Which of these two has clearly never read HoME XIII - Bombadil's Boots, especially the section titled "Enigma Transformed"; which contains Tolkien's detailed plans for revising the etymology and philological foundation of Bombadil's rhymes.

Re: Sharkű or ręd?
Those two miscreants never even heard of [i] The Book of Lost Tales XI - "The Barrow of Foul Play" in which is told how Bombadil was really a wight himself, but cross-dressed as some kind of hippy Gypsy wandering in the woods.

Nor, of course, have they heard of -- let alone read -- Lost Tales X - Bombadil Baby Steps, where we see Tolkien toy with early conceptions of a winged "Tim" Bombadil shortly after his return from WWI.

I'm sure that Red hasn't even cracked open "Derry dol, Memoirs of the Witch King".

Even if I knew what you were talking about or whether this is a joke or what (as I am only on HoME II: The Lost Tales 2) I don't want to vote because I respect Sharkű and ręd would verbally assault me when I'm in the chat if I chose her!
Does that mean you don't respect me, Vanima? ;)

I love you red! It's just that you are very forceful...and Sharku holds the magic boot key on the Chat, remember...that boot key is very powerful at times.

Estelyn's thread in Books on Goldberry and Ulmo necessitates the bumping up of this thread.
I was sure there was a post in this thread, although it appears to have been deleted or lost in the various forum changes, which considered how Goldberry was a The White Lady of the Old Forest, and that she didn't fall in love with Tom until she had been rejected by Ulmo.
Or perhaps it was something Mithadan brought up in chat in relation to his post about Derry dol, Memoirs of the Witch King ?
