I wonder what the people o Middle-earth did in their free time. I mean, they didn’t have TV’s, DVD, video, Internet etc, but they must have done something to amuse themselves!

Legolas would sit on the grass brushing his long beautiful hair, looking into a mirror/water and say, "I am sooo pretty" to himself.

I keep having wierd impressions of Frodo and Sam watching Sesame Street... woops, no TV. My bad.
A little bird told me about free time in Rivendell... apperantly Elohir&Elladan were pretty good skaters, doing all these awesome Tommy-Hawk tricks on the rooves&stairs. Elrond on the other hands would busy himself with his gardenwork, and was known to be the best rosegardener ever, while his daughter Arwen would try out facemaskes and whine about wanting a palantir so she could watch Oprah on Palantir-TV.

yeh, Elrond pruning the roses... *giggles insanely*
Saruman sits down with a cup of tea and watches Channel Palantir before inspecting the torture chambers.
The trolls and orcs group together and play poker.

I know it sounds strange, but I can see Faramir doing flower arrangements in his free time. It's just... an image I can't get out of my head.
Aragorn and Boromir see who can throw rocks the farthest. Yeah, you thought the Uruks tracked them down, but they really just followed the sound of falling rocks. smilies/evil.gif

I think Boromir and Aragorn would probably practice fencing and so forth. Why else did Bilbo write his book except that he had nothing to do? Hobbits seem to have a lot of free time which they spend gardening, eating and drinking (and talking). I wonder what the Ringwraiths do in their spare time... smilies/evil.gif

It must get a little dull for Sauron in his free time, being just a giant eye and all. I imagine him watching all the pretty elf girls taking showers. smilies/biggrin.gif Hey if you can see everything....

Gandalf would probably spend all his spare time trying to blow smoke into interesting shapes.
*(Arggh! That wasn't a ship that was a tree!)
*(Curses! That one turned into a shapeless blob)

Ringwraiths would probably have shrieking contests. See who shrieks the loudest, Ringwraith #5 or Ringwraith #2, will you?

I would say there leisure is being with themselves and one another! As you can see a Hobbit is a creature that likes himself. In the book ‘The Hobbit’ we heard about Bilbo Baggins and how he spent hours with himself; spending days reading a good old book or hours eating cakes and food fit for a king, or just even sitting outside smoking his pipe and he really found these things interesting! Another Leisure (not for hobbits) is going on adventures! I suppose an adventure is packed with entertainment it could even be like living in your own movie! I think Middle-Earth is better than Earth because most of us lounge around in front of the computer (… smilies/wink.gif) or watching TV when we miss the great aspects of life!
