I know. That's why I was so sad at Crystal's distrust of Ferethor, becuase he seems so like myself.

Anyway, Crystal is completely distrusting Ferethor at the moment and hanging on the Atharen's arm, right? But this situation owuld get quickly boring if they are enemies to the end of the road...

A lot of this 'who is better' is probably subjective. There are certain areas in both character's abilities that would be better than the others. In a fight, it comes down to the question of martial practice versus brute force, and my betting is on brute force...

Yes, that's fine.

So, Idruil, who has by now figured out what is going on, barges in on the current discussion for one reason or another.

Addition to that post:

Question; Is there some indication (perhaps something Maen said or a label on the scroll) which could give Idruil the hint that they broke into the archives. Otherwise, he has very little reason to do anything more than suspect them if illicit behavior.

Ok, my post is up. (FINALLY, character interaction!).

It's shorter than the original, and I took away a lot of Idruil's intended hostility. Instead of being belligerent, he's just dropping in with unknown intent, which makes more sense in relation to his character.

Now I can start writing long and often pointless essays on Idruil's character. All those weeks in English Class writing about personality will finally come in handy.

[/B] It could cause some interesting character interaction, maybe....but yes, maybe easing up a little on the hostility wouldn't be too bad? As Eorl has pointed out here, his character isn't truly evil, even if he can be a little infuriating ;)

However, Eorl, the other point is not correct: Crystal is in now way 'hanging on Atharen;s arm', and neither are they holding hands, as you said in your post and as I have already pointed out and asked to be removed. Please, Eorl, there is no flirting or couple-ness between Atharen and Crystal, certainly not yet as I said. Please could I ask you to remove that brief reference? :)

Ah, Atharen, my dear friend; you've already addressed the problem that I was just about to raise.

Dear Ferethor (Eorl of Rohan), We are not a couple as Atharen has said. Please take that out. The only "hand holding" that was concieved in writing was when I tripped and grabbed his hand for balance. She let go of his hand. It was a natural instinct of any human.

As for the walking/riding saga of talk that I have read through at great length I have decided that Crystal will be riding a stallion-chestnut in coloration-that she can sense has been hurt in some way. I have thought about this at great length and the prospect of her choosing something that had been hurt as she has been is rather an irony that I have decided would fair well against the coming up action that we are all sure to be privy to.

Fereothor, my dear friend, I must turn my attention back to you. Please do not feel that my character's unwillingness to trust has anything against you. Crystal uses this as a cover, it is her nature. Her extensive physical and mental abuse was overwhelming. She has also learned the ways of the travellers which teach that you do not become attached to anyone, anywhere, at any such time. Again it is nothing against you. You are a fine writer and I personally enjoy your character.

As for the fighting and matching of Crystal there is no doubt in my mind that in any such fight you would win. Because brute strength is much stronger then any brain power in the entirity of the universe. It shall be fun fighting against you at that point in time if the moment rises.

As all the words that I had wanted to speak, or in this case type to you all, I shall be leaving.

Until we meet once again,

Crystal Heart-swordmaiden of Rohan

Your analysis of your own character is certainly your prerogative. It always is helpful to have a good understanding of your own character - it helps to deepen that character for the reader; make him more well-rounded and interesting. It also gives the other writers in the game an understanding of where your character is coming from.

But, I am going to ask you to refrain from an analysis of another writer's character.

Please check your PM's concerning this.

I've deleted the offending posts (I had no idea you would be so serious about it, I just wrote that as a joke in English class because I just learned anaylsis of characters and decided to try it out). Atharen and Crystal, I am really, truly, very sorry and sad. I don't know why I am going around offending everyone on this board, I never meant it to be that way. And I meant that expression as figuratively, Atharen.

I would refrain from making ANY comments not directly concerning the roleplay in the future, I think I'm getting worse and worse.

As for the fighting and matching of Crystal there is no doubt in my mind that in any such fight you would win. Because brute strength is much stronger then any brain power in the entirity of the universe.

I was thinking about that very point. Ferethor does not possess what would be called 'brute strength' as you pointed out. He relies more on the 'swiftness' and 'keen insight into the weakness of the advarsary'. In fact, the entry I was just going to post deals with a completely different appearance of Ferethor. More elven-like, because I figured that Ferethor WAS a captain of war.

Again, being very sorry,

Dasol of Korea

Aelimur's post is up now. I did alot on his horse, I know, but he loves it dearly. Also, I know this sounds conceited, but I really thought I wrote it well, and I was wondering what you thought of it?

Oh, and no, I did not spell Tellimurr's name incorrectly:rolleyes:. I simply added the extra 'l' and 'r' in his dad's name for distinction and so you hopefully don't pronounce it the same as Aelimur, but with a 't'.

Note: Just if your wondering, you pronounce Aelimur 'ale-ih-mure' and Tellimurr 'tell-ih-mer'.. haha, sorry, I had to add this..:smokin:

OK, I got this from a site from Rohan RP resources, I think it will solv a lot of porblems about sorting out a character. You dont have to do it, but I thought it would benefit the game, take as long as you want.

MAÉN

Who are your character's friends? None, until Crystal, but they are not very close as yet.

How close is your character to his/her friends? Not close at all, she has never had any close Female or male friends.

Is she/he protecting someone? Her Aunt Lysia, by going after Guriel she is protecting her name.

Who was her/his first love? She has never been in love, but she was engaged to a soldier of Gondor (at her father’s request) an attempt to get her out of her house.

Who does she/he work with? No one, she is not allowed.

Who is his/her worst enemy? Other than Guriel, the women of Minas Tirith.

Who is his/her confidante? Lysia

Is he/she a disappointment to anyone? Her whole family, especially her mother. Her father just doesn’t care anymore.

• What about family? Does she/he get along with them? Does she/he ignore them? Is it a small family, or an extended family with lots of cousins and aunts and uncles? Is it a close family, or do they only see each other at the holidays? Are any of them not on speaking terms with each other?

Maén never gets along with her family, never has, her brothers only politely acknowledge that she is their sister, their wives do not speak with her. It is a rather small family, not as big as others and none of them are really very close. It is a cold house hold. Very few are on speaking terms with Lysia.

• Are there any "family secrets?" NO, Guriel is out in the open.
• Who is his/her favorite relative? Lysia
• Who is his/her least favorite relative? Her father and mother
• Does he/she have any children? No

• Where does he/she feel safe? Why? In the servants quarters. Why? Because they are the only humane people to her.
• What sort of place spooks him/her? Her father’s wing, because it is where she first found out about Guriel and where she burned half her arm when she fell into her father’s fireplace.
• Is there any place that he/she refuses to go? Not willingly, she will go anywhere.
• What did your character want to be when he/she grew up? Equal to men.

• What nightmares does he/she have? She has nightmares that people come to strangle her in the night, (not yet spoken of in story) but she is also haunted by Guriel.

• What makes him/her cry? She doesn’t cry, hasn’t cried for years.
• What makes him/her laugh? The little things.
• What does he/she wish they could do that they can't? She wishes that she could fight, that she had more friends, that she was more human.
• What is their secret dream? What one goal, ambition, or desire do they keep hidden from everyone? Is it small or large? Personal or global? Realistic or unrealistic? Is she actually trying to accomplish it (and how?), or do they consider it untenable? Her dreams are limited, she has got very little in her life to give her hope other than Lysia who inspires her to achieve her potential, and the drive to succeed in killing Guriel. In a way she feels that in doing this, her life will be better and go back to normal, the way it was before the War of the Ring. Then I suppose, that her dream is to have a happy family.
• What is their worst fear? What terrifies them? What do they dread? Is it something terribly personal, or a generic phobia? How did they acquire this fear? Are they ashamed of it? Physical Pain, dark places where there is no light and to most of a degree Guriel Il Galoth. Her biggest fear is that she will not get vengeance. She would never seem outwardly scared, or even admit to it.
• If she could be any famous person, Penthesilia, the Amazon queen who died in the battle of Troy at the hands of Achilles. Why? Because it is everything that represents equality of might between the sexes.
• Where does your character live? Minas Tirith
• Do they get sick? Hardly ever, she is too strong to get sick. (or so she thinks)
• What is your character like when they are drunk? Asks herself a lot of rhetorical questions like
• What is she like when they are grieving/mourning? She is very dark, will not speak, will not eat, will not cry, a silent stone. Can she be broken? Yes, I think so.
• What are they like when they are moody or despondent? She is very passionate but will not strike out. She will take to writing in her journal.
• What is he/she like when they are celebrating celebrating? Do they have a quiet celebration at home, or do they gather their friends together for a big bash? Don’t know, she has rarely celebrated anything in her life.

Aelimur, no, Melisil, your last post was wonderful. Keep it up! :)

As for the test, I will try it out...

1. Who are your character's friends?

Ferethor is a solitary type. I think he trusts on Atharen not to fail him, and have a casual comraderie with Aelimur whom he knows. He is very friendly with only one person I know, which happens to be Lieutenant Meren.

2. How close is your character to his/her friends?

Ferethor is rahter distant to everyone, prefers to keep his thoughts to himself. His persuasive powers are amazing at times if he wants to be, but it isn't often.

Is she/he protecting someone?

No. If Ferethor is, it would be himself.

Who was her/his first love?

I think Ferethor despises love.

Who does she/he work with?

Aelimur, of course, and Atharen. Tends to disregard everyone else.

Who is her/his best friend?

Meren, who is not in the roleplay.

Who is his/her worst enemy?

No one, except if it be Il Garoth who was killed in the battle of treachery.

Who is his/her confidante?

No one.

Is he/she a disappointment to anyone?

I believe Ferethor is sometimes a disappointment to his Lord Elessar, for some of his 'faults' which crop up now and then.

What about family? Does she/he get along with them? Does she/he ignore them? Is it a small family, or an extended family with lots of cousins and aunts and uncles? Is it a close family, or do they only see each other at the holidays? Are any of them not on speaking terms with each other?

No family, since his father was killed in battle and his mother from a sickness and his brother from the battle of treachery.

"Are there any "family secrets?"

None that I know of.

"Who is his/her favorite relative?
"Who is his/her least favorite relative?
"Does he/she have any children?

Is not married, has no relatives.

"Where does he/she feel safe? Why?

In darkness. He is anti-social to a bit-too-far extent.

"What sort of place spooks him/her? Why?

Forests. Reminds him of his youth where he frolicked in the woods.

?What did your character want to be when he/she grew up?

A healer after his father

"What makes him/her cry?"

Sad memories

"What makes him/her laugh?"

Bitterness, despair, contempt and fear.

"What is their worst fear? What terrifies them? What do they dread? Is it something terribly personal, or a generic phobia? How did they acquire this fear? Are they ashamed of it?

Loss of honor and denial of revenge.

?Where does your character live?

In Gondor

"What is she like when they are grieving/mourning? Are they private with their grief? Quiet and stony? Crying loudly? In need of friends?"

Sits like stone, his eyes reflecting immesurable sorrow and anger.

"What are they like when they are moody or despondent? Are they self-pitying, irritable, sad?"

Angry. Brutally angey.

"?What is he/she like when they are celebrating celebrating? Do they have a quiet celebration at home, or do they gather their friends together for a big bash?"

Smiles weakly and then find something else to do.

((Ok, I've just posted, wow, this forest path is creeping me out slightly.. ooh! fun, fun!))

Who are your character's friends?

His sister, Marien. His fellow guards, ecspecially those with the same posts as he. Several nobles. He has many.. he's friendly to people enough, I'd say, he has alot of aquaintances.

How close is your character to his/her friends?

many of his friends are just aquaintances, but those that he sees more often (his sister, the guards, some of the nobles) he is good friends with.

Is she/he protecting someone?

Maen, for now. Not really anyone else.

Who was her/his first love?

His first love was a girl he met when he was 15. Their relationship ended when she moved away.

Who does she/he work with?

Ferethor. Maen. The other members of the journey he will work with without complaint though. He works also for King Elessar.

Who is her/his best friend?

A fellow guard, Jeremy Fallow. They trained together, and have been very good friends ever since. Jeremey married Aelimur's sister recently.

Who is his/her worst enemy?

No one.

Who is his/her confidante?

His father, or his sister.

Is he/she a disappointment to anyone?

Not really. His mother slightly, who thought that being a guard was rather dangerous, and didn't care for her only son becoming one.

• What about family? Does she/he get along with them? Does she/he ignore them? Is it a small family, or an extended family with lots of cousins and aunts and uncles? Is it a close family, or do they only see each other at the holidays? Are any of them not on speaking terms with each other?

He has a very close relationship with his whole family. Yes, it's a very small family that he comes from, he has many cousins/aunts/uncles/etc. though. His mother and father rarely speak to each other anymore, though they are still together because of the fact that they do, oddly enough, still love each otehr dearly.

• Are there any "family secrets?"

Well, his immidiate family knows, but no one else: He was once married to a young woman named Abigail Helenoth. She fell ill and died after only 2 and something months of marriage. The memory will never leave Aelimur.

• Who is his/her favorite relative?

His sister. They have a very close relationship.

• Who is his/her least favorite relative?

His Aunt Matty, who picks at Aelimur terribly to get him to tell her anything about his late wife. (she knows he was married, though she knows nothing of Abigail)

• Does he/she have any children?

No.

• Where does he/she feel safe? Why?

Large, endless, open fields. Also, while he sleeps, and he can be alone with his dreams of Abigail.

• What sort of place spooks him/her? Why?

Dark places, hollow places, lifeless places, being alone. Why? Because he hates being alone.

• Is there any place that he/she refuses to go? Why? What happened there?

The south wing of his house, that's where Abigail loved most, and where she died.

• What did your character want to be when he/she grew up?

As a child he wanted to be either a soldier like his dad or a painter/writer, like his mom.

• What nightmares does he/she have?

He dreams of Abigail. They are not totally nightmares, but they are in a way.

• What makes him/her cry?

Death. Pain. Watching something terrible have to happen to a friend.

• What makes him/her laugh?

A good joke, talking with his friends, when something funny happens.

• What does he/she wish they could do that they can't?

Nothing really. He is content in that way.

• What is their secret dream? What one goal, ambition, or desire do they keep hidden from everyone? Is it small or large? Personal or global? Realistic or unrealistic? Is she actually trying to accomplish it (and how?), or do they consider it untenable?

He wants to paint, and to write. He is very good at both, but has continually been denied the chance to.

• What is their worst fear? What terrifies them? What do they dread? Is it something terribly personal, or a generic phobia? How did they acquire this fear? Are they ashamed of it?

Something he could not defeat on his own. Having to relive sweet Abigail's death. Strangly, open wounds. Many little things, sad things. He is not ashamed to let people know, but he doesn't usually outright tell others.

• If she could be any famous person, who would it be and why?

I'm not sure.

• Where does your character live?

Gondor.

• Do they get sick? How often? What do they tend to come down with, and how do they handle it?

He doesn't get sick very often. When he does, it's just a cold/flu, nothing too bad.

• What is your character like when they are drunk? Mellow? Melancholy? Friendly and fun? Laughs too much? Hits on everyone?

Haha! Aelimur is very odd when is is drunk. He laughs almost the whole time, talks alot, unsteady on his feet. Thankfully he isn't drunk very often!

• What is he like when they are grieving/mourning? Are they private with their grief? Quiet and stony? Crying loudly? In need of friends?

He is very quiet and withdrawn. When he talks, it's in a very poetic manner. Will not eat usually for a couple days.

• What are they like when they are moody or despondent? Are they self-pitying, irritable, sad?

Slightly irritable, angry, sad. Laughs at any joke, no matter how good, mockingly.

• What is he/she like when they are celebrating? Do they have a quiet celebration at home, or do they gather their friends together for a big bash?

Gathers his closest friends if it's a personal celebration. Big huge bash (that he seems not present at) if otherwise!

Ok, I posted. Idruil's conversating with Maen. Now to try my typing hand at this thing...

-Who are your character's friends?
Well, he has some buddies from the war who he's known, but many if them are either dead or abroad. Most of his friends are seafarers in Pelargir.

-How close is your character to his/her friends?
Not very. They are comrades rather than close personal friends. They talk and drink and sing, but they are not a close-knit bunch.

-Is she/he protecting someone?
Nope, no one at all. Even though Idruil tries to be nice, he is a pretty selfish person.

-Who was her/his first love?
Well, he fell for one of Lady Undomiel's ladies-in-waiting once, but quickly got over that, realizing it was a stupid boyish fancy. Idruil doesn't let his heart get bounced around a lot.

-Who does she/he work with?
He's been on many missions as a mercenary and has taken multiple jobs from certain people who constantly hire him. He completed three jobs with the help of a young man named Alwin, but doesn't work with him on a constant basis.

-Who is her/his best friend?
An old warrior named Oscric who always told him stories. Osric was slain at the Battle of Pelennor Fields, alongside Idruil's father.

-Who is his/her worst enemy?
Doesn't have one. There's no one he hates above all others.

-Who is his/her confidante?
No one. Idruil doesn't really confide in anyone but himself.

-Is he/she a disappointment to anyone?
Well, his father was dissapointed in him for not joining the immediate front forces of Minas Tirith, but he's no longer around to be dissapointed.

• What about family? Does she/he get along with them? Does she/he ignore them? Is it a small family, or an extended family with lots of cousins and aunts and uncles? Is it a close family, or do they only see each other at the holidays? Are any of them not on speaking terms with each other?
They're all dead, but he got along with them generally. His father was a pain sometimes, but he loved his mother, aunt, and uncle, all of which are now deceased.

• Are there any "family secrets?"
No. All his families secrets were out in the open. Only Idruil himself keeps secrets.

• Who is his/her favorite relative?
His mother (a boy's best friend is his mother).

• Who is his/her least favorite relative?
Actually, his father, though he still loved him.

• Does he/she have any children?
No, not even married.

• Where does he/she feel safe? Why?
Anywhere. He goes so many places he can easily adjust. He does feel safest on the streets of Minas Tirith, though. He's been there the most and it feels the most comfortable.

• What sort of place spooks him/her? Why?
Really, nothing. No place. He's been to many of the spooky places within a 1000 mile radius of Minas Tirith.

• Is there any place that he/she refuses to go? Why? What happened there?
Once again, no. He'll go anywhere for money and adventure.

• What did your character want to be when he/she grew up?
[/i]He wanted to be a ferocious and glorious warrior, praised throughout Middle-Earth. Sadly, that didn't quite work out. It was naive enough, so Idruil just took Choice #2.[/i]

• What nightmares does he/she have?
Generic nightmares about death and how pointless his life is. He's plagued by the fact that he hasn't really accomplished anything worthwhile.

• What makes him/her cry?
Hmm...he hasn't really cried in countless years...I guess it would have to be the thought of dying a pointless death and leading a meaningless life behind him.

• What makes him/her laugh?
Irony, often cruel, sardonic irony. He has, otherwise, a lousy sense of humor, though he is pretty likable.

• What does he/she wish they could do that they can't?
Slay a mighty dragon, go down fighting vast armies of orcs, hurtle into a bottomless pit swinging from the whip of a Balrog.

• What is their secret dream? What one goal, ambition, or desire do they keep hidden from everyone? Is it small or large? Personal or global? Realistic or unrealistic? Is she actually trying to accomplish it (and how?), or do they consider it untenable?
His dream isn't really a secret. He wants to die an adventurer, still brimming with all the glory he used to possess.

• What is their worst fear? What terrifies them? What do they dread? Is it something terribly personal, or a generic phobia? How did they acquire this fear? Are they ashamed of it?
As said before, he has fears of living a long and pointless life without meaning. The fear was brought on by his father's encouragement to do something worthwhile with his talents.

• If he could be any famous person, who would it be and why?
He wouldn't be able to chose. Idruil, having extensive knowledge of most famous people, would probably want to be some hero with a lot of glorious adventures to go on.

• Where does your character live?
He's lived in Pelargir, Linhir, Minas Tirith, Osgiliath, and is currently living in the good ol' White City of Gondor.

• Do they get sick? How often? What do they tend to come down with, and how do they handle it?
Nope, barely ever gets sick. He's built up lots of healthy immunities spending so much time in the wild. He's had his share of diseases, but not many that keep him bed-ridden.

• What is your character like when they are drunk? Mellow? Melancholy? Friendly and fun? Laughs too much? Hits on everyone?
He's pretty boisterous when drunk, though he can certainly hold his ale. He doesn't hit on anyone, but he is a bit flirtatious when provoked.

• What is she like when they are grieving/mourning? Are they private with their grief? Quiet and stony? Crying loudly? In need of friends?
Idruil is private with his grief, though he rarely grieves for anyone. He is often secretive and quiet about sadness.

• What are they like when they are moody or despondent? Are they self-pitying, irritable, sad?
When Idruil is moody he just gets irritable and reclusive, not wanting to be talked to and lashing out at anyone who tries to help him.

• What is he/she like when they are celebrating celebrating? Do they have a quiet celebration at home, or do they gather their friends together for a big bash?
Quiet reception at home...unless he's drunk.

Oooh...carpal tunnel...ouch...

Hm...

I think its about time for the bandits on the road, don't you think? That was why I put in this gloomy scene - partly becuase it was my mood, but mostly to lay the groundwork for bandits.

The owls don't hoot, the squirrels don't move through leaves... That's becuase there are some menace in the forest, which happens to be bandits.

But they can¡¯t ride through all the night and to the noon next day. They must be weary all with the morning¡¯s toil and the incident in the archives. They should camp for a moment in the Niphrendil-blooming barren waste, what do you think? Then they can go on next day.

yes I agree there, stopping for the night would be good for the characters. They will be tired at least a bit I sure after riding for half the day.

Well, that was Aelimur actually in answer to Del¡¯s question about Ferethor. It was specified in the post, I think. ¡®Levelly without any change of expression¡¯¡¦ That means Aelimur noted the vague suspicions of Del and sought to dissuade it by the casual reply.

Rohan, it is where her father is.

Her past, her father, her memories.

Whoa, sorry I haven't posted in so long but I've had a few torubles with the internet at college...

Who are your character's friends?
He has few friends, although he likes the consider Atharen one...

How close is your character to his/her friends?
Not very, as having people close to you gives you a weakness...

Is she/he protecting someone?
No...except of course, Maen...

Who was her/his first love?
Never had one...

Who does she/he work with?
Gondor, and anyone loyal to her...

Who is her/his best friend?
And only friend, Atharen...

Who is his/her worst enemy?
Doesn't have a single worst enemy, but hates collectively anyone who would seek to destroy ther peace...

Who is his/her confidante?
He doesn't have one...mostly he prefers to keep to himself...

Is he/she a disappointment to anyone?
He was a constant dissapointment to his father, who always pushed him to do more, even when he was a ranger...

• What about family? Does she/he get along with them? Does she/he ignore them? Is it a small family, or an extended family with lots of cousins and aunts and uncles? Is it a close family, or do they only see each other at the holidays? Are any of them not on speaking terms with each other?
He doesn't see his family any more. His father threw him out of the home when he was released from ranger service. It is a reasonably small family, and his father was never happy with that. The family except Roryn is close, but Roryn has ceased to be a part of their lives, and vice versa.

• Are there any "family secrets?"
His father never went to war, and took all his guilt out on Roryn...

• Who is his/her favorite relative?
His younger brother, Bragollon

• Who is his/her least favorite relative?
His father

• Does he/she have any children?
No...

• Where does he/she feel safe? Why?
He feels safe only inside Minas tirith, as he knows well the perils outside the walls...

• What sort of place spooks him/her? Why?
Nowhere spooks him because of his rigourous ranger trianing...

• Is there any place that he/she refuses to go? Why? What happened there?
He will never again visit the house of his parents, he does not wish to see his cowards of a father.

• What did your character want to be when he/she grew up?
A soldier

• What nightmares does he/she have?
His mother and sister dying...

• What makes him/her cry?
Very little, as he has buried a lot of his feelings deep down inside him.

• What makes him/her laugh?
Being around friends, except he has none...

• What does he/she wish they could do that they can't?
Gain his father's approval...

• What is their secret dream? What one goal, ambition, or desire do they keep hidden from everyone? Is it small or large? Personal or global? Realistic or unrealistic? Is she actually trying to accomplish it (and how?), or do they consider it untenable?
To gain his father's approval...

• What is their worst fear? What terrifies them? What do they dread? Is it something terribly personal, or a generic phobia? How did they acquire this fear? Are they ashamed of it?
The death of his family, except his father...he is ashamed about how little he cares about his father...but he can do nothing about it...

• If she could be any famous person, who would it be and why?
He does not desire fame, and would shy away from it whenever possible.

• Where does your character live?
Minas Tirith

• Do they get sick? How often? What do they tend to come down with, and how do they handle it?
Not often, but normally he gets over tired or overstressed when he does get ill.

• What is your character like when they are drunk? Mellow? Melancholy? Friendly and fun? Laughs too much? Hits on everyone?
He tries not to get drunk, but is melanchony if he does...

• What is she like when they are grieving/mourning? Are they private with their grief? Quiet and stony? Crying loudly? In need of friends?
Quiet and Stony...

• What are they like when they are moody or despondent? Are they self-pitying, irritable, sad?
Abrupt and curt to the point of rudeness

• What is he/she like when they are celebrating celebrating? Do they have a quiet celebration at home, or do they gather their friends together for a big bash?
Generally he has very little to celebrate, but he hates big parties and would only invite thoes people close to him...

Hope that gives some insight into Roryn...

Just in case anyone forgets...

I must kill off Del as fast as I can, and Maen told me to kill him off in this fray. I wrote the part and posted it here long ago, remember? I'll post it here again since I've made quite a few changes since then...

Roryn has just said he'd stay, right? I have not counted on that - but I'd have to make do. Del would not want to 'miss out on the fun' and would stay. Ferethor would want to take vengeance upon Haradrim raiders that killed his father and also want to 'earn time' enough to protect the company.

So, Ferethor and Del and Atharen and Roryn face the outlaws. The situation goes according to plan, Roryn and Atharen leaves, Ferethor hesitates and gets injured, Del dies and Ferethor carry the news of Del's death back to the company.

"Greetings, fellow huntsmen of Harad! You wander far from your own land, we see. Why would you trouble us?" Ferethor spoke in the foul and uncouth language with ease, for he was versed in the speech of Harad. He struggled to keep his face expressionless and void of fury. but his eyes smoulderd with battle-lust.

"Fellow huntsmen, say you?" The man who seemed like a leader stepped forward, sneering derisively. "But we acknowledge no comraderie nor lordship with folk of Gondor. We live by our own laws and do as we wish."

Ferethor swallowed as he realised that persuasion was not going to work with these fierce outlaws. Some of the raiders have already notched the black-feathered arrows to their longbow, he noted. Atharen made a slight move and Ferethor knew that he had drawn his dagger. A little more time...

The leader, one who was clad in rough garments of leather and adorned with heathenish golden chains slowly raised his lance. "And my word is the law, Die, and curse in vain!"

Ferethor at once severed his lance-handle with an unexpected swift stroke of his own steel, crying, "For Gondor!" In the same, fluid movement, the blade buried itself in his chest and took his life. Instantly cries and uproar reverbrated the forest and echoed back in desolate sounds.

Ferethor wrenched his blade out and reeled to face others, trying to slash out of the scene of battle. Pinning a striken outlaw with his own spear to a tree and shattering his sable shield with foul designs engraved as if it was glass, Ferethor ducked from the arrows that whistled overhead. For a moment even as he broke out of the ring he could see Del holding a mounted raider at bay with a broken spear pole and a double-edged sword.

Del dealt a death stroke to one of the other bandits, crying "Flee!" as he battled. His splintered shield of earthen-bornw lay beneath his feet as he faced the others. Yet Ferethor stood transfixed on the spot.

"Leave him!" Atharen called, his voice tinged with pain. "Del buys us time to escape with his blood. Let us take it, and go! It is ours to live." But still Ferethor hesitated in a dreamlike state, lingering. Only when Atharen, driven by urgency, cried, "Ferethor!" did he come back to full awareness. Turning with his hands clenched, Ferethor asked, "Leave him there?" Atharen replied as he mounted his horse "There is nothing we can do."

And Ferethor knew that it was true. He ran through a mounted raider who met a swift end at his alreay bloodstained blade, and leaped on his horses, galloping across the open fields. A volley of arrows whistled over his head, and the arrowheads seemed aflame in the light of the sunset. The poor horse whinnied in pain and fell heavily on the ground as it was shot through the heart. Ferethor, narrowing avoiding falling with it, made for the woodlands on foot.

He winced as a searing pain cut through his shoulders, one of the parting gifts from a bandit archer. He hid himself in the shadows of trees. A few moment later, the raiders themselves came to look for him.

"Sir! He wouldn't have gone far." One said confidently, shouldering his bow. "I am pretty sure that I got him." But thw man who seemed to be in command now turned. "We do not have times to search for a single man in the woodlands all night! We head back to our refuge by Anduin by nightfall."

The darkness of night fell on the forest slowly. Ferethor lost conciousness by the loss of blood.

Ferethor came to his conciousness painfully, as the sun sank behind the snow-crowned peaks of Misty Mountains. Passing a hand over his fevered brow, he slowly rose to his feet. Ferethor was faint with loss of blood and in great anguish, so that he had taken but few steps before he swayed and grasped a tree for support in dismay. After a moment of strife with his weariness and grief, he sank down by a young birch to comtemplate his next move as darkness gathered.

"A bitter end is this to all my hope!" He cried out in bitterness. "Yet while my strength remains I must go on." Indeed it was only his stern will that aided him as he crept from the eve of encircling trees to the scene of battle, which was terrible to behold. So it was that Ferethor came upon Del in the midst of slain.

"Del!" Ferethor knelt down, clasping his hand. "Awake! We are alone." At his call Del stirred and opened his eyes, bright and moist but foreshadowed with death."Ferethor, my time has passed. Falling valiantly in battle was my desire, rather then fall prey to old age and die witless and alone." Del winced as he slightly raised his head to meet Ferethor's concerned gaze, speaking in a low voice strained with effort and anguish. "Such desire is fulfilled, and I am content. Do not mourn for me. I have only this to bid you - watch over the company in my stead. Farewell, until we meet again beyond the circles of this world!" So ended Del, not the least valiant of the warriors of Edain. Ferethor fell silent stricken with sorrow, utterly regardless of his own pain and weariness.

At last Ferethor gently took the hilt of hte sword from Del's lifeless hand and saw that it had broken asunder. Laying it at his feet wiht all the other weapons of bandits that he could gather, Ferethor laughed as one fey with bitter anguish of mind, crying "Thus have you been enmeshed in the Doom of Illuvatar to children of Men, and have escaped the circles of this world."

Then Ferethor sought to cool his fevered brow as he took his flint and kindled a bundle of leaves, gazing at the fiery flame as if hypnotized by it's rhythmic movements before casting it down. The barren dune was set aflame and wreathed in smoke, as consuming flame devoured the bloodstained field. Turning, he left the charred and blackened field behind him, naming it "@#$#@-en-@#$@", the plain of Immeasureable Sorrow.

Ferethor then took to tracking the lost company through the woods, spent with grief and the wound ever sapping his strength. He had little hope to follow a horseback company in such a state. Indeed Ferethor would have fain laid himself down and embraced death had he not been driven by Del's bidding to watch over the company in his stead.

it was, when thrice the sun have risen over the Misty Mountains, Ferethor limped into the camp weary and utterly spent. He leaned upon a young birch silently as he watched the others. Maen and others were all gathered around the campfire with darkened countenance shadowed by grief.

Atharen it was who first broke the silence. "Thrice already have the sun risen and brought us no news of Ferethor or Del. If Ferethor at least were alive they should be here with us by now. It is my belief that Ferethor, who was proud and would not run from the terror of death have been slain also by the ruthless raiders from the far east where the stars are strange."

A low murmur pervaded the regions by the fire. Maen then spoke at last heavily, "It was suicidal mission. I will not try to console anyone of their grief for I know I cannot ease their minds, but time presses. We must leave by dawn."

And then Ferethor had found the strength in his mind to manage a weak smile, as he spoke aloud from the shadows, by the tree in which he was leaning and supporting himself. "I must disappoint you by pointing out that I am still alive, Maen Il Garoth. Long have the trek been from the scene of battle to this glade, with my injury, so you'd have to excuse me of being rather late." And then, his wound got better of him and his will almost swooned to the darkness. Ferethor swayed for a moment, then fell heavily as he vainly grasped at the tree. Why would not my body respond? Pain, blood...

The thought of killing off Del in this fray shall make Crystal very sad in her thoughts and very silent for a little bit. She will not acknowledge the fact that she is slowly, but surely becoming friends with everyone in the company.

I applaude you Ferethor on your post. Please post it soon.

I have been thinking about a new and random plot to add to this. Ferethor if I read correctly, for I was reading very fast before posting to your wonderful post, that your character Ferethor is injured. I was wondering if this could be the bridge that binds Ferethor and Crystal out of enemies and into a weird unconventional friendship that is wary of one another, but respectful and no swords shall clash between them once more?

Crystal Heart- daughter of General Dorian of Rohan does know Roharrium (I do hope I spelt that word correctly. My mind is wandering roughly upon the seas of my life at the moment my friends) medical techniques, but her traveller knowledge would actually be better in this situation.

If you would like to adventure into that part of who Crystal Heart is and what she can do and would like to try out this unconventional friendship then I am all for it.

The darkness of night fell on the forest slowly. Ferethor lost conciousness by the loss of blood.

teeny tiny problem... They dont have the Facilities to run a blood transfusion or give Ferethor more blood, so if he passed out form blood loss methinks he could not recover in 3 days, methinks he would be dead.

An Alternative, shock. If he had a wound like that and he needed to be up and back in 3 days without dying, shock seems more plausible.

And I decided to divide my last long and big post into three posts, so other people would have time to elaborate on their own descriptions and roleplay post.

I am afraid this is my first time describing a battle (and serious roleplaying in general) so I'm terrible at it. I don't like blood and gore, you see. I could not learn from Professor Tolkien's works because he never described battles to detail... I'm eager to read other people's descriptions and learn from them. Isn't learning from others what the roleplay is all about, except fun?

I am delighted with the roleplay at the moment! Everyone's post seems wonderful especially ATharen's putting Del out of his misery! *hugs everyone* :D

So let me see if I get the plot straight...

1. Ferethor was shot but nobody noticed.
2. Atharen put Del out of his misery with an arrow
3. Atharen and Roryn fled from the scene of battle
4. They realized that Ferethor wa not with them
5. Atharen goes back to search and Roryn goes on.
6. Roryn reaches the campsite and deliver the news

If I am to play out the melodramatic scene about Del's death I guess Atharen must not find Ferethor. Maybe he could find his elven knife that he would never forsake embedded in a tree or something and assume he was dead ans the search was in vain? And think Del was dead. and go back to the company..

Then I can now write my part about Ferethor awakening and limping back to the scene of battle and Del's last words. And on foot tracking the others to the campsite. I thought 'thrice have the sun risen' is too much. Just one day would suffice. What do you think about it?

But now I am off to write my post...

Hama Of The Riddermark

Eorl of Rohan
03-14-2004, 02:21 AM
I've also thought of that too. Atharen could still do the description, with or without my post, I think. He could still do the searching part...

03-14-2004, 02:51 PM
Eorl - Just a point: the reason Atharen shot Del was to give him a very quick death, especially compared to the sort of torment the Haradrim may have inflicted. Therefore it isn't maybe really appropriate that Del's death scene was so played out, much as it was indeed nicely written. :(

So it was that when the sun have already again risen over the Misty Mountains, Ferethor limped into the camp weary and utterly spent. He leaned upon a young birch silently as he watched the others with grave counteneance in earnest discussion of their future moves not fain enough to declare his arrival. Maen and others were all gathered around the campfire with darkened countenance shadowed by grief.

Atharen it was who first broke the silence as he slowly drew forth an elven knife. "The sun have already risen and brought us no news of Ferethor and my search was vain except for this knife. If he were at least alive he should be here with us by now. It is my belief that Ferethor, who was proud and would not run from the terror of death have been slain also by the ruthless raiders from the far east where the stars are strange."

A low murmur pervaded the regions by the fire and died down like the fire into embers.

Long have the trek been from the scene of battle to this glade, with my injury, so you'd have to excuse me of being rather late."

And then, his wound got better of him and his will almost swooned to the darkness. Ferethor swayed for a moment, then fell heavily as he vainly grasped at the tree. Why would not my body respond? Pain, blood...

Ferethor sank down on the long grass laden with sunlit golden dews, his anguish visible in his pale countenance. Clenching his teeth he endevoured to rise but fell back, and other people's shouts were but dim murmuring to Ferethor.

He was indeed a sight to gasp at in horror. His pearly-grey bloodstained robe was torn by countless parries and encounters with steel, and a fresh ran down the length of his cheek which was crusted over with dirt and caked with blood. The arrow Ferethor had been unable to wrench out was still embedded in his shoulder, though its raven-black shaft was broken off. His tousled hair was unkempt and bloodied, and his pale countenance was twisted almost beyond recognition with anguish.

"Ferethor! I thought you were dead!" Someone cried out, which roused him to open his eyes, and see with blurring vision that all others were gathered around him. He could not decipher their expressions with clarity - relief, joy, wonder.... Naked hatred? Who was it? Caranthir... Impossible.

Ferethor managed to raise himself into a sitting position unsteadily, refusing any aid and waveringly supporting himself by a tree. He gasped, "May Neocromancer take the accursed outlaws and drag them to the inaccessible Void! They almost took me down."

That is about it.

And Crystal, please don't make his injury fatal. He does not have much time left. I don't have any problems with it myself but Maen doesn't like that, as she expressed herself a while ago.

Everdawn

I don't have any problems with it myself but Maen doesn't like that, as she expressed herself a while ago.

IM pretty sure Maén wouldnt have a problem with it, seing she is a fictional character in the Role Playing Game

Everdawn on the other hand, being me... Does not have a porblem with it as such is as Hama pointed out, Aman may want to have Atharen expredd himself a little better and have enough time for the others to adjust to the situation. Remember we have a lot of time ot do this, it doesnt need to be rushed.

I eman the events of the night have to played out in the group, they have to notice that Ferethor has been gone and that Atharen and Roryn cant find him. Do you understand what im gettin at?

Eorl, i was thinking as well about Ferethor getting hit by arrows, and i think it would be more realistic for it not to hurt him badly so early in the journey. We are still a fair way form another surprise ive got in store (my fave, by the way). In all reality it would take a normal person weeks of rest and medical attention to get over getting hit by an arrow. Now im just going on the assumption that it's like being stabbed. Perhaps it could be "just a flesh wound"

Here you go.

To everyone in our company which I have embarked on this quest with:

When Crystal Heart thinks that Ferethor doesn't have much time- it is not the truth. It is the fears of a young woman. She fears that she can not save him in time. She made the mixture from knowledge that the travellers gave her a couple of years ago.

Remember, just because I write it doesn't mean she speaks it which also doesn't mean that it is true. As a wise woman once told me, "Anyone can say anything, it doesn't necessarily make it the truth." It is only the thoughts of my character.

I apologize if my post is untimely and must be changed. Eorl of Rohan is you need to change a part in yours that corresponds in mine then please PM me and tell me about these parts or otherwise post them here in the discussion forum. No need to delet posts, just a little tactful editing is all! You do know that Shire Mods have the power to insert posts in places, ok... All we were after was a little time for the rangers to talk about/or their adventure in finding Ferethor and Seeing Del off, finding the others and informing them that Ferethor is missing. Do you all understand?

Presently its like...
Roryn: Maén, Atharen is looking for Ferethor.
Atharen: ??? (is he being successful?)-
FERETHOR: Suddenly a time later, comes back into camp.
So it's kinda like we have never really missed Ferethor in the first place is it?

Any questions?

Ok, since I do not have time to read all those posts, could someone give me a brief update?

This is what I figured out, could you fill me in on the details?

-the group was attacked while they were sleeping
-Roryn, Atharan, Ferethor, and Del went to fight the things
-only Roryn returned, thinking the others were dead
-the group started to ride away from camp

is that right? What really happened to Atharan and Ferethor? And Del accually did die, right?

Confused,

Ferethor came to his conciousness painfully, as the sun sank behind the snow-crowned peaks of Misty Mountains

Im sorry to sund like im nagging, but we are not even close to the misty mountains. So if the sun was falling behind the Misty Mountains you would have to be in Eastern Middle Earth, a whole world away form where we are now.

Now looking at our geography, ive had to put us on the same side of the Anduin still, so we are at some stage going to have to cross the river, and shortly, which is why i did not want to be attacked so early in the game. Now heres another porblem, if we were attacked by Haradrim, where the hell did they come from? Origionally I had intended them to be just normal bandits, an idea I stole from another of my RP characters. And if we have crossed the river, why did no one mention it?

Any suggestions? Ill attah the map to give you guys an idea of where we are at.

Eorl of Rohan
03-20-2004, 05:51 AM
Wow. Thanks for telling me, I have no idea at all concerning geography, Middle Earth or real. Dreadfully boring subject.

Misty Mountain and Cahadras happens to be only mountains I know of and I make use of them now and then ^_^ I believe I already made several references to Misty Mountains, do I need to change them all?

I'll look over my posts and change it.... Wait. What mountains could be seen where we are?

_____________________________________________

As for your next question, I'm also not qualified to answer but I do have an idea.

In LOTR it says that Remnant of Haradrim stood firm for a last desperate stand, etc.... That would probably mean some at least have survived and escaped into the wild, beyond the reach of Gondorian Guards in th very hearts of forests, taking to a wild and woodland life. And they gather into small groups (eg. outlaw band that Neithan Turin joined) that prey off on unwary travelers and lone wanderers.

Everdawn
03-20-2004, 06:26 AM
Yeah, but do you really think that the Haradrim would be that close to MInas Tirith, I think not, becuase after all we arent that far away from it.

Em, so we are still in a bind.

Everdawn
03-20-2004, 06:29 AM

*is also in a fix*

I hope more knowledgeable roleplayers might come along and help us out...

Amanaduial the archer
03-20-2004, 07:07 AM
I think the idea was that after the war, many of the now homeless and leaderless Haradrim wandered Middle Earth, scattering from the Reunited kingdom forces. Many of them would probably become bandits - outlaws with nowhere else to do, with this as probably one of their only options. But there would be outlaws no matter what, probably - less than in the times before the war, but still. However, the fact these outlaws were a band of Haradrim is more a byword than a main feature - it just happened that this particular band happened to be people of Harad.

Alright?

Everdawn
03-20-2004, 05:47 PM
yeah, allright.

Eorl of Rohan
03-21-2004, 02:22 AM
There are some questions that will need to be resolved. For instance, I cannot post until Ferethor wakes up and that won't be until much time has passed. That would mean Crystal would not have a chance to reply to Maen's post. Would it be ok to move the time period to midnight?

The next one happens to be this - Crystal did not elaborate upon the pendant that she referred to. I was wondering if I may take the liberty to describe the pendant more fully. Here is the post.

...... The anguish with which Ferethor suffered from ebbed down and faded with the passage of time, for which he was much glad. Then Ferethor noted with some surprise and doubt that something hung by his neck and reached out for it. Slender links of silver and bronze links clinked in his hands and a pendant of exquisite workmanship was fastened at the end. It was wrought of silver and Ithildin and inlaid with chips of sapphire and ruby, and gleamed in the likeness of Telperion's blossom.

Turning it over bemusedly in his hands, Ferethor noted tiny letters scratched in the silver-wrought petals on the metallic blossom. "May Lady of the Stars ward thee from peril, Crystal" Murmuring the words he could decipher, Ferethor was dismayed to learn that it was Crystal's and impulsively cast it down. The fair pendant, striking a stone in its descent, rolled into the mud and gleamed there still though it was half-buried in the mud. ......

Would this description be all right, Crystal Heart?

PS. And I changed my mountain into 'encircling moutains'.

piosenniel
03-21-2004, 02:38 AM
Eorl of Rohan

Most of the action is taking place in the vicinity of Minas Tirith.

The Encircling Mountains, Echoriath, were in Beleriand which was destroyed in the first Age during the War of Wrath.

Here is a map of the area of Gondor.

The mountains you need to use are The White Mountains, Ered Nimrais - they run from Gondor to Rohan.

Yes, I've been meaning to ask you this but never have, Everdawn. What season is it right now? I put 'summer' in my last post, becuase I guessed so. I'm willing to edit it out if it isn't summer, though.

And another thing - Idruil's impatience post in continuing where Everdawn had left off, right? What happens to the time change in Ferethor's post, then? Shall I delete it and post it after Idruil's? If so, Everdawn won't get time to reply of Idruil's post, will she?

And as Pio the Mod had requested, it is now named 'White Mountains'. That you for giving me the map, couldn't see it on my computer but I'll take revered mod's word for it.

Last thing, Crystal, what kind of 'retributal' will it be? Would she just go up to him and demand an explanation, or something else? If it is the first one, Ferethor can easily deny all knowledge of the pendant and say it might have unclasped nad fallen off on its own.

Yes, my rambling is over.

EDIT: Idruil had noticed Roryn's absence, which would mean that he accepts that Roryn went to bury Del. That would make Ferethor's post about burning down the field along with everyone in it nil, does that mean I have to edit my post?

OK the plan for the next stage of the game...

We have to cross the Anduin , presently as i see it we are at the south of Lossentarch sand need to cross. When that is done...
** Two guards of Minas Tirith begin to collaborate behind Maén’s back.
** Company stay in a small village as they all try and collect info, travelling south-east.
** One wealthy man, an old guard from the war, hears of their venture in the market and invited them to stay a night at his estate with himself and his son. And tell them what he knows.

Eorl of Rohan
04-02-2004, 01:01 AM
I see. Can you elaborate more on 'collaborating behind Maen's back' scene? I doubt Ferethor's the kind for secrecy and stealth, being all this morose and direct soldiery type...

What would they collaborate about?

Everdawn
04-02-2004, 01:26 AM
Well Elessar sent them to aprehend Guriel should Maén lead them to him, I dont remember exactly but Elessar wanted the guards to capture him, which is not good for Maén becuase she wants to kill him. PLus we havent heard much of the two guards talking to eachother about the project either. They may speak of how well they think they are doing 'undercover' as Maén or Carathir do not know they are guards yet.

No. I was in a Kill Bill mood, and i borrowed that line from the trailer for Vol 2. "When i get to my destination, im gonna Kill Bill" thought it added an appropriate touch to her mindset. :D

OK – For all intents and purposes, the Barrow-Downs’ birthday party is nearly done. Let’s start thinking about bringing this game into the home stretch.

Everdawn wrote this on 4/25, Post #230:

Maén kicked Hittai and both horse and rider set off at a fast pace galloping across the dry grassland yards ahead of the rest. To the north east just out of view was the hills of Emyn Arnen, by looks the company had by passed it on the other side of the Anduin, for they had gone very far south. On the other side of the Anduin, the company was still north of Pelargir. She was sure that they would make it to their destination by nightfall, which would mean that they would have to camp, for there was no inn until Jacobe’s Run, a place which Maén was sure that there was another more local name for, though she did not know it.

And here is the last bit of outline I could find posted:

**** Find one letter saying that the last place he was living in Ithilien, confirming Aunt Lysia’s suspicions..

- DONE

---------------------------------------------------------------------

**** Travel to Osgiliath

– THIS HAS BEEN ACCOMPLISHED CORRECT?

---------------------------------------------------------------------

**** Two guards of Minas Tirith begin to collaborate behind Maén’s back.

- CAN ONE OF THE MINAS TIRITH GUARDS DO A POST SETTING THIS UP – DISCUSSING THE PLANS ELESSAR HAS FOR THEM CONCERNING IL GALOTH

---------------------------------------------------------------------

**** Company stay in a small village as they all try and collect info, traveling south-east.

- THIS IS WHERE YOU APPEAR TO BE HEADING AT THE MOMENT – TO THE INN AT JACOBE’S RUN

– CAN SOMEONE TAKE THE INITIATIVE AND POINT EVERYONE IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION

- ANOTHER OR THE SAME PLAYER CAN DO A SUMMING-UP-THE-RIDE POST AND ACTUALLY GET YOU ALL TO THE INN

---------------------------------------------------------------------

**** One wealthy man, an old guard from the war, hears of their venture in the market and invited them to stay a night at his estate with himself and his son. And tell them what he knows.

THIS WILL HAPPEN ONCE YOU GET TO JACOBE'S RUN-

---------------------------------------------------------------------

** From there it is a short write to the surprising end of the game, I think

---------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------

I am opening another RPG the first week in June, and this game needs to be done by then to free up both my schedule and allow the players in this game to play in the next game if they so desire.

Thanks!

To all whom have journyed this far:

Hello to everyone. I do apologize for not posting in here as of late, but I did not have anything to add to the discussion.

However, I do have something that I would like to address at this moment to Atharen.

Atharen are you still with us? You haven't posted in a while and I was wondering if the plot between Miss Crystal and Lord Atharen would continue. She has asked you to name her horse and they have ridden up to Maen when she stopped in Jacobe's field. I do hope that you will post soon.

To question what Pio typed previously may I ask what the other RPG is about? Will you release the name or is that not allowed. I was just wondering and I do desire to join in the next RPG.

“Aeronir, remember Lord Elessar’s especial command to us?” Ferethor asked in a low voice as Aeronir noticed his flash of signal and drew his horse closer to the Captain’s own. “He told us that it was vital that Il Garoth be capture alive on all costs, and he seemed very empathic on that point.”

One Question: Is there to be a camp-out in the wild before the group arrives at Jacobe's Run, or is straight there from the field everyone is galloping through?

Alrighty, Pio and others, I have gotten the fellow/galship (take that, political correctness!) to the outskirts of Jacobe's Run. Everdawn, if the description of the village is not to your liking, please say so. Also, everyone else, I did take some liberties with other characters, and have engaged them in a bit of sporting, on-trek/track fun. I think Idruil's starting to feel like the 'ice' has been broken between him and everyone else, here's to hoping they feel the same.

There - I reposted :) See what you think, Crystal especially.

However, just one thing...I am a little confused by the way all of you seem to know about Crystal and Atharen's love, even though they themselves were not sure. Obviously Roryn and Iduril were told, but the rest...I don't know. It just seems a little silly that they all immediately and definitely know just like *snap* that.

Crystal Heart

Kransha
05-10-2004, 05:46 PM
*pulls out popcorn* This is getting good!

Two things, if anyone would like to hear said two things.

1. GREAT posts, Aman and Crystal. This...umm..relationship is really developing the RPG, giving depth to Atharen and Crystal as well as allowing my character, Roryn, and the others a chance to be either intrigued or curious about the strange emotional twist each persona has taken (with a perfectly planned abruptness, I might add).

2. I am forced, or inclined, to agree with Aman and Crystal upon inspecting some posts. Roryn and Idruil spent more time around Atharen just before the arrival at Jacobe's Run and during. It seems that they would understand what's going on (perhaps they think its a little less serious than it actually is). Also, upon same inspection, it seems to me that Atharen and Crystal's feelings are not obvious. In fact, their disguising of the fact is just opaque enough to conceal it. Perhaps someone of Maen's wit might have deciphered it to some extent, but otherwise...hmmm...consideration.

Crystal Heart
05-10-2004, 07:13 PM

Meh, I only meand for Maén to mention it in passing. To quote character profile, 'she is very sharp in her attention to detail', and she had to be, on this mission. Crystal Heart

Everdawn-I had no intentions of making my posts anything but G rated.

I would like to announce to you all that I am in the midst of planning a game which all of you are invited to join. It will be called Seekers of Truth. Here is the story's plot:

A young twenty three year old woman wanders into a Rohan Inn with no money, no weapons, and almost no memory.

This woman is Eowyn Lightheart, daughter and heir to the grand Lightheart estate. Her uncle, Harold Lightheart and his sons Samuel and Arnold Lightheart planned to get rid of her making Samuel and Arnold the new heirs to the dynasty.

The brothers and Eowyn head out to Gondor for trading with another family. Eowyn was going to learn how to since she would be running that one day. Her cousins spooked her horse, was bucked off, and then hit in the head twice. Once by a rock, the other by Arnold. They rode off with her horse, sword, and money.

She does remember who she is once she comes in the Inn, a smell awakes some of her memories.

This story is about revenge (thusly I thought as we are in a RP about revenge quest I thought you'd all would enjoy it) and how this woman has to find it without her half her memory.

Now that I have spoken breifly about the plot and have invited you all to it I hope you will consider it and hopefully even join. It has been a great pleasure RPing with you. Thank you all for your time.

Are we right to move onto the dinnerparty and the nightime activities?

Crystal Heart
05-13-2004, 10:58 AM
I think we should move on.

Also I would like to propose this new aspect. Since Crystal and Atharen have told each other their feelings and the new people we are around believe that Crystal is Atharen's fiancee then they should "act" like it when really they aren't. Does this make sense? What I'm trying to say is they are really holding hands and kissing around people because they are in love with each other, but everyone else besides the new people will think it is all an act. It is just a thought.

This is what I want to propose: (It would come after the post or modify it to that post that I just posted in the other thread.)

She jolted out of bed suddenly, when she heard something zoom past her face. She rushed to the open window and watched as a shadowy figure rode away. Her hands trembled as she relit the light. The arrow carried a message that was written in strange handwriting that she had never seen before.

Beware Crystal Heart, you're death will be soon.

What do you guys think? If its stupid I'll forget it. If it's awesome then YAY!! ( I apologize if this isn't the way that I normally act. At the moment I am on a lot of pain killers. They aren't heavy ones or nothing, but they do stuff all the same.)

The feast to play out then everyone to go leaving Maén, Arriten and Arridan alone.. This will give more time for other characters interact.
By this time it will be night, then Crystal can i dunnow, go to bed or something then have the arrow shot at her window.

Crystal!" Maén's only been strangled, which woiuld mean she's still hurt but the blood is Arriten's from where she killed him to stop him killing her. :)

Sorry I'll fix my post. I allowed a friend of mine to post for me. He just got confused. I allowed him to post for me because I had an accident and couldn't get over to the computer. I apologize.

Anyone know where Eorl of Rohan is? The game is nearing the end and Eorl is nowhere to be seen! We need to guards to reveal themselves now

I'm alright now. I was in a car accident. I have stitches in my leg and my best friend didn't want me to walk over to the computer or any place for that matter! He's quite protective of me. I'm perfectly fine. The stitches will be taken out in a couple of weeks or so.

What a fine two weeks I've had! First food poisoning and now stitches. I'm sure lucky huh? Lol. I'm just kidding.

As a matter of fact I haven't even heard from Eorl of Rohan for quite a while. And while we are on the subject, Everdawn is my post correct now? Do you need me to change anything?

Frankly, as I sit here typing I'm beginning to wonder where anyone else is. I was only gone a couple of days and the plot had taken drastic steps forward, but now it seems to have stop once more. Are we going to be able to make the dead line?? I hope so.

Until next time!

I know, im worried that its stopped and we have only a few days left! Ill have another post up tomorrow morning because ill I wont be home tonight, anyway, that will move us along near the end, looks like im going to have to take care of Aelimur and Ferethor and Carathir myself. I just wish people would give notice if they were going to drop out of the game!

I shall try to move the plot on as quickly as I possibly can without hurting the ending that you hoped to achieve.

I don't know if I'm really a person of 'authority,' but I think I can safely say you're still in the RPG, Eorl. I'm not quite sure how you wouldn't be. Is there even a way to 'kick people out of RPGs' unless they've done something horribly, horribly wrong? Well, nevermind my drabble.

Eorl, You can redeem yourself by posting...soon. Catch up on what you missed and get those guards a-traitorizin' (forgive me, I do not think that is actually a word).

No Eorl, youre not banned, its just when people dissapear from the game for a while without notice they tend never to come back... ie- Melisil, and its very annoying for not only the game owner but the players they they dont give notice. Thats three so far in this game who have left, Melisil, Thengel, and Eladain Moruviel. Its just not fair of the other players. In future though, try and let us know if you are going to be away.

But thank goodness you came back! ;)

It is very good to see that you are back with the company. I have to agree with Everdawn in the annoyance that occurs when people leave and never return, but you have return so thus I shan't be annoyed with you. :) I hope that you are well.

As a point of information: In the Shire and in Rohan, those who absent themselves from a game for 2 weeks, and without notice on the Discussion Thread may have their characters taken over by others in the game (or the game moderator) and characters killed off as needed. (See the Red Book of Westmarch)

Eorl, you have been accepted back into the game owner.

Please, everyone post to the Game now, and bring it to a successful conclusion.

ok IM going to post now which will bring us to the point where we leave Arriten's place and go to the place on the map where Maén saw Guriel's name. Then its not far to the end ok.

Everdawn

Ok, some reaction on the events from the moving out of Arriten's mansion, to the getting to the shanty is needed before I post again, one of the final posts... then I will write a time-lapse post that will get us to Lysia's, give you your characters money, and conclusions on characters. Maén's will be the end of the game.

Okay... =is busy catching up on posts= I'll write as soon as it is possible. Or would someone give me a quick sumary of 1. What to write 2. the way roleplaying is going on 3. The end we're supposed to be creating 4. Fate of Guriel

=breathes rapidly, her breath coming in gasps= Done. Read all the posts, typed up a satisfactory post. Again, I apologize. I am ashamed that I came back a day before the end. =sighs= Curse all parental units to the ninth hell of Dante's Inferno.

So, Everdawn, bring Maen to an encounter with Il Galoth, and Ferethor would bar the way just as the fighting's going to start and pull off the 'declaring his identity' magnificently. :)

I'd like to see Maen's reaction when Ferethor says something akin to, "In the name of High King Elessar and Gondor, I arrest Il Galoth and take him into the custody and protection of myself as the Captain of the Guards of Minas Tirith. Such was the especial order of Lord King, Maen, to arrest this renegade alive and therefore I cannot allow you to slay this traitor however deserving he may be of death. The decision of life and death of a Gondorian lies in the authority of the King Aragorn and his alone.

All shall be revealed in due time, and it will be something no one planned for but Aunt Lysia. :p

Edit: There is a moral to all this you know. ;)
