Yes, here it is, thanks to BBspot.com (home of Jar-Jaromir): Leonard Nimoy - "Ballad of Bilbo Baggins" - The Music Video (http://homepage.mac.com/evanbaumgardner/iMovieTheater6.html)
I'm 99% certain that this is an actual, vintage "music video". After all, nobody in their wildest imagination these days could come up with the idea that 1960's go-go dancers would wear sweatshirts and rubber "hobbit ears".
This is priceless, and well worth the 15 minute wait for Quicktime to upload it. (Unless you're one of the lucky few with broadband)
So enjoy, and realize that fans of Tolkien were every bit as strange 35 years ago as they are now. smilies/biggrin.gif
"Bilbo...BILBO!...Bilbo...BILBO!
The greatest little Hobbit of them all!"
(Dang! Now that song is gonna be stuck in my head all day...)

That is such a cool song. And what's even cooler is that one of my friends actually knew what I was talking about when I mentioned it.
Off topic-That guy plays Spock doesn't he?
looks like it should be on "laugh in"

Okay I have to say that those chicks who were dancing must have been on drugs. That was freaky! I liked the song though. smilies/tongue.gif

It's easy to tell that it's an original video, Birdland: they appear to be filming it between takes on a set from Star Trek.

I wonder what the budget for that video shoot was? It was pretty funny when Leonard Nimoy sang about Bilbo finding the Ring and he picked up a roll of masking tape. smilies/rolleyes.gif smilies/smile.gif

O_o I'm not sure if I'm traumatised or finding that hilarious...
Hilarious is more fun though. When was that released?

Not much more can be said about that song than that it is ridiculous and hilarious (in a queasy sort of way). I saw that video many years ago on the tele, but I had forgotten it until now. Sadly, it greatly detracts from Leonard Nimoy's mystique. smilies/rolleyes.gif

The video was hilarious! Does anyone have the lyrics so I could tease my friends with that? smilies/wink.gif

I've heard the song before! Personally, I loved it, I still sing it to myself sometimes. I don't have time at the moment but I'll look at the video next time.

Wow, that was, umm...extremely weird. What's scary is that my dad walked in while I was watching it-and saying "I can't believe he actually SANG that!"-and told me that he remembered seeing it soon after it was released. smilies/eek.gif

I remember this. Nemoy made a number of very strange recordings and videos. Somewhere around my house I have an album he recorded. It was very strange indeed.
