View Full Version : If I were a character I would...

Just what it sounds. If you could be any character in any of the books; who would it be and what specifically would you do? Now, I don't mean "Ilsiudur" and "I would have destroyed the ring!" I mean silighly more...fun things, for example things that you would do after the quest was ended or durring lulls in the quest.

Here's mine:
Pippin.
I'd have packed a whole bunch of Ale (never mind when I would have found the chance to do so...maybe I'd steal it from Tom...), and spent the cold, dark nights with the Fellowship making up silly drinking songs in my sexy accent. Then, when I got home to the Shire, I'd go to the pub and NEVER LEAVE!

All right, next?

If I were Denethor, I would have taken better care of my wife. She deserved better than an early death

If i could be anyone in the LOTR...i would be... Frodo

if i were frodo and i had the ring,( but there weren't nazgul or great eyes of sauron fallowing me around) i would put on the ring and have some invisible fun, like tapping people on the shoulders, tying their shoelaces together, drinking their mug of ale before they do....ahh, what fun...

Amen, Failivrin. But, if you went with that invisible idea, you could wait 'til Arwen wasn't around and have some fun that way with him!

I would marry Merry.
I would marry Merry if he asked me.
I would marry Merry even if he didn't ask me.

I'd be Diamond, and hang around in the Shire waiting for Pippin and marry him, heh heh... Or perhaps someone who manages to marry Boromir. I could try and change history! Or I'd be Eomer and kick Grimas slimy butt down the stairs and out of Edoras. Wouldn't it be fun to trip someone up so that they fall in a mud puddle? Especially if they're wearing white clothes. It's be fun to do something to Saruman (filthy traitor!) though he did get his come-uppance in the end.

Beanamir of Gondor

I would be a psychopathic Eowyn who knew from the beginning how much hotter the brothers of Gondor were than Aragorn, and steal Shadowfax before Gandalf got to him and ride to Minas Tirith and marry Boromir before he died. Maybe then he would have stayed behind and not gone with the Fellowship [who gives a flying Nazgul about the Ring]. And if Boromir was already dead I would marry Faramir because he's hot too.

Wait. Eowyn did marry Faramir.

I would be Eowyn and not ride off to war against the king's orders but would stay and do my duty, thus not killing the Witch-king, thus probably changing the whole course of the story and accidentally destroying everything. Odd how these things work.
Or else I would be an Elf and help Celeborn and Thranduil in restoring Emyn Lasgalen, then going to live in Ithilien.

I would be Eomer, and lay the smack down on Wormtougne before he poisioned Theoden's mind.

If I was Legolas, I would tell the others that the Uruk-hai were going to attack the Fellowship.

I'd have been Nerdanel, and I would have put a bit of sleeping draught in Fëanor's ale when he started talking trash about storming the ships at Alqualondë. I'd have taken the boys out on more fun trips, so they didn't trap themselves into useless oaths and ruin their lives. I'd have encouraged Fëanor to work on shipbuilding earlier in life and, well, I'd sign up with ABC (Aman Broadcasting Network) for an exclusive multi-season deal for a sitcom called Life with Fëanor and I'd have invoked good-natured fun at tense moments and cut to a commercial when he started ranting too much. smilies/wink.gif

Cheers!

I guess I would have been Pippin. I dont know why really, but the personality test I have tried here at Barrow-Downs said I was most like Pippin! :P

I would have been Finwë ( smilies/wink.gif) and would have been a lot harsher on Fëanor, instead of spoiling him rotten. I would make him to go the Time-Out corner a bit more often, if he kept oppressing his two younger half-brothers. I would have also stopped Indis from getting all those manicures for Finarfin. Perhaps then he would have gone to Middle-earth! smilies/wink.gif

P.S. I would have tried not to get killed by the Dark Lord. smilies/biggrin.gif

hm..if possible, I would be Glorfindel, and I'd go put a bunch of crushed sleeping pills in Arwen's meal so that when the time came for me to help save Frodo, there'd be no doubt that Arwen may suddenly (under a power so great, it can only be called 'PJ') rise up and usurp me, and moreover, steal my horse.

I would be Arwen or Rosie or somebody and go kiss Aragorn, Merry, Pippin, Frodo,Sam, and Faramir. Heck, I`d probably kiss Legolas while I was at it! smilies/biggrin.gif smilies/wink.gif smilies/tongue.gif

I would be a Nazgul just so I could have some fun while in the Shire looking for Frodo. (scaring hobbit children and the like)

Actually, I'd rather be Legolas because he is just awesome.

I would definatly be Eowyn. According to my brother it is because I want to marry Faramir. Hang on while I remove him from the premesis. Okay, my turn, umm... oh ya, besides what my brother said, I think she is an awsome character that can stand up for herself, and be what she needs to.

Well if I were myself in Middle-Earth I'd get in the fetal position and cry at the first sign of danger and beg Gandalf to take me home. Or I would slap Frodo steal the Ring and become the Dark Queen of Middle-Earth.

Now if I were a real character I'd probably be Pippin and I would have packed plenty of food, ale, and pipe weed for the long journey. Then I would have lived out my days with Merry and Treebeard after the whole war of the ring ended.

Maeggaladiel

Yeah! Beorn rocks!

I would be Faramir and call Family Services or the Health Department because my father is abusive. I would force him to pay for my counseling and sue him for the entire kingdom of Gondor. Then I'd have to get rid of Aragorn in order to keep the kingdom....

If I were Bilbo, I'd have hung around (invisible, of course) after the Party, to have a good laugh at all the folks coming by and finding the gifts I'd left for them.

No way- how did anyone not start this post earlier?

I would not be Eowyn (contrary to popular belief) but I would definitely be Rose Cotton, and when Frodo and Sam were walking out of the Green Dragon one night I would biotch-slap Frodo and say "Hey, don't you be takin' my man to Mordor!" and keep Sam home so he didn't end up mentally disturbed by that stupid Fellowship journey. "Take Bilbo instead, Frodo."

I'd be Eowyn because she finishes off the Witch-King; not to mention that she marries Faramir. I'd prefer to be a previously unknown half-elf who joins the Fellowship and marries Faramir. Hmmm, does anyone else detect a trend here? ;)

I would be a couple of people...

One of the trolls in The Hobbit so I would get to taste mutton. (never have, but I hear it is not the most pleasant of foods. Still curious, tho...)

My girly side says Eowyn for the generic Faramir reason.

And Fingolfin, because he is the greates elf ever to kick Morgoth's hide around Thangorodrim.
(yeah, I know he was crushed, but he went out with a bang that everyone heard.)

I would definitely be Arwen so i could join the fellowship and meet Eowyn and stuff. And probably set her up with Aragorn so I could run off with Legolas. Also i think its kind of unfair that she has to sit at home and watch the fun from afar and sew a flag for a battle but not actually participate in it. grr! :D

If I were a character, I would be a Nazgul, but I would gaurd the door to Mount Doom so that when Frodo came, I could snatch the ring from him to deliver Sauron and have a dark and bitter life.(<---or living death? )but if I failed, and he destroyed the ring, I would come to a dark and bitter end. Mwa ha ha ha!
(But what's in it for me?)

This is corny, but I'd have been Sam and would have went with Frodo and Gandalf, forget what they said. In the mean time, I would have gardened to my heart's content.

Hmm, indeed, I was thinking that when I saw that post, Lindir. "You would come to a dark and bitter end...and this is by choice..."

I would like to be gollum, just because I think it would be interesting to get into his mindset, and also, he seems to take things much more easily than most of the others in the films - betray friends? Psh, smallfry ;)

I don't know how to hyperlink, so you'll have to find the site manually, but there used to be a thread on Middle Earth Mirth called "Lord of the Green" about creating a ME Mini-Golf. It was kinda fun.

If I were Sam, I would refrain from calling Frodo "Mr. Frodo" and "My master" at a certain point. Especially after I'd saved him from Shelob, if not sooner. I know he was my boss when I gardened for him, but come on. If we weren't equal in our hobbit status by then, we never would be!

Hmmm, if I were any character, I think I would like to be Eowyn, just for the sole reason of being able to weild a sword. I also would like to be able to ride a horse without falling on my behind... I just think she is very cool and a strong character, someone I can relate to, seeing as all the guys I have ever cared for either liked someone else or were just not interested (just kidding! Well, not really).

And I would also like to be Faramir, just so I could yell at Denethor for being such an insensitive and mean dad...

Or Galadriel, so I can go on power trips, too, and make my robes fly out around me, which I think would be an effective way of getting my brother to take out the trash...

Yeah, that's about it...

If I were movie Denethor, I'd go to Gandalf to ask him how I might turn myself into a vampire. Denethor seems like he'd make an excellent vampire, because he overdramatizes everything, looks like death, and eats in such a way that you can just about fancy seeing blood running down his chin.

If I were Pippin, I would've sung a very obnoxious drinking song to Denethor in order to aggravate the holy hell out of him. Perhaps this would annoy Big D to the point that he chokes to death on his food.

I would let Gollum lead Frodo and I to the Stairs of Cirith Ungol so that I knew the way into Mordor, waited until Mr. Frodo fell asleep, and throw Gollum off the stairs! HAHAHAHA!!! When Mr. Frodo awoke and asked were he had gone, I would reply, " He must have run off, the old villian! So much for his promises!" and then without feeling any guilt, continue on our way. After the ring was destroyed, and we were safely home, I would confess to Mr. Frodo about what I did. Perhaps he would understand. :D

I'd be Sauron, but I wouldn't do something dumb like put all my power in a Ring. Not too smart for one of the Maiar I have to say. I'd definitely find another way to spy on everyone and enslave them. \

But I LOVED this line from Saraphim about Fingolfin, I laughed soo hard. "And Fingolfin, because he is the greates elf ever to kick Morgoth's hide around Thangorodrim.
(yeah, I know he was crushed, but he went out with a bang that everyone heard.)"
Loved it!!!!!!

I'd return from dead, gather all the faithful, create a transparent,go to Armenelos with all of them and start protesting that my great-grandchild should give the throne back to my other great-grandchild!
