.....

01-29-2003, 03:48 PM

Gimli or Aragorn I don`t know to whoom ( I just guessed)
Dondagnirion
02-03-2003, 01:07 PM
It was Faramir when him and that dude were looking at a map in TTT he said "Sauron knows Gondor is weak, he will strike, and he will strike hard." or something to that effect, havent seen it in a while so that is probably not the exact text.

02-05-2003, 06:21 PM
That would be Eomer to Aragorn, Gimli, and Legolas when they met at the beginning of TTT. I think it goes something like this "Look for your friends, but do not trust to hope. It is forsaken these lands." - Eomer.
Dondagnirion
"It is useless to meet revenge with revenge; it will heal nothing." - Frodo

6. " **BURP**"
There, that should keep you busy for a while. Only one is from FOTR, the rest are from TTT. PM me if you need a hint.

#3 is a quote from Legolas as he laments for Pippin and Merry, I think.
I think #2 is a Frodo quote, but that's the best I can do for now.
Dondagnirion
05-02-2003, 09:31 AM
Number two is Frodo in answer to Sam when he wakes in the beginning of The Two Towers.
Dondagnirion
Firondoiel

Airehiriel is correct on #3. I'm sorry Dondagnirion, but #2 is not a Frodo quote.

No. 1 is Aragorn when Elrond tells him to let Arwen go
I can't get no.2 though...

05-03-2003, 04:51 PM
Um, is #2 maybe a Faramir quote?
Firondoiel
05-03-2003, 06:50 PM
No and no. Is a hint in order?
Beruthiel
05-03-2003, 07:19 PM
Yes a hint please!

2. Gandalf
3. Grima
4. Elrond
It just sounded like Saruman. smilies/biggrin.gif
Firondoiel
05-09-2003, 01:45 PM
Correct! You're right it does sound like Saruman! But I think it's because he has a very similar line!
It will begin in the Rohan. Too long have these peasants stood against you. But no more.
Salix
05-09-2003, 04:47 PM
I actually meant that Gandalf's voice sounds like Saruman's. I was at school, so maybe I wasn't remembering correctly.
1. They will never stop hunting you.
2. Get the fire going!
Carlas
05-09-2003, 05:58 PM
1.Aragorn
2.Aragorn or perhaps Gandalf
Salix
05-09-2003, 06:18 PM
1. was correct, but 2. was incorrect. I should have said that one is from FOTR and the other one is from TTT.
Firondoiel

#2 is Ugluk in when the Uruk-Hai stop at the borders of Fangorn. I believe that orc was Ugluk any way. smilies/rolleyes.gif

2) Theoden
3) Gandalf
Firondoiel
05-12-2003, 01:48 PM
That's still not right on #2 and #3.
Salix
05-12-2003, 05:28 PM
1. Gimli
2. Orc in Ugluk's band who's name I believe is Roc.
3. Sam
Firondoiel
05-12-2003, 07:11 PM
Correct!!!! Carry on. smilies/smile.gif
Dondagnirion
05-15-2003, 09:32 AM
It has been three days so I am going to go now. Here are some new quotes
1."So am I."
2."That will cover all the world in darkness."
3."Will you do nothing?"
4."....acept them."
5."Does that comfort you?"
Too easy I think, everything has been done and I am trying to do new ones. It has also been increasingly hard for me to put up quotes since I do it without a script and just straight from memory.
Dondagnirion
Firondoiel
05-15-2003, 11:33 AM
Dondagnirion, you are supposed to wait 10 days. Give Salix a little bit more time.
Salix
05-20-2003, 08:32 AM
Sorry, I've been busy.
Get back!
What’s happening out there?
Both are TTT.
lothiriel
05-20-2003, 10:39 AM
I think I know those!
"Get back!" I think Aragorn called at Helm´s Deep.
The second one is Gimli, talking to Legolas at Helm´s Deep, when they are waiting for the enemies.
Salix
05-20-2003, 12:22 PM
First is incorrect, second is correct.
Faye Took
05-21-2003, 10:00 PM
I think it was either Merry or Pippin for the second quote.
Salix
05-22-2003, 12:39 PM
Lothíriel was correct on the second one, but incorrect on the first. Aragorn says a similar line in FOTR, but that particular line is in TTT.
lothiriel
05-22-2003, 01:07 PM
About the first one, is it Éomer?
I mean when the Riders of Rohan meet Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli? Does Éomer say "Get back" to one of his men then?
Salix
05-23-2003, 11:58 AM
Nope.
Firondoiel
05-23-2003, 12:49 PM
Isn't that Gamling at Helms Deep?
"Aragorn! Get back to the keep! Get your men out of there!"
It might have been Theoden that said it though. I can't tell which one it is.
Salix
05-26-2003, 12:10 PM
I'm afraid that's not what I was recalling either.

Hi! Can I join in?
OK, Firondoiel, I think you mean Theoden at Helm's Deep...
Now, one of my own:
1. Natha daged thaer!
2. Tollen i lû
3. Dartho guin beriain
I hope you don't mind my using Sindarin, I just happen to love the language. As for a hint, the first two are from TTT while the third is from FotR.

Am I incorrect too?
Salix
05-29-2003, 02:19 PM
I wasn't sure if you were guessing Ugluk gilraën. Yes, the answer is Ugluk. I thought that the quote was easy, but I guess it wasn't too straightforward.
gilraën
05-29-2003, 02:47 PM
Thanks, I guessed it was one of the orcs, and when Grishnakh was wrong it had to be Ugluk. smilies/smile.gif

Faye Took

Could it have been Gandalf to Frodo and Sam?
Finwe
05-30-2003, 08:21 AM
Nope. You're partly right though.
Wolf Larson
05-30-2003, 12:37 PM
It was Gandalf to Frodo alone.
Himaran
06-01-2003, 09:48 AM
Is it part of the extended eddition? Outside Moria? "Be careful, Frodo. Evil will be drawn to you from outside the Fellowship."
Ah... I know thats not perfect quote... I'll have to go watch the movie again. smilies/wink.gif
Orofaniel

I think Himaran is right...
