Here is the second edition of "How to freak your friends out with LOTR: Highschool chaos"

oh, and just to tell you now, there is no link to these, these are from conversations on posts that I saved from a site, that is not up and running at the moment, so no linky, sorry. And I didn't come up with any of these, by the way.

~When you're doing nothing at your desk create little Fellowship characters with you erasers (by drawing the faces on them of course!). Recite the words, "let's hunt orc" and then throw your characters at your make-shift orcs (usually fellow students and teachers are the best targets).

~Follow your teacher around all day. Try to beat sam's record of only leaving Frodo's side by 4 inches. [ note: this is not meant to offend Sam, if it was, I wouldn't have put it on here ]

~Grab a horse and become a Ringwraith and ask your classmates this question: BAGGINS? SHIRE?

~Tell all your classmates to meet you in shop class to "experience" the finest Longbottom Leaf in (insert the name of your school here).

~Go shoeless for the entire length of the school year.

~Whenever the Principal comes on over the intercom, shield your eyes as if the firey eye of Sauron were upon you.

~Gather a fellowship with the different kinds in your school: a jock, a geek, a popular girl and the weird Goth kid. Attempt to sit down at a table together during lunch to discuss the events for Homecoming. Count how many minutes go before an argument ensues.

~Paint the "White Hand of Saruman" on your face with white-out and ask the cafeteria lady for man-flesh.

~Whenever there's a teacher near start blowing a ridiculously big horn, and proclaim you are the Son of Gondor...

~"No-one bullies a dwarf!!!!"

~start filling in your exams in Elvish, only answer in Elvish, put on you most arrogant face and tell the gym-class teacher he breaths so loud you could have tackeled him in the dark

~Let all the Children flock to your banner and go on a quest to destroy the evil Prinzipal

~Bring a dead fish to class and gloat over it, "My Preciousssss! Niiice fiiish!"

~Don't wash your hair for three months, dress in dark clothing and a long cloak, and declare yourself the true King; therefore you do not have to do homework

~Walk across the lunch tables like an elf.

~Munch your saltine crackers () and keep refering to them as lembas, insisting you need it to stay alive.

~If in Anatomy, shudder at the sheep/cow/etc eye you dissect and claim that the Dark Lord is watching you.

~If in Geography, label your maps with places in ME or Aman

~When your teacher speaks whisper loudly," there is a fell voice on the air."

~Ask for lembas and mushrooms at the cafeteria

~Sing the song hey!Dol!merry dol!

~Show up dressed in BRIGHT, TACKY, outfit. Claim to be Sauruman of many colours

~Whenever you see a crow, yell "Crebain from Dunland!" and hide under your desk. This works at home just as well; hide under your dinner table during a meal. Guaranteed NOT to please your parents

~complain about not having second breakfast

~use the phrase "fool of a took" whenever someone does something really annoying or stupid

~Make up amusing alternative lotr words to the skool song and sing them REALLY loudly

~Begin to cultivate hobbit weed on the skool sports field and then make a fortune selling clay pipes to all and sundary![ note: I would not recomend this, but it's still funny to think about!]

~Select 8 fearless companions and tramp through the corridoors on a perilous quest to seek for the chocolate filled vending machine. Run down any teachers in your path with cries of 'lets hunt some orc' and 'they have a cave troll' when you see the principal. Oh and remember to dramatically drag yourself the last few feet( when you discover that you have no money and the quest was in vain shout 'i have fallen into darkness')

~Forge 9 rings of power in your shop class (and of course a ruling ring 4 yourself). Then prance about like an idiot displaying all 9 on your fingers until some teachers spot them and confiscate them according to the 'no jewelry rule' unknowingly becoming slaves to your will

~When the principal walks past fall to the floor clutching your throat and gasp that the black breath is upon you and you can only be cured by some obscure or non existant herb, or even better the touch of a true king...

~doodle LOTR scenes all over your work, with your own captions, like the nazgul doing the macarena...

~Okay... your least liked teacher comes in the room...
One of your friends jumps up and screams: “Ai Ai a Balrog!” You get up (long knotted twisty staff in hand) and say “What an Evil Fate has befallen us, I am servant of the Secret Fire Wielder of the Flame of Anor You SHALL NOT FAIL ME!!!” (bang staff athoritatively on ground)

~At 11:00 raise your hand and politely inform the class that its
time for elevenses.

~turn on your classroom light and shout "Gilthoniel, A Elbereth!"

~Act out the bridge of Khazad-dum scene in the hallway.

~Memorize important dates from Tokein's life and from the history of Middle-Earth, and talk about them in history.

~Insist on wearing a grey 'elven cloak'.

~Wear pointed ears for your senor pic

~Talk as many people as you can into dressing like ringwraiths for prom

~Make lembas in home-ec

~Take your freinds to the mirror of galadriel(the toilite)

~Draw a sword with a blue blade and cut it out. go by ateacher. pull it out and say "An orc is near!"

~When some one farts say "The Ents are atacking!"

~Get one of the bookmarks with the one ring on it and wear the ring on a chain around your neck and refer to it as your precioussss and yell at anyone who dares to look at it.[ I've actually done this one!]

~When the teacher wants to give you you're test mark and it's bad, grab your ruler, and cry '' BACK! back, you devil!!'' (When it's a tall teacher, also call him ''Longshook'')

***Get on a fake horse at the grocery store (those litte ones you pay 25 cents to ride on) and act like Gandalf The Grey riding his horse in a hurry.[ I know it doesn't have to do with school, but it was funny anyway]

Run down any teachers in your path with cries of 'lets hunt some orc' and 'they have a cave troll' when you see the principal. I'd hate to see the consequenses for that one, but it's still funny. I don't think I'd do any of the things on that list, but it's fun to imagine what would happen... smilies/evil.gif

Hilarious list! I graduated this year, so I won't get to try any of these out (I probably wouldn't anyway), but it's funny thinking about what could have happened...

~Walk across the lunch tables like an elf.

Such a skill would have been very useful at my school, where the Senior class was over 700 students. It would work best upstairs in the hall, walking on the hand railing despite the enormous drop to the first floor (with the passing period rush, I'm surprised no one actually has fallen down yet).

I especially liked the Black Breath one. The principal would kill me for that, regardless of whether I am a goody-two-shoes or not.
Haha! These were all good.

Hahahahahahaha! Oh they are funny!!! Of course I would never have any more friends and sit in detention for the rest of my life if I tried any of those (there is NO ONE in my school who likes LOTR, amazingly, except for me). But I like this one:

~When you're doing nothing at your desk create little Fellowship characters with you erasers (by drawing the faces on them of course!). Recite the words, "let's hunt orc" and then throw your characters at your make-shift orcs (usually fellow students and teachers are the best targets).

Haha! I think I'd try that one! That one is funny!!!!

They'd probably ring for the men in white, but hey, its always worth a go..

These are great! Though I don't think I would actually do any of them. I like the first one.

There are only 4/5 people I know who like Lotr. So we always meet offer to go on crazy missions for the teachers. Like ex. to go and find a janitor to turn on the air conditioner, and then shout "we will find him, though we don't know the way" and crazy things and such

Galadel Vinorel
08-16-2002, 10:22 AM
I think that I might actually do one. You know the one about putting the ring on a chain an dcarrying it around your neck, well, some of my friends and I might do that one. These are HILARIUOUS!! smilies/biggrin.gif

Lady_Galadriel
08-16-2002, 10:56 PM
My friends and I always have been wearing the rings. In fsct when I went to get mine, I took a chain with me, and just the second after it was officially mine, I stuck it on the chain!

(might i sugest to get more than one One Ring, on account of after you wear it a while, the gold paint begans to wear off... The first one I got is almost silver now.

Azaelia of Willowbottom
08-17-2002, 08:36 AM
HAHAHAHA Those are great!! The scary thing is, I've done two on the list, and might consider doing others... (Actually, I wouldn't do anything too bad. I'd rather not have a teacher drag me to the principal's office, thanks.) I laughed so hard picturing some of those! Actually, my friends and I all wear the One Ring... other people think we're crazy, but whatever. We're total geeks anyway, so nobody pays any attention to us smilies/biggrin.gif

And one time, on the last day of school, my friend and I walked past thisa art creation that looked like this GIANT EYE!!! I started fake-screaming and saying some stupid stuff like "AAAH... The Eye of Sauron is upon us... AAAH It's watching us!"
I was so embarrassed after, and very glad nobody else was in the hall with us. I call my very tall friend Strider. It really annoys her, hehehe. My friend that is the same (Short) height as me is Merry and I'm Pippin. The wierd thing is that we really act like Merry and Pippin. I've been called "Fool of a Took" many times before.
This is the way school should be!
One day wer had AIDS/HIV Awareness day, and one really tall 11th grade guy dressed up in all these black robes. He was "Death" And he'd tap you on the shoulder and give you a red sash and you'd be "dead from AIDS" for the rest of the day, and you couldn't talk at all, not even to your friends. He didn't "kill" me, but I saw him in the hall on my way to Study Hall, and me and my LOTR-poisoned mind turned around and ran. I thought that there was a Black Rider in my school!!! AAAH! (Really, it did give me a heart attack!) I kinda let my imagination run away with me there. **embarrassed face**

Hahaha these are really funny but i wouldn't even dare do it at all. Firstly, nobody gives a damn about LOTR in my school, we have to wear uniforms, no silliness in the class, no jewelry at all....my school is no fun at all.
And if anything like this happens, my name will be blacklisted on my record...for example...If your nails are too long, you'll be punished...
Such stupid rules.

Hey orlandoandsaran your school sounds just like mine. No-one DOES give a damn about lotrs in my school either, plus the teachers are well strict! If your tie is out of place by an inch your done for! You're right about the stupid rules! smilies/rolleyes.gif smilies/mad.gif smilies/rolleyes.gif

Yeah, I used to go to a school that didn't let you grow your nails. To be frank, it was the stupidest school I've ever been to. Anyway, I could do some of the things, but I'll have to do it on my own...my friends won't join in LOTR based freakiness, and look at me as if I was slightly insane. Sho' is lon'ly bein' a LOTR fan..

I'm definatly doing the one with the erasers and the drawing pictures one too.

I'd have to work up some curage but I wouldn't mind some of the teacher insults either. smilies/evil.gif

This is not that intresting but starting a week before the LotR movie came out I would put a countdown on the board every morning. My classmates didn't appreciate it much.

walk across lunch tables like an elf?
i already did it. on the last day of 8th grade (the last day i'd ever see my friends again, too) we basically went insane. when lunch was over, we jumped onto the tables and made a mad dash for the doors, luckly, we weren't caught. hehehe

orlandoandsaran your school sounds way stupid. My school isn't nearly that strict. Luckily most of my friends love Lord of the Rings. During Theatre class we'd all go sit in a corner and talk about Lord of the Rings. It was fun.

I know my school sucks... smilies/mad.gif smilies/mad.gif

But it really isn't that bad. I don't get picked on about LOTR eand my frens just play along with me and good things we don't ahve to wear ties! We were supposed to wear it starting this year since the guys always unbutton their shirts till you can see their bods but since my place is so damn hot, the school decided not to do it.
But sigh...not a lot of people don't like LOTR in my school and it doesn sometimes get pretty lonely with nobody to talk to about LOTR.

Maybe I'm just overexaggerating...we can actually wear jewelry but it's only for religious believes and you need a pass from the disciplinary teacher.
But i acutally can do the things because the teachers are pretty dumb and they won't really kill you...the best victims are my English and Moral teachers..
Yes...can you belive it? I have a subject for Moral!!

Don't worry people with sucky schools, mine is the same. But it's a low budgett sucky school with stupid rules, so I can guarentee that we would have more stupid rules if we had more money..stupid nazi of a principal...
we actually can wear jewlery, but if someone wears too much of it, the school nazgul will come and get you!! and get this..our pants can't touch the ground! smilies/mad.gif ! one of my friends actually got in trouble for her pants touching the ground because she's short..she's like 4'11", so her pants are usually long..and the Spanish Nazi/Nazgul (spanish teach) sent her to the office...grrrr...
we have to tuck our shirts in, see-through bookbags, they took away lockers this year, no backless shoes, next year we get uniforms..well..not really, because they aren't buying them. It's really like a stricter dress code...no jeans and a shirt with a collar.
but to finish up my post, I feel your pain..woo woo woo

P.S. I'm glad you all enjoy this thread! and oh how happy I am that I made it *does a happy hobbit dance* smilies/biggrin.gif smilies/biggrin.gif smilies/biggrin.gif

I'm a lonely LOTR fan as well, although my one friend recently watched LOTR (but hasn't read the book) and although I had to explain practically the whole movie to her, she liked it! Could I not be alone anymore? Could it be?

Maybe, but I guarantee she won't be painting the White Hand of Saruman and asking the lunch lady for man-flesh, or saying "lets hunt some orc" with me anytime soon.

However she might go along with the "they have a cave troll" part. She liked that part.

Our school isnt that strict. Its a public so they cant really make us wear uniforms. I would die at your schools. My mom threatens to send me to a private school but she knows ill just skip class so she doesnt really have a choice. Im defently trying some of those things. Nobody at my school likes it quite as much as me but oh well and least there are some people. I have a replica of WKs ring and i wore to church today and the preist kept staring at it cuz its got a red eye and a skeleton on it so i think im not gonna wear that one to church anymore.

Gamgee
08-19-2002, 01:54 PM
yes, our schools suck..but sadly, this IS a public school..*sigh* ahh well, no time to lolly gag...(did I ACTUALLY just say that??) I'm suppose to be doing a 200 word essay about why I want to join student council and what not...it's a requirement to get in...ahh well
as for actually DOING some of that stuff on the list, I might try doing some of the low risk things...ya know, things that won't go on my permenent record.

I know what I'M going to be doing when September comes around. Losth & I will have some fun with THESE (we're in the same school).

However, I doubt they will have much effect because it is a well known fact at my school that we are thoroughly evil (think firecrackers, forks, blackboard erasers with bits of chalk stuck in them so they scribble all over the board when u try to erase anything etc.) smilies/evil.gif smilies/evil.gif smilies/wink.gif

I just have to share this... yesterday after waiting in the cafeteria lunch line for a long time the lunch-lady-man asked me what I wanted for lunch. (the choices being pizza, tacos, or hamburgers) but instead of choosing one of them I asked if by chance they had any rotten-man-flesh left over... The guy just looked at me with an odd look on his face, and handed me a plate of pizza.

Then on the way back to class I asked my friend if she knew how to walk like an elf. Then asked if she wanted to test her skill by walking down the hand rail by the stairs... We didnt do it, but it woulda been fun. as long as we didnt fall down the other side. Now that is a long way down. ouch...

I really liked the one aboyut forging the rings! That would be good except I don't do shop! I do textiles, although I am making a Galadriel costume for my GCSE project (I'm in England). I'm in my last year of what (I think) in the US would be junior high(I'm 15), and we're at school from 8.30 to 14.00, so we eat lunch at 11! Elevenses! So if I start eating breakfast twice, and having afternoon tea, I'll be a real, seven-meals-a-day hobbit!
I'm a bit of a lonely LOTR fan too. There's three girls and four boys in my year who likes LOTR. Not very many.. But that's about 6% of all the people in my year..

heh heh heh , those are very funny! I've got to see how many of them I can try before I'm kicked out of school!!! Last year, for grad we had to make our faces out of construction paper (very stupid and pointless in my opinion) and i made mine look like an elf with long hair and big pointy ears. I got very strange looks.

Get on a fake horse at the grocery store (those litte ones you pay 25 cents to ride on) and act like Gandalf The Grey riding his horse in a hurry.[ I know it doesn't have to do with school, but it was funny anyway]

By the way, those are really funny! I already complain about second breakfasts being banned in our house, and my books all have their very own eye of sauron, besides various other doodles! smilies/evil.gif

I have done one of these, just a couple of hours ago, as a matter of fact. I was thinking about one of the questions on one of my tests. I got bored and doodled a Ringwraith on my paper. It wasn't a very good picture, but I left it there anyways. It's also not very detailed, but that's okay. Also, I am currently wearing the one ring that I got off my bookmark. No one has really looked at it, so I haven't had to yell at anyone yet! smilies/wink.gif Well, all of these sound funny, but i don't know how many I'd have the courage to try! Today during pe my coach passed out papers explaining the rules of tennis. While he was yapping something about foot faults and service lines, I doodled a pic of a wraith and a zortonian playing tennis... Quite odd, actually.
Then the coach saw and confiscated my pen... smilies/frown.gif I yelled my preciousssss! Thats mine! and all this other stuff, but it made no difference.
Then I found a piece of chalk on the ground (or maybe it wasnt chalk, but it wrote on the ground well so...) Well I drew the tolkinen symbol thing under the bench on the tennis court! I wonder how long till someone discovers it! smilies/biggrin.gif

Heehee: I'm sending a link to these to my friends...

And I do mutter "My precious" a lot in school...and I growl like an Orc in people's faces when they try to do something to me. And I insult people in Elvish, refusing to tell them what it means. Or I make random references to very minor characters in The Sil...and go into long monologues comparing the Sil to other major religions. And I point out how my other friends' "favorite" books are much like LotR in many ways. Then I go into a "rant" about how the author must have copied Tolkien, not being a good enough author to rely on his own thoughts.

What's really sad is that I have done more than one of those things. I even made a sign and stuck it on the front of my locker that said "You shall not pass!" It was...er...taken down and I had to explain to my proncipal what the heck was wrong with my head.
Anyway, I've done the eraser thing, the doodles thing, the elf-on-lunch-table thing, the man-flesh thing, and I dressed like a Nazgul on one of the days we didn't have to wear our uniforms. They sent me home to get some "approiate clothing." I have also called my english teacher an orc (she wouldn't let me read the Lord of the Rings for a book report) and called my principal sauron. He didn't like that. smilies/smile.gif

Today at lunch i was sitting with a group of my friends and most of them got up and left and i said " Hey my people are leaving!" my friend turned around and said what. without even thinking is said " my people are leaving these shores. Who will you look to when we've gone? The Dwarves? They hide in their mountains seeking riches, they care nothing for the troubles of others." they just kinda sat there lookin at me but it was funny!

I also tried the "Elf running across the table tops" That didn't work out all that well though....The 5th table had a bad leg and crumbled under My weight...I still got the scar on My left leg to prove it to...

And I've also shouted "there's a fell voice I the air" several times when a teacher spoke...You shoulda heard the laughing, even those who didn't see/read Lord Of The Rings laughed smilies/biggrin.gif Of course, My jumping up with a ruler in My hand sorta added to the comedy smilies/biggrin.gif

If I ever need to scare any of my friends, I just sneak up behind them and go "gollum, gollum" they always jump straight out of their shoes even though I do it about 6 times a day. Fun.

We have super-hero day in the spring at my school. Most people come wearing batman shirts or whatever else, but my friends and I all dress as wizards and hobbits. Last year my favorite teacher gave us permission to whack all the people that were making fun of our costumes with our staffs and walking sticks. Fun. Very fun.

My friend Sandy and three or four other friends of mine were playing cards at lunch. I was watching, and writing stuff down for something (homework... who cares?), when I heard Sandy humming a few notes, and I ercognised the Fellowship theme in the first three notes, and started whistling along. When there's the really high note at the end I couldn't hit it so I tried to sing it opera-style. I whistled the song in the rest of my classes that day.

Here's a little trick I pulled with some of my friends. A teacher came with some stupid device to measure to size of your long's. We where seated around a table all on chair's and he sat next to it. My mischivous friend was firsth and here's the dialog:

Friend: It's a gift, a gift to the foes of Mordor. Why not use this device?
Other friend: We can not wield it, non of us can.
Friend:And what does a mhere ranger knows of this matter?
Me:He is no mere ranger, he is Martin, son of his father. And the rightfull king of his room. You don't ohw him your alleigeance.

Friend wanted to continue, but then the teacher kicked us out.

I must say we got really far.

Greetings,

Anuion

P.S. This is also a very good trick when somebody has show and tell.

Hahahahahaha picture that.

Kid: This is my cat.
You: It is a gift, a gift to the foes of Mordor. Why not use this cat?
etc.
hahahahahahahaha that would be funny.

Once upon a time, after doing something not approved of with a pair of friends (I think we left school grounds for lunch or something stupid like that) our school disciplinarian made a beeline towards us at our lockers, and, before thinking I cried aloud; "'Ware! Ware! Mumak! May the Valar turn him aside!" It got me an extra 20 minutes of detention (and the teacher a new nickname), but it was worth it! The look on our teacher's face was simply priceless. And I had to explain to him who the Valar are, and what a Mumak is. This was my English Literature teacher too... *sigh* Uneducated git.

Other than that, my LotR obcession is pretty low-key. Only my brother knows the full extend of my madness.

EDIT
Well I drew the tolkinen symbol thing under the bench on the tennis court!

I found out recently, quite by accident, that that symbol is identical to the Chinese symbol for "East." Does anyone know if that is intentional?

Well, my friend and I have the habit of acting out random scenes throughout the day and we DO say "Shire? Baggins?" to our Art teacher at times...he has to yell at us for not shutting up and getting down to our work. Well, as I am taking art as a Major, I kind of have to focus on it, but that's beside the point...

Dear Vanima,

If you have art as major subject you can draw Tolkien all the time. Or just bend the assigntment towords Tolkien.

Example: I now have to draw a street in line perspective. Guess what I drew. Excactly: The street in Bree with the prancing Pony in it. I must say it turned out pretty nice.

After my group of Geek-friends and I saw TTT, while we were waiting for our ride, we walked around outside the theater reeeeeally slow like ents.

Anyways, we were very tempted to get to school early the next day and wait in the most trafficked hallway before everyone came madly running to their lockers. Then we would start Ent-walking and when people would start yelling at us & throwing stuff, yell, "Don't be hasty little hobbits!"

But considering that absolutely no one would get it and we would be pelted with school-supplies and trampled to death, we didn't.

Alas

start an enthuggers club. (like a treehuggers club, except for ents. okay, that was really weird.)
by the way, good job on all that stuff. I almost fell out of my chair. And I actually could get away with that "only talk in Elvish" thing. My school has this "foreign language day" every year. you make a t-shirt with what language you're taking and your "name" in that class and you have to speak that language for the entire day or else you get your shirt taken away (you wear something under it, duh!) and whoever gets the most shirts at the end of the day wins. I am seriously going to make a Quenya t-shirt (or just write it on my spanish one) and talk in Elvish all day. Or "Spelvish", which is mixed spanish and elvish, which I do all the time (watch, one day I'm going to write rocco instead of caballo on a spanish quiz...) El Elda esta mata pan!!!
my teacher also made me do vocab sentences and stuff...stupid mnemonics. I did "the Valar were ardent (that was the vocab word) about Arda." We graded them in class. Talk about a weird look from the guy who got to grade my stuff. I had to spend a long time explaining it to him. I am beginning to be known as the LotR freak. I write random stuff on the board in my classes. One time we had to memorize this Bible verse for a class (I go to a Christian school) and somebody asked if they could write it in greek (just to be random, I don't think anybody in my entire school speaks greek) and somebody was like, "Hey, I bet Em could do that!" (I'm a normal nerd along w/ Lotr nerd) and this other girl said "No, she'd probably do it in elvish." Even though I could only maybe have translated God, the, and, one, & spirit. he he he...I can't wait until I'm actually fluent. Then I can write my term paper in Elvish... okay, I'll stop my random stories now.

About freaking out my friends with Lotr.

I once got insane, because this guy said he had bought a new ring. He was showing it to me and my friends. His mistake:
I jumed the guy and held on to his back screaming:

"Thieves, thieves Baggins. Give it back. Give back the precious."

He never showed any form of jewelry to me again.

me and my friend, the ONLY LotR freaks in our class, frequently call people names in Elvish
we use random quotes, whenever one of us does something good, we say "That's good ____(whichever one it is, Becka or Ellen)" like Merry does when he and Pip are swordfighting with Boromir in FotR
In Band the other day we watched the Fellowship and the guy sitting beside me said, "Becka, dont speak the script i want to hear the movie!" i find it hard not to, ive seen it so many times

I can agree with that one. It's gotten to the point where no one will watch it with me anymore because I talk throughout the whole thing speaking the lines. In Two Towers on yesterday afternoon (we had a half day so I spent it well smilies/biggrin.gif ) I sat in the back and said as much as I knew so far of the movie and when we were leaving the man sitting in front of me asked me something like "How in the world did you memorize it that fast?" Can people honestly be so ignorant? smilies/biggrin.gif

I am definitely alone at my school too. However, I go to an Arts Academy, and no one would give me a second thought if I wore elf ears, and cloaks to school (although I'd officially lose all my athletic jock type friends, the only consolence I have *sighs*). We don't have a dress code either so I wear my Evenstar, or the One Ring every day. Also I wear Nenya everyday.

At home however, one of my neighbors loves LOTR almost as much as I do, so I'm not *completely* alone. Plus I have all the Barrowdowners ... Thank Eru!!

In ELA (English Language Arts) my teacher told me that the day before when I was absent she had assigned a project to the students to write a biography on a classical author and we had to do an oral report dressed up as the author (although she may let us dress up as a character). Of course I chose Tolkien smilies/biggrin.gif . She says to me, "Oh, I think ****'s already doing him. Let's see if we can have him change his mind though." So she calls **** over and says, "Would you mind changing the author you do your report on, because Tolkien is like the love of Elizabeth's life and she'd die if she couldn't do her report on him." The kid (whose name I've starred out for privacy reasons smilies/rolleyes.gif ) agreed, but I was embarassed because I was wondering how she knew I liked LOTR so much. I did the horn of Gondor thing to my math teacher once. She thought it was funny, after I explained that I wasn't talking about condors. smilies/rolleyes.gif

I have this master plan to SERIOSULY freak out people who hate hobbits.Print up all thses pics of hobbits and tape them all over the place. if the plan goes correctly, this is what will happen:
When the victim wakes up in the morning she will find a picture taped to her alarm clock. and then one to her closet. now mildly annoyed she will get dressed etc. and in the bathroom she will find another pic on the mirror. She continues her morning routine, finding pics around the kitchen etC, setting out to school rather annoyed. when at school she will discover pictures first all over her lockers, in her backpack and purse. Slightly creeped out now, she will find pictures in her textbooks, on her desks, on her little pocket-mirror thing, on her back and virtually everywhere. And then, finally, she discovers a sign in her locker saying 'hobbits know where you live'. She will then freak out and break down crying, loosing whatever sanity she had left...ok the last part's not guarunteed but at least she'll get SERIOUSLY freaked out

Ahh, yes...I'll never grow tired of that one. Anyways, You could launch major freak-out attacks (see quote above) to various jocks and REALLLLLLY scare them. Or, you could always run around the school with a bunch of flyswatters and be the fellowship of the flyswatters (taken already, for flyswatter componant see LOTR meets Zelda con). Or you could always yell 'crabbaian from dunland!!!!!!!!' whenever u see a crow, which is also already done by moi. Or you could get angry at the librarians when they won't order more than 3 copies of any books by JRRT.

Today my friend, who I shall call Gandalf, was going over some latin with me. every time she asked me to suggest a scentance in the Passive/ Active/ both I would say:
Boromir is shot by Lurtz
Aragorn beheads Lurtz
Lurtz, having shot Boromir, was beheaded by Aragorn.
in the end Gandalf was giving some sentances to translate to me and another friend, who I shall call Perian. Perian's were all things like 'the girl was praised.' but Gandalf had now discovered what makes me pay attntion.
my sentances translated as:
Aragorn killed orcs
Frodo fled from Boromir
the list goes on. i am wondering whether to make real teachers do this! smilies/evil.gif
