Stump me! Ask me quotes...the first person to ask one I don't know is the next person in the hot seat. And the person in the 'hot seat' gets to slightly narrow it down. Slightly. As in, to a certain age or book or race.
My stipulation? A Hobbit has to say it.

Alright... Who said:
But I do it now, and why shouldn't I? Even if Gollum said the same once. It is his no longer, it is mine.
Sorry for my previous mistake.

It's not fair to assume the person in the hot seat has the entire set of works by Tolkien memorized. That was not said by a Hobbit, but a Mortal Man, as the quote itself says.
Hobbit quotes, please!

Okay then, who said this:
"Did you hear me calling, Master, or was it just chance that brought you at that moment?"
Not telling you which book it's in, cuz then you'll cheat!

Frodo to Tom Bombadil. I believe it was the second night they stayed there. He was asking whether Tom knew they were in danger of Old Man Willow or if it was just kawinkydink. smilies/wink.gif
next question?
I don't know what you mean.

Hold on, don't go without me! I went on vacation before I got to see this. That's what took me so long. OK, gimme a lil while to figure this one out. Congrats, Joy, you made me go hunt in the book. Be back later with the answer...
Merilot, are you still around.
If not, then I will find the quote that I gave you and ask that the game continue.

But I do it now, and why shouldn't I? Even if Gollum said the same once. It is his no longer, it is mine.
That wasn't said by a man. Bilbo said it.

You're right, Rose. He said it to Gandalf.

Here is a quote from a book...
"Splendid! But unless you've some guts for fighting you've taken the wrong way."

Argh, I get those two orcs mixed up (at least I think it´s an orc.) Ugluk or Grishnak? Wait, I´ll think of it soon.....

Sorry again you guys...
I am not gonna claim the next quote, just here are some answers for ya:
Joy's original question to me: I still dunno!
Quickbeam: Pippin, in the bath song
Eärendil got the orc one right
The one that I posted, adding to the confusion: Merry on the BarrowDowns after being revived
Telwilyeil: dunno, but it sounds like either Gandalf or Theoden or someone like that.
And it is either Rose Cotton's or Eärendil's turn, whoever gets here first, I guess.

All right, merlilot, since your original stipulation was for Hobbit quotes:
"All of them at once. "

That was Bilbo, by the way. But it is either Rose or Eärendil's turn to make a stpulation and be in the hotseat...I lost it by not answering and by not knowing your original quote...
Eärendil

I can take it then as Rose doesn´t seem to show up. Though, I am still not sure of what quotes I am supposed to post, so just tell me if I am wrong. smilies/biggrin.gif

Eärendil: you make a stipulation on the types of quotes youare asked...like I said that htey had to be said by a hobbit. You can narrow it down by race, book, place, time, or whatever...
[And the quote you posted was Merry to Haldir in Lorien]
Eärendil

Okay, I think I understand now, thanx. smilies/smile.gif
