Hi!

So what will you be doing on Dec 17th? I mean have you planned your day?

Have you any great excuses for your bosses/teachers/parents to let you have the day off?

I'm not sure what i'm doing, i mean Dec 17th is a Wednesday and that means i will be at work smilies/mad.gif

But i will be off Thursday 18th smilies/biggrin.gif

Your thoughts!

I personally will be spending every Trilogy day (three days a week) trying to convince the teacher to take us on a field trip to see ROTK. If that fails, I will either be cutting school or going to see the first show after 3:00. Either way, I am definately going to see it on opening day. And I'm sticking to what I did last year: buying the tickets 4 hours early to ensure that I get in.

I'm with the the sci-fi/fantasy club at my school, and every year since FOTR came out, we have gone to see LOTR after school. This year is no exception.

Well - I'm very sure Dec 17 will pass just like any other day for me. ROTK will certainly air much later where I live.

But I'll give it two days-- then log on to see what you guys have to say about it! All the whines and praises (mostly praises, I'm guessing). I can see it now... smilies/wink.gif

In the wee hours of Dec, 17th, I will hopefully be watching RotK because of this (http://www.theonering.net/perl/newsview/8/1061833596), which will (hopefully - I'm praying!) be happening in the city closest to me. I can't wait, even if that doesn't happen! smilies/smile.gif

Well I actually have my day planned (tenitively)
My December the 17th will actually start on the 16th. I will go to school on the 16th from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the afternoon. Immediately after I get home I will do my homework, and hopefully get some sleep. I am planning on not going to see the first two films earlier in the evening just because I don't have the time. I am then planning to head out to the theater at 10:30 p.m. or earlier, to start waiting for ROTK. I will then of course start watching ROTK at about midnight. Leave the theater after it is done, and then go to bed. Waking up at 6:40 in the morning to get ready for school on the 17th.

I know I will be tired, but I am a senior in high school, and it will be well worth it.

I haven't exactly planned my day yet, but hopefully it will end up a bit like Gorwingel's. Since I have school the day after the midnight release, my mom and dad probably won't let me go see it then. But if I'm at my mom's house, I can easily sneak out around 11 PM and walk to the theatre. At my dad's, however, it would be much harder to sneak out. Normally I wouldn't be the type to sneak out of the house, but for something like the RotK...well, you know. smilies/wink.gif Otherwise, I will go to the first show after school is out.

I'm going to sound like a very UN-obsessed fan, but really, this is the best way to go see one of these movies. I mean, if you go to the premier, it's packed, and you can't really complain until it's over, when you've forgotten half of them. So I'll most likely end up going to see it a few weeks after it comes out, because there'll hardly be anyone there, and I can yell at the screen if I need to. Not that I don't want to see the premier, but...it's also cheaper this way. And I'm poor. smilies/frown.gif

I will be sitting in a prison, erm...classroom, bored out of my mind. O maybe I'll not be bored because I'm daydreaming about ROTK. I'm definatly going totry to see it the day it comes out, but my parents might not let me smilies/frown.gif

I have the parent problem also, I'm lucky if I see it the day after the opening! So I'll most likely watch my extended versions (when I get TTT one) over and over and mope around school until the day comes. But hopefully my luck will strike by then. smilies/biggrin.gif

Same here. smilies/biggrin.gif My dad is taking me and a few friends to the MIDNIGHT SHOW out at the Commons. So we'll be spending all day on the 16th out at the theater, see the movie at midnight, go home and get a little sleep, then get out to the Landing (other theater), and see it again!!! And we'll have costumes and be eating lembas, ent draught, and skittles. smilies/biggrin.gif

I'm going to the midnight marathon, to see all three movies, and take free from school the day after (because I will be very tired)..

P.S. what does it matter if the theatre is full? you can still yell at the screen, and it can even earn you some weird looks!

!I WILL BE WAITING ANOTHER 10 DAYS OR SO UNTIL ROTK IS RELEASED IN AUSTRALIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ITS NOT FAIR!!! WE NEVER GET ANYTHING WITH EVERYONE ELSE! What is so wrong with us that we dont deserve it! Man it makes me VERY angry... So when its like dec17 here on the downs everyone will be talking about it and ill be like.."yeah..um.." Not happy JAN!

Normally a normal person would be fine with it, but i am so addicted to movies its not funny, it happens with every movie! No jokes, my friends come to me and ask what movies are released when? ,plot?, characters?, actors?, who produced?, who directed? and which studio made it. A major kick in the guts for me.

You have my sympathies Everdrawn. As for me i will be no doubt attending the premiere with one of my friends who's as obsessed as i'm am about Tolkein. I will be in school for most of the day, and in the evening will most likely be going slightly mad with anticipation (this presuming that my parents let me go and see the movie on my own - I don't like going to see films I really want to see with other people for some reason)

It will be the second-to-last day of Midterms at my school, although I will dress up as an Easterling spy. I've got quite a convincing costume being made, and I'm even going to paint my face with the gold and black designs that the Haradrim have in the Two Towers. It's going to be so cool! I'll wear the costume again that weekend when I go see it with my friends.

smilies/smile.gif Same here... I just can't wait... I'm going to beg and plead with my parents to let me skip school during the day to go see RotK... I hope it works. I'll be so excited... I already am! I just can't wait! *argh* This longing is slightly irritating... I wanna see it! *breaks down and cries*

I'll probably just break down crying near the end, and then when the credits start, just not have the energy or real desire to get out of my seat. Then I'll just sit there crying my eyes out over the credits and whatever sad song they have for RotK.

I'm in a program here in Ohio where I can take either high school classes or college classes. It's great. <3. I have Spanish IV at 8 in the morning, then the rest of my classes at the nearest university. Luckily, the university has no classes during December. That means I can go and do whatever I want all day. I'll be seeing the first show I can reach, and maybe another after that. Just depends on what's allowed. ~_^

ONLY A BOX? I fear I'll have to invest in the Kleenex company, I'm such a bawler.

Hm. This the first time I'll actually be working that time of year, but depending on the schedule of the one I'll be seeing ROTK with (the LOTR movies have been my Christmas present from him for the last two years...well, wait, there was the Sam in Moria action figure....)ANYWAY, for SURE I'll be wearing my hand-made Hobbit style dress and hopefully the travel cloak I'm having made... smilies/biggrin.gif...THEN, 17th or another day, I shall go to said movie and BAWL MY EYES OUT!!!!

I wrote this earlier! I would have troubles dealing with my mum, because it's a school night. So I loose either way.

No-Oh....Not anymore!! smilies/wink.gif

I talked with my parents today, and they said I could go! I was very surprised because it's...um...quite ...late! And it's a school night. And on the top of it all: My dad offered himself to drive me!!!! So, I don't have to take the bus... smilies/smile.gif

My oh my...and here comes the best part: I don't have to sleep outside in a looooong queue to get the tickets, someone else is going to do it for me. I have to say that I'm not...um..jealous of them, sleeping outside in the cold. (We have snow in December!!)

Anyway, so now, I'm planning to make a costume, and stuff. Probably ears as well.

Just so I make myself clear: I'm going to the see ROTK on the 17th of December, (If I get tickets....)

So, toaday, is my lucky day!!!
I hope it all turns out for you guys!

My mother, who could be considered a newly minted LOTR fan, has been trying to get everyone from her work to come on the 17th and become part of the Line Party. She actually has been quite successful. But, yes, many of them are worried about how they will get tickets (but some of them never go on the computer, so they know nothing about Fandango). I can't wait for Dec 17 though, it is going to be such a great night.

But yeah, I shall be seeing it with my friends after school. Like last yeah. And it'll be at about 3:00pm, and I can guarantee the cinema will be packed full of adults for whatever reason...I swear they ought to be at work at that time...
And I shan't be dressing up, because hello this is England...but I will wear my One Ring. (Which is silver and not on a chain. But never mind...)
But talking about costumes, I'm going to make a dress based on one of the costumes for my textiles coursework! So cool man...thank god we were able to make up our own briefs...

The other day, my sister emailed me from Savannah asking when ROTK comes out. I told her the release date was Dec. 17 and I was hoping to go see it that day. She emailed me back saying, "Ok, we're going together then. Mark it on your calendar." My sister tends to be a bit insistent. smilies/smile.gif

So, we plan to go together on the 17th as long as my dance team doesn't perform at a basketball game that night. I just hope she doesn't regret coming with me when I put on my BD t-shirt, talk non-stop Tolkien, and squeal when the movie starts. smilies/rolleyes.gif

My December 17th (like others) will hopefully start on the 16th... I'll go to school (but won't be able to concentrate) because (fingers crossed) i'll be going down to the commons after school and watching the marathon (EE FOTR, TTT, then premier of ROTK) YAYNESS!!!!! I'll get home really late, go to bed, get up by 6:00 to go to school... come home... go to work... and go watch ROTK again! If I survive the horrible wait the day (or even week) before the 17, I'm going opening day!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe even dress like an elf smilies/biggrin.gif Or hobbit... So I'll be sitting in the theatre, probably with my friend who's also a LotR freak, watching RotK!!! We'll both be going crazy during the previews leading up to it, and I won't be able to contain my excitement when it actually starts!!! Then I'll be really excited, cry a lot during the movie, get really mad if Aragorn does end up kissing Eowyn or if they change anything else too drastically, cry the whole way through the ending, then leave the theatre extremely sad that it's all over, but incredibly happy I go to see it. Then I might just go buy tickets for the next week so I can go see it again.
I can't wait!!!!!!!!! aahh!!! The torture of waiting!!!! smilies/mad.gif

Oo. Things've changed a lot for my plans. smilies/biggrin.gif My English prof decided that he's going to take our class out to the premire of The Return of the King. I'll go with them on December 17, then later on that week/weekend, I'll be going with one friend, then later on I'll be going with another. smilies/biggrin.gif I might dress up as an elf for one of these, if I get my act together. I have the perfect dress for it.

At some point, I'll be watching all three movies back to back to back, hopefully. It's looking like my local theater isn't going to show them, but luckily, I have a friend in a big city. I'm sure someplace there'll be showing 'em all. ~_^

I will more than likely not see LOTR until next year, as the person I usually go to see it with (there is NO Theatre in my hometown, and I do not drive, my co-LOTR fan does) has too tight a work schedule. No matter. When I DO go, I will be wearing my handmade Hobbit dress (ala Rose Gamgee), and my gorgeous one-of-a-kind purple travel cloak from the Raefindel collection, and I shall enjoy myself anyway! smilies/biggrin.gif

Gee, Samwise! If you lived near me, I'd come and get you and make a hobbit gang of it! (Well, two anyway!) I'll be dressed (sort of) as Frodo Baggins, simply because my regular clothes are rather hobbitish and I think my cobbled together outfit somewhat resembles Frodo. smilies/wink.gif You'd have to put up with the arrow-through-the-head husband Boromir, though! smilies/biggrin.gif (I can't find any groups going around here, but I'll go in costume if I have to be the only Frodo Baggins in Tennessee!)

Cheers!

That's awfully kind, Miss Lyta--LOL--I wonder if you wouldn't regret that decision, though after five minutes of my spouting Sam lines and reffering to you as "Mr. Frodo" (considerin' how you said you'd be dressed, an' all.) smilies/wink.gif

Heh heh...that'd be NOTHING to the lines I'd probably spout at you, Samwise, seeing as how you said you'd be wearing a dress and all! smilies/wink.gif

Mock Frodo lines: "There's an awful lot I didn't know about Samwise Gamgee...he's the chief conspirator and all, but the dress! Now that's really something! You can still surprise me, Sam!" smilies/biggrin.gif

My LOTR experience will also begin on December 16 at 2:15 p.m. Three of my closest friends and I managed to get tickets to the marathon in my city. I'll pick one friend up at work at noon, pick up the other two friends right after that, and then go to the cinema to stand in line for good seats! Luckily, my finals are this week, so no school. Since I work for my school newspaper, there is no work during the holidays either, so I'm pretty much doing nothing these days! I was going to use this time to try and make an Arwen dress to go with my necklace, but my friends said they wouldn't be seen with me if I wore a costume, so there you go! I wish I could go with some of you guys who are going in costume! It would be a blast! Oh well! I'll be seeing ROTK at 11 p.m. on Dec. 16!

I will be doing some retail therapy with Everdawn, sobbing over how deprived we are of on-time entertainment, then sobbing becuase other chicks around the world will see Karl Urban in a new movie before we will. And then we will get some movies and ice-cream andwatch repeats of TTT and Ghost Ship in an attempt to satisfy ourselves.

Then we will play the waiting game till boxing day, which i cant even see ROTK 1st thing boxing day becuase im working at the Boxing Day sales so i will have to wait till night time!

At least we get Peter Pan on the 17 becuase ROTK is coming out then so it doesnt want competition with ROTK...

Well, let's see....
Ont the 16th, I have a Dramatic Literature exam from 7-10 pm. After I'll start studying again, and hopefully sleep in on the 17th. Then I'll study again, and write my Linguistics exam from 7-9 pm.

Maybe, if I'm very, very lucky, I will be able to get in for the next day's showing, although I have yet another night exam on the 18th.

Hm. Well, I was thinking today (actually I think more than just TODAY, but... smilies/wink.gif )
The 17th is on a Wednesday. I have Bible study that night. So, because my Hobbit costume is a dress, I'm wearing it to church that night, with my cloak, too! smilies/biggrin.gif

I wore the Hobbit dress to church once already and got lots of compliments on it (nothing to do with me, it was my dress designer), and I should get compliments on my cloak, too, 'cause it's gorgeous, and after all was made by a real live Elf! smilies/biggrin.gif

Heh heh...that'd be NOTHING to the lines I'd probably spout at you, Samwise, seeing as how you said you'd be wearing a dress and all!
And Miss Lyta, on the other side of this computer screen I'm a she, just so you know. smilies/wink.gif Been spouting Sam lines for ages.

*excited squeal* I got to go, my parents actually let me go!!!!!!! smilies/biggrin.gif smilies/biggrin.gif It's the best one of the three films; even though they cut out an hour or so of film. I'm so tired, but sooo happy; I never thought that they would let me go, but they did!!!

Well, I've decided to make the best of a bad situation, and I'm going to write my Linguistics exam in Elf-garb. Good thing a friend of mine was a princess for Halloween; I really didn't know what to do for a cloak.

Oh, and I'm wearing a sign on my back saying "I'D RATHER BE AT ROTK"

Oh, dear...feel better soon,Maika.

Well, won't be going to ROTK tonight, but my Hobbit dress is ironed, and my cloak is hanging beside it, ready for me to change into them. At about 6:30 tonight I will then be walking to church. No where NEAR as far as Rivendell or someplace like that, but hey... smilies/wink.gif

I'm sitting here, being sad because I don't get to see it until Sunday (My mother won't let me because of school... Stupid school). Oh. And I am also sad because I just realised that I forgot to wear a costume to school. I curse my forgetfulness!

And Miss Lyta, on the other side of this computer screen I'm a she, just so you know. Been spouting Sam lines for ages.Oh, I did know, Samwise! I was just poking a little fun with a sort of twisted perspective! (What would Frodo have said if Sam appeared for a social function wearing a dress?) smilies/wink.gif

Cheers!
Lyta

P.S. ONE person recognized my Frodo outfit--husband's three minute Aragorn went totally unrecognized, except for a mother of 3 or 4 who identified him as "that crazy man." She didn't know I was listening, either! smilies/biggrin.gif That's OK! That means he pulled off the whole "Strider" thing pretty well! Most who met him (Aragorn, I mean!) in that guise thought he was scary and a bit crazy as well!
