Novnarwen and Orofaniel invite you to play in their game:
Setting Sails for Valinor
Historical Background: The story takes place during the War of the Ring. At that time many Elves left Middle-earth, going to the Undying Lands by ship from the Grey Havens.
Frodo and the company have already been in Lothlorien and the Elves know all about Saruman’s betrayal.
Basic Storyline: A group of Elves (9 total) are setting out on a journey to the Grey Havens where there is a ship waiting to take them to the Undying Lands.
Tanroth, (Novnarwen’s character) the Lothlorien Elf, has been given the assignment from the Lady Galadriel to lead this group. The only problem is that there are only nine places left on the one remaining ship. Tanroth and his chosen friend Fíriel (Orofaniel's character, post #2) will hold a meeting where the eldest of the Elves are given priority, to leave these shores going to Valinor.

The purpose of the story is to: Get to the Grey Havens
This means we will know the story is over when: The group reaches their final goal, which is the Grey Havens. (Some will then decide whether to stay or to leave. I’ll come back to that later in the game. The owners will make this decision.)
Starting Location: Lothlorien
Likely destination: The Grey Havens

Timeframes:
This game takes place in the Third Age at around the year 3019. Frodo and the company left Lorien on February 16 (16 Solmath S.R. or by the Elves reckoning – 16 Coirë)
The storyline itself or plot covers about 1½ - 2 months.
This game requires a time commitment about 10 weeks from us, the game owners and from the major players.

Characters needed:
7 Elves, of Lothlorien only – (see needed male/female players below) in addition to the 2 Lothlorien Elves the owners will play.
Players: Please read this before you write your character descriptions for Elves:
Return of the King: Appendix F: Tolkien’s description for the Quendi (The Speakers) - the name given to the Elves by themselves after they first awoke in Middle-earth. Please use this as a guideline for crafting your Elven character’s appearance. “They were a race high and beautiful, the older Children of the world, and among them the Eldar were as Kings, who now are gone: the People of the Great Journey, the People of the Stars. They were tall, fair of skin and grey-eyed, though their locks were dark, save in the golden house of Finrod; and their voices had more melodies than any mortal voice that is now heard . . .”
* We will accept blue-grey eyes as a color - no other exceptions will be made. *
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Quendi (The Speakers) is the name given to the Elves by themselves, when they first awoke. The Vala, Oromë, when he found the Elves after their awakening, named them the Eldar (People of the Stars). After the summons of the Valar to return to the West, the name Eldar was used only for those three branches of the Elven race that answered the call and did complete the journey: Noldor, Vanyar, and most of the Teleri (the Nandor and Sindar were the names of the groups of Telerin who turned back from the journey).
All of Elven kind are clustered under the name, Quendi - so please make your character descriptions fit Tolkien’s ideas.
One other consideration for the female Elven characters: Tolkien’s female Elven characters are not shown as warriors - they can be skilled at weapons, and be able to defend themselves, but they do not ride off to battles with their male counterparts.

Novnarwen’s character:
NAME: Tanroth
AGE: 3714
RACE: Lothlorien Elf
GENDER: Male
WEAPONS: Thanroth prefers to use a sword, but is happy to use a bow too. He is also good with daggers.
APPEARANCE: Tanroth is a stout and strong man. He is a true warrior. Tanroth is not extremely fair, he is just Tanroth, the one all consider as a friend.
He has grey blue eyes. They are small and do not glitter with any form of light anymore. The reason is that he is aging. And for every day that passes, they seem emptier and emptier. His hair is blond like many of the Lothlorien Elves. It reaches to about his shoulders, and is both thin and soft.
PERSONALITY/STRENGTHS/WEAKNESSES: Tanroth is determined and conscientious. Some would even say dead serious. All the same, he is a funny, outgoing person. He is logical and practical, though not quick thinking. “Everything takes time” would seem to be his motto and philosophy.
Tanroth has always separated his work and his personal life. He doesn’t allow himself to be light hearted at work, or to be heavy hearted on his free time. In that way he has kind of a “split personality”. You can know one half without really knowing the other half. He is strange in a way, but his friends love him for the Elf he is.
His greatest weakness is perhaps that he is struggling between two different worlds. His position in Lothlorien is highly respected and as a personal guard for the Lady of the Wood he has never really had the time to settle down. In other words, Tanroth lives alone without mate and children.
Tanroth’s greatest strength is just this: how he deals with his living situation. He never gives the impression of suffering. He tries to look at the bright side, and when he is down, he finds a friend to cheer him up.
HISTORY:Tanroth has lived all his live in Lothlorien. He never seems to grow tired of these woods. His childhood is nothing but a happy memory to him. (The main reason for him not leaving Lothlorien is his childhood. He doesn’t want to forget the past. The woods make him remember much in great detail.)
As an only child, he became even more alone when his parents went to the Undying Lands. He was far too young then, only 978 years old, and wanted to experience many more things. He therefore chose to stay behind.
At the age of 1494, he became a warrior for the Lady, and for Lothloien. His training and studies had by then lasted for many years. A short while afterwards he was rewarded for his devotion. Tanroth proceeded to the next “level” of responsibility and became a personal guard for Galadriel. Down through the ages, he has been alone, without mate. He has many friends though. His work takes most of his time, but after so many years, he still loves it.

Orofaniel’s character:
Name: Firiel
Age: 3753
Gender: Female
Race: Lothlorien Elf
Appearance: Firiel is quite tall. Her hair reaches down to her back and it glows like silver. The thick silver hair surrounds her face, which is pale. Her face hasn't always been pale; in her youth when she felt young, it was light and beautiful. Her eyes, which are blue-grey, are always noticed, because they are very special. Firiel's mouth has said many words and sung many songs throughout the years, but she is now getting tired. The red lips are starting to fade and the colour is growing paler for each day that goes by.
Weapons: She, as most Elves, has very good sight. Her bow skills are therefore strong. She has a bow, which was given by her brother Ibestion. She has never been in a battle, though, but she knows how to defend herself or at least she thinks so.
Personality/Strengths/Weaknesses: She is quite overprotective, not in a bad way though. She is just being careful when it comes to new things. She likes to think things through before she does things. One of her strengths is that she is willing to sacrifice her life to the people she loves, the ones she is closest to.
Firiel has her weaknesses though. Sometimes she is a bit "too" careful when it comes to trusting people. She doesn't really know the reason, because she hasn't really had a bad experience or something. It's just something that has been growing inside of her. It isn't very easy to come in contact with Firiel at first. But if you give her some time to come around and show that you are trust worthy, she can be social and very friendly.
A conversation with Firiel can vary from one time to the next. She can start telling funny stories and things like that, but she has a serious side too. She can develop an interesting conversation within a couple of minutes and discuss the topic until she falls asleep. She is an independent woman and has her own opinions and shares them gladly. Her friends admire her for that.
Sometimes Firiel doesn't think of this garrulousness as a weakness, because with this "process" she really knows who her real friends are.
History: Firiel is the only daughter of Ibesten and Firistinwen. She has four brothers however. They are called Ibestion (the oldest one), Firstion, Forgrost and Itellion (the youngest one).
Her brothers are much older than Firiel and they left Middle-Earth long ago. Her parents went with them. That means that only Firiel remains, something she doesn't like. She is ready to meet her family again.
Firiel had a very happy childhood; she was surrounded with a loving and caring family. Her brothers thought her to ride and how to handle weapons at an early age.
Firiel married Rostion when she was 1006. They have no children but they don't mind. They have each other. One reason for their choice, not to have children, is based on the Shadow that is now upon them. The couple doesn’t want to bring a child into the world when it is 'dark'.

Novnarwen’s post: (first for the game)
”You may know why I have called on you, Tanroth, loyal warrior of Lothlorien.” She spoke in a deep voice. Her eyes were laid on the now aging Elf, standing in front of her.
Tanroth, on the other hand tried not to look at her. It was impossible if he was going to answer her today. Nevertheless, he couldn’t stop staring at her ivory-white dress, embroidered with thin green thread. Her face was fair and her eyes glittered in the fading light. She kept looking at him too, and in a wondering voice she said: “Well.” It sounded as if she was going to continue but didn’t.
”You want me to lead a quest,” Tanroth said at once, without giving Galadriel another look.
She smiled at him and gave a nod. She seemed pleased with this answer and, with a gracious look, she invited him to sit down. The Lady poured a glass of something reddish into a flagon and gave it to him. Tanroth smiled and set the glass to his lips. Galadriel seated herself before him and looked quite relaxed. “This is not just any quest,” she confided to him after a while. Tanroth looked at her with wide and wondering eyes. What was it she wanted him to do? Was it something of great importance? The questions made his head feel as if it was about to explode.
”Something of great importance,” she continued. The Elf looked now at the Lady more stunned than ever. Had she read his mind? Tanroth didn’t get the chance of giving that another thought, because of the lady’s movements towards the table between them. She seized from the table, a roll of parchment and gave it to him. Tanroth accepted it gladly. He rolled it open, and to his surprise, the content was much longer than he had expected. With great excitement he started reading the golden letters.
”I have called on thee. Thee of all I want to lead my quest," he read out loud. This was followed by a road description, horses at his disposal, and last of all, granted Tanroth access to the last ship going to the Undying Lands before the War started in earnest.
”You have no questions, I deem,” said Galadriel, meanwhile observing him to see if he had any sort of reaction she hadn’t counted on.
“Milady, I have one,” Tanroth said at last, thinking through what he had just read.
“One friend you shall bring, because of the perils that may befall. But only seven others may go with you. The ship is only capable of taking the nine of you, since there are already many who have left.” Galadriel looked upon Tanroth as she knew what he was thinking again. “No, Tanroth, I will not go now. My time is yet to come,” she muttered.
”But why?” he burst out. “Pardon, why will you not go?” he asked again, after he had calmed down. Tanroth couldn’t believe he had talked in such a voice to the Lady. He felt ashamed and could do nothing now.
”That is my friend, your second question. You had only one,” she assured him while rising. “I did not choose you to fail. The intention was quite the opposite. Incidentally, you will hold the meeting of the Elves today to decide who will go.” With those final words, she walked with great elegance out of the room.
Tanroth, however, was totally stunned. He was wondering what he should do now. The Elf set his empty glass on the table, and was escorted out.

Orofaniel’s post (2nd for the game)
It was late, the afternoon was fading and it would soon be evening. The darkness was falling heavily over the woods of Lothlorien. The sun was about to leave Middle-Earth and the moon was soon to rise when Firiel heard trembling steps in the stairs. They were followed by stern knocks on the door.
Firiel didn't like the look on the face of her friend Tanroth. He looked both happy and anxious while standing in front of her. He was about to tell her something; she knew that. It seemed important, so she let him talk without her interrupting.
"The Lady wants me to lead a quest." said the strong man in front of her. "A quest which will be both difficult and dangerous.” He continued,"She wants me to lead a group of Elves to the Grey Haven so they can take the White Ship to the Undying lands, to Valinor."
"But the war is upon us," Firiel said anxiously when Tanroth had finished.
"Yes I know, and so does the Lady. But this quest has to be done now." He spoke in a desperate voice. "Only seven Elves and one friend may follow me, because there are only nine places left on the ship. Many have gone already and we don't seem to have much time left if we want to see our relatives and family in Valinor. We may die in this war!" He sounded even more desperate. "Some of us are so old that we won't be able to fight."
Firiel had listen to all he had said, but there was one word that she had taken great notice of. Now she understood. "Friend, you say....." Firiel muttered. "You want m-me to follow, am I correct?"
"It is terrible how people just read my mind today" Tanroth smiled and gave a short laugh. "Yes, I want you to follow," he said afterwards. "I want you to help me with this quest, and not only that; I know how you have been wanting to see your brothers and parents again..." he said not smiling anymore. He looked rather serious now.
Then Firiel suddenly remembered Rostion, her husband. She couldn't just leave him. She loved him! "What about my husband then?" She asked after a while.
"I don't think you have to worry about him," Rostion said in a "calm-down-voice" "It will probably be the oldest Elves, and Rostion is one of them." He continued, "There will be a meeting where the Elves will be chosen...."
"There will be a meeting?" Firiel interrupted as soon as she heard the word.
"Yes, a meeting, the Elves that will follow will be chosen there," he repeated slowly. "I'm sure that everyone will agree that the oldest Elves should have first priority."
"I hope you are right," Firiel said quite anxious again. "When is this meeting then?" she asked all of a sudden.
.
"Now," Tanroth said quickly. "So we must hurry," he continued. He looked at her and gave a sign that she should follow.

Novnarwen’s post (3rd for the game)
A small crowd had gathered in the little meeting room. As the lady spoke all fell silent, but the murmurs were soon about to start. As she came to the spot mentioning that only seven could go, Firiel and Tanroth had to calm down a number of people. After this Galadriel left the room, wishing them the best of luck and hoping they would sort it out in the best way possible.
The floor was now Tanroth’s, and he spoke in a strong voice: “I know this is an opportunity none of you will want to miss. But surely as the lady said, everyone cannot go. Therefore I suggest . . .” A few of the Elves interrupted, but were silent after Firiel’s warning look. “I suggest,” Tanroth repeated, “that the seven oldest may go. This is their turn,” he said and fell silent.
The crowd seemed to agree. Most of them nodded and gave no sign of being sad on hearing the news about who would go except a few. After moments of pushing and making way for the seven, they all stood in front of Tanroth and Firiel. “Two females, and five men,” Firiel whispered in Tanroth’s ear. Rostion, Firiel’s husband, was of course one of them.
Tanroth passed each one of them, slipping a note in their hands. “The meeting is over,” he called. Tanroth turned on his heel walking swiftly towards the door.
”Wait!” The call of a male Elf rang through the hall and Tanroth turned around. “My place is here, and therefore, I will not leave,” spoke one of the oldest who went by the name of Siralil. He offered to give up his place and Tanroth took the little piece of paper from the Elf. Siralil pressed through the crowd and went out the door.
“Arilewen, the place is then yours. I know you are older then the others left. Do you want it?” he asked. From back in the room, they heard a cry. She was crying while receiving the note, an obvious sign that this was something she wanted. Tanroth looked over the Elves now. From one female and six men, the group had gone to two females and five men.
Firiel looked upon Tanroth and announced that now the meeting was over.
Both of them left the room without another word.

Here is Tanroth’s note that he gave to each of the company going with him:
We will leave tomorrow after sunrise. Please meet us by Tanroth's house. It's located on the outskirts of Lorien. From there we will go North-West. Take with you what you need, but not more. The journey will be difficult and perhaps dangerous.
Horses will not be needed, not now anyhow. We will travel by foot

NAME: Dunaire
AGE: 3723
RACE: Lothlorien Elf
GENDER: Male
WEAPONS: Dunaire prefers to use a sword, but is also very good with a bow. He carries two daggers which he can throw with deadly accuracy.
APPEARANCE: Dunaire has light grey eyes and black hair which just passes his ears. His nose is slightly larger than most elves, but it is dignified.
PERSONALITY/STRENGTHS/WEAKNESSES: Dunaire has a great love of laughter. He is very compassionate, and cannot stand to see someone hurt and not try to help. He prefers to avoid a fight whenever possible, but he is not a coward. He simply dislikes killing, even orcs. His biggest weaknesses are that he is sometimes too trusting, and also sometimes acts on impulse. He is not afraid of looking a little foolish at times, though he prefers not to. His greatest strength is that he never lets anything depress him, and is always ready with a light comment to cheer up another.
HISTORY: Dunaire has lived in Lothlorien most of his life, but he has never really called it home. He loves to travel to new places. This is the main reason for his choice to leave for Valinor. He never found a woman to love, and that is fine with him. He doesn't mind being alone, but does not actively seek solitude.

Elennar Starfire's post
Dunaire looked again at the note in his hand. Valinor... He would be leaving Middle-Earth forever. But soon, all the elves would leave, he would only be leaving sooner. Yes, he was ready. He refolded the note, and began to pack.
Afterwards, as the sun was setting, he walked among the mallorn trees, saying goodbye to Lothlorien. He picked up a fallen leaf and carried it home, where he put it carefully in the bottom of his pack. He would keep it forever to remind him of Lothlorien, Middle-Earth, and all that he was leaving behind.
The next morning, before sunrise, he went to visit Lalmion, his friend, who was staying behind.
"You are leaving, then?" Lalmion asked, seeing Dunaire with his pack and traveling clothes, leading his horse, Muinanar.
"I am," Dunaire replied, "but I must leave Muinanar behind. Will you take him?"
"Of course. Namarie, then."
"Namarie."
And Dunaire walked off to Tanroth's house to meet the other travelers.

To start things off, no, I’ve not participated in an RPG on the Barrow-Downs as of yet, thus, I am in zero Games of late, save the Green Dragon Inn, which I have posted at repeatedly.
NAME: Solondil
AGE: 3,732, near ‘33
RACE: Lothlorien Elf
GENDER: Male
WEAPONS: Centuries as a border scout has sharpened his senses and roughened his palms – he was most and perhaps still is skilled with the bow, to the point that reaching back for a shaft had become an automatic reflex, but the loss of sight in one eye has since dulled his ability. Thus, he has reverted to using a more up-close and personal tool of combat, the sword.
APPEARANCE: Strong-boned and lank in figure, Solondil is of average height for the Elven race, though his fair tresses can usually be picked out above and among the crowd. Pallid skin covers features, still sharply angled in old age. His locks of silver-gold fall shorter than that of most of his kin, half tied back with a worn silken ribbon; a few uneven wisps falling from the fix at mid-cheek. His eyes are perhaps the first thing one notices while confronting this elf face to face, for they are of liquid-like sheen, ash in color, though the right is clouded over with a stormy mist; lifeless as a frozen pond. This is not only a fault in his once-keen eyesight, but a sour reminiscence that lingers in the deepest parts of his distracted mind. A nasty scar that was perhaps once a gash slices through a corner of the lid of that same eye, running downwards to stop at a high cheekbone.
PERSONALITY/STRENGTHS/WEAKNESSES: Solondil is one of few spoken words, though he is quite the intellectual; his mind nearly always bursting with thoughts. This is perhaps his greatest flaw, for his tendency to think too much and too hard has and will cause him to falter or choke in his decision-making, and during battle. At the same time, it is a virtue, for his layered pattern of thought often helps him to analyze a stranger or enemy, or to assess a situation or problem.
When first met he may seem cold or quite aloof, due to his poor conversation skills, but this image of person fades quickly as individuals realize the gentry and charm in his character. He is always willing, more or less prefers, to lend an ear, as he has a seemingly infinite supply of patience to try to exhaust. In turn, people come to him for a few words of wisdom, which he’s collected much of over the years, every now and again.
His greatest physical weakness is his shrouded eye. A grave encounter with a certain foe’s arrow carved a stripe into the orb itself and split the lid. The wound, long since healed, left him half blind and half as skilled with the bow. Even so, he has learned to cope, though the blackness he sees, or the images he doesn’t, is a constant reminder of dark memories past.
HISTORY: Born of the scholar Tholós of Lorien and his wife Celoënia, Solondil was one of their three children, the second-born and their only son. The younger sister, Orolindié, was taken by sickness at an early age, by the Elves’ reckoning, crippling the at last complete family sooner than expected. His elder sister, Aralomiel, was the one closest to his age. To her he looked to for wisdom and counsel. She passed centuries and centuries earlier, along with Celoënia. Mother and daughter had sailed west to meet Tholós, who had left long, long ago. The last of Tholós’ brood, Solondil spent long years in Rivendell, where things were not as isolated from the rest of Middle-Earth as was Lothlorien. He decided to return only after hearing his Lady’s, Galadriel’s call for tighter safekeeping at the borders.
Recruited as a sentinel in the train traveling back to Lorien, he headed the procession with a wary eye a top his steed, Aquel. A shrill cry of pain and the thump of something upon the hard ground caused his head to whip back, eyes wide as they rested upon the arrow-nestled corpse of one of the rear guards. News of the assault spread quickly throughout the train as the remainder of the watch, including Solondil, readied their bows at will. A few let fly in odd directions, the others waiting and watching to get a hold on enemy position, but before they could, a volley of black-feathered arrows descended upon the line like an ocean wave. Most of the falling points missed their targets, but a few on horseback were struck and fell. Returning that first volley with one of their own, the Elven company picked off quite a few of the dark creatures before the whole of the enemy force advanced, the front line drawing their steel, and the back sending more arrows.
Knocked off his mount by a rather heavy-set beast, and having spent the few arrows in his quiver, Solondil drew his short blade reluctantly and shifted into a defensive stance. The creature, more than ready to commence, froze abruptly, a wide grin showing his black teeth. Following his yellow eyes with his own grey ones, the elf turned his head ever slightly, and at that moment, an arrow shaft flew through the air to tear across his right eye. With a gasp he caught his breath, and his hands rose to unsuccessfully prevent blood from sputtering outwards. Through muffled ears, he heard the calming words of a comrade, and the clashing of steel on steel. The last thought he had was one of shame for being so careless, and the blackness took him.
He regained conciousness enveloped in the soft folds of a warm bed. Lothlorien. A good amount of the train members must have made it to the city alive, he thought to himself. He raised a hand to touch the white bandage about his head, nearly soaked through with a vibrant crimson where it covered the wound. He let out a drained sigh, closed his left eye and relaxed, accepting the fact that he’d not be able to see out of the right one in any amount of healing period. Time and a few herbs removed the bandages from his face, and with duel devotion and determination, he learned to use his bow with half his sight, though he reverted to using his sword when at all possible. In a year or so, he assumed the position of a border scout, as he had intended.
With more and more people leaving the city he stands to defend for the Havens to the west day by day, Solondil has ever heeded the small yearning in the back of his mind to depart along with, to see those love ones lost.

Elfwine's post
The Elf held the piece of parchment between two long and calloused fingers. A cream colored ribbon held both ends of the note fast, and veiled the contents. Staring with wide eyes, one filled with wonderment and the other misted over, as always, Solondil reached with the hand at his side to open the letter that’d been given to him. Reading through it quickly, then carefully once again, he swallowed hard and followed the backs of Tanroth and Firiel with a steady grey gaze as they disappeared into the white light. His arms dropped, note in hand, and he cast his eyes downwards. This was what he’d been waiting for. This was it—yet why was he so hesitant, so afraid, so dreading?
Letting out a wary sigh, he folded the piece of paper into a minuscule section of what it could expand to, and murmured a silent prayor. Nodding to the others honored, he placed the note in his breast pocket and turned on his heel, leaving the meeting hall with a furrowed brow. Where the wide path continued on to his quaint home in the glowing city, he took a hard left towards where the trees grew thicker; denser. Olive-hued cloak sitting comfortably a top his narrow shoulders, he left for a last walk among the mallorn.
Tomorrow at sunrise.

NAME: Erfalas
AGE: 3845
RACE: Lothlorien Elf
GENDER: Male
WEAPONS: Give Erfalas a strong bow and long arrows! Erfalas dislikes using the sword but can adapt in a pinch
APPEARANCE: Dark brown hair down to his shoulders, and stormy gray eyes. Erfalas is tall and straight with an easy, swinging stride. His expression is usually wistful but he can become very intense if properly goaded.
PERSONALITY/STRENGTHS/WEAKNESSES: Quiet, but humorous, Erfalas enjoys jokes. Erfalas is hesitant to disagree with friends. Erfalas likes poetry but cannot write it at all! Erfalas is the sort that like tales and songs of adventures but has never really had a desire for personal excitement.
HISTORY: Erfalas is youngest child of Vordion and Galwen of Lorien. He is not married, has never been married, and really does not want to be married. He has two sisters, Darwendel, and Wendel. After living all his life in Lorien there are those who would consider Erfalas’s existence to be boring do to his history or lack there of.

Erfalas stared at the slip of paper. His ticket to the Grey Havens, it was a little unsettling to be picked only because you were old. And yet… he was excited he had to admit. He sat still reading and rereading the paper.
Erfalas looked over his bare room. There was little he wanted to take with him. His dark, coarse cloth bag sat on his bed, almost nothing in its depths. He frowned, what did you bring on a mission? A loud knock on his door startled Erfalas out of his thoughtfulness.
“Erfalas, your going to the Gray Havens!” Gallion said excitedly. “Do you need any thing? Help? Food?”
“Food! That’s what I forgot!” Erfalas said loudly, clapping his friend on the back.
Gallion dragged Erfalas down the winding stair and into the large kitchens.
Later Gallion sat on Erfalas’s bed and ate an apple and Erfalas sat on near the window. “Are you takeing Gold Flame with you?”
“No… no horses, its in the letter, note, thing,” Erfalas dug in his pocket and handed it over to Gallion.
““We will leave tomorrow after sunrise. Please meet us by Tanroth's house. It's located on the outskirts of Lorien. From there we will go North-West. Take with you what you need, but not more. The journey will be difficult and perhaps dangerous.
Horses will not be needed, not now anyhow. We will travel by foot
~~ Tanroth and Firiel” That’s nice… and nice…” Gallion said slowly.
“My words exactly!” Erfalas smiled.
~ * ~
The next morning:
Erfalas stretched and yawned. Dreams were distracting and he didn’t want to sit up staring at the stars. Dressing quickly Erfalas picked up his bag. He slung his quiver over his shoulder and picked up his bow. His sword was in his pack. Stepping out of the arched doorway, he nearly ran down the stairs, he was more excited than he would admit. Gallion was waiting at the bottom of the stairs for him.
“I can’t let my best friend leave with out me to see him off,” Gallion said in answer to Erfalas’s questioning look. Gallion smiled and flipped his blond hair out of his face.
Erfalas smiled too and pushed his dark hair out of his stormy gray eyes. “Thank you Gallion,” Erfalas said adjusting his light grey cloak. “Well?”
“Anxious are we?” Gallion asked, laughing.
“Yes so lets go!” Erfalas said and he and Gallion walked down the path towards Tanroth’s home. The the friends set of across Lorien for the last time.

Have you ever played in an RPG at the Barrow Downs? YES - Which one? Cirith Ungol, Hunt for the Dragon, Holiday in the Sun (part of), Search for the lost messenger (cameo)
How many RPG’s on the Barrow Downs are you currently involved in? None
Have you posted in The Green Dragon Inn or in The White Horse in Rohan? YES Which one? Both
For your character please include:
NAME: Imthôlion
AGE: 3706
RACE: Lothlorien Elf
GENDER: Male
WEAPONS: Skilled with both sword and bow, Imthôlion uses both with deadly accuracy, though he prefers to use his sword.
APPEARANCE: Imthôlion is no different to any other Lothlorien elf. He has blonde hair, cut level with his shoulders, grey eyes and is of average height. Nothing about his appearance would draw your eye to him in a crowd, though Time itself has drained the colour from his face. His weariness has only just begun to affect his features, but if you look at his eyes you would see a great emptiness that only the Undying Lands could heal.
PERSONALITY/STRENGTHS/WEAKNESSES: Imthôlion’s personality is much like his appearance – it is no different to any other elf’s personality. He keeps mostly to himself, but is known by all save a few of the Lothlorien elves. If he is given a task, Imthôlion will not give up, unless it is obvious the task cannot be completed. He is kind and caring with a good sense of humour. Because of this, he will try to cheer up anyone who is looking sad, regardless of his own sadness. He will also do anything to help or protect a friend, not giving a single thought about how he will fare in it.
Imthôlion’s generosity would have to be said to be both his strength and weakness. While helping those with emotional or physical torment he will also give people his possessions if he thinks someone needs it (see History). He was once weak in the sense that he loved the mortal kind, but since the beginning of the War of the Ring, Imthôlion has lost his love for all mortals save the Hobbits.
Imthôlion loves nature and tends to any plant or animal that is ill. Because of his time spend tending to them, Imthôlion knows the various properties of plants and which can be used for healing, or for poison (though he never expects to use them for that).
HISTORY: Imthôlion is the youngest of three siblings, but is the only one left, for the other two sailed with their parents to the Undying Lands when he was 896 years old. He was too young to leave. Having been born and raised in Lothlorien, Imthôlion never left his home forest for the first thousand of so years of his life because he was content to stay in the fair place. However, during the next millennium he became restless and so travelled all over Middle Earth (I say all over, but he did not travel far to the south and the east) and he became familiar with the different races and cultures. But when evil began to stir when Bilbo found the ring of power, Imthôlion felt his place was in Lothlorien, and there he stays.
It was when he returned from his travels, that Imthôlion was seen to be overly generous. He once, while staying in Rohan, gave his cloak and sword to a poor man who he had helped heal. On receiving the sword, the man turned on Imthôlion and attacked him, but saw the error of his ways and jumped from a cliff. Imthôlion was not seen to be in the wrong, but always felt guilty and blamed himself for the man’s death. However, he helped many people in need while he toured Middle Earth and returned with only what he wore remaining in his possession. On his return, he was recruited as a one of the Lothlorien Guard.
Material objects have never been important to Imthôlion. There are only two things he cherishes: life and memories. Without his childhood memories, Imthôlion feels that age would have caught up with him sooner and caused him to leave for the Undying Lands many years ago. He does not regret his decision to stay in Middle Earth so long.
*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*
Elentari Greenleaf's post:
Imthôlion sat in the meeting, looking at the note he had been handed. A sigh escaped his slightly parted lips as the news sank in. His time had come – he would finally leave for the Undying Lands. Had he have been given the opportunity a few years ago he, as had Siralil, would have handed the note to another, for he had loved all mortal folk. Yet, since the beginning of the War, Imthôlion could only find love for one race of mortals – the gentle Hobbits. The ring was safely in the keeping of Frodo, a most trust worthy Hobbit, accompanied by the Fellowship of the Ring, a group of eight others well suited to protect the ring bearer. However, only eight of the nine now remained, for Gandalf ha fallen into shadow. Imthôlion had also heard that one of the Men, a man of Gondor, was becoming corrupted. Imthôlion’s love of men had failed. He saw them now as power hungry, and easily corrupted. They were weak.
So Imthôlion now had no wish to stay in Middle Earth. He had travelled around its fair lands, avoiding the darker ones, and so could find no reason to give up his place on the last ship from the havens. He rose and left the meeting room, for there was now no one to converse with. He kept the note held tightly in his hand, for if he lost it he feared he would not be given another.
The moon was high in the heavens, casting its silver light through the magnificent branches of the many trees in Lothlorien. Imthôlion decided he would walk for the last time both in and below the trees. It was a sad, yet happy time for Imthôlion. Dawn would see him leave the woods forever.

Character Description:
Name: Erkaliel
Age: 3589
Race: Lothlorien elf
Gender: Female
Weapons: Deadly skilled with both, daggers and bows. Though she knows how to handle a sword ,she rather use her bow.
Appearance: Erkaliel is a typical Lothlorien elf exept for her desire to adventure thru unknowned lands. She has long golden hair, cut to the middle of her back, and sad, though keen, grey eyes . Her skin is soft and pale although now she is starting to show a few signs of the countless years she had spent adventuring herself thru Middle-earth
Personality/Strengths/Weaknesses: Erkaliel is very closed to herself, she has long lost the ability to share her feelings though she’s not aware of that. That is maybe one of her greatest flaws. Due to that she rather work alone then in group, though that never kept her from helping anyone in need.
Her ability to communicate with others is not the best, she’s not much of a talker, but once she gets to know a person she will gladly have a nice talk with her. Although she has this certain inability to interact with others her ability to care for the nature, plants and animals a like, is astonishing.
Loyalty is obviously her greatest virtue, she would never abandon a friend nor a task that has been designated to her, in that point she could be rather stubborn.
History: Erkaliel was the only daughter of Lithiel and Celerion, she was born and raised in Lothlorien until she became 403 years old, when her parents where killed on an ambush. From that point on she was raised buy her aunt, for whom she cared very much. Her aunt left for the Undying Lands when she turned 2479 years old. Until then she had never left the elven woods of Lorien, suddenly she found herself very lonely and a need to wonder thru other lands took her.
She left the elven realm with two of her few friends to wonder and adventure thru distant lands, that was certainly the best time of her life. But unfortunately all good things must come to an end, and the day came when a great host left to the Undying Lands and with them went Amerwen one of the friends that accompanied her.
Erion, the other friend, stood with her in middle-earth and for a time they kept wondering. They eventually fell in love, and Erion promised never to leave her. For a brief time they where happy, though a sad day came when Erion was forced buy his father to leave with him to Undying Lands, he did not wish to go but he didn’t have the courage to face his father, so he left leaving broken-hearted Erkaliel behind.
From that point on she became a lonely person, and the one thing she came to give great valor was courage. She sadly returned to Lothlorien and, having no other place to wonder, she lived alone for the years to come until now.
--------------------------------------
Enif's post
It was a mid-summer eve when news came to Erkaliel that a meeting was going to be held that day , it would be organized by Tanroth under the order of the Lady Galadriel. She did not have a clue about the topic of the meeting but she imagined it would be something of great importance.
The meeting started and the Lady spoke of a company that would leave to the Undying Lands, a total of nine elves would be chosen to go. It was not an easy decision, nor was it an easy meeting. A note was given to everyone present though some of those who where there refused the offer right away. The meeting finally ended and Erkaliel went back to her house.
At night , lighted by the silvery moon Erkaliel sat by her bedroom window as the warm breeze came thru the window. She suddenly realized that almost all the kin of elves had left Middle-earth, and that now she had to give in, the time had come for her to leave for the Undying Lands. Nothing but war was left for her in Middle-earth, and she felt she did not had the spirit to fight it, though she new that the journey would also be tough .
She stayed there for a few minutes staring at the elven forest in the dark, she softly whispered to the wind ‘Good bye Lothlorien.’ She went to an uneasy though heavy sleep.

Please change the color of your Elf's eyes:
Tolkien is very specific on the color of Elves' eyes - they are various shades of grey, only. We will accept blue-grey, if you would like that.

Hey! Can I play Rostion?
--------------------
Character Description Form:
Have you ever played in an RPG at the Barrow Downs? NO
How many RPG?s on the Barrow Downs are you currently involved in? NONE
Have you posted in The Green Dragon Inn or in The White Horse in Rohan? YES, The Green Dragon
For your character please include:
NAME: Rostion
AGE: 4019
RACE: Lothlorien Elf
GENDER: Male
WEAPONS: Skillful with a bow, although prefers to carry a sword, forged by the his forefather, an Elven-smith of Eregion.
APPEARANCE: A tall elf, his golden hair flowing freely down his back. The years have dimmed his eyes, which used to sparkle in deep grey. A smile is rarely seen his face.
PERSONALITY/STRENGTHS/WEAKNESSES: A very woodcrafty Elf, whose skill and determination makes him an effective warrior. He still is in emotional trauma, after watching his younger brother die in the War of the Last Alliance. He is quiet and grave at all times, and only someone with patience and a kind heart can uncover all the thoughts and emotions in him.
HISTORY: His family came from the remnants of the Doriathrim that went to Eregion with the Noldor. He was born in Lorien. His father, a march warden, was killed in an ambush, and his mother, out of grief, went to the Havens shortly after. He was left with a younger brother, whom he dearly loved. Rostion taught him about the ways of the forest, and how to handle bows, and soon, his brother became as skilled as he was. When they went to Dagorlad under Amdir's banner, his brother was slain in a sortie. There, forgetting the war raging all around him, he bore his brother's body back to Lorien.

Nilpaurion Felagund's post
"Grey Havens," Rostion thought to himself. "Long should I have been there, to be with my family." He then snapped out of his reverie and looked for his sword.
"But, if not for Firiel, I would not be leaving. I would say behind and fight the foes of Lorien." He slung his bag on his shoulder, and sighed.
"Well, my time here has come to an end. I must go now; they might be already there."
He went outside his home, where Firiel stood, waiting for him. They walked in silence to the outskirts of Lorien, to the house of Tanroth.

Looks like the Game needs one more character - a female Elf, named Arilewen.
Here's Novnarwen's post where she is mentioned:

*bows* Thank you for accepting me! Oh, and I have to tell you now that my 'd' key doesn't work very well. I'm going to write all my posts in word first, but words like 'had' come out as 'ha' when the key doesn't work, so the spelling isn't picked up (and the grammer for some strange reason. Surely Word knows that 'I ha a gift' or something like that doesn't make sense.... oh well). So please doesn't kill me for obvious spelling mistakes ^_^' Unless they aren't d key related... then you may shout at me ^_-
I think this RPG looks like it's going to be excellent! Can't wait to get started. I'm surprized that the female roles haven't been filled yet. They're normally first to go!

Thank you for being so patient waiting for me to put up my post; I wasn't able to get on the computer until late tonight. So sorry.
Anyway, here it is:
Character Description Form:
Have you ever played in an RPG at the Barrow Downs? YES - Which one? Dark Seduction (cameo) Flight from Rohan
How many RPG’s on the Barrow Downs are you currently involved in?
Two and a half, Breelanders All! and Resettling the Lost Kingdom are just starting and The Fall of Greenwood the Great is about to end smilies/frown.gif (Pio said it was fine for me to join this one)
Have you posted in The Green Dragon Inn or in The White Horse in Rohan? YES Which one?
both
For your character please include:
NAME: Arilewen (that you knew already)
AGE: 3928
RACE: Elf
GENDER: Female
WEAPONS: None
APPEARANCE: Black hair slightly past her waist, creamy white skin, eyes are grey or blue-grey depending on mood (stormy grey when angry, silvery grey when happy, blue-grey when sad or worried) She always wears her hair half in a braided crown threaded with flowers, the rest loose. She is either dressed in midnight blue, emerald green, or black. Her clothing is relatively plain, cut simply without a lot of adornment. Her only jewelry a single silver broach set with a white stone and is never seen without it.
PERSONALITY/STRENGTHS/WEAKNESSES: She is quiet and self-effacing, preferring a place on the edge of the group to one in front of all eyes. If a large function is planned, chances are that she will be in the background, quietly and efficiently replenishing tables of food, delivering water to the singers, and just generally being helpful. But you will never see her on the dance floor, and never will she consent to sing in front of others. (she loves to do both, just not where anyone can see her.) She has a tendency to daydream and to get lost in her imaginings.
HISTORY: Arilewen was born in Doriath, but she didn't live there long enough to really remember it, mostly vague memories of music and dancing. She's lived in Lothlorien for the rest of her years spent in Middle-Earth. Her parents left for Valinor some years ago, not too long after Celebrian, daughter of Galadriel. She misses them and that is her main reason for wanting to go along.
The rumors of a romance between one of the border scouts and herself have nothing whatever to do with it. Honest. (hint, hint, Elfwine...)

“Arilewen, the place is then yours. I know you are older then the others left. Do you want it?”
Do I want it? Arilewen was slightly stunned that she out of all was chosen, but more than anything, she wanted to see Valinor. Weeping half out of joy that she could go, and half out of sorrow to leave the only home she had ever really known, she accepted the frail slip of paper from Tanroth. It seemed such a little thing to carry all her dreams on...
She barely noticed when the meeting ended. And as the other elves made their way out of the no longer crowded meeting, she collapsed against a tree and looked at the note in her hand. In firm script it told her to meet the others going on the journey on the outskirts of Lothlorien after sunrise. It didn't leave her much time to pack, but she sat staring at the note in her hand for a long time before she rose to go to her flet and pack.
Valinor! The Blessed Realm of the Lords of the West had beckoned to her in her dreams, ever since she was young. To speak with the Valar face to mighty face would be enough to fill all the ages of eternity with a wonder vast as the stars of Elbereth. Elbereth! Why, if Arilewen could get up the courage to once speak with Varda Elentari would be the height of rapture.

I'm a bit confused: are the all the parts filled, or is there a female part left?
I did read the discussion thread, but was slightly confused about the final number of female elves. It's been too long since I've played an elf...
Thanks!
Durelin- All the parts are filled indeed. The number of female elves were 2 + mine female elf. So, I'm afraid that we don't have any more spaces left. smilies/frown.gif But if we should need a secondary character in the middle of the RPG we will contact you. smilies/smile.gif Does that sound alright to you?

No more chatty posts, please! Let's all wait until the Game opens and you can discuss it here.
In the meantime - please read this:
_____________________________________________
Fellow Shire Gamers:
Please read before posting further on the Discussion Thread
Our gaming comes with a cost; it is time to reflect on this fact and make some changes to how we run our games.
We RPG’ers use the most Barrow Downs resources. We use a game thread, a discussion thread, PMs to plan games, and are constant visitors to the site, often returning more than two or three times a day to keep up with developments in the game in order to prepare our own posts.
Why is this a drain on BD resources? Please take some time to read carefully and reflect seriously upon the Barrow Wight's recent posts in the "Announcements >> The Barrow Downs" forum concerning storage space and bandwidth, chat and discussion, and the costs of running the site, and then change your posting habits. Click on: BANDWIDTH AND EXPENSES (http://forum.barrowdowns.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=14&t=001075)
What this means is that our Games, because we need to be so active in them, and because the Shire has so many going at once, cost the site much more money than other topics and forums on the Barrow Downs. In order for us to continue to have a good number of quality games for Shirelings to play in we need to make some changes:
What you, as participants in this game can do, personally:
What are the most beneficial changes in our posting habits? For one, we need to stop using the discussion threads for off-game-topic chatting, for personal comment. We need to restrict our posts to discussion of the games only, that is, to issues of plotting, character interaction, clarification, and notification of absences.
For most occasions, we don't need to make multiple posts about why we are absent or how we are doing and we don't need to make a string of 'see ya' posts in reply.
For personal comments, we can use the chat room or PM’s. (It’s ok to say a short ‘Nice post!’ or ‘Great post!’ if it is included with a post that has some other on-topic game information/requests on it.)
Please take the time to do several things:
Keep on topic for the Game.
Delete posts or run of the mill comments in the discussion thread that have no bearing on the game.
Refrain from such posts and comments in future discussions of the games.
Limit your daily visits to the thread.
*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*
READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. ALL GAMERS WILL BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR UNDERSTANDING THE FOLLOWING.
What we, as Shire Moderators, will be doing to insure these changes are being made:
We will be following the discussion threads more closely now. When we see an off topic post – we will give the poster a warning by PM and place a post on the Discussion Thread with the poster’s name on it and a request to remove that post.
Once the warning is given, all future off-topic posts by that poster will be deleted, and that poster runs the risk of being asked to leave the game by the Moderator if such behavior continues.
The Moderator also has the option to close the Game and Discussion thread if gamers cannot stay on topic in the Discussion Thread. It will then be up to the Owner and the players to sort out problems, by PM or email, and make an agreement to keep on topic. Owners may then contact the Moderator to reopen the Game.
*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*
If we all help out, we can ensure that our games remain treasures in the Barrow Downs.
Thanks for being responsible gamers and conscientious members of the Downs!

Thanks Pio for the reminder.
We'll use this thread only for planning. If we have all these chatty messages during planning, we'll likely oversee the important stuff. (I hope that made sense.) Anyway, I hope you understand what I mean.
Okay, over to some planning.
A couple of weeks ago, when planning this RPG, I asked Pio for a road. Lets all see what she found, shall we?
1.) Lorien over the Redhorn Pass (in the Misty Mountains – the Elves would call it them the Hithaeglir; they are right on the western border of Lorien) and turning a little south to where the Sirranon River comes out from beneath the mountains:
75 miles – this would be a difficult passage – snowy, stormy and all – possibly a few orcs. Good for a little battle and some Elven fortitude and skill with sword and bow This scene are we definitely going to have. I'll come back to this later. In the mean time you should prepare, practise your battle skills.. smilies/biggrin.gif
2.) Along the Sirannon River and a little south to Tharbad a little town where the Old North-South Road crosses the Greyflood River (the Gwathló River in Elven)
225 miles – Along the river just before it reaches the Greyflood is an abandoned Elven city – Ost-in-Edhel, the capitol of a great Elven Nation of the 2nd Age. It was destroyed by Sauron long, long ago, But it was where Celebrimbor and the Mirdain (the Elven Jewel smiths) forged the Great Rings of Power. If anyone has more information about Ost-in-Edhel, I suggest either that you post your info on this thread or PM it to me, so I can make a summary. In that way we'll all have some clues regarding the city's history etc. It's so much easier to describe stuff you know something about. smilies/biggrin.gif
3.) From Tharbad you can travel northwest along a road to Michel Delving, in the Shire. You will be in the Western part of the Shire, called the Westfarthing; Michel Delving is its main town. The same counts for Michel Delving; the information should be placed here or by PMing it to me.
140 miles
4.) At Michel Delving you can pick up The Great East Road and head west on it going all the way to The Tower Hill (Emyn Beraid in Elven); Here there were built great Elven Towers that looked to the sea. One of them held a palantir, The Stone of Elostirion, which Gandalf and the other Ring-bearers took back to the blessed lands, Aman, on the Ring-bearers White Ship.
FYI: Valinor is the central portion of the continent of Aman.
75 miles.
4.) From the Tower Hills to the Grey Havens and the Ships to Aman
50 miles
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
So your total, give or take a few miles is roughly 600 miles of travel
Walking clocks in at about 2.5mph (I’m thinking the untiring Elves could cover a good 25 miles per day)
I don’t think you could take horses over the Redhorn Pass. We will pick up horses in Tharbad!
At a gallop, quality horses can get about 7mph (Dunadain horses) – they can’t gallop for a long period of time.
I would give the Elves 1 1/2 to 2 months travel time.
Nice, huh? If it's a bit confusing, take a look at this Map (http://lotrmaps.middle-earth.us/maps/r3t_M66.jpg) (Yes, Pio gave me this too.. smilies/biggrin.gif)
Lets all thank Pio for this wonderful road, and the map of course! smilies/biggrin.gif
Everyone- We'll take this step by step. But we won't take day by day, if you know what I mean. Anyway, I hope you've read the road description a couple of times, so that you know where you are going. It doesn't matter if you don't know it by heart. Don't worry, Tanroth will lead you.. I think.. smilies/biggrin.gif
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask! (Pm or on the thread)
And, would you guys mind if I take the first post tomorrow? I would like to write a post, where the elves are gathered before the leave Lothlórien.
Thanks!
The overexcited lunatic,

Everyone-
Okay, here are some suggestions over what you can write in your posts.
- Look at your character's porfile and personality and compare them with the other character's personalities. Which character would your character likely find same interests etc. with? Who would he/she likely talk to?
- Try to explain your character's feeling towards the journey. Do he/she thinks it might be dangerous to travel when Sauron's forces are gathering?
- Does your character have any doubts?
- Does your character feel up for the journey and the road they are facing?
- Has your character any objections towards the road. If so, whom will he/she tell this to? Tanroth, or anyone else?
(Remember, these are only suggestions...)
Not much, but, that's basically all I can do. smilies/biggrin.gif
Lets get this rolling, shall we?

All players:
The Barrow Downs was hard to access day before yesterday – but the problem has now been fixed. So let’s get the game back on track.
Novnarwen has brought the group to their first camp, which should be on the edge of the forest of Lorien, up against the mountains. Go ahead now and place your making-camp posts directly on the Game.
Wait then for Novnarwen and/or Orofaniel to move the group onwards to the path that climbs up to the pass over the mountains from east to west.
Then, the next game day will find your group heading up into the mountains toward the Red Horn Pass, Caradhras will be to the south of you. You are walking along the course of the Silverlode River, and will come to the Mirrormere, where the entrance to Khazad-dûm is, the way that the Fellowship passed through from the east moving westward.
Just beyond the Mirrormere is a steep winding path, sometimes crumbling away, that goes up to the Redhorn Gate (Pass). It is called the Dimrill Stair, as it passes up from the Mirrormere in “an endless stair of short (water) falls” (FotR).
Gandalf mentions that it would take the Fellowship more than two marches to reach the top of the Pass. The way will be snowy, the pass is quite high, and there may be creatures lurking about . . .

Everyone
This is how we are going to do the climbing:
1.) Lorien over the Redhorn Pass (in the Misty Mountains – the Elves would call it them the Hithaeglir; they are right on the western border of Lorien) and turning a little south to where the Sirranon River comes out from beneath the mountains:
75 miles – this would be a difficult passage – snowy, stormy and all – possibly a few orcs. Good for a little battle and some Elven fortitude and skill with sword and bow. This scene is we definitely going to have. I'll come back to this later. In the mean time you should prepare, practise your battle skills.
Okay, the elves have already walked for about 30 miles,
(I’m thinking the untiring Elves could cover a good 25 miles per day)
(They have walked one day, and camped. I, Oro and Jack have already posted after the camp, which means they have walked about 30 miles...Yes, now I am repeating myself...)
Okay, anyway. The next move:
We will start the mountain climbing, and it's still foggy and difficult to see.
Elennar- We have equal minds. smilies/biggrin.gif I and Oro were thinking the same. And your character is welcome to be 'lost'. Though, we need two or three characters to get lost as well.
This is what is going to happen:
At the first nightfall, (game time) in the mountains, we will be attacked by a couple of orcs. (Your character is welcome to have odd feelings about this, or in advance even be suspicious. A little disagreement or something like that would be cool too.) If you decide that your character shall be suspicious, then you should speak to Tanroth or Firiel about this. You can also go behind their backs, and talk to the others. Anyway, what we want to have is a little confrontation, where some of you have just a tiny sharp tune about whether you think they should continue or rest, because of the fog.
However, Tanroth will push on and tell them to get going. By nightfall, (game time) they will be half over the mountains anyway, that's the main reason he pushes on. When the dark is growing, and Tanroth (perhaps Firiel and/or Rostion) decide to camp for the night, they will be attacked from two directions.
In the confusion, the group will split in two groups:
Group number 1)
Elennar, (since you have already volunteered) and two-three others. (I was hoping only two would follow Dunaire, but if you really want to, then be my guest. The reason I want more on Tanroth's group is that having 2 at his 'side' and four ‘against’ him, would be a bit too much.
And, one in this group should be injured, not badly, juts enough to get the group slowed down. (Relax, the injury will pass, without any real drama...A little cut here or there, would be fine.)
Group number 2)
Tanroth, (Firiel and Rostion?) (I hope it's okay for you two, to follow Tanroth in the fighting scene. I was thinking this, especially since Firiel is 'buddying' Tanroth on this quest. It's kind of natural to have Rostion following his wife, or the other way around.
Okay, in the fog (as I've already said) they will be separated. They will spend the night (game time) as two groups: a few posts with a parallel story, where the one of the groups will find their way to their ruined camp. The other group, will eventually make it down from the mountain. Here they will meet. Anyway, the result of this incident will be that the group is about one day behind Tanroth’s planned schedule. This will worry him, as it is already. He grows even more afraid of the ship leaving, without them reaching it. Therefore Tanroth will press hard, when we carry along the story.
Please 'sign up' for the group you want to join at the discussion thread, as soon as possible. This, particulary is importnat sine we will have this little disagreement... smilies/biggrin.gif I also need one person in group number 1 to get just a tiny injured!! 'Sign up' for that too.
Nilpaurion-Please, let me know if you feel comfortable about joining Tanroth's group.
Elennar Please, let me know if you still want to be in the 'lost ones' group. (Erm.. both of the groups are kind of lost. Anyway, you know what I mean..)
And, whether Tanroth's or Elennar's (?) group will make it down the mountain, we'll have to see about that.
I think that was all for now. If anyone has any questions about anything, don't hesitate to ask. I know, that perhaps I was a bit vague here. *points upwards*

PS! Characters which are confirmed, in the different groups, are marked in bold.
Suggestion for group number one (Oro must approve..):
Dunaire - Elennar Starfire
Erfalas - Jack
Arilewen - Tinuviel of Denton
Imthôlion -ElentariGreenleaf, (You'll have to heal the poor Erfalas who is getting injured, then.. smilies/biggrin.gif)
Suggestion for group number two:
Tanroth - Novnarwen
Rostion - Nilpaurion Felagund
Firiel - Orofaniel
Solondil - Elfwine
Erkaliel -Enif (We must take her chracter along. I believe she has some kind of computer problems.

Anyway, I have posted. The post is 'under construction' though. Until it's finished, I must ask you to think about your chracater, and if he/she likely would have any objections to the camp situation in the Mountains. Will your character agree with Tanroth and Firiel, or disagree?
It's up to you.
I suggest though that two persons in group 1. will have objections to this. But don't be to harsh, and make sure it fits too your character description. smilies/biggrin.gif

Nova- The groups sounds great! Thanks for putting them up.
I've also put up a 'save' for Firiel, where she will support Tanroth. We would likely have some 'talk-behind-back' scenes if you know what I mean. But that would of course be group number 1.
So please members of group 1; Write a post where your character is a bit suspicious and stuff. And 'behind-back-talking' of course!

Okay, is anyone interested in taking us up and well up into the Mountain?
And, if we want a confrontation, we'll need it before nightfall (game time). Let's say.. erm.. On the road, or.. when they start the mountain climbing. But it's really up to you guys in group 1. The reason we need the confrontation before nigtfall, is that we are going to be attacked by orcs when the dark is growing..This is going to happen when the elves have their first and only camp, in the mountains.
Anyway, let's get a confrontation first, before nighfall. smilies/biggrin.gif Group number 1: You're welcome to be *rude* smilies/evil.gif Make sure there are some limits, though... smilies/evil.gif

Groups number 1)
And, one in this group should be injured, not badly, juts enough to get the group slowed down. (Relax, the injury will pass, without any real drama...A little cut here or there, would be fine.)
Okay, I've written as small list over possible injuries....
Jack- Hopefully you'll get some ideas... smilies/biggrin.gif
~*~
Possible Injuries list:
- Your character could trip of from a clip/stone (or whatever, it's up to your creativity.) The injuries from these kinds of incidents would probably be; cuts, broken rib(s) (?), you could pass out etc.
- Your character could get stuck in the snow. (This isn't a “rea”' injury, but it will cause delay.. smilies/evil.gif )
- Your character can twist your ankle....And he/she will probably “demand” a break, which will cause delay... smilies/rolleyes.gif
- Your character could tremble in the snow, this would cause delay (now I'm repeating myself smilies/wink.gif), and she/he would probably get a scratch or two? Maybe he/she is not found right away?
~*~
Hm...I hope that you all can find something that would be suiteble for your character. I'm not saying you have to use one of these, they are only proposals.... smilies/biggrin.gif
You are more than welcome to use your creativity and find your own injuries.. smilies/biggrin.gif
mmm... I think the twisted ankle is good, I'm not sure about "demanding" but I'll work on it. smilies/biggrin.gif
O and thank for the suggestions Oro! smilies/smile.gif

Okay. We must get this moving, and in perhaps a faster pace.
I'll set up this list, a rquested posting list. And I truly hope, we'll manage to have these posts up by Saturday. Or well, Sunday morning. smilies/biggrin.gif
Post #1, dedicated to Tinuviel of Denton: Please take us up and well up into the mountains. We'll be ready to make a camp then. (We have walked for about 6 hours from the River by then..) Note: It's still foggy and difficult to see!
Post #2, dedicated to Elfwine: You are to continue where Tinuviel leaves off. Which will mean that you write about the group setting up a camp, preparing food and making a fire, which porbably isn't a very good idea.. smilies/biggrin.gif You might want to bring up a discussion while they eat. This could be about what they will do next. (That's just a thought. Please, feel free to discuss anything you would like, or your character what he would like.)
Post #3, dedicated to Novnarwen: Tanroth volunteers to stand guard in the first period, while the others sleep. Asks Erfalas if he wants to stand guard with him, as well.
Post #4, dedicated to Jack: Erfalas agrees to stand guard with Tanroth. (They might want to discuss the camp matter, which they earlier disagreed about. However, they could clear up things.. smilies/biggrin.gif The point is really, to get them a bit distracted, so they won't notice the ugly orcs sneaking up on them.) They are shot at by arrows. No one are wounded though, the orcs miss by an inch. Erfalas announces/screams that the group is under attack.
Post #5, dedicated to ElennarStarfire: Dunaire wakes up by the scream of Erfalas. She knows they are under attack. I would like for you to describe the orcs, coming from two directons; west and east. Also, remember, this isn't a mass attack. Note: There wouldn't more than 20-30 orcs.
Post #6, dedicated to Nilpaurion Felagund: Rostion wakes Firiel and they, together spring over to Tanroth's side to fight there. Describe how the group is divided into two, where group 1. (Dunaire, Erfalas, Arilewen and Imthôlion) goes to fight the orcs, coming from the eastern direction, and where group 2, (Tanroth, Rostion, Firiel, Solondil and Erkaliel.) faces the orcs coming from the western side.
Post #7, dedicated to Orofaniel: Firiel follows Rostion. Defends herself. Describing how suddenly she cannot see group 1. (Dunaire, Erfalas, Arilewen and Imthôlion).
Post #8, dedicated Elentari Greenleaf: Description of how group 1 manages to fight the orcs on the eastern side.
Post #9, dedicated to Jack: Erfalas is injured. (You must decide yourself how.)
Post #10, dedicated to ElentariGreenleaf: It's up to you to heal Erfalas, and take the group back to the camp. (This group was really lucky, not running too far away from their camp... smilies/evil.gif)
Post #11, dedicated to Novnarwen: The last orc is slain at the western side. Group two is confused by how the group got divided. Tanroth come with the proposal of trying to get down from the mountains before sunrise. Everyone agrees.
NOTE: This list, by all means, doesn't stop you from postin in between. The persons listed are just the ones going to carry the story. And, I won't set up any saves. It's up to us, to co-ordinate, and follow this list. When you see it's your turn to carry along the story, than please do so. I don't think this is too much to ask.
The Shire policies say that we're supposed to post at least, 2 posts a week! Anyway, if you have any objections wit the list or etc. please tell me. If you're not able to post, then set a note up on the discussion thread.
I haven't included Enif, because she has some kind of computer problems and cannot access BD. Don't forget to bring her along, though. I'll send her a PM, anyway.
If you have any questions regarding this requested posting list, you can either PM me or post here.
Tinuviel, I hope you'll post as soon as possible. Elfwine is going away for the weekend (Right), so it would be great if both og you had indeed posted before then!
Thanks,
Nova

Okay. Your post should be up as post 8, which means that you can wait a little longer. Orofaniel, I believe has PMed everyone, about the posting.
General-If you don't have the time to post now, you should set up a save. But do it in the right order. If the person before you haven't posted anything, then wait.
If it takes too long, and one person doesn't post, I'll make a save, and that person will have to fill it later.
Elentari- I suggest you wait a bit. You could start planning your post though, since you know a bit about what's going to happen..

If you seemed grumpy, I am going to seem way more grumpier now.
Since Wednesday no one has posted! Jack, Enif and partly Elfwine are excused.
However, I don't see a reason for you others' absence. Have none of you checked the game thread nor the discussion thread the last couple of days? Have so few of you checked your PMs?
And if you know that you can't post, why don't you leave a note earlier; before you leave? It doesn't really help when you come after you have been away.
Now that was being grumpy. Anyway, I really hope to see the posts listed anove (this thread) by the 5th of November, Wednesday. Make us a favor, don't make us use hours of planning, when no one intends to post.

I thought I would be able to put my post up yesterday, but I had to care for my sister all morning and then I was away all afternoon.
Now that I've groveled, here's my post that I didn't even get a chance to know I was supposed to write until Friday.

The elves walked for several more hours, surrounded by the white dimness of fog. Arilewen kept hearing odd noises, though she was sure that they were merely products of overactive imagination. The conversation earlier stayed in her mind, and the implication that there might be orcs roaming across their path frightened her. She was no warrior, to slay the foul things, though if pressed she would certainly try.
A cawing to her left startled her. She jumped, then scolded herself for being so timid. This fog was making everyone edgy it seemed. Nervous laughter filled the silence after the birdcall, Arilewen's not least. She still felt slightly embarrassed about singing in front of the group; compliments made her uncomfortable.
Solondil (she thought it was Solondil, anyway. The fog made features difficult to determine.) smiled over at her, explaining that it was only a bird, a crow or raven, most likely. She nodded and carefully studied the ground she was walking over, ostesibly to keep from stumbling.
****
Her feet hurt by the time Tanroth signaled for the group to halt. Arilewen was unaccustomed to walking so far. At home, she had only criss-crossed the forest, though to some, that was far enough. She sat down, noting that the fog seemed to have thinned a bit, enough that she could see the others clearly. A few also sat on rocks, rubbing their equally tender feet while the rest busied themselves with the tasks necessary for setting up a camp.

Soooo sorry it took me so long, my schedule has been hectic! I have had no time! Well, here is my post.

"We are under attack! We are under attack!"
Erfalas' cry woke Dunaire from a dreamless sleep, and he sat up, startled, ducked as an arrow whizzed over his head, and grabbed for his sword. Springing to his feet, he rushed to the east, the direction the cry had come from, though he heard the sound of battle coming also from the west.
Through the fog he could barely see where he was going, snd several times almost ran into a tree, an orc, or one of his companions. There weren't all that many orcs, only about ten on this side, and probably not many more on the western side, but the fog made it difficult to tell who was a friend and who was an enemy. Once, Dunaire mistook Imthôlion for an orc, and only just in time realized who it really was. They then stayed close, and eventually Arilewen and Erfalas joined them.
"Have you seen any of the others?" Imthôlion asked as they arrived.
Both shook their heads no.
"Tanroth went to the western side, perhaps the others are with him," Erfalas said.
Let us hope so.

As am I, as am I - terribly, terribly sorry about the delay in my post, and my lack of knowledge on the plot. I will try to get on as much as possible, though there is always the risk that my computer might...blow up...again.
***
Though his words to Arilewen were calm, spoken in his hushed, low voice, he could not help acknowledging the shadowy fear creeping forth from the back of his mind and the depths of his heart. With a series of nods and gestures, and a few suppressed whispers, he had the others silently preparing another camp. He himself stooped below every now and then to gather kindling, though he was rather hesitant about the fire all his companions wished for.
The silence that overcame the travelors was an eerie one, that not even Solondil could stand, but with one look at each wary face through the mist held back the words rolling upon his tongue. Now was a time for rest, and he hoped, with all his heart, that they'd find it.

Okay.. Here is the basic storyline for the continuing days...
Group 1
Dunaire - Elennar Starfire
Erfalas - Jack (Currently played by Novnarwen.)
Arilewen - Tinuviel of Denton
Imthôlion -ElentariGreenleaf,
This group must get back to the camp. They will find that the is camp just how it was when they were attacked. Nothing is missing. The members in the groups draws the conclusion that the others have either perished, lost their way, or tried to get down from the mountains. They will look around, (no more thick fog.. smilies/wink.gif) and they will find traces. Group one decides to follow them, they discover that there are four pairs, blah blah.. Just improvise..
Group number two:
Tanroth - Novnarwen
Rostion - Nilpaurion Felagund
Firiel - Orofaniel
Solondil - Elfwine
Erkaliel - Piosenniel
Tanroth & co comes down from the mountains. They decide to take a rest until sunrise. (They have walked down from the mountains in night..)
That's basically it for now.. More will come up soon, very soon. We are already a bit behind schedule, so we don't mind if not everyone posts. Those who do posts, must carry the story line, such as written above. To make this run smoothly, we would need posters from both groups.
Those who don't post now, should definitely post later on.. (We'll post new instructions on this thread very soon, so please post as soon as possible.)
Nilpaurion- We'll be expecting your post then! smilies/biggrin.gif
And, it's really up to each of you to get this to work. Now let's get this rolling.
Any questions?
Thanks,

Here's my post now...Thanks for your patience...
"We are under attack! We are under attack!" The cry broke the silence of the camp. Erfalas was seen running back towards the camp, where he chanced upon Rostion, who was dozing uneasily. He woke the Elf up, and rushed on to the others. Rostion immediately heard familiar cries. Orcs! he thought, and went on over to Firiel.
Now this was the manner of their camp. The ground is heavily covered with trees and tall shrubs, except for two paths; one leading East to Lorien, where Erfalas was heading for; and the other winding Northwest to Dimrill Dale, where Tanroth was holding off the Orcs. Rostion rushed to Firiel, and attempted to wake her up.
"Wake up, Firiel. You have to wake up."

Nice post Nilpaurion!
Okay, I have made a save, which I will fill in very soon. I will do it as a wrap up mountain scene for both groups, since both Tanroth and Erfalas are currently under my 'control..' smilies/evil.gif

Nice post Nilpaurion smilies/biggrin.gif
I've now filled my 'save'. That post describes when group no1 decides to go down from the mountains instead of looking for the others. smilies/evil.gif
Then I wrote one more post, after Nova's about Erfalas. That's just a continuing-story-thingy after the mountain climbing.
Group 2
One or more of you should do a post when they find the camp untouched, and what they decide to do. (Which is obvious.) And maybe you should write a night-scene where you just go to bed and decide what to do the following morning.(Which also is obvious.)
So No2. Start posting, because group No1. is now going to bed.... smilies/biggrin.gif
And, just post the posts here on the dicussion thread, and Nova will paste it for you into Nova's save about Erfalas. She has already written about when group No.2 starts going down the mountain.
EDIT: Nova, you'll do the wrap up scene after my last post for Firiel, right?

Bringing this forward:
1.) Lorien over the Redhorn Pass (in the Misty Mountains – the Elves would call it them the Hithaeglir; they are right on the western border of Lorien) and turning a little south to where the Sirranon River comes out from beneath the mountains.
~*~ DONE ~*~
_____________________________________________
_____________________________________________
3.) From Tharbad you can travel northwest along a road to Michel Delving, in the Shire. You will be in the Western part of the Shire, called the Westfarthing; Michel Delving is its main town. The same counts for Michel Delving; the information should be placed here or by PMing it to me.
140 miles
_____________________________________________
4.) At Michel Delving you can pick up The Great East Road and head west on it going all the way to The Tower Hill (Emyn Beraid in Elven); Here there were built great Elven Towers that looked to the sea. One of them held a palantir, The Stone of Elostirion, which Gandalf and the other Ring-bearers took back to the blessed lands, Aman, on the Ring-bearers White Ship.
FYI: Valinor is the central portion of the continent of Aman.
75 miles.
5.) From the Tower Hills to the Grey Havens and the Ships to Aman
50 miles
_____________________________________________
So your total, give or take a few miles is roughly 600 miles of travel
Walking clocks in at about 2.5mph (I’m thinking the untiring Elves could cover a good 25 miles per day)
I don’t think you could take horses over the Redhorn Pass. We will pick up horses in Tharbad!
At a gallop, quality horses can get about 7mph (Dunadain horses) – they can’t gallop for a long period of time.
I would give the Elves 1 1/2 to 2 months travel time.

Nova and Jack
I've taken us up to the edge of the marshes just past Ost-in-Edhil. It is a place the Elves called Nîn-in-Eilph (Swanfleet), where there were once great flocks of swans who lived there.
If the group looks back east they would see the Hithaeglir, the Misty Mountains that we crossed from Lorien.
NIN-IN-EILPH (http://www.glyphweb.com/arda/n/ninineilph.html)
Erkaliel has pointed out two swans to Tanroth and Erfalas.
From the marshes we should turn southwest - we will come to Tharbad (mostly deserted now - but I'm sure there are still Men living about the area who would sell us horses), where the Old North-South Road crosses the River Mitheithel and leads up into the western part of the Shire.

Storyline for the next days:
Nova- You'll take us to an old Inn. We'll eat there and be "merry".
Everyone should post a small Inn post here.
Next morning- We'll pick up horses at an old stable nearby the Inn. The stable is owned by an old man, who still lives in Tharbad. There has been an agreement between Galadriel and the man that Tanroth would pick up horses here.
Everyone, pelase be ready for a big surprise.......
Meanwhile you can post about this: characters at the Inn, eating, sleeping, talking. Whatever you see fit.

I don't think we have an "opportunity" to kill him off right now. So, I think we should just drag him along as we go, which means that we don't need one person only, to play his character.

Jack's character:- Everyone must remember to bring Erfalas along. Neither me or Oro can find a place in the RPG, where it's suitable to kill him off....
Everyone- In my last post, I have written that Firiel, Rostion and Imthôlion, leave the Inn to go and get the horses. This means that Erfalas, Erkaliel, Dunaire, Arilewen and Solondil are still at the Inn, waiting for the others and 'collecting' (hehe) food for the journey ahead.
Oro- will set up a post about the confusion in the stable. Elentari and Nilpaurion, are also welcome to set up a post here.
The others: should post about packing up, preparing to leave. You may also describe how 'wonderful' it will be now, when they have horses. In that way, the disappointement, when Tanroth & co comes back will be greater! (Since they've only got 7 horses and the company has nine members!)
Everyone- I would like to see some posts up by Monday. If not, I can save spots. Anyways, by Monday we must get moving! We have loads to do and little time!
Also, prepare for two new characters coming up! smilies/biggrin.gif
Any questions?

Everyone- I have set up a save, and I hope some of you are willing to fill it. Even though there is only one, it doesn't mean that only one can fill it. Just put the post up on this thread, and I will put them up on the game thread afterwards. We would really like to see some posts, coming up these days!
My latest post is still under construction, and it will be filled as soon as Oro and hopefully some of you has filled the save, and I'll make the last part a wrap up scene.
By the way who is willing to sit two on one horse???
Rostion and Firiel are going to sit on one horse, but we need two others as well!
Questions?

"But it says..." Tanroth said in a tin voice to the man. Firiel nodded. "Yes, it says that we should have nine horses, sinces we are a company of nine elves." Firiel explained to the man.
"Yes, but you've already picked up two of 'em." The man replied, now seeming a bit grumpy about the whole case. They weren't going to fool him, what did they think? That he was stupid? Oh, no. There had already been two elves picking up two horses.
"What?" Firiel and Tanroth said at the same time, both seeming very surprised over what Garton said. "Two people picked up horses earlier!" Garton said irritated.
"Earlier? When?" Firiel asked again. "I don't know exactly when it was. It was probably 2-3 days ago. It was very dark that evening so I didn't see the two persons properly. They just said that they had "ordered" horses, and I gave them to 'em." Garton said now turning away from the elves. He seemed even more irritated.
"What are we going to do now?" Firiel sighed. She looked at Tanroth then at Rostion. Rostion and Imthôlinon hadn't said much yet; they seemed to be in deep thought.
"Let’s get back to the Inn, tell the others about the situation, and then return to pick up the horses." Imthôlion said.
"No, I think we should just take the horses that are left and then go to back to the Inn. WE cannot afford to loose more horses than we already have. There might be someone "stealing" them as wel, if we leave them behind. I do think that seven horses are better than nothing...." Rostion said. Firil nodded, and expressed that she agreed with her husband.
"Okay, then. We'll do as Rostion suggestion. Seven horses are indeed, better than none at all. We will certainly be a bit delayed though...."Tanroth said and gave a short sigh. "Let us not waste anymore time here. Let us go back to the Inn." Tanroth added.
Garton gave them the horses that were left. He still seemed grumpy and irritated, even though Firiel didn't really have a reason too. It was them that had lost two precious horses. It meant even more delay....She was doubt that they would even reach the Grey Haven before the ship left.
"Who took our horses?" Firiel asked suddenly. The three men that were walking beside her looked at her with great eyes. Tanroth gave a short laugh. "I really haven't thought about that until now, when you mentioned it, Firiel." Tanroth said.
"Maybe some Rangers that have been in town or a coupe of nights....." Imthôlion said, knowing that the possibility of that was small. "Well, we can't exclude anything.." Imthôlion added when Tanroth looked at him. Imthôlion then shrugged, and asked if the others had any theories.
Tanroth didn't say anything for a long time; he seemed troubled though, and upset because of the two missing horses.

75 miles – this would be a difficult passage – snowy, stormy and all – possibly a few orcs. Good for a little battle and some Elven fortitude and skill with sword and bow This scene are we definitely going to have. I'll come back to this later. New characters!
Here are the character profiles:
Father:
Name: Siralil
Age: Some years older than Tanroth.
Gender: Male
Appearance:Sirlail has blonde hair, and grey eyes. His shoulders are wide and he has strong body. He is quite tall and his skin is fair.
Weapons: Sirlil feels most comfortable with his sword that he got from his older brother. It is always with him, and he is a good warrior, when he needs too. He can also handle bows well, and the arrow usually hits the target.
Personality/Weaknesses/strengths: Siralil has a great temper. But he doesn't "use" it when it's not necessary. Siralil is an elf that has much respect from other elves, but sometimes Sirialil can be a bit unpredictable. He can surprise you when you least expect it. (This is often negative, at least when it comes to Siralil). Some would even say that he is untrustworthy, and un-loyal.
Son:
Name: Sitinion
Age: About 1000 years younger than his father. (This means, he has no right to sail with the ship to Valinor.)
Gender: Male
Weapons: As his father, Sitionion is attached to his sword. But he can use bows as well.
Appearance: Sitinion reminds very much about his father, when it comes to looks. He has blonde hair, fair skin, grey eyes, and he is very tall.
Personality/Weaknesses/Strengths: Sitionion is very different from his father when it come to personality. Sitinion is quiet naive, but he is very kind hearted. He is also "blind" when it comes to his father’s actions and hidden intentions; everyone can see it, but not Sitinion.

Okay..
I am really sorry for not postinf in a while. The last two days I have had problems connecting to the Internet. But I know that is no excuse... I am very sorry.
Back to business:
We have about one week left of this RPG (Real life). So, in the post I just posted I have taking us to Michel Delving.
For more info: Annals of Arda/Michel Delving (http://www.annalsofarda.dk/annals-of-arda/Places-index/Places.htm) and Encyclopedia (http://www.glyphweb.com/arda/default.htm)
The nexts posts: Take the company to an Inn, or camp in the outskirts of Michel Delving!
Hope this helps.
I've also put up a save. If anyone is interested, PM me or post your post here. I'll paste it up for you. (Look at the post above (This thread) for further info about what you can post about)
That would be all for now.
Thanks,
Nova

Hey!
My save is filled. tanroth knows that the riders are two elves, and that ione of them is Siralil.
None of the company's members are to know.
But, I will use Arilewen (since Tinuviel is no longer with us). Arilewen have been eavesdropping and knows everything about the hafling and what he said. (See my last post, page 3.)
Everyone is welcome to post. If you want to have a post in between the posts, please contact that poster so she/he can put it up for you!
Thanks
Nova
PS! I will take us away from Michel Delving soon, if no one else does.
EDIT: The save I made on December 14 (2003 01:13 PM) is 'half-fileld' I have set in a post for Siralil and Sitinion. This doesn't mean any of you can't post. Just PM me with your post or post it here, if you want!

Sitinion and his father, Siralil.
Four days had gone by, and the two elves were still on their road to the Heavens. Sirilil thought about how many miles that still remained and he figured that if they were lucky, they could be at the Grey Havens this very evening. Sirlil smiled to himself, he was pleased. No one could now take his and his son's places in the ship. Not even if Tanroth and the Company were alive they wouldn't passably reach it.
"We'll probably reach the heavens tonight, son." Siralil said as they road. "What..?" Sitinion asked as he couldn't quite hear the words that had slipped his father's mouth.
"I said, if we're lucky we may reach the Heavens tonigh." Siralil said again and smiled even wider.
"Oh.." Sitinion mumbled. After the past few days this was all he had been thinking about; he had been thinking about how unfair it was for Tanroth and his Company when himself and his father took their places in the ship. He could see the disappointed face of Tanroth in his mind, and it seemed so real. The picture of Tanroth was tearing him apart from the inside. It was like two strong forces wanted a piece of him; he couldn't turn down his father, because he loved him. And Siralil had always wished them best form his son. At the same time he knew that they were doing something wrong, because Sitinion was certainly not old enough for the ship yet. Every single member of the Company was older than him, or he thought so. Even though he didn’t knew for certain, he knew that he didn't deserve nor had no right for a place in the ship.
If he did, then Tanroth and the Lady would have said so. Sitinion was starting to think that, maybe his father only wanted him with him because he was afraid to be alone. Siralil didn't exactly know what was waiting for him if he went to Valinor, and he could always "count" on his son. Or could he?
***
As the two elves rode the sun slowly went down and disappeared into the west. The wind blew as a swift leaf fall down from the tree in the autumn.
"I guess there are only a few miles left." Siralil said after a short break. They tried to hide all traces as they left the camp. "We should manage to reach The Heavens within the hour, if we ride with great speed." Siralil said. Sitinion nodded.
"Let’s ride then." Sirlil said impatiently when he saw that his son didn't show any sign of getting up on his horse ready to ride.
********************
Okay people, we've only got 4 days left.
If someone would get us to the Heavens after the last 'save' for Sitinion and Siralil. Would someone do that within tomorrow?
If not, will you Nova do it? (If not, I'll do it) smilies/biggrin.gif

Great! smilies/biggrin.gif

Both would work. However, I wish that most of our players write about their reaction towards the fact that there are already two elves there. Tanroth already knows this, so it wouldn't be too much for a surprise for him. But I can make a post also, when they have reached the Havens and the confusion!
Just a little note:
Oro has a save before yours, Pio. This will be about when Siralil and Sitinion arrive the Havens. They are one day too 'early' and make it for the Swan Inn to stay the night there. Tanroth & Co arrives one and a half days later (in the morning, game time) when the ship is about to leave. (Tanroth & Co will just have time to have a REAL argument with the two 'sinners' before the ship will leave.)
Everyone- If you are interested in Saves, just slip a note here!! Also, if you really want to have a last say before the game closes, it must be by Monday 22nd!
Thanks!

Siralil and Sitinion had had a good night sleep indeed, but they had no idea of what was waiting them down in the common room....
***
The two elves went down the stairways and found their way into the common room there they had been the day before. Gifor the elf that they had met was nowhere to be seen. Sitinion sighed as they seated to order breakfast. "What is it son?" Siralil asked him seeming annoyed over that his son sighed.
"Nothing father." Sitinion answered and sighed again. "It's just....we're leaving Middle-Earth today father, and I'm having second thoughts." Sitinion continued. He, himself was stunned that he had said such a thing to his own father. How could he? After all that Siralil had done for him? His father had been so kind that he had brought him to the Heavens and giving him a free ticket to Valinor, where he would live forever in peace.
"What?!?" Siralil exclaimed while rage was rushing over his face like thunder. "I d-didn't mean...." Sitinion mumbled while he looked at his father.
"I just feel bad for the Company and for Tanroth. What if they aren't dead?" Sitinion continued trying to defend himself and what he'd just said. He knew however that his father would never let him get out of this fully skinned. It was a terrible thing to say to his father, even though this was what Sitinion felt.
"They are dead!" Siralil said and raised his voice. "How come they're not here then?" When the ship is leaving this afternoon?" Siralil continued now almost whispering. "Don't feel bad for something you didn't do, son." Siralil said now, as he was trying to comfort his son. He bent over him clapping him on the shoulder. "It'll be alright son, when we get to the ship you'll see we've made the right choice...It'll be alright." Siralil continued.
But deep down Sitinion knew that it wouldn't, even though Tanroth and the Company never showed up.

"He gave his seat away. And he cannot come here and claim it back, if not Arilewen is willing to give it back." Firiel said.
Tanroth followed the conversation carefully. Arilewen stood behind him, breathing heavily. Tanroth couldn’t understand how Sitinion had more right to go to Valinor than Arilewen. For Tanroth however, all hope was lost. He had a mission, to lead the elves safely to the Havens. Now, if someone was going home, and there was obviously someone who was, he would have to lead that person home, right? He shuddered by this thought, but tried to look at the positive side of it; there would be a ship after the War as well.
Arilewen looked as if she was in serious thought. It was after all her decision. Is she was to separate father and son, which Siralil was not hoping for, or go herself. It was obvious that most thought it was out of question that Sitinion would go with this ship. He was far younger than any of the members in the company. Tanroth looked at Arilewen, and said in a low voice:”You better decide quickly. The ship will leave soon.” By this, Siralil seemed to be very surprised. He hadn’t really imagined that any would separate his son and him. Now there was actually a chance for that, which would mean that Sitinion could die in the war while fighting.
**~**
The company made ready to leave the Inn. From the window of the Inn, they could glimpse the white swan ship and the white sails. Soon the Inn was over crowded by the elves that were apparently leaving as well. In the corner or Tanorth’s eye, he coulfd glance Siralil and Sitionion. They too, made their way to the Grey Havense, but not very sure in their case.
“Do you think she will let him follow his father?” Firiel asked, as they walked to the Havens. Tanroth hadn’t told Firiel about the Hafling yet, and he wondered if he ever would. It didn’t seem right yet, would it ever? Is anyone knew, maybe they would feel bad for him that he was the one who got this mission, since he was ‘doomed’ to go back, if anyone else did. Now even, the one who would be going back, wouldn’t do it out of own intention, but out of the fact that this person had no choice
“I met a Hafling,” Tanroth said suddenly, stopping.
Firil looked questioningly at him. Rostion came over, while the others walked straight ahead, following the crowd.
“A Hafling?” she said, wondering where all this was going. Tanroth took a deep breath, looked at Rostion then at Firiel and started telling, about the Hafling and the meeting at the outskirts of Michel Delving. “He told me two elves had passed through Michel Delving just a day earlier. One of them had introduced themselves as Siralil,” he said, finishing with another sentence that made no sense at all.
“I won’t be going with this ship. I must follow the last person home, to Lothlórien,” he said, with great difficulty. Firiel and Rostion had known this for a while. It had been obvious for quite some time now; from the moment they met Siralil and Sitinion at the Inn. No one had said anything about this matter, and Tanroth gussed it was out of pity.
Neither Firiel nor Rostion looked surprised, they only looked at him, saddened that this was the end; the end of their journey and something that was supposed to end so differently. However, Tanroth clapped Rostion and the back and whispered that they would meet again, “Some day,” he said. They started walking down to the Havens, where many elves already had made it to the ship and waited comfortably for it to sail west.

This game seems to be cursed with broken computers! Mine was not working for a few days, but it's fixed now. So sorry!
I have something to be added right after this bit:
"I am going," he said, through clenched teeth. By this, Arilewen made her way through the crowd and left the Inn. Dunaire followed her, while the others tried to digest this heavy news. _____________________________________________
"Wait!" Dunaire's call startled Arilewen, and she turned around. "Where are you going?"
"Siralil is older than I am, he has more right to sail on the ship. I will go back to Lothlorion." Arilewen had tears in her eyes, this decision had been hard to make.
"Nothing is sure yet. Wait awhile. We were not the only group to come to the havens. Maybe one of another group was lost along the way, though I hope it is not so. There may yet be a place for you."
"You're right. I will stay awhile." Arilewen turned and went back into the inn, with Dunaire following her.

Firiel and the Company stood there together on the harbour. The ship was ready and its white sails were already blowing in the smooth wind. "This is it." Firiel said to the others. "This is we say good bye to Tanroth and the one who follows him back to Lorien." She continued. Her eyes went blank as they had done earlier that day, but this time it was because of the sadness she felt, not the anger. Rostion stood next to her and took her hand. There were now tears that streamed down from Firiels' pale face.
She took her hand and wiped them off, but they continued to come. "I'm sorry." Firiel said and laughed. "I'm just going to miss this earth....and….." We know Erkaliel said. "So will all of us." She continued.
"Let us not grieve." Tanroth said. "Because we reached our goal, we have succeeded.....We came here as a group of nine elves, but it seems that only seven of us are able to leave, and move on to the next step. I will, as I've said before go back to the Lady in Lorien. I will not decide who the second will be, that is not up to me. All of you have to make a choice, a hard choice indeed, on so little time, but we have no more. " Tanroth said while he had a serious look upon his face.

She took her hand and wiped them off, but they continued to come. "I'm sorry." Firiel said and laughed. "I'm just going to miss this earth....and….." We know Erkaliel said. "So will all of us." She continued.
Erkaliel had gone down to the docks following the companions, not with them; she spoke only to Tanroth, and then went on to the Ship - so Firiel could not have spoken to her. I edited in Solondil's name instead.
Hope this is all ok. I think it tracks well enough now.
There is now room for Tanroth to say whatever more he needs to and for Firiel and the others to finish up and get on board the ship.
