This board came to me as I'm sitting at home, off schoo, with a really bad cold, reading member profiles...soem have the strangest hobbies..like collecting stuffed frogs...so I was wondering, what stupid hobbies would the people of Middle Earth have?

Boromir sits opposite Frodo, glancing at him occasionally, and rubbing his hands together nervously. Frodo sits listlessy, staring into the fire, the Ring weighing heavily on his mind. Sam shakes his head, and continues fixing Mr. Frodo's special dinner. He glances over at Boromir, and notices him watching Mr. Frodo."I'm going to keep an eye on him, just in case." he thinks to himself. Pippin and Merry sit together, tyring to see who can drink the most beer without breathing. Aragorn keeps a watchful eye on the river, looking for a log with pale golden eyes. Legolas stands, gazing at the moon, and singing softly in Silvan. Gimli sits close to the light of the fire, his brow furled in concentration . . . "Knit one, pearl two, knit one pearl two . . ."

Frodo hated mushrooms and stole pies off window sills

Sam was a lazy slug and sat around and watched tv all the time, and was never able to get back his figure.

Pippin took(hee hee I made a funny) computer classes at the Y.

Merry was kicked out of his hole as a teenager and did more than weed until he met pippin who took(haha again) him to his classes, that's when pippin developed his clumsy side and was kicked out. Merry is now a hacker.

I got a funny mental image when you mentioned that legolas knitted, him sitting beside his grandmother, learning to crochet.

Denethor hated Boromir as a child before Faramir because Boromir was a pyro(like father like son) than faramir came along and liked poetry and dancing so Denethor decided this was worse.

Aragorn(who was called Estel) was a real teachers pet and he was such a goodygoody, then he found out he was king and he was like, Hah! I rule you now.

Gimly was actualy scared of the dark and needed a night light, which burned down his room so he was expelled from the family and learned how to paint from his distant cousin floid.

Gandalf was never young but he did study science in his youth.

Eomer: Apprehending the love letters on their way to Rivendell & laughing at them with Denethor & Theoden.
