Gather around the fire of storytelling, my friends, and let me tell you the story of Santa Claus.

Santa used to be the leader of a band of rebellious Elves in the Dark Days in the history of Middle-Earth. Upon the banishment of Melkor to the world without, the Ainur banished them to life on Earth, shrinking the stature of all the elves but one, the leader. Upon him was placed the burden of redeeming his wrongful actions by creating wholesomeness and happiness in the world today.

He was allowed to retain his powers as a Elf, which thus lends speed and aid to his mission every December 24th. The happiness that resulted from the joy of the children melted the dark heart of Santa, and for ages now he has brought life and hope to children. However, contrary to opinion, they do not, as far as we know, live in the North Pole. It's possible that they do, for climate and age do not affect them. They are unseen to the eyes of mortals, just as elves today are.

And that's the true story of Santa Claus as he lives today.

Too imaginative for this forum, I'm afraid smilies/biggrin.gif - I'm moving it to Middle-Earth Mirth... Have fun with it there!

I didn't know that Middle-Earth Meyhem was actually for laughs! I never bothered to check it out. But I like the new title better, much better.

The Elves got to be short because of their rebellion.

Oh wow!

Were they made to wear stupid green outfits too, or is that all propaganda?
