If you could do one thing with the entire Fellowship what would it be?

Personally, I'd take them all out for a night of bowling. I bet Gandalf would kick serious butt.

Lol, i love it, Skippy!

Snowtubing, i would take them all snowtubing! You know, get one of those huge snowtubes that hopefully everyone can fit in....yeah, that would be fun smilies/biggrin.gif

I'd put them in a big pot, cook them, and eat em all! Nah, I'm j/k...I don't like Hobbit meat smilies/wink.gif Anyways I would make them all go to a disco, that would be entertaining smilies/biggrin.gif

id go on a weekend trip to paris with the fellowship. dropping hobbits from the top of the eiffel tower... ah, those were the days...

Ya'll are so macabre.

I would get them to teach me some proper Elvish, all the while learning proper broad-sword fighting, fencing, and other battle skills!

It has to be the entire Fellowship, huh? I can't just single out Merry and Pippin? 'Cause if I could I'd just hang out with them...wouldn't matter what we did, anything would be fun, be it bowling, running through corn fields with mad dogs at our heels (I've been chased by mad dogs, and it is very exhilarating) or singing silly hobbit songs, or just anything. Ahh...

But the Fellowship...what could we all do together. Hmmm... Well, I'm with Knight on that. Language and battle skills...yay! smilies/smile.gif

Like Knight and Diamond before me, I'd work on language skills, and maybe see if I could persuade Gimli to teach me some Dwarvish.

Also I'd take some photographs smilies/smile.gif. (Though I wonder if the ones of Gandalf would develop - maybe Istari don't come out on film?)

Go to Vegas!!! No, wait... they wouldn't let the hobbits on the casino floors because they would think them to be children.

Honestly now...are we talking about the characters or the actors?
If it be the characters... I would love to go horseback riding with them and then have a nice little picnic and talk of old stories and such.
If it be the actors... please oh please, let's go to a theme park or rafting... or to a concert!

You mean after the first twenty minutes of "Oh my gosh, you're Aragorn! And you--you're Frodo! And Sam! Oh, Sam, you're my favorite!", right? Cause that could take a while. After that...wow...pretty much anything...bowling sounds fun...I'm definately thinking road trip though. Hmmmm....that might now work. I daresay they're all had enough roadtrips, huh?

Hmm...I'd make them see the Fellowship movie. That would be quite a scene! Or I'd probably take them all snowboarding or something fun! Ooo I'd take them to Six Flags (I live like 5 minutes away)!

Nianna Telmnar
12-08-2002, 01:09 PM
I think it'd be fun to just hang out and play chess. (well, maybe checkers for the hobbits). I can just see Aragorn refusing to surrender his king to gandalf(No! but, I'm supposed to be king!). And Legolas patiently trying to teach Gimli to play...Gimli of course consumed by his trademark indignation.(Auch!)

Knight of Gondor
12-08-2002, 04:16 PM
Wait a minute...at what stage do you imagine meeting them? If it's after the end of the third age, then Boromir is already dead, and they're dispersed somewhat. If it's just as they're preparing to set out, then they'd be too busy with that blasted Ring to be of any fun!

I don't think it would be any fun to meet the actors...they're so much unlike the actual characters...for instance, Gandalf isn't gay! Legolas doesn't have a mohawk underneath his Elvish hair! And wouldn't it be weird to be at eye-level with Frodo anyway? (By the way, I saw this picture, and the actor who plays Gimli is taller than Peter Jackson! Also, Gimli plays Treebeard!!!)

We'd 'borrow' some horses, gallop around (always wanted to gallop) learn how to fight (archery sword fighting etc.) wouldn't bother with languages, it would remind me of school too much. Anyway, are we in ME? If so we'd visit everywhere and kill some orcs with my new-found battle skills and... erm... oh yeah, got to show them this site haven't I?

Diamond18
12-08-2002, 05:53 PM
I don't think it matters what time or place, it's just the premise of those specific characters all hanging out together with you as the boss.

I myself was thinking of the characters when I made my post...but I wouldn't mind looking at Frodo/Elijah on eye level smilies/wink.gif. And anyone who saw that WB special or the special features on the Ex. Ed. DVD would know that hanging out with Billy and Dom must be a hoot.

I'd make them see the Fellowship movie. That would be quite a scene!
Aaah! Don't do that! I'm sure the entire fellowship would have panic attacks if they saw what was to happen. And Boromir would probably just keel over right there and then. smilies/eek.gif

I would probably take the fellowship to Disney World. There, the hobbits can pig out on food, Gimli can have long conversations with Snow White and the seven dwarves, and the others can endlessly ride on Space Mountain!

Though, I would also like the fellowship to teach me battle skills. Then I could deal with all those immature guys who constantly pester me at school. smilies/mad.gif

I like your Chess Idea, you corky little Valier( A Lady of Valar). Thou, I can just see Pippin pulling numerous silly little moves and winning aganst Gandalf out of pure luck.

STOP trying to put logic into this idea, If you had the FELLOWSHIP- Gandalf, Aragorn, Boromir, Legolas, Gimili, Merry, Pippin, Sam, and Frodo- not the actors. No offense to all you worshipers out their but you could have a lot more fun with the fellowship.

Vegas is good, I mean even the real world has midgets and Frodo and all them are suppose to be well over 21 in the book. Going sailling would be cool, Scuba diving and the like (imagine Gandalf in a wet suit . . . ).

Anyways I'll post another one in a few days, I wanna see what more people say.

I'd think that I would let Legolas grant me immortalety(Hey buss of I know it ca'n't be but I live in Anuion land so let me be) then I would send them back to Middle-Earth and sneak with them in their bags.

Hahahahaha Sam wandered why his bag was so heavy.

NEW TOPIC

If you could have any character in any of the three books give you a year long tour of Middle-earth, which would it be and WHY? (Pre-ring fiasco, elves still reside in ME)

BEWARE: all those Bombadil fans, you have to spend a year with this person. My theory is his singing would drive you mental before long.

CAUTION: all you Legolas fans, you need a reason why you would want him as a guide, and a darn-tootant good one.

Personally: I'd want to travel with Aragorn, he basically has been to most everywhere in Middle-earth, speaks a whole buch of languages, and unlike Gandalf, I would have to worry about him with-holding information.

Arwen- for simple reasons
1)She´s a girl. She-unlike Aragorn- would understand the need of having a rest from time to time. Or, as a matter of fact, washing my hair.
2)She´d show me Rivendell. And Lorien. Have always wanted to see that. Also, would probaby have very good chance of meeting Galadriel, as being her granddaughter´s friend.
3)She could teach me elvish
4)I suppose she would be a really nice to hang out with. Maybe I could even show her some nice stuff from our world- Loreal, the Peanuts etc.
5)Maybe Aragorn would come with us from time to time, and that would certainly be nice

Diamond18

Hmmm, well I usually say Pippin for these kind of things, and I would if it was post-Ring...but otherwise that prospect is just too darn scary. He'd probably get us both killed.

I'd say Gandalf except that he's so crabby. So I'll say Aragorn...he'd keep us from getting killed.

VanimaEdhel
12-12-2002, 06:10 PM
I'd probably end up hating anyone I was with...

Gandalf: gets crabby and so do I, so he'd end up snuffing my life candle out like a spark.
Any of the Hobbits: I'd get annoyed with all their eating because I honestly despise eating and only do it because I need to.
Legolas: I'd probably spend too much time flirting to see anything, then it would be all over and I'd be left with nothing.
Gimli: Ummm...I'm vain...I need someone with some prettiness.
Aragorn: He gets a bit melancholy for me. I have the habit of getting cynical myself and, if encouraged, it gets me thoroughly depressed. I wouldn't work with him.

Actually, of the Fellowship, Boromir would probably be the best for me...I mean, there's the whole greedy thing, but that's more based on the strength of the ring.

Melian might be a good guide. She and I would get along famously, I believe...

I would ask to travel with Arien and the sun, if we were not limited to going on Middle Earth. Then I would get to see Middle Earth over 300 times for the year...

i'm going to avoid the obvious choice of legolas (fearing retribution of one "skippy" nazgul) and go with Gildor Inglorion and his band of wandering elves. (the first elves frodo, and the other hobbits meet on their way out of the shire in the first book) they seem pretty cool for a bunch of exiled high elves.

Orual
12-15-2002, 06:32 PM
I'd hang with Bilbo (and thus Frodo and Sam, as well), spending a year listening to old stories and songs and wandering the Shire and a little out of it, trying to fib my way out of telling Sam exactly *why* I love him so much (since you did say this is pre-Ring, Skippy). /sigh/ Okay, I've said what I want, now can I have it? Please?

Great choices all around. I was tempted with the Aragorn, and even more so with the Bilbo, but I think I'll have to go with Treebeard. I know it sounds like an odd choice but I have reasons, some of which I consider good, and others, very silly.

I'll start with the very silly one:

Nobody else has chosen him, and dang it, I wanna be original. See? Told you it was silly.

Now, on to the good reasons:

1. Treebeard knows A LOT of stuff about Middle Earth and has a very unique perspective on it. There'd be so much to learn.

2. I love forests and being outside and I'll bet that hanging out with tree shepherds would increase that and I'd learn more about nature.

3. I'd either learn patience or go mad. Since I'm already slightly cracked and I like to try new things, the only option left seems to be that of learning patience.

4. Ent-draughts make hobbits grow taller. smilies/smile.gif I'll be able to reach the plates in the cabinet at my house!

Of course, I'd have to venture off to see elves at some point, even if it's just for a little while. You can't go to Middle Earth and not see the elves.

I quote "Green Eggs and Lembas" submitted, I believe, by Eruwen some weeks back:

"Master, we'll go see the elves
We'll go and see the elves ourselves
We'll hear them sing their elven songs
We'll hear them bong their elven gongs
And strum their elven lala-lutes
And hoot their elven hooty-toots!"

I threw that in there just for Skippy the Nazgul. smilies/smile.gif

Aragorn. I just love him. And we are both kind of melancholic, so we would get along great. Besides, he knows a bit of averything and travels a lot.

My second choice would be Arwen. She stays a lot in rivendell and Lothlorien, and that would be fine for me. And some elf-chat would be ok.

THey both could teach me a lot about elves, so......

I have to say that TReebeard would be my last choice. I would rather have Sauron (Hey!!!!!!! that would be interesting)

Treebeard woul make me insane before he finished sayind hello.

Defently Frodo. I meqan come on how could you not pick him. He has brains and a sense of fun. I would met Merry Pippin Sam and Bilbo. He's a Hobbit like me, birds of feather stick together. And **Blushes deeply** I have a crush on him. Not Elijah, Frodo. It's a sad life smilies/confused.gif

I've had a crush on the character of Legolas since I was nine, six years ago, so do not feel bad about it! I told my mommy I was going to find a portal to Middle Earth and marry Legolas...hmmm...maybe it's in my friend's room with the door that's locked from the other side that they've never been into...I'll have to look into that (I'm still looking for the darn portal, in case you didn't realize smilies/wink.gif ).

No problem. Won't breathe a word of it to Gandalf. I've heard that he's an occasional visitor at Fanghorn Forest, but it's not like one of the most powerful wizards would have a way of knowing that I know stuff he's interested in...right?

Gandalf.

The G-Man. Copious amounts of 'Pipeweed', the most knowledgable person I can think of, total bad*ss in a fight, and just a cool dude. I've already hung out with some people like him, and I could cope with being called a "Fool of a Took!" or whatever. Course, being carried around by Treebeard is mighty tempting...

I would go with them on the quest to destroy the ring and take a digital camera along. Then I'd make a REEEEEEAAAAAAAAALLLLY big scrapbook. Lol! Then maybe I'd take them to this site. They might answer some questions. I know some people are curious about Balrogs and wings. Gandalf might know something about that.

Gandalf would be cool, for awhile, but he would get mad at me sometimes, just like he did with Pippin, not a good thing.
And he has such a busy schedule, I do not think I could keep up.
I think I would have to choose Frodo to take me around Middle Earth, but without the ring, he was always my favorite in the book smilies/cool.gif

And going back to the first question, if I could take the entire Fellowship somewhere, I would go to Las Vegas, it would be great, gambling, dancing, shopping. The hobbits would love the Buffets, but I don't know if they would be tall enough for them.

Theyre the coolest! hmm, i think we'd go to the Green Dragon, then we could go beat up Boromir and Aragorn again....like in the special edition! LOL! then i think we would go horseback riding, or ponyback riding for the hobbits. Meh, id take a pony too so id be at their height. Hey, im short enough... smilies/biggrin.gif

Hey,

I could also take them pooling. But think that Gimli would go right trough the sheet and then I would have to pay for a new pooltable. Bad idea.

*stripe's the pooling idea of the list*

Maybe I should take them with me to Amsterdam and let them witness the nightlife in this world.

Then me and Legsie would sit next to eichother and a spak will flow. I would shuffle closer and.......WAIT. That's something that doesn't belong on this site. smilies/biggrin.gif

For the year-long tour of middle-earth one, i would have to say Pippin. Not because of the accent and looks....well partly yeah. Also because he hangs out with Merry a lot and they are both REALLY fun. Also, I am pretty short so I could hide my ears and feet and pretend I was a hobbit so I could go places I normally wouldn't. Also, I would get them to take me to spots of interest, using ponies of course. Too much walking makes the Maiden a dull girl. Besides, ponies are better and funner.

Okay, can I do that now? Please?
p.s. hey! when you find the portal to middle earth tell me!

The entire fellowship..wow that would be a toss up between road trip (assuming I could bring them into the modern world) and roller/ice skating. Gandalf on skates! Now that would be a hoot. Wonder if Legolas could skate without leaving marks in the ice..heh something to think about.

Now here's the insane side of me talking. I'd get a 81 Corvette and teach Merry and Pippin to drive. Fun in a horrifying sort of way, don't you think?

After consideration, I think that the best person from "Lord of the Rings" to take me around would probably be book-Haldir. I think I would have the most fun with him and his brothers.

From "The Silmarillion" I think that traveling around with Melian at some time would be really nice. Either that or joining the army of women and children led by Emeldir, Beren's mother. That might be fun.

Actually, pre-treachery, Curunir would be a good Istar to travel around with. Or Radagast, actually.

I would also be intersested in the other two blue Istari that disappeared. It would be interesting to know where they went, what it was like there, and what adventures befell them whilst they were there.

So, basically, I would need a few trips!

For all of us having fun I take them to alot of amusement parks and go bowling
