The whole point of the awards is that they are meant to be tongue in cheek, and not serious. If you see someone get an award for something, they are likely getting the award for the exact opposite reason, i.e. Bethberry's recent in need of grammar and spelling help one.

I don't have really one favorite LotR character though...it's a tie between Boromir, Legolas, and Smeagol/Gollum.
