Ok, here it is. I started reading the book of lost tales and there is a quote in here
that made me think:

"Then said Iluvatar: The story I have laid before you, and that great region of beauty
that I have described unto you as the place where all that history might be unfolded
and enacted, is related only as it were in outline..."

now I was wondering. Did Iluvatar know what's gonna happen in Middle Earth, I mean
all the wars and bad things??

It might be a silly question, but maybe someone's out there who got an idea about this.

Re: Music of the Ainur

This is a point of contention (and significant uncertainty). In the Books forum, probably on the second or third page by now, there is a thread named something like "The Role of Fate in Middle Earth" which I started about a month or so ago. This thread covers many of the issues you seem to be interested in, though I came across some interesting material in HoME 10 last night which may add additional light to the debate. If you can't find it, just post or private mail me and I'll help locate it.

were kindled clear, and waxing bright
shone like stars that in the North
above the reek of earth leap forth."
