Orofaniel

Okey, I really hope there aren's anyone else who have made a game like this....

You are supposed to find the correct order of the letters and find the quote. (The quotes should be from the LOTR book or the LOTR movies.) You should also find who said it and to whom....

This is mine....

hnet itlw ouht otn etl em deri itwh isht paconym , sa I evha keads ?

The one person who answers correct will do the next one...

GOOD LUCK!!!

Sleepy Ranger

Its from The Hobbit.

luthien-elvenprincess
02-12-2004, 08:10 PM
oh...haven't read The Hobbit yet. But, I'll venture a guess...
Now I wonder what has happened?
Did Bilbo say this?

Sleepy Ranger
02-13-2004, 01:37 AM
Yes Bilbo said it. But to whom?
Hint: A bit tricky.

luthien-elvenprincess
02-13-2004, 06:57 PM
Someone else must answer...I do not have The Hobbit to even look for the rest of the answer.
I could guess: Smaug, or one (or all) of the dwarfs in his companionship; Gandalf? ;)

Sleepy Ranger
02-14-2004, 01:36 PM
All wrong:eek:  :)

I have no idea who said that....um, just guessing; Aragorn to Eowyn?

Firefoot

Quite by accident, I found it.

"Why would that make you happy?" Legolas to Gimli.

Sleepy Ranger

Legolas to Gimli it is. :)

Hey don't look at me, I'm not answering this. We need more people to take an interest in quotes, so I'd like it if someone else answers, I'll just make it easier.

And we will not forget her

Hope to see some answeres now.

luthien-elvenprincess
07-16-2004, 01:47 PM
Sleepy Ranger, you did the easy part! ;) I found it quite unintentionally while re-reading just for enjoyment:
and we will not forget her!

Tom Bombadil said this to th hobbits. He was speaking of himself and Goldberry never forgetting the lady who once wore the blue-stoned brooch he was then looking at.

Sleepy Ranger

Sleepy Ranger, you did the easy part!

Hint: a hobbit said this toward the beginning of the journey of the ring

Encaitare
07-27-2004, 02:21 PM
"Are you still willing to help me" and I believe it is Frodo who says this, to the other hobbits once he learns that they know of the Ring and tells them what danger they are in.

luthien-elvenprincess
07-29-2004, 07:47 PM
"Are you still willing to help me" is correct. Frodo said it...but not to any hobbit.

Encaitare
07-29-2004, 08:44 PM
Hah! ::strikes triumphant pose:: I fetched my pretty Alan Lee-illustrated copy of the book and skimmed like mad.

It was Frodo to Barliman Butterbur in Chapter X, "Strider"

luthien-elvenprincess
07-30-2004, 08:06 PM
Good skimming, Encaitare. You are next!

Encaitare

Encaitare

Yup, that's right but before a new one can be posted someone needs to tell who said it to whom...

Morsul the Dark
07-31-2004, 09:49 PM
I do know I've read it just having a horrible horrible mind block.... is it Frodo to Gandalf? That doesn't sound right but this block is annoying me so thats the best I can do sadly

Encaitare
08-01-2004, 08:40 PM
Nope, keep trying. Hope the block goes away; I hate it when that happens.

even when he sneaks out at night it is only to look at the stars, I believe this is Saruman to Wormtongue?

It's Saruman speaking of Wormtongue... but not to him...

luthien-elvenprincess
08-15-2004, 02:22 PM
Mithalwen, the 'beard-curling' quote is found toward the very end of the chapter entitled Flotsam and Jetsam. Pippen is saying that Gandalf's beard would curl if he had ent-draught to drink! :)

Encaitare
08-15-2004, 07:14 PM

Well, I just saw Hugh in "the Boy from Oz," and now I will always envision him running about in Hawaiian shirts singing his heart out.
