Pack up master bag. Wasn't that one of the Rohirrim to Merry in RotK? Elfhelm, maybe?

This game really doesn't have any unique aspect about it. Please read the Quiz Room Rules (http://forum.barrowdowns.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=5&t=000386) which also apply here. Just put a little planning into your games and we can all have more fun with unique and challenging games. Remember, no quote is necessarily harder than any other, especially if they all come from the same series. We already have two quote games dealing with purely LotR.

Your quote is Eowyn in disquise to Merry when Eowyn tells Merry that she will hide her and carry her on the trip to Gondor with the kings men.
Dondagnirion
"There is no spoon."

Olden. I am still in school so can't say I'm of the "older" smilies/wink.gif (The name was off the top of my head.) Okay, here's a quote: "...nothing much to give to you young fellows, except good advice." If you need more, I'll post it, but the next sentence sort of gives it away, so I won't post it now. But then, there's too many good quote people out there... smilies/rolleyes.gif smilies/smile.gif

Denethor?
Very wild guess. I just read past the part(actually, never mind, no spoilers for people who haven't read RotK yet!) where something happens to Denethor(RotK readers should guess what I mean), and I don't remember if it's from there, but it's a guess. I'm too lazy to check in my book right now.

Nope, that's why it's a valid quote game. These are supposed to be the hardest quotes, so I'm going to pick the hardest quotes.

I've been looking, but it took me some time and brain-racking to find this one!
this is Denethor speaking to Gandalf in Minas Tirith:
"For though the Stones be lost, they say, still the Lords of Gondor have keener sight than lesser men, and many messages come to them."
(Btw : This is almost a lie! At least Denethor is deliberately hiding the truth about the palantir from Gandalf. )

:) *g* Thank you, Beren.Merry is May-time!
Son of Númenor
09-21-2004, 01:18 PM
Those words are sung by a few of the Fair Folk, during Bilbo's visit to the Last Homely House.
Edit: Here is the song in full:
Sing all ye joyful, now sing all together!
The wind's in the tree-top, the wind's in the heather;
The stars are in blossom, the moon is in flower,
And bright are the windows of Night in her tower.
Dance all ye joyful, now dance all together!
Soft is the grass, and let foot be like feather!
The river is silver, the shadows are fleeting;
Merry is May-time, and merry our meeting! :)
Guinevere
09-21-2004, 01:35 PM
You are of course right, Son of Númenor, that "Merry is May-time " is in this song.
But I had really another person in mind who actually quoted it: "Merry is May-time! " with an exclamation mark! Can you find that too ? or is that asking too much ? ;)
