It reminds me of the foothills of the mountains I'm not really sure. That's where I get some inperation for scenery in my book I guess. Thanks. smilies/smile.gif

There's this apple orchard kind of near where I live that looks exactly like the trees outside of Isengard in FotR. It's very cool to drive past it. Btw, welcome to the 'Downs, Bain the Brave! smilies/smile.gif

I almost forgot to add my own.

There are sandhills near here, that give me a constant reminder of the 'barrow downs' whenever I drive by them. kind of lost and forlorn, with sparse vegetation holding them in moreless the same location. If I ever see stones on top, I'll get really nervous about them for sure.

The scene in 'The Fellowship' film when Frodo looks down the road and senses the Nazgual coming looks like somewhere near where I live.
And I guess technically Helm's Deep looks like a quarry near my hometown (because it was filmed there smilies/biggrin.gif ) but I only lived there for 6 months so I don't remember it.

I was stationed in the Eifel Mountains of Germany for a couple of years. I'd definitely say that a German Gasthaus is most certainly what I'd expect to see behind the sign at the Prancing Pony.

There are some small green hills near a hospital here, and looking at them, you almost expect to walk around and see a round door leading out, and some windows! They really look just like what you'd build a hobbit hole into!

The woods in my town remind me of Lorien during the fall; so golden and beautiful. My town is on the edge of a river, and it makes me think of the Baranduin, or maybe the Anduin. Nah, Baranduin. Anduin is too big.
