In TV land

I was thinking about Boromir, and what role he might have in the Lord of the Office, but then I thought, he would be like all the red shirt guys on Star Trek (the original) that goes on away missions with the rest of the real cast members, and he is always the one that dies.

What TV (or even other movies) characters could you see some the LotR characters being? (I'm sure we'd all agree Elrond = Matrix)
