It seemed like it took forever for darkness to fall. Elenna could hear some battle noises coming from across the river, and it burned her heart not to be able to charge in and help, but it would place everyone in danger to reveal them at this point. She brushed Celebdae over and over until not a single dust mote clung to his glimmering silver hide, just for something to do.
"Elenna, come and have something to eat. It is going to be a long night." said Glorfindel, coming up next to her with a plate of stew in his hands.
"What would I do without you to take care of me, my love?"
"That's an interesting thought, coming from someone who has made it her job to watch his back." said Therin with a mouthful of food.
"Shut up, Therin" Elenna warned.
"Oh, he's just jealous. He wishes he could have a warrior pretty as you looking out for him." Glorfindel kissed her, then handed her the food, going back to get his own plate. Therin joined them, and for the first time since they had begun to march, Elenna felt like, if she survived, there could be life outside of war.

Roaring loudly, Daelothwen raised her double bladed sword over her head, letting the sun bounce off of it and hit the men's sheilds behind her. "Death to the Orc! Carrion fowl! Ride, my soldiers!" She screamed, her horse snorting and pawing at the ground as the army of orc roared and met her.

She galloped down the field, far right from Elenna's army which held the center, her sister, Sillothwen held the left in silver and green banners.

They met like two opposing gusts of wind, and immediatly, Daelothwen slid off of her horse and sliced down the nearest orc. She relished in the sight of it; the sight of the orc blood staining her skin, her armor and her weapon. She met the nearest orc that dared charge her, sliding one sword end through the orc's body. "One down..." She whispered softly as she met another, and another, and another. She lost cound after a while, as the sun rose high in the cerulean skies. "For you my father." Daelothwen said softly as she looked from side to side to see her comrades. They were closing in around the remainder of the forces and it looked like all of the links in the elfish army were perfect and unbreakable.

After the two elves and Dwarf finished eating and chatting, Therin said, "Well my friends, this has been a great talk. But for now, I am going to do some scouting around the camp--to make sure there are no orcs around. I'll be back later, don't worry about me." "Are you sure its safe to go alone Therin?" said Glorfindel. "Probably not for anyone other than me, save a few maybe. I will be fine, you two have 'fun' staying here. I'm sure you can figure something out." At that, Therin made a horrible attempt to wink, and Elenna burst out with a, "THERIN!" Therin chuckled, then drew out Dólinstàg and swung it around a bit as to warm up. Then he drew the hood on his Dwarven cloak over his head, and was off.

Therin roamed about the outskirts of camp a bit, and then ventured a bit further. He observed many things about the positions of the orcs. He saw the main arrangement of the orcish army from some fires that were lit, and as he watched he discovered a small company (of about 12) very large orcs near the perimeter of the camp. It seemed as if they had been placed there either as scouts, or for an ambush. Before these orcs could even draw their weapons 5 orcs laid headless and 1 without an arm. Within a few seconds all the orcs had fallen. At that, Therin head back for Elenna and Glorfindel.

Therin arrived back with Elenna and Glorfindel without being noticed, and seemed to have surprised the two very much--especially with the fact that his clothes, and his axe had fresh blood on them. "What happened!?" exclaimed Elenna. "I scouted out the area, and I know the general placement of the orcish army. I ran into a small company of orcs on the south side of our camp. I guess that they were sent there as either scouts, or for an ambush in the night. Nevertheless, they cease to exist." replied Therin. "Therin I do not know what we would do without you." said Elenna. "Lets get some rest then. Tomorrow is going to be a rough day."

Ala and Aman sat waiting in the tree, it was pitch black, and the moon did not favor them this night.
"Ala, are you ok? You havn't spoken for about 5 hours."
"Ya, Im ok, thanx for listening to my lovly lifes history." Ala cracked a smile.
"It's way to dark, I cant see a thing." Aman squinted in the dark. But Ala came to her rescue but burning a small flame in the palm of her hand.
"Thanx. I can actually see you now."
"Well, not for long. I'm gonna go scout out some orc. Just to make sure none try to attack us tonite." With that she jumped out of the tree before Aman could protest.
Ala pulled her cloak up over head, so she moved and looked like a shadow in the trees.
She put out the fire, and cast a small spell on her eyes, so she could see in the dark. She went into "Stealth Mode" and went to check on the horses. She counted them, and they were all there. She turned her head at a sound that came from her right. She slowly creeped in that direction, and saw a figure cross the grass. She snuck up behind it and put it in a headlock before it new what happened.
"Who are you? You are no orc?" Ala held her sword to his throat.
"I am Calenephel, remember i save your life today?"
"Ah, yes, to that i am deeply greatful."
"Now, could you ah, let me go?"
"Oops, ya sry." ALa blushed, but then composed herself,"May i ask what you are doing out this late?"
"I could ask you the same, but i am scouting, there is a small band of like 7 orcs over about those trees, see to the left?"
"Yes, i see, i am doin the same."
"Well then shall we go kill us some orc?"
"Ofcourse. Got your bow?" She pulled hers out, and he did the same. They quietly made their way to were the orcs were. She let loose an arrow, and one orc went down. Calenephel let one go, 2 orcs down five to go. The other 5 didnt even notice the 2 were dead. Calen and Ala killed them effortlessly.
"Well, shall we go back?" He offered her his arm, which she took, and they walked back.
"So, tell me Calenephel, were are you from?"
"Please, call me Calen." He asked."I came from Mirkwood, but i mostly travel. I try to learn things, about war, and weapontry."
"Mirkwood? I've been there a few times."
"I'm surprised, i didn't see you. I dont how i could miss such beauty." Calen stopped and kissed her hand.
"Now is not the time, No matter how nice or handsome you may be. We have a war to fight." She sighed and continued walking, he caught up with her.
"Yes, I agree." They walked on in silence, and she took his arm. They finally arrived were Aman was stationed in her tree.
"Well i will leave you now, milady Alateriel." He spoke in a whisper.
"Thanx again." She smiled, and he kissed her hand, and they said goodnight. She climbed the tree, and sat next to Aman.
"I see you have an admirerer." Aman said with hinting in her voice.
"Whatever...Even tho he is cute..."

Elenna giggled. Glorfindel, who had his arm around her, looked at her in surprise.
"What's so funny?"
"Ala found a new love interest. Apparently they bonded over a gang of orcs."
"Ala? The anti-romantic Ala that I know all too well? SHE found someone?"
"Oh, be quiet. She isn't completely anti romantic. If she were, she would have set you on fire."
"Could that just be because she likes you? Anyway, why does she hate me so much?"
"She and I were both born to, well, ordinary families. Her family was very much aware of what they lacked in position and wealth, so they turned to Sauron. She doesn't like you because she doesn't think you have ever had to struggle for anything in your life. She doesn't understand why you would waste your time with a girl like me."
"Yes, that does sound like Ala. I'm not wasting my time. Somebody has to look out for you. Why are you wasting YOUR time with me?"
"Well, before I met you, I couldn't tell a sword from a bow. Plus I love you. Good enough reasons?"
"Perfect. I love you too." They kissed, and Therin, who had been sitting nearby, groaned loudly.
"If you aren't embarrassing each other, you might have some compassion towards ME! It was bad enough listening to you, without having to watch you too." Elenna laughed again and threw a chunk of earth at him half-heartedly.
"You'd change your tune if Rosa Baggins ever indicated any interest in your direction. You'd melt like butter, oh tough and grim one."

Fëa was sitting in Aman's tree, a branch above her.

"So the famous Alateriel has an admirer..." Fëa said.

"Shut Up Fëa. You know Aduchil likes you!" Ala raised her eyebrows when she said that.

"Your right. And I like him too." Fëa stuck her tounge out.

"People! People! This is War! We can't think of love right now!" Aman yelled.

"Shhhh! You said that so loud that Eru and Manwe could here you!" Fëa said.

"Whatever!" Aman jumped up and pushed Fëa, and she fell of her branch. Fëa grabbed the branch and jumped back up and sat down.

"I'll get you for that.." Fëa chuckled.

Aduchil came out of nowhere.
"How long have you been listening?" Aman questioned.
"Don't worry, I barely heard a thing. I was actually passing through."
"Yeah right." Aman shook her head.
"You should try a more positive attitude, Aman. I heard your last words, and with all respect, I think you are wrong. In war, love is of the greatest importance. How can we hope for a better future, when all around is is death, if we do not remember love? It is my love for my foster father Elrond that keeps my fighting even when all my strength is gone."
With those words he left, leaving them all puzzled, but a few of them wiser.

Elenna frowned thoughtfully. Aduchil's words, practically shouted at her from Aman's mind, made sense. In the time that she had been in Lorien and riding back to Rivendell, she had thought about her reasons for fighting a lot. At first, she had only wanted revenge on Azruk, but no longer. She understood now that her revenge took second place to the fact that now, she was fighting for people that she loved and a place that she loved. Glorfindel, Elrond, Rivendell. Those were her reasons. Aman, Ala, Rosa, Therin. These were the things worth fighting for.
"I don't need you getting philosophical on me, Elenna. All I need is a fighter." said Aman, thoroughly disgruntled.
"Oh, Aman...I left a rather interesting young elf commanding the army that is walking. His name is Lindir. Dark haired, tall. You should meet him!" Elenna covered her ears as an earsplitting round of curses entered her mind.

Aman glared after the good looking elf and twitched her fingers slightly, and sure enough the elf tripped slightly over a tree root. She smiled to herself and tried to ignore the looks of Fea, Ala AND Elenna. She squirmed slightly."What?"
She heard Elennas thoughts, now turned to love, loud and clear, her senses in mind bonds much stronger than her friend.
"Ms Starsong, dont you go all philosophical on me as well! All I need is a fighter!"
Elenna told her friend about Lindir while trying to keep a straight face. Her friend sent a round of curses into her mind and she pretended to be suitably shocked.
"Amanaduial, there are orcs who would be shocked to hear that! As one with the blessing of the Valar, i wouldnt expect that of you!"
"As one blessed by the Valar, I have the advantage of saying it and getting a godspoken forgiveness in one breath!"
Elenna laughed."I havent heard words like that since you and Arwens brothers had that competition, with them against you and..and..my sister..."
Aman winced, sensing the sore point and got the flash of Thrakatburzs projected memory of the poor young girl.She replied more quietly. "Now that was a love worth saving. Family love."
"You think new love cannot be created?"
"Hey now, I never said that! Fine!" She feigned a sigh and carried on with a smile. "Now the rest of the crew think Im mad and sad, talking and laughing to myself, you may as well make yourself more clear about this Lindir..."
Her friend chuckled. "Im getting all my witches paired of now arent I, Queen Frigid?"

"Are you talking to Elenna?"
"Yes. Elenna what did you say?" Aman was talkin to 2 people, and she didn't like it.
"Hey can i talk to her?" Ala asked with a smile.
"Yah." Ama sighed and Ala grabbed her hand, and she instantly heard Elennas voice.
"And tell her that i said hi and-" But Elenna was cut off by Ala, "Hey Elenna!!"
"TIRI!! Ok, so tell me whats up with this guy of yours?" Aman sighed, and closed her eyes, as the two very excited females talked.
After about 3 minutes, Calen and another archer went running past.
"Orcs, about 100 over to the west!" Calen shouted, but with a smile at Ala.
"Aww, you have to go. Well go kick some Orc butt for me will you?" Elenna asked.
"Ofcourse." And the conection was cut. Ala and Aman and Fea jumped out of the tree, and raced ofter the few archers that were going to fight.

Elenna groaned as she lost contact with Tiri and had to return to her own little world of waiting.
"So...what's happening with your friends?" Therin asked.
"How did you know I was talking to them?"
"You get a very glazed expression in those blue eyes of yours. So, what is going on?"
"100 orcs. Apparently, Azruk hasn't realized that there are snipers in the trees. Either that or he doesn't care."
"So what are we waiting for? Let's go and help them!"
"We can't. If we announce our presence now, we cannot have a battle on our terms. Many lives would be needlessly lost."
"I hate waiting." the dwarf grumbled gruffly.
"So do I, my friend. So do I."

Lindir Starsong turned his horse slightly to look the small crowd of elves coming after him and despite his patient nature, he sighed quietly.
"Come friends, we are almost there!" He called to them, trying not to sound so timid.
"Almost where boy?" An irritated voice that Lindir didnt recognise came from the crowds as they struggled up the slope. Lindir gulped uncertainly and started thinking fast.
"Why...to Lady Elennas camp of course! She is waiting for us!" He knew he sounded nowhere near as confident as he would have liked. The dark haired elf remembered the moment when Lady Elenna had left him in charge.
The exasperated commander had turned to face him."You. What's your name?"
"I am Lindir, my lady." the young elf had replied, a little overwhelmed that the Lady had noticed him.
"You are in charge of those we leave behind. Don't exhaust them, but hurry. We will need you soon."
The elf smiled to himself; why had Elenna gone for him? He turned his startlingly blue eyes towards the group now assembled at the top of the hill. "Of course. She chose me simply because there was no need to choose anyone with talent...or anything..."
"Im sorry Lindir, I missed that. What did you say?" An elf beside the crestfallen Lindir questioned and Lindir realised what a fool he must look. Turning away so his blush would not show on his pale cheeks, looking instead to the way they were going.
"Its nothing...I-I was just..." Suddenly his eyes widened in shock as he looked backwards and saw a camfire. Smiling and glad for a distraction he turned back to the elves.
"We-we are actually almost there! See- a camfire! Come on, we can pick up the pace a bit!" He urged his horse into a faster trot, amnd the inspired elves behind him followed him...little did they know how far of course they were...

Aduchil quietly continued his scouting. He had killed a few orcs, but he knew the battle had not begun. Elenna was waiting, to avoid the trap that the foul Uruk leader no doubt had made. But where was the rest of the army. Elenna had left a young elf in charge, but Aduchil had seen no trace of them. Although he was not the best tracker, even he would have noticed something. If the orcs attacked now, before the army had assembled and a battleplan could be made, they could easily be defeated. He continued his search with an uneasy heart.

Elenna stood by a table in her tent, staring at a map of the Rivendell area, waiting for some sort of inspiration to strike. Therin and Glorfindel stood next to her. They had been at this for several hours, with no solution in sight.
"Well, we can't stay here. That's for sure. Azruk is not stupid. He knows how to use those trees to his advantage better than we did." Elenna clenched her fist and slammed it on the table. "I just don't know what to do! I have never had to plan to attack something, just defend!"
"Calm down, lass. Go to sleep. You'll just wear yourself out going on like this."
"You're probably right, Therin. Let's all get some sleep." Elenna walked outside and spread a blanket down upon a hillside. Her last thought before falling asleep was "I wonder what my sister would say if she saw what I have become." In her mind, she saw Lalaith's grin, heard her laugh and say "El, stop taking yourself so seriously! Loosen up! What is meant to be will be, and it doesn't make any sense to worry about it!"

Elenna fell asleep with a smile on her lips, not realizing that this was the first time she had thought of her sister without pain.

"Let me just get this straight, right...we have been waiting in a tree for more than 2 hours when Aduhil alerts us. As we are just racing off, we realise they are coming our way and what do we do? We decide to prepare an ambush. fine, fine...but why in another TREE?"
Ala grinned at Amans impatience as they sat in yet another tree, waiting for the orcs or uruk coming along the road. Aman comtinued, more out of boredom than anything else. "I mean, why bother to get out of the tree in thr first place? Hey, maybe were cursed...thats it, of all the the curses we could have had, we ended up with the curse of everlasting trees!"
"Ill bring you closer to nature in a moment...hey, maybe sitting on the ground would make you closer to it hmmm?" Ala replied, and Aman pushed her jokily. "Ha! Right Ill get you for that push; go on... tell us about this Lindir of yours..."
Aman laughed and Fea sat up, coming out of her depression. "Oooh, this sounds interesting Aman- go on!"
"Ok leave it OK? My Lindir? I avent even met hi-" She stopped as they heard the heavy tramp of hobnailed boots on the ground near them. Aman drew out her sais, Aduchil and Fea drew their swords and Ala wnt straight for sparking fire from her hands for a flame attack.
"Methinks we are about to be ridded of the dreaded curse of the tree..." Aduchil whispered as they prepared to leap down.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Lindir soon realised something was not right as he looked towards the camp. Maybe it was the crude way the tents were put up...or the foul slabs of meat over the fire...or suddenly he noticed quite cooly, the large orc coming out of a tent.
If there was one thing the elegant elf had always been able to do, it was keep his head and help others keep theirs. The others murmered with fear behind him but he turned his head to them and all observed his calm face.
"Ah!" He said, still in his placid voice. "Though I do not have a death wish, methinks these creatures do." He looked at the distance to the camp. Still qyite a way off, the orc a little stick thing. He swallowed. They had time.
"Let us alert Elenna at once!" With that he turned and with controlled panic to the map reader. "Look at that map and get us to Elennas camp. Really fast would be good!" With that he turned to see the orcs pointing and gulped.
"Speed freinds speed!" Although his voice was calm, he was terrified inside and wheeled his horse around to gallop in th dirction the map reader pointed, the elves streaming steadily behind him

Fëa decided thst she could kill many more orcs and Uruk with her bow and arrows. She saw them martching swiftly towards them. "Ready Arms!" Ala said.

"Aduchil, good luck!" She gave him a quick hug.

"You to Fëa! Let's kill some of those evil things! You better kill alot of 'em! You are the experienced warrior, anyway..." Aduchil laughed a little.

It was nearly dawn when Elenna heard hoofbeats coming closer and closer to camp. Leaping up, she grabbed her sword from its scabbard next to her and stood, ready for anything. Behind her, she heard the rest of the camp also awake, prepared to do battle. Then the young elf who had been keeping sentry came up to her.
"My lady, it is Lindir and the rest of the army! They say they have seen orcs!"
"Thank Elbereth! They made it! Tell Lindir I wait for him in my tent, along with Therin and Glorfindel. We'll want a full report."

Lindir knelt before Elenna, breathing heavily. She blushed slightly, trying to bring him up as quickly as possible.
"Lady Elenna-" He began before she stopped him.
"Please. Less of the Lady! What have you seen?"
"L- I mean Elenna, we saw an orc camp a few miles from here. Id say maybe 200, 250 orcs there." The elf swayed slightly. He ached all over from riding so hard. Elenna cursed quietly under her breath and Lindirs eyebrows rose slightly. Elenna glared at him and he stopped, smiling slightly. Suddenly he stopped as he heard something in his head.
"Amanaduial....i will find you....i will come through your friends and allies-"
"Lindir are you OK?"
Lindir shook his head. The voice he had heard...it had been so hard and cold...he shivered at the thought and turned back to Elenna. Guessing telling her he was hearing strange voices in his head was not the best idea, he shook his head at her.
"Nothing L- Elenna. Shall I get the army ready to ride again?"
Elenna looked at him, worried about his bemused worried and not to mention tired look, before nodding slowly.
"Yes we shall meet up withy Amanaduial. I here they need her."
"Amanaduial?" The elf questioned Elenna on the name. She smiled slightly, remembering what she had said to Aman.
"A witch. A very nice witch though..." She added hurriedly at his cautious expression. "I shall tell you more as we ride. Im guessing you will be riding beside me?"
Lindirs eyes widened and he looked down to try and hide his face. The leader of Rivendells army was asking him to ride with her as a commander.
"I would be honoured L- erm, Elenna!"

The air reeked of a familiar and welcoming stench as Azruks eyes lit up. War!
His spies reported the amassing of elven armies by the far end of the Bruinin. A few days ago Azruk discovered that Elrond, the lord of rivendell was a captive under his very nose. Thrakatburz had an agenda unknown to him. She was quite the schemer... all the more reason to have her company.

After having his fun with Elrond, who was now a beaten and broken elf, hardly recognisable, Azruk set off to marshall his troops. The vast army was fresh and ready for battle. They would enjoy spilling more elf-blood again. The Bruinin would run red in elfblood. More power to the Uruks.

The Nazgul commander appeared to have suffered a defeat at the early attack, but no matter the war was his to win. Uruk archers armed the walls and makeshift towers as hordes of orcs prepared to stem the elf assault.

Thrakatburz was again nowhere to be seen. But it didn't matter, she was not needed in the heat of battle, but better suited at other engagements.

The giant Kurhg led the orcs on the ground, as the other Uruks on horseback were ever at the ready. Azruk sipped wine and eagerly anticipated the attack from the elves. Lothlorien can wait, he would enjoy crushing Elenna and her forces once again. His dark eyes gleamed in the firelight. War!

The elf slipped down the tree, her black hair flowing over her slim tall form. She stood in front of the startled band of orc scouts and saw they were pulling a cart covered with a large stained cloth.
"Thrakatburz..." A few of the orcs drew their swords uncertainly in front of the one they saw to be their ruthless witch leader. Inwardly Aman flinched at the name under her disguise of her enemy. It had been Aduchils idea, and she had to admit it was a good one, but she still wasnt comfortable with it. However she had to keep it up...
"Put ure blades down fools!" She snapped at them. "You know what I can do without a weapon at all." She raised her arms threateningly and the dim orcs huriedly put down their swords. Aman tried to stop the feeling of enjoyment coming over her.
"What is in your cart? Show it to me." She commanded. The orcs hesitated. Obviously something very precious was under there for them to question her. She took a step forward and the orcs tried to stand their ground.
"Show it to me!" She hissed at the lead orc. He gulped before replying.
"No." Aman felt not the slightest bit of remorse as she raised her arms. Then she ducked as 3 elvsih arrows flew from the tree straight and true into 3 orcs hearts. They fell without a sound and Aman turned around the tree as the other ran over. They stepped over the bodies to the cart. Dreading what could be hidden there, Aman and Ala drew back the blanket with a flourish. The others gasped and fell to their knees, but Fea rushed forwards to whatever was in the cart. The witches exchanged glances and came around from the blanket to see the broken and unconcious form in the cart.
"Lord Elrond...." Aman breathed quietly

"Aduchil, my father is seriously hurt. Aman and Ala are going to try to heal him, but I don't think it's going to work..." She jumped in Aduchil's arms. He craddled her like a baby.

Lowering her voice Aman spoke so no-one but ala could hear her. "I dont mean to worry you, but this isnt technically just healing magic."
"Point?" Ala was impatient. Aman bit her lip. "Well, technically this is, er, Necromancery."
Ala went very pale. "Hes dead?"
"Pretty much. You Ok with that?" Ala gave a short hard laugh. "Do you forget which side my mother was on, and that she was the one who taught me!"
Aman flinched but didnt question her friend. Quietly she started speaking. Even Ala could hardly hear her, but she knew with a shiver what she was doing; intoning spirits of dead...

Thrakatburz walked stealthily through the wood surrounding the orc camp. She had been busy for the last few days planning the battle. Azruk had been glad of the information about the number of elves and their tactics, which she had been able to glean from Amanaduial's mind. She laughed lightly as she thought of how easy it had been to get in and see the world through the other's eyes.
She felt the prickle of dark magic on her porcelain skin and a thirll ran through her limbs. A wry smile spread across her face, the elf's toy witch was near and Thrakatburz was ready to finish what they had started. Abandonning her search, she closed her eyes and allowed the magic to flow over her, turning her towards its source. Her eyes snapped open and inside them a new fire burned. Quickly but quietly, she stalked towards the magic, adopting as she did an invisibility which would make her seem like a cold breeze to the untrained eye. Thrakatburz knew the other witch would be able to see her, but from the strength of the magic, Aman's concentration would be focused on her task.
Thrakatburz knew she was getting close, not only by the almost visible magic, but by the elevn archers sitting idly in the trees. Huddling below one opf the trees was a group of elves, Aman among them, chanting quietly. Stepping closer, Thrakatburz saw they were huddled around the crushed body of Elrond. They had regained their lord, but she did not need him any longer. She knew where the ring of water was hidden. Laughing mirthlessly, she stepped into the huddle.

The army was moving again. Lindir and Glorfindel rode on either of Elenna's sides, Lindir plainly starstruck. He nearly fell off his horse every time she looked at him or spoke to him. The elves were going to attack Rivendell from the sides, not from the Bruinen. They forded it carefully, the wate becoming quiescent when it felt the Elven horses walking through it. Therin shivered.

"I just...don't like water. Is that a problem?"

"Yes, it is. Hold on tight." Therin gripped her waist hard, his armor digging into her back. Elenna spurred Celebdae on, getting to the other side quickly. "We have to hurry. Lord Elrond has been found, and we have some fighting to do."

Ick. I'm typing from my grandmother's MAC. No wonder I hate these things!

"Morning Amanaduial. Nice day to regain a lord eh?"
Aman stiffened, the chant freezing on her lips. Elrond groaned softly as she stopped and Ala looked up, but carried on chanting.
"Ah so hes even alive now? Well well little toy, you are doing well-"
She was cut off as Aman spun around and hit her hard on the jaw. Despite herself, the elegant witch staggered backwards and fell to the ground. She touched her mouth and felt the blood there but Aman didnt even smile, her face pale as she stood abve the dark witch on the ground.
"Who is thi-" Ala started to stand, bringing the chant to a halt.
"Keep the chant going!" Aman cut off Ala desperatly and Thrakatburz smiled as she stood, grabbing the younger witches wrist to stop her swinging again.
"Ah Amanaduial, glad to see whos in charge here...or can I call you Aman?"
"You can call me nothing for out of your lips it is soiled!" Amans reply came
back hard and cold and her eyes began to burn with silver fire again, as Thrakats did with black. Ala kept the chant going, almost finished, but her eyes flicked wildly from one witch to the other.

Elenna there is a problem.....can any of you use simple elf magic?
There may be a few....
You will need it. Thrakatburz has made a barrier against sight-

Aman was cut off as she felt the steel of Thrakats thoughts press suffocatingly against hers. Brutally she thrust out, making a sword with her mind and felt the witch reel back in surprise. She regained her composure quickly.
"So my child...have you had time to think about my offer...?" She purred silkily...

-------------------------------------------

"AH!" Lindir reeled backwards nearly falling of his horse as the force of something in his mind hit him. Glorfindel grabbed him.
"Hey, you Ok?" Elennas worried face peered at him.
The raven haired elf remembered the voice again, hitting with such force against his mind; what was it? He shook his head at Elenna, trying to convince himself he was strong enough to fight this....

Elenna assisted Lindir back onto his horse. He wasn't physically harmed, it seemed, but he kept rubbing his forehead, looking extremely confused.

"Aman, what is going on with him? Can you tell?" she thought to her friend, feeling exhaustion and pain in her mind. "Are you all right?"

Aman, I CAN do it, but I'm not good. How bout Lindir can?

She turned to the orc draught by her bed.It had been so long since she found it and the temptation increased rapidly though the weeks.She reached out for it with a small hand and grabbed it in her parm, tightly.The smell was overwelming as she pulled the cap off but she didnt care and soon sh brought the draught to her lips and drank it.

"Elenna, there is something I need to tell you." said Therin sollumly. "A message has arrived from my people at the Lonely Mountain. He says that things are amiss, and something strange has been stumbled apon in the mines. Bottom line, they need me to be there."

"But Therin! We need you here! How are we going to protect Rivendell without the Dwarves!?"

"I know, I want to stay here but my people are in need. I will leave a regiment of Dwarves with you. I trust there leader very much, his name is Pundin. I believe without a doubt that you will succeed here."

"I understand that you have obligations to your people. I will miss you very much Therin." said Elenna, as she began to cry.

"I know it will be tough without me around here. I am very glad that we have become such close friends. I will return once things are normal again at the Lonely Mountain. I have a gift for you, that may be of some assistance from your Therin-withdrawl-symptoms." said Therin, chuckling slightly. At that, Therin pulled out a round stone about the size of a softball.

"Is that what I think it is!?" cried Elenna. "A palantir? No, a Dwarf would never use one of those things. But the concept is similar. I have one just like it, and we can use this to communicate while I'm gone. I have grown to like the company of all these fine folk, and will miss them much while I am gone. I will return as soon as I can. Make sure Rosa stays safe while I'm gone, Ok?" Elenna agreed, and at this Therin embraced Elenna, and was gone.

"What is wrong?" Glorfindel was instantly at her side, his arm around her waist. "You look like you've seen death."

"I have, my love. Tomorrow. Azruk comes." she fainted.

Aman gasped suddenly to the surprise of Thrakatburz. She winced as she watched with horror as the picture of Rosa picked up the blood bottle. Trying to cry out she found it had no use; her cries were stfled by something in Rosas own mind, some evil planted there. With terrifying clarity she saw and felt the blood trickling as if down the sides of her skull. Once again her vision of Rosa was blocked out and she couldnt reach the poor young hobbit.
"No..." She whispered. Something was happening to Rosa after she commited this brutality to herself unconciously and Aman had a a feeling it would change things.
Yes Aman it will change things. Aman felt the other witches voice in her head and tried to shake it away when they both stopped when they heard a noise. Hoofbeats, fast hoofbeats. With a terrible feeling in her gut Aman looked up and saw with terrible feeling and saw with horror a huge host of orcs coming led by the uruk himself; Azruk.
However she got an even bigger shock when she saw the look on Thrakatburzs pale face as she saw the leader coming....

It was the last night before the battle. Elenna lay awake for many hours before finally dropping off into dreams.

In her dream, she danced on a hilltop, wearing the blue dress and circlet that Galadriel had given her. All around her, the trees whispered "Tindomerel! Tindomerel!".

When she awoke, she could feel a slight pressure on her forehead. Putting up a hand, she realized that it was Tinuviel's circlet. She remembered the rest of her dream.

"Tindomerel?" Tiri mind-shouted as Elenna described her dream. "The trees called you Tindomerel? Elenna, that is Tinuviel in Quenya! The prophecy..."

"Yes? What about the prophecy?"

"Never mind. It will come to pass anyway. We have things to do today. Azruk is marching."

"I have a plan now! It just came to me!"

Dashing out of her tent, Elenna went to awake Glorfindel and the new dwarven commander. "I've got it! I know what we have to do. We have to get into Rivendell! We can skirt right around their army. They won't have many people left to guard, and we know it way better than they do!"

The army awoke and began to march. Unknowingly, they passed not 2 miles from where Azruk was marching to their camp.

Thrakatburz drew in a breath slowly over her teeth. She knew Azruk would not harm her while there were other elves around, but she was no longer so sure of her security. She saw Amanaduial's face and realised she was letting her fear show. She swallowed, returning to her normal, proud, ruthles self and her face was once more set, a mask of hatred veiled by a cold and distant beauty.
She noticed for the first time the other elf, still chanting quietly over the body of Elrond.
"Who's your friend?" she asked out loud, so the other elf could hear, though her voice was no less chilling. "Is she like you, will she join the darkness?" Thrakatburz asked, her voice now soft and syrupy and eyes opened wide, looking mockingly at Aman. She smiled wickedly as the other elf faltered in her incantation and looked up apalled at Aman, whose only reply was a sharp
"Keep chanting!"
"Ah, yes, the chanting." Thrakatburz's voice was sweet and her tone patronising, but it still sent chills down the spine of those who heard her. The elves present with no knowledge of magic heard nothing, but felt a coldness trike at their hearts. "Calling up the spirits of the dead, I'm impressed, you can do real magic." her tone cut like steel. "I'd be careful, though, if I were you, those who answer the call tend to be the...less satisfied ones, shall we say, and Elrond had enemies, you could end up doing more harm than good. Unless you'd like some help that is."
Her meaning flashed across into Aman's mind
"Join me" it said, "Be like me, strong and powerful"
"You would not help him" Aman said, gritting her teeth for the onslaught of Thrakatburz attack.
"But you're not really trying to help him, are you?"

Something in Amans stomach lurched strangely as Thrakatburz said her last few words. Was she trying to accomplish something other than just helping Elrond? I mean he was just an ignorant old fool whose only magic comes from a ring...hmmmm, doesnt that sound familiar? Aman started at the idea, before realising it was not her own. Thrakatburz looked mildly surprised as she realised the mind tie had been broken but her glare was quickly composed again to a face of sweetness and light.
"You know you want to join me....the dark side is so much better. Remember the saying, Thick as Thieves." Thrakat purred on, but both witches were distracted as Alas head shot up involuntarily as the evil witch said the last few words. She was white as a ghost...Elronds ghost...or the ones trying to stop him?
Aman knew this couldnt be possible. Shed put upa ll the barriers and offered fruits of the elements to the spirits in exchange for his soul. But she was no true necromancress...

Rosa put the bottle down on the side table, all the draught gone.
Sickness filled her stomach and dizzyness though her head.Her eyes turned green again but the sickness never left and now she was having difficulty breathing.
Taste of the draught still on her tongue, she fell from her seat, shivering, when her sight turned back as sh fell from consciousness.

Ala stopped chanting, and Looked Thrakatburz in the eyes.
"So, who are you?" Thrakatburz asked again.
"Alateriel Darkstar." Ala stated.
"Darkstar, I knew your mother." The witch mused, quite a good witch she was, very powerful, i believe she told you about the side of "good", hmm, what was it that she said, Thick as Theives?"
"Yes, well, then i am thick as a theive to choose this side. I have seen your side, and I dont care for it." She turned back to Elrond, and continued her chant, but stopped, she could feel the ground shaking, and her heart filled with fear. She turned and looked, Azruk was coming.
"CALEN!! GRAB ELROND! TAKE HIM SOMEWHERE SAFE!" Calen came running.
"Alright, but i will be back." He looked her in the eyes, and gave her a soft smile that told her not to be afraid. He leaned in and kissed her cheek then whispered, "I will be with you." He turned then carried Elrond away.
"Aman," Ala stood next to her friend and spoke in a whisper,"Are you ready?"
"Ready as i will ever be."

Aman gulped inwardly as she saw the terrible force coming at them, but outwardly she tried to keep her face impassive. Looking sidewards at Thrakatburz, she saw the witch was once again looking more than a little uncomfortable, her eyes fixed on the uruk general. She seemed to notice Aman looking at her though, for it then returned to its usual arrogance. Aman had seen though; something was amiss within the feelings of the two leaders. Glancing around she viewed their force and tried not to groan; herself, Alateriel, Aduchil and few archers, maybe 100 at most. They didnt have Fea or Calen, as they had taken Lord Elrond.
Aman then took a closer look at Ala and saw the other witch look quickly away almost guiltily, but her face told Aman more; she was wondering whether Thrakatburzs words about her going to the dark side were true. She tried to smile at Ala to reasure her, but how could she? Was it true? Thrakats words seemed to fit unnervingly.
And where was Elenna when you needed her? She issued another call to Elenna, but found with her someone elses mind...who was this?
Come on, we need you.....the orcs are approaching fast....we need you Elenna.....
Elenna? What is happening...Im hearing voices again...mustnt tell Elenna about this...

Aman was surprised at the gentle tone the other used and gathered he was a male elf. She would find more later, but right now she was desperate.
No! Do tell Elenna! This is Amanaduial and we need Elenna and you probably...whoever you are...
Amanaduial? His voice was questioning, but he recogised the alarm. We are coming Lady Amanaduial, do not worry...

"Aman! What the heck are you playing at? If you hadnt noticed orcs!" Alas voice cut through to Aman who snapped back from her thoughts of the mysterious elf.
"Erm yeah...." She looked around, and to her surprise and apprehension, Thrakatburz had gone. Strange...
"And they have horses! How do we-" Alas despairing voice was cut off as Aman snapped fully back to action mode
"Right! Hang on, I can deal with that." She yelled a word into the air, hands cupped around her mouth to amplify it. Then she smiled infuriatingly at Ala.
"Sorted."
"SORTED!? How is it- ah!" The near hysterical witch stopped and turned in the direction they had origionally come to see their horses thundering along. "Summoning?"
"Oh yeah. You like?"
"Nice!"

---------------------------------------------

They were standing outside some sort of invisble barrier, hopelessly trying to get in, when Lindir once again nearly fell of his horse as another voice hit him. He stayed on-just. It was becoming a running joke!
This time the voice was different though, not the cold hard steel of the other voice; It was softer, but emotionaly-laced, and obviously in danger. While trying to convince himself he was not scritsophrenic(SP?), he listened to the instructions, quickly passing them onto Elenna.
"Magic? Aman needs us to get in through magic?! I have warriors here, not wizards!" Elenna said desperatly. Hesitantly Lindir cleared his throat and spoke to her.
"I can do magic. Well quite well, but-"
"Could you get down the barrier?"
"Oh yes, of course. It may take a few moment though." He spoke more confidently now. Barriers werent THAT hard.
"Then go, Lindir, cos youre currently the only hope weve got!" Elenna ushed him forward. He concentrated on maing the barrier have a solid form as an illusion and, trying to ignore the sacry comment from behind, he then imagined it visualised away, and in its place a field. Instantly it was gone.
Elenna pulled him up onto his horse. "Ok, now you REALLY have to meet Aman."
Lindir smiled at her shyly. "But I already have."
Elenna opened and closed her mouth a few times before reflecting on the mysterious ways of Aman. She shrugged and, rearing up her horse she galloped towards the noise of already started battle...

Aduchil sighed. His plan to free Lord Elrond had worked, but no time to feast. The orcs were advancing. But where was Elenna? She and the infantry were supposed to be there now. If they did not hurry, the orcs could attack the archers, who would not stand a chance in melee fighting. He drew his sword. That which must happen, happens. Then it was like a mist was removed from his eyes. Some sort of magic had covered the rest of the army from his eyes, but here they were. He prepared himself to fight, and thought of why he fought. If he survived, he would see to it that no evil creatures never came between the Blue Mountains and Rivendell again.

Aman and Ala mounted their horses as did the rest of the archers.
"Joint effort?" Aman held out her hand to the other witch. Ala realised and took it.
"Absolutely. Your wierd silver eyed magic with my fire? Cant fail!"
The red haired witch smiled at her friend. Their hands had now started to give off sparks. They watched the first lot of oncoming orcs and uruks.
"One...two...three...NOW!" Aman squeezed the others hand and out of them burst a jet of flames and ice into the orcs. They almsot winced at the combination. Ala nodded appreciatively.
"Not bad...not bad at all....ready for another?"

The infantry marched as quietly through the woods of Rivendell as was possible for 20000 people on foot. Elenna sat on Celebdae in front, deep in thought.

"Tindomerel. If I am supposed to be following Tinuviel...she died for love. Well, I shouldn't worry about it now. I am already probably going to die for love - love of Rivendell, love of duty. The battle has to be won. Rivendell is the last Homely House. I can't let it be overrun by yrch for very long."

Onward they marched, towards Imladris. The storm drew ever closer.

Amanaduial the archer

The witches let go of each others hands and Aman drew her sais; the orcs were now close enough to fight with hand to hand. Her eyes however still glowed with silver light and the pupils had completely vanished. She felt exilherated and somehow the waves of orcs still coming onwards failed to scare her. For her own amusement she took a leaf out of out Alas book and shot a jet of fire from the middle blade of one of her sais. The bolt hit three of the leading orcs. She was quite pleased with that-
Then it hit the witch; she was pleased when it hit three. Looking over the army she realised she could take down three thousand and thered still be some. The realisation jolted her as if her own bolt had hit her. She looked at the elves around her trying to hold their nerves. They could never win. Clenching her teeth she raised her sais again and decided her lucky number would be three. As in three hundred. The amount she would at least take down with her.

We are coming lady Amanaduial. The soft determined voice came to her stressed mind.
Where are you Lindir?
Well...turn around...
She felt she could have kissed this mysterious elf as she looked around and saw her salvation. Over two thousand elves were standing behind the three on horseback who Aman recognised as Elenna, Glorfindel and...Lindir.
She heard someone shout beside her and whirled around, ducking as a large orc swung a her with a sword. Slashing him across the throat she flashed a grateful smile at Ala. She was now running in Adrenaline as her sais flashed in front of her...
---------------------------------------------
Lindir smiled as he spoke to Amanaduial. Soon he would actually be able to see this mysterious witch. Elenna had most of the army on foot and they were currently positioning themselves in the trees around the battle, so they could make a surprise attack from all around.
The connection was suddenly broken off and Lindir felt the pain. His horse reared and he looked forward to see many of the elves being attacked. How could he pinpoint Amanaduial when he didnt even have any clear idea of what she looked like? Then he saw an unusual sight as one of the orcs simply evaporated. A red haired elf beside him was clutching her side but then kept on fighting, although Lindir could not see the strange weapons she fought with, just flashes of gold in the air.
He turned to Elenna. "We must attack now!" He said urgently.
"No. We should wait- we ahve the benefit of surprise!"
"But...but...she is hurt! Amanaduial is hurt!" He couldnt understand why it was so urgent; he had never met this witch, didnt know if he would even like her, but he could still feel her mind and feel even stronger the pain in her side.
"No! You cannot sacrifice everything for personal feelings..." Elenna stopped in the middle of her sentence as if wondering what she was saying. "You- no, what am I saying! Lets go!"
Together they rushed forward. All the time Lindir kept his eyes on the strange magical elf, weaving a golden pattern of death in front of her...

Aduchil looked around. Aman was not able to take charge, and the orcs were advancing. He gave the orders:
Fire your arrows!!
Many of the archers woke up and began firing. Soon, the orcs were walking across their own deads. But it wasn't enough.

He then used the trick he had up his sleeve. He checked with one of his soldiers. The trap was ready. Then the archers fired arrows that where on fire. It hid the secret holes filled with oil. Hundreds of them died, and they were now captured between the fire and the advancing elvish army.

"More fire! This battle is really being fought good style!" Ala laughed over the noise to Aman.
"Well I know what this battle will be called; Dagora en Naur- battle of fire!" Aman replied. An uruk charged her and without hesitation she took a throwing knife from her belt, catching the orc through his poorly made chest armour. Turning she saw the elves coming through from the trees and one raven haired elf in particular galloping towards her.
"Lindir!" She whispered, excited that she was actually going to meet him. He looked up towards her and smiled before unsheathing his rapier.
Aman spun around to take an orc beside her until she looked into the forest and to her shock saw a small, familiar figure wandering vaguely aound the forest. Rosa!

----------------------------------------------
Lindir stared at the huge amounts of orcs with shock. Whereas he could see elves falling, it seemed the orcs were endless! He was now fighting side by side with Amanaduial, almost back to back for defence. He noticed she kept glancing towards the forest outskirts and turned to see a small hobbit who had been left at Lorien wandering around. He opened his mouth the speak to Aman, excited he could talk to her face to face at last, but she got there first.
"Lindir! I must go and get Rosa!"
"Hey I-" He stopped. She was already galloping across the field and he soon lost sight of her streaming red hair.

Thrakatburz watched from behind a tree as Amanduial dismounted to help the hobbit who had just appeared and was now wandering around aimlessy, a trickle of blood still dripping from her chin. from a pouch at her waist, Thrakatburz fluidly removed a blow pipe from a pouch hanging at her waist and fitted a dart. It whistled through the air and bit deep into the horse's withers, making it rear and charge away through the trees. As the other elf turned at this commotion, Thrakatburz stepped from behind the tree.
"We meet again, old friend" she said, her voice dripping with irony. "I trust you have considered my proposition. I have present for you which I could not give you earlier." She held out her hand, a piece of charred and blackened wood lay in her palm. "A reminder of your family, and all you have turned you back on; all the pain, all the anger, all the disappointment. All you need now is your hate."

Aman shielded the little hobbit as she saw the dark figure step out from behind the tree. She wiped the blood out of her eyes so she could see who it was, but knew she didnt need to. She would know that figure anywhere.
Thrakatburz smiled and held out a piece of charred wood. Cautiously Aman took it, not sure what she was looking for.
"...all you need now is your hate." Aman stiffened as she remembered the day it happened.
She remembered the flames
the screams
the destruction
the dying elves and the lauging...men?

"Thats right Aman. It was not orcs who killed your tribe. No far from it." She laughed mirthlessly as she took as step forward. "It was elves and men."
Aman looked at her, her face carefully impassive.
"They had strayed. You twisted them-"
"Aye, as I myself was twisted! And who by? Oh, look at that, once again the answer is elves! They werent twisted though were they? I mean, he was king of the tribe, so he was someone to look up to. Didnt stop him killing HIS OWN GRANDSON DID IT!?"
The dark witch was practically shouting, shaking with rage and emotion. Aman tried desperatly to think of a way to counter it.

Then she stopped. What was the use? A terrible calm over took Amans mind. There was no point in fighting it; she had fought it all her life. Yet this twisted dark creature could show her, teach her how to embrace it....how to use it...
She dropped the piece of wood, and Thrakatbuz reached out and held it.

----------------------------------------------------
Lindir watched from behind a tree. He had followed Aman, but now watching her and the dark witch, he was ashamed to feel almost scared. What were they doing, and saying?
He watched the change come upon Amans face as she grasped the others hand. What had this dark creature done to the red haired witch?

Thrakatburz smiled as Amanaduial reached out and their hands met, a ribbon of flame flowing from one witch to the other, a token of their new alliance.
"Aman, No!" Rosa was woken from her dozy state by the actions of her friend and rushed towards them. Thrakatburz turned, the back of her hand hitting the hobbit sharply across her face, sending her sprawling to the floor.
"We must go, Aman" she said, "I'm not Azruk's favourite person at the moment, and I want to be a long way from here by the time he wins the battle." A sly smile spread across her face and the two witches hastily turned their backs on the battle field, leaving Rosa still lying on the ground.

Rosa was knocked to the ground as the swipe of the elf hit her.A trickle of blood started from a gash in her cheek.Rage filled the hobbit and she unsheathed her short sword and ran at full force towards the dark elf that hit her.Thrakatburz turned and just sent her flying back, smacking her back on a tree truck with a thud.
"Stupid halflings!You are not match for me! Even a normal Elf could kill you in a blink of an eye!"She sneared while grabbing Amans hand and guiding her away.
Once they had gone Rosa slide to the ground with a bit of bark enlodged in her hand but no pain came from her wounds.Rosa pulled out the wood and blood dripped down her arm making a small puddle of the red liquid on the forest floor.
"Still no pain?!?!"She thought rubbing off some blood from her gash on her cheek.

Despite herself, Aman couldnt bring herself to laugh with the dark witch as she watched Rosa fly backwards, but neither did she feel any sympathy for the little creature. She was in league with the sursed elves who killed her family so...she deserved it? No, that didnt fit either...all she felt for the Rosa as she lay against the tree, blood trickling from her mouth was plain indifference. She didnt matter...
"How shall we travel friend? Why run when we could do anything!" Thrakatburz turned to Aman and with her newly refreshed senses the witch noticed a flash of panic behind Thrakats eyes.
"Why, let us fly! As eagles of course! The holiest of the Valars birds!" They laughed at the irony of it as they leapt of the ground, changing in mid air and flying into the sky...
---------------------------------------------------------

Lindir leapt out of the bushes as Rosa fell, catching her head to stop it from striking the ground. He felt numb as he lay the small hobbit on a pile of leaves, and fumbled in a waist pouch for a first aid kit. His fingers felt huge and clumsy though and he couldnt grab the equipment. Something fell out and he dropped to get it grasping at the ground hopelessly before stopping completely still.
Slowly he looked into the sky to see the two eagles weaving their way over the tree tops and a tear slid down his pale cheeks...

Rosa turned to the elf and smiled.
"Thank you."She whispered getting up and wiping he blood off her face and hand."But it is not necessary."
She grapped her sword and sheathed it.The elf looked puzzeled.
"I cannot explain but do you know where they are heading?"

Aduchil looked around. The orcs still outnumbered the elves, and where was the commanders? Aman was gone, Ala nowhere to be seen, and Lindir was looking at some eagles. It seemed to him they were losing the battle.

Suddenly, the rage that had once filled his forefather Fingolfin filled Aduchil as well. He jumped into the middle of the battle, swinging his father's sword like a madman. The orcs began retreating, for his eyes were shining a terrible gaze. But the uruks were not easily intimidated. They surrounded him, seeing their chance to kill him when he stood alone.

The dwarven leader looked at the elf who sudenly had placed himself in a stupid position. But he also saw that Aduchil's charge had made a hole in the orcish army's ranks, and he issued his orders. Suddenly, the dwarves filled out the hole, dividing the orcs. Before the uruks could kill Aduchil, an axe was planted in their backs.

Aduchil looked around, and found new hope that they could win.

"AMAN!!!! NO!!!" Ala screamed, as the watched the the dark witch take her friend. She screamed as a new found anger serged her body, it was the undying hate for this witch. Her eyes turned black, and her hands glowed black, as she shot a flame at a few oncoming orcs.
"Where is Elenna when i need her?" She hissed, as Zephyros trampled 2 more orcs.

"So the ragged elven finally have the courage to mount a counter attack," snarled Azruk, " It is about time!"

"They are engaging the forward position of our orc army, my lord." an uruk soldier informed.

"Good! Those useless orcs had best earned their keep in this army."

"Elenna leads a force of 20000 strong or so as our spies report, my lord."

"A paltry number against the might of Sauron, even as we speak reinforcements in the thousands await across the far bank of the Bruinen." laughed Azruk, "Added to the number we have now, we will be invincible.... yet again."

"We have a million orc troops at the ready, and ten thousand of the elite fighting Uruk Hai led by the best warriors of Sauron!" grinned Ornahk, " We have a far stronger army than we had at our earlier assault. Those foolish elves rush on to their deaths."

There is loud laughter as the Uruk troops get ready. And as usual, Azruk astride Azalel, takes the attack from the front. The foward line of orcs would soon crumble under the advancing elf army, but they wil find as they have had before that the Uruk forces are another matter.

To arms!

The orcs began wavering and suddenly, they retreated. Some of the footsoldiers began pursuing, but Aduchil halted them. He didn't like taking charge, but he understood that he had to as long as the other commanders weren't there.

The archers were organized into lines on a hilltop. Aduchil himself took place among them.

"Lindir, you take command of the foot soldiers. Make lines in front of our archers. If they try to make a counter-attack, our archers will kill many of them before they can climb to hill to engage in melee fighting."

Lindir forgot about Aman for a while. Right now, he positioned himself at the front line, in order to take command on case of a counter-attack.

Aduchil looked around, with some confidence that they could win. If just Elenna would come and take charge. He wasn't comfortable having the responsibility.

Elenna and Celebdae galloped out from the forest on Aduchil's left side.

"I've been scouting!" she shouted. "Yet again, they have superior numbers, damn them. But not much superior. Glorfindel is still out there" she gestured. An orc tried to drag her from the saddle, but she cut of his head with one sweep. "Fight on! Lead that platoon into Rivendell!" Elenna gestured to the group of Mirkwood archers. "Get them up on rooves!"

She ran off, fighting her way to where her other commanders were waiting for orders.

Aduchil took Elenna on her word. Lindir was gone, so he issued the orders himself. The elves stormed down the hill and into the valley of Rivendell. A few hundred orcs tried to stop them, but was overwhelmed. Soon, they reached the gates of Rivendell. But before they could attack further, the gate opened and out stormed an army of orcs and uruks. Soon, everyone was fighting, including Aduchil. The enemy outnumbered the elves, but he hoped that reinforcements could arrive so they could take Rivendell and fortify themselves inside.

Elenna saw Tiri fighting blindly, and she rode over to help her.
"Tiri!" Elenna called. The maddened witch turned her head, and then looked back as an orc tried to slice her head off, but she got to his first. 3 more came at her, and she screamed as one sliced a gash in her back. She raged on, and killed them all. The smell of orc flesh got to her nose and ran over to Elenna.
"She took Aman, Elenna." Ala said quietly, but her eyes told more.
"Who took her?" Elenna asked, a bit scared.
"That damn Thrakatburz. But the thing is, Aman went willingly." Ala screamed again, and set a tree to fire.
"Alateriel! CALM DOWN!! We don't need you to start a fire!" Elenna scolded her friend.
"And, i let her go, i watched, and she went, i let her go, and now we are one witch short, and one more enemy is added! ARGH!!" She swore her heart out. "This always happens, every one around me is cursed, or doomed, or evil!! I cant take this!!"
"Tiri, look at me." The witch looked up,"This does not always happen, and people are not cursed, or doomed, becuz of you. Now don't go all insane and scary on me, I need you, so go fetch Zypheros, and ride with me. I may need some help."
Ala did as she was told, and rode up next to Elenna. Yet, she did not feel in place, she kept thinking of what her mother had told her, "Thick as Theives"...

Azruk led a large contingent of Uruks into the battle, this time the elves appeaared more organised and easily cut through the orc wall of resistance. Azruk's dark eyes gleamed in evil glee, at long last a fight worthy of his savage expectation.

Uruk archers lined themselves behind the wall of orcs and let fly arrows. Narcis was sorely missed this day. Elves and Orcs fell hard and fast. Azruk rode in among the forward lines of elven forces, cutting down many. Suddenly he was faced by a brightly adorned elf, with long golden hair flowing majestically around him.

"Glorfindel!" snarled Azruk, an evil grin across his painted face.

"Azruk, you have plundered eno...," before he could finish, a massive fist plowed into his face, breaking bone and tooth at the same time. The majestic elf collapsed in a heap off his horse.

More frenzied elves fell on top of Azruk. The mighty uruk warlord easily fended him off. He felt strong, this was a good day to kill elf. As he rushed forward he found himself standing alone among a field of elven warriors and archers. His orc army had fallen and the rest were in retreat.

The Uruk was dumbstruck as the elves surrounded him. Arrows flew in from all directions and elvish swords rolled toward his neck. Azruk looked in rage at the elves that moved in.

Time moved at a slow pace around him.

Ooc - Let's have the newly converted Aman and Thrakatburz rescue the Uruk Warlord. Aman to prove her self and Thrak to win back Azruk's trust.

Elenna and Tiri rode into the clearing just in time to see Azruk slam Glorfindel from his horse. Elenna started to gallop forward, but suddenly Tiri swerved Zephyros right into her path.

"Get out of my way!" Elenna screamed.

"No! Look - Glorfindel is fine. A little bloodied up, but fine. Fight your enemy later - we need you now."

Tears poured from Elenna's eyes, but she did as the witch said and rode off.

Lindir watched the enemy blindly. Raising his arm he yelled over the commotion to the archers.
"Ready....Take aim..."
The archers strained their arrows ack, each sighting on an unfortunate member of the enemy.
"Fire!"
Hundreds of arrows shot out into the orcs and uruks. Lindir was not violent but right now anything would do to distract him. Raising his arm again he prepared the next wave.
"ready...."

-------------------------------------------------

Aman wheeled against the wind, the breeze whipping back her feathers. The two witches weaved in and out between each other and the tree tops. Glancing down carelessly Aman surveyed the battle below. So much elven death...yes they were paying for the people they had murdered...
Then an idea struck her, a way to truly prove herself and her new found ally.
"Thrakatburz my friend, where was Elrond taken, do you know?" She whispered into the others ear as she flew close. The other witch surveyed her, her eyes suspicious; Aman doubted she fully trusted her yet in case she turned on her.
"I might...why?" Her voice remained calm but she wasnt revealing anything. Aman smiled at the others nature.
"Well, I see a way for ME to prove myself, YOU to get back in his good books and to sort out Elrond, all by giving the Uruk a little present..."

OOC: I don't think Aman and Thrak has time to save you, Azruk.

Aduchil helped Glorfindel to his feet. Azruk had disappeared when a wave of orcs launched a counter-attack.

"Thanks my friend. Come on, let us move forward into Rivendell." Glorfindel rushed forward into the heat of battle.

Aduchil issued orders, and soon a more ordered line of elven infantry marched forward. They were soon fighting all over Rivendell, pushing the few remaining Uruks back. In many of the houses, fighting could be heard, and Aduchil suspected Azruk was trapped inside one of them. But he had no time to look. For when he reached Bruinen, he looked at thousands and thousands of orcs. He quickly gave orders, and soon the elves stood in ranks, with the archers firing behind the footsoldiers. Lindir ran up next to Aduchil.

"What are we going to do? These orcs are more than we can handle, and I doubt that there are any reinforcements around."
"Lindir, you take charge. I have some arrangements I made earlier, and I need to see if they are ready. Have courage. Hopefully, I will soon return. Until then, stall things if you can. The more time you gain, the more time I will have to succeed."

Aduchil said goodbye and ran all that he could towards the forest. He prayed that his message had been heard, for if not, Rivendell would be in great trouble. But then again, it already was.

Azruk's initial surprise now abated, the uruk gathered his senses and retreated. He had under-estimated this elf army and now cursed himself. The entire Orc army had now been pushed back to the walls of Rivendell, but here they fortified the elven city as Uruk archers held positions atop towers and walls and rained down arrows.

Azruk enjoyed fighting at the lowest level, among the ground troops and hated this retreat. He had no inkling of where Thrakatburz was and if she was alive at all. The uruk suddenly spotted a halfling running around on the bloodied battle field. With a snarl he dashed after her.

Rosa, the hobbit, screamed and ran as the massive uruk closed in on her. Somehow Azruk felt that this little creature was the undoing of his army, the reason they were weakened and were falling so easily. He would snap her little neck and drink her blood. Just as he reached out to grasp her trembling little frame, a dozen arrows sank into his arms and torso. With a wild howl of pain and savage anger, the uruk turned and stumbled away, dodging more arrows.

Now a bleeding mess, Azruk made his way toward the walls of the citadel, finding the lifeless bodies of his commanders, Ornahk and Deshnok. He also got word of his troops by the bruinen being cut off by a force of elf warriors. There were no reinforcements to come. His wounds healed rapidly, but his hatred swelled. This was unexpected. The might of Sauron was invincible, his warrior brain found this hard to fathom. Why did his army of superior numbers crumble so easily. But no matter, they still held Rivendell.

Azruk rushed back again, his wounds now fully healed, into the heat of battle. He spotted an elf, one with flowing blonde locks who made short work of his orcs. With a great leap, he intercepted the elf maiden. She was Celebmundoiel, the heir of Galadriel, his hated enemy. She was already wounded and Azruk knew she was at his mercy. But the elf- maiden drew on reserves of impressive courage and strength and put up a good fight. Yet the uruk wore her down, his power and war skills being far greater. Having soon destroyed their weapons they resorted to use their bare hands.

Celebmundoiel inflicted deep wounds on the uruk and fought like a damned hellcat, much to Azruk's surprise, but she tired rapidly as her limbs grew heavy.Her body was sapped of energy yet her defiant spirit urged her to fight on. But the uruk's power was too great for her exhasuted form. With a swift twist of his wrist, the uruk snapped the elf maiden's delicate neck, blood trickled out of her eyes and mouth and she gasped, the uruk let her body fall from his grip, she was dead before she hit the ground. The elves who had witnessed this were awestruck; and then anger seeped into their psyches.

Elenna screamed aloud, and Azruk smirked, " You are next!" He shouted as he once again retreated into the walls of the city. The elf army pressed on as elf and orcs fell in vast numbers.

Holgarth was grateful to the elves for taking care of and healing him. He left Lothlorien a few days before to regroup what rangers he could find. Now with a force of 350 rangers, Holgarth rode towards Rivendell from the oposite side of the Bruinin.
There was a vast army of orcs in their way, but the bold rangers rode on killing any that attacked them. This effrontery of the orcs had gone on long enough and it was time to stop it at the roots.
The Rangers cut their way through the orcs and raced on toward where the elf army was assembled, fending off stray orcs all the while.
Holgarth finally reached where Elenna was waiting, Glorfindel was beside her. Aduchil nodded approvinly at the sight of the rangers and Holgarth spoke, " Elenna, my lord Glofindel, friend Aduchil, these are the rangers of the woods and forest, elf friends all, who have some to help you win this war. Together we will crush the foul minions of mordor."
Elenna smiled, it was good to have the wily rangers with them.
But Holgarth looked around for Aman and Fea, where were they, he wondered and where was the beautiful Celebmudoiel.
War was so depressing.

The Two Witches had easily found where Elrond had been left, but it was even better than they had suspected- the elven lord was not even guarded and they were able to grab the still weak elf quickly, and arm in each of their talons. Aman fancied as she left that she saw hsi suposed guard running towards the glade he had been left in, devastated- well, of course he would be, it had been protected by magic...but short work to the Pair. Aman fancied he was Aduchil.

They flew over the battle scene and the scent of blood made them feel almost high as they flew with the weak elf in their grasp. Barely any on the battle field even noticed the strange sight...

The descended behind some elven huts, almost deserted, but Thrakatburz was experienced and knew that inside was Azruk and some of his few remaining commanders. In a flash they had changed back to elves and dragged the elven lord in the house, the feebly timbers of the weakened door flying into hundreds of splinters as Aman kicked it in. Thrakatburz turned to her with a look of mild questioning on her face. The other shrugged.
"I just wanted to make an entrance." Thrakat smiled approvingly at the younger witch.
The uruks had surprisingly enough noticed them by now and Azruk snarled as he saw the pair; the one with the red hair made him uncomfortable with her dazzling green eyes and the dark one had betrayed him. Aman expected to feel a number of things as she faced her previous enemy; Hate, fear, anger, adrenaline, her dying conscience....anything. But as she faced the Uruk all she felt was that cold disturbing indifference.
"Azruk we have a present for you!" Thrakat dragged forward the now unconcious Elrond...
Thrakat looked sly and smug
Azruk was thrilled; he had the key to sucess

But inside Aman something died...

Lindir breathlessly rode up to Elenna. The commander was mildly surprised he didnt bow, but worried; he was always so polite and quiet. Then she saw what worried her even more; tears glistened in the elfs eyes as he panted.
"Elenna...they...they have...Oh Iluvatar..." Elenna was shocked at the use of the word but waited for him to catch his breath. He stedied himself and stared her in the eye.
"Elenna, they have Lord Elrond."
Elenna gasped sharply and her hand flew to her mouth.
"The scum leader demands to see you Lady. He wants...he wants to negotiate.
"Where is Amanaduial?" Elenna asked the question suddenly. It jarred Lindir- he could not tell her. He lowered his eyes and grabbed her hand. "I...Never mind, you must come."
As Elenna followed the flushed captain, she clenched her fists, muttering slightly to herself. Lindir simply rode on, oblivious to all around him; little did the elf maid know what he was feeling; he could still feel Amans mind, even deeper than she herself could and it cut him worse than any orc blade...

"Well, your not as experienced fighter as I am. Anyway, why are you coming here?"
"I came to say that you are needed in war. Come with me to Rivendell.

Once their, she walked into the first room she saw to see the damage done to the inside. There, she say the body of a female Elf with flowing golden hair, laying dead on the bed. She and Aduchil walked up to her. Fëa burst out crying.
"Celeb! No! Aduchil, It's Celebmundoiel. Azurk killed her. I know it. This means revenge. I will kill him."
Fëa looked in the dresser in that room that had not been destroyed. She got a clean dress out and but it over Celeb's bloody clothes. Fëa then slowly slipped the circlet off of her own head. Night approached quickly as Ala kept and eye on Glorfindel. She had healed his wounds quickly, and together they walked on their horses, and looked for any elf that might be alive, in all the blood and dismembered bodies, both orc and elf.
"Ala, you ok?"
"..." She didn't want to talk, but gave a slight nod. She wanted to kill that damn witch, and then yell at Aman. She was so confused. She had no idea what to do, and she was to weak to do much. The magic she had used that day drained her both physically and mentally.
After a while she finally spoke.
"Glorfindel, I'm scared. Not for me, but for Elenna and Aman. Aman mostly. But, nevermind. You dont care." She rode ahead of him, and searched thru the mess and gore that day had left. But neither found one living elf, and they had lost Celeb that day, a valuable elf.
"I will be back." Ala said quietly to Glorfindel.
"Someone should go with you, don't you think?"
"Your talking to a Black Witch, I'll be fine." And with that she urged her horse into a canter, and vanished into the woods. She came to a clearing, and halted. SHe looked around and listened. She heard no sound, and saw no orc, she was glad for that.
To ease her mind, she took Zypheros into the clearing and preformed a test she had learned when she was young. She was a test in which Zypheros did beautiful movements, and difficult steps. When they finished, Ala heard clapping, "Very well done, my lady."
Calen showed his face, and for once, she smiled.

"I don't understand. Who has him? Where? Why?"
"Azruk has him. He wants to negotiate with Elenna. I am going to, and I thought you would like to come."

Then he rode down beside Aducil and Elenna and was surprised to know that Azruk and his uruks had still occupied a corner of Elrond's house and had him captive. And now they had the audacity to hold negotiations.

" Negotiations? What negotiations," shouted the angry ranger,"We do not negotiate with those ruthless killers. Let us storm their stronghold and slay them all."
'But Elrond is held captive by them," pleaded Fea, she was still crying uncontrollable at the death of her dear friend Celeb, and Holgarth's eyes were filled with tears when he saw Celeb's body.
This made him furious with rage and he almost charged into the area where the uruks held sway, but Elenna stopped him.
'We must do this sensibly, Lord Elrond is weak and we must do all to prevent anymore harm to him. We will attend this meeting and we will negotiate with the demons, but be on guard for any trickery."

"WHAT?"
"WHAT HAPPENED TO MY ARMY?" screamed a frustrated Azruk.

He ran up and down, Elrond being the least of his worries as of now.

"How did such a vast army be overcome by such a samll force of elf?" he asked.

Azruk grabbed Aman,"What witchery is this, tell me, or I will snap your neck."

"Leave her alone," said Thrakatburz coldly, " She has nothing to do with this, it was the halfling who stole your draught."

Azruk punched the walls and groaned.

Aman and Thrak proceed to bind Elrond.

Kurhg, the massive uruk of Troll like proportions stood guard by the door, as a regiment of Uruk archers lined the walls.

The uruk army were now surrouned by elf and ranger battalions as they held thier ground in the house of Elrond. Having conrol of just this place in all of Rivendell, they would not give in without a fight.

Azruk thought hard and the only way out would be to hold negotiations with Elenna.
Once he got her into their camp it would be easy to kill her..... Azruk felt his hands squeezing Elenna's neck and then snapping it, he wanted to kill her so much that he could taste it(cliche), and he would.

"Keep the elf Lord well hidden, if the negotiations fail, and they will, be ready to kill him," Azruk ordered Thrakatburz.

As the uruk warlord grabbed her, Aman thought she was going to throw up. She stared at him straight in the eye and through her unrestricted mind flashed several spells to stop Azruk ever touching her again. When he let she simply snorted insolently and turned back to Elrond. The Uruks back was up, but he didnt make a move.
Aman tried not to look into the elf lords eyes as she tied him up. He had been kind to her....as had other elves...
No! she couldnt think like that! They were all murderers...
Desperatly she tried to distract her mind, speaking to the Lord with as much disgust as she thought she could get away with.
"Will you speak to the elf now? I doubt she will negotiate."
"Neotiate?" Now it was his turn to snort. "Why would I negotiate? Still- we can always turn to alternate means..." His face contorted into what probably passed as some sort of smile and once again Aman tried not to heave. Still, Thrakat had assured her that soon they would be away, leaving the scum behind them...

Azruk felt Aman's disgust and decided he was better off without her. Grabbing her by the neck he was about to snap it off, when Thrakatburz stopped him. She apparently had some plans for the witch yet.

Aman, ran out of the room in tears, gasping for breath. Azruk commanded Kurhg to follow her and keep watch. The large uruk lumbered off. Thrakatburz placed her arms around Azruk's thick neck and kissed the uruk. He returned her kiss. Then he kicked Elrond in the face and threw him into one of his own wine jars and sealed the lid.

The plan was set. The uruks set out to the area where the negotiations was to take place.

"Come out, Azruk! Elenna has arrived." Lindir shouted, his normally musical voice harsh.

Azruk came out of a side chamber, a great wine jug lifted high in his arms.

"Ah, Elenna! How nice to see you. Care for a drink?" He pulled the lid off of the jug and lifted Elrond's bloody head up by the hair. The great Elf Lord groaned in pain.

"Give him back!" Elenna screamed, nearly in tears.

"What will you give for him? Come and talk to me..." he gestured back to the chamber. "Bring your little friends too." He pointed to Lindir and Aduchil. Elenna thought hard. It went against every fibre in her being to negotiate with Azruk, but she had sworn to protect Elrond, and this looked like her only choice.

The three elves turned and followed the massive uruk into the little chamber.

Aduchil breathed heavily, his hand on his swordhilt. He could not remember on any of his many travels to ever have been in such danger before. He noticed the uruks standing guard, and that they outnumbered the three elves many times. If they began fighting, he wasn't sure that they would all get out alive. He noticed Aman, and that Lindir was watching her. But his concern was Elrond right now. If possible, he would jump forward, grab the elf and get out of the chamber quickly. But Azruk was standing in the way. The uruk warlord spoke.
"Now, pathetic elves, what do you give us for the life of your lord?"

"Well, what do you want?" Elenna's voice quavered a little - she knew what he wanted.

"What do you think I want, wench? I want to kill you. Right in front of your whole damned army. Your life for your lord's."

"Done." Elenna stood.

"What?" Lindir and Aduchil shouted. "You can't!"

"Yes, I can, and I will."

"Well, come then." Azruk grabbed her arm roughly and shoved her out of the door, back into the Council Chamber.

OOC: NOBODY is to write the execution or goodbye scenes. I have them written already. I have to go now, but I'll be back soon. PLEASE. If you do, you will be proved to be a very bad person.

The two witches hung back from the lord. Doubting the warlord had noticed they were in the room, they had established a mind link so they would not be noticed at all, although they hadnt used it for a while. Aman sat in disgusted silence, rubbing her neck.
The uruk does not know what he was doing. We will show him. Thrakatburz was the first to break the silence of their minds.
He knew. He knew he should not have leaid hands on me, and if he ever does again, he shall loose his hands!
However, I couldnt help noticing he was not the only one whos hands were going everywhere... Aman glanced at the other, but Thrakat kept her gaze straight ahead. The red haired witch couldnt help noticing her shudder slightly as she remember.
As I said, he is nothing and soon we shall be away. Ah, the party begins...
The Two Witches attention was taken up by what was happening beneath the dark rafters of the roof where they sat.
They listened in silence as the parties 'negotiated'. Then came the bit Aman had almost sensed.
"Well, what do you want?" Aman heard the quaver in Elennas voice as she spoke; they both knew what was coming.
"What do you think I want, wench? I want to kill you. Right in front of your whole damned army. Your life for your lord's."
"Done." Elenna stood.
"What?" Lindir and Aduchil shouted. "You can't!"
"Yes, I can, and I will."
At that moment inside Aman something cracked. The terrible stillness inside her was shattered.
"No." It was a whisper in her head at first, but then it got louder, she was repeating it, out loud. "No. No. No! NO!" She stood, but the other witch grabbed her arm before she jumped. The others were looking up now at the two witches.
"Aman...." Elenna stared at her friend standing in the darkness, horror in her voice as she realised what had happened to the witch...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~
Lindir stared in horror at the uruk as he said the words, then at Elenna as she agreed.
"No!" Him and Ala both stepped forward and shouted, but Elenna held up her hand.
"NO!" Now they all stared towards the gallery and saw the 2 witches on the rafter. It was not a surprise to Lindir as much, as he had heard them conversing, but hadnt believed it. Their eyes met for a moment before Aman jumped back into the shadows of the rafters and all that was left was the sound of her fading footsteps. Elenna simply stared ahead, her eyes blank...was that a tear in her eye....?
It was settled then. Azruk would finally get his hands on Elenna, and that too in front of all the orcs and elves. Azruk slammed the lid of the jar and threw it towards Thrak. A low groan emitted from inside and the elves present winced. Elenna stood impassively. She had waited for this moment since the day Azruk had killed her sister and burned his name on her arm. She had lived that day every second of her life since then, but no more.
"Keep the elf lord hidden until I deal with Elenna, I will then decide what we will do.
As of you two elven trash, depart now if you value your worthless hides."
Aduchil and Lindir took a step forward, but the massive uruk Kurhg barred their way. They stepped back sullenly and Lindir called out,"We will see that this ends soon, milady Elenna, we will be with you all the way."
And they stepped out of the room.
An hour later the stage was set outside in the woods. Elves and Uruks stood in a ring on opposite sides as Azruk and Elenna squared off. It was a clear mismatch as the Uruk Warlord towered over the Elf Commander in more ways than one. She looked like a child in front of his mass. But her eyes gave away her intent as the desire to kill this nemesis burned in them.
Azruk cracked his knuckels and grinned, a yellow toothed grin, but Elenna didn't take her eyes off him, she was ready for his every move. The only weapons decided upon were swords and Elenna stood proud with her blade, Lalaith, named after her dear sister.
Azruk held aloft his enormous cleaver sword, one which had slain elves far too numerous for a count. The tension in the air could be cut with a knife as the opposing forces on either side showed great resolve in holding back from tearing into each other.
The fight began, there were no rules, just kill your opponent. The two warriors clashed. Elenna surprised many with the enormous strength she possessed as she thwarted the Uruks powerful, bone jarring thrusts and sword strokes. Azruk enjoyed himself, he lived for battle. He dicided to toy with the flustered elf maiden. His mistake. As he let his guard down, Elenna deftly drew first blood with a swift slash across his chest. Azruk's eyes glowered and with a backhand swipe he knocked the elf maid down to the ground.
As Elenna lay, blood trickling out of he mouth, Azruk raised his arms and danced around. The Elven warriors urged her to rise up and fight. With a loud yell, she leapt to her feet and renewed her attack. Azruk welcomed it.
OOC - Elenna, carry on part of the battle but don't end it cause I have it all laid out. Nobody else interfere with this fight because you're just watching this, if you do you will be killed.
Hogarth watched helplessly and in rage for the evil uruk, a dog from Sauron's pits, had got what he wanted. This was unfair and they should all attack at once. The rangers and elves had the upper hand in this battle, why did Elenna give in to so low a challenge.
Hogarth failed to notice a deep gash in his side and bled unknowingly. His mind was too occupied to feel pain. He felt tired though.
Aduchil and Lindeir had emerged from the negotiations and told them what had happened and what was going to. Everyone was enraged. First at the loss of Celeb and now at this foolhardy test for Elenna. The Uruks had to be taught a lesson.
Hogarth eyed the large uruk named Kurhgg in the uruk camp and thought if he could fell so large a beast, maybe the other uruks would fear him and all the rangers. He decided to wait till the ongoing contest came to an end and then attack the big lummox who was enjoying this unfair contest a bit too much.
And then all of Rivendell would be cleansed of such vile filth or his life as a ranger and elf friend would be meaningless.
Aman watched in horror from the shadows and jumped as she felt Thrakats hand on her shoulder. Spinning around the other witch saw the reproach in her face.
"We must leave."
Aman shook her head. "No. I will not leave Elenna." Her face was set but her thoughts were scattered like leaves in the wind.
"Now now Aman." Thrakats voice was soft and she spoke soothingly to the younger. "Dont you remember what we said? The warrior maid does not matter. Our bond matters." She held out her hand to Aman and again the ribbon of flame whipped across them. It strengthened Amans resolve; she had said they did not matter and...and...no, they didnt matter.
She let a silver flame whip out of her hands to meet the other witches and saw Thrakat smile. Was that reief? Had she doubted Aman?
"We shall leave now. We must leave now!" Amans voice was almost desperate. No matter how hard her front was, she felt with every blow Elenna took a moment of their childhood together. The other nodded briefly. They had barely anything to pack but Aman had to go to get her bow and arrows, while Thrakat simply said she had a few matters to attend to.
As she left the hall she assumed her passage was concealed as the attention was turned to the terrible fight between Azruk and Elenna, but this was not the case...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~
Lindir saw the flame which passed between the two witches hands and straining his eyes he saw the figures of them. he couldnt hear what they said as they were speaking aloud, but he was alarmed when they left. Lindir hated the other witch for what she had done and what he had heard of her, but he did not know what he felt for Aman; he had felt immediatley attracted towards the red haired witch since he had first heard her voice in his mind, but he now knew of how treacherous she was; his heart should have been turned from her. But was it? He no longer knew.
Elenna was floored by Azruk and he tensed, stepping forward before being shoved back by the orcs between them and the fight. Soon Elenna was up again though. Was the table turning.
He felt desperatly guilty as he slipped out of the hall, but he had to find Aman...

"You ok?" Ala asked.
"Yah..."Fea felt sore all over, but fought it off.
"I'll heal you after the fight." Ala looked again to Azruk and her friend Elenna. She gave a sigh, and watched as Elenna fell. But she sprung back up and managed to strike him in the face with a blow from her fist. She felt helpless, and wanted to help, but this was Elenna's fight, not hers.

Lindir sprinted behind the tents, not caring to be stealthy. Nothing mattered except getting to the elfwitch before it was too late. He neednt have worried- all the orcs were in the negotiations...but then again, that wasnt exactly comforting. He ran, feeling like traitor. As he tore around a corner, he saw the faint eerie glow of magefire from inside a tent and his heart lept. Aman. Slowing, he skidded and walked into the tent.
"Aman!" She froze but didnt turn at first.
"Lindir...I...I...Why are you here?"
He was in no mood to listen. Hurt and confused he stepped towards her. "Well at least Im here with the right side!"
Now she turned and for a moment Lindir was ashamed to find himself tensing up, ready for her to hit him. But she simply looked at him as if he was a child, something like pity shining in her eyes. It tore him apart.

"Dont Lindir. I am not as you knew me. The right side?" She spoke softly and Lindir felt a shiver slide down his back as he realised how like Thrakat she sounded. "What is the right side Lindir?"
"The side that fights for good."
"Good? Nothing is black and white."
"The side that belives in honour."
"Honour among thieves."
"The side that fights for its own people." That hurt. Aman stared at him for a moment before turning from him as if bored, her claok swirling behind her. Tears were now welling up in the young male elfs eyes and suddenlt he felt angry. "The side that doesnt just abandon its own for a murderess witch."He pressed on.
"Dont." She spoke as if she was gritting her teeth but he kept going.
"Who belive in truth and kindness."
"Dont!" Her voice was louder now but still muffled.
"Why?!" He grabbed her shoulder and spun Aman around to face him. She pulled back and he saw tears in her eyes too.
"Please dont Lindir." It wasnt a command now. It was a plea.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~
Aman tried to keep back the tears but now one spilled down her cheek. She also was being ripped apart. Slowly she reached out for Lindirs hand and was surprised but grateful when he took it. Leaning forward she kissed him gently on the lips and at the same time she drew a short assasins dagger from her belt. Lindir pulled away but she held his hand firmly and motioned a finger to her lips. Raising his left hand, she slit the palm diagonally. The blood welled up and he bit his lip as he once again tried to pull away. She then did the same to her hand.
Lindir stared at her puzzled as she pressed their palms together.
"This bond will hold us together." Her voice was calm. "No matter where I am, I will think of you by this scar."
"And I you." His voice was choked as he replied.
The witch smiled as she looked into his eyes. The moment broke when Aman stood and walked from the tent...but she stopped at the door. Lindir looked so hopeful she almost stopped right then. With some hesitation she spoke.
"I...Will you...." She sighed and pulled a small chain from her pocket. "Give this to Elenna. Tell her...tell her Im sorry."
With that she turned and walked to theplace she and Thrakat had agreed to meet. Drawing a shaky breath, she couldnt bring herself to wipe away the tears flowing freely down her cheeks.
Elenna
07-03-2002, 12:19 PM
Elenna stood before Azruk, her head up. The fall had done something to her wrist - she no longer could fight. She looked him in the eye, but suddenly, she no longer saw him. Instead, she was in a dense wood.
The others saw her draw herself up, dropping her sword. A soft silvery light began around her, and her blue eyes seemed to be on fire, as did the stone in her circlet.
Softly, slowly, Elenna began to chant. It took a while to hear what she was saying, but soon they realized what it was - the lay of Beren and Tinuviel.
...Tinuviel was dancing there.
The light of stars was in her hair
And on her mantle glimmering.
Azruk blanched a little. His foe looked different, not small and battered, but queenly. In his heart, a small seed of fear began to take root.
Glorfindel stood to the right of the ring of soldiers that had been formed. He started to walk toward Elenna, and in that instant, Azruk saw him.
OOC: Cimm, you know what to do!
Azruk gaped at the spectre of Elenna before him, she appeared godlike and the sight made the Uruk warlord cringe. He felt nauseous and dropped to his knees.
But out of the corner of his eye, he noticed Glorfindel make a dash toward him. A swift heavy kick in the face quickly floored the blond elf. Azruk jumped up and kicked Glorfindel again, by which time all the elves closing in attacked.
The Uruk Warlord fought like a cornered wild animal. Elven warriors flew left and right from his flailing fists. Watching their leader being outnumbered the rest of the Uruks charged into the fray. Then all hell broke loose.
Azruk, having vanquished all the elves that fell on him, approached Elenna and grabbed her. Lightning bolts seemed to coarse through his massive form and a searing jolt of pain threw him off her. Cursing he jumped up and limped off toward the larger battle in the surrounding woods. He was severely injured and his uruk warriors were being outclassed by the Elves and Men. This was an unforseen defeat, but he could still turn it to his advantage.
Spotting the female hobbit as she hid under some bushes, Azruk quitely moved toward her, an evil malicious grin spread across his face. Meanwhile the uruks savagely battled the elf army. Kurhg, the giant uruk, found himself facing Holgarth, the leader of the Rangers. Elenna, oblivious to all this violence, fell deeper into her trance.
Ooc - Your move Elenna, Whatever you do Azruk intends to hold rosa hostage.
Viking, take the fight to Kurhg.
Rosa, you can run but can you hide?
Aman, are you considering your witch character's redemption. I think the story will be enriched if she or Lindir is killed.
Lindir could not bring himself to leave Aman, and followed slowly behind her, trying to remain hidden, seeking only revenge against Thrakatburz for what she had done to the other witch. Aman stoppped in the allocated place to wait for Thrakatburz, and Lindir waited silently, his body tensed, for the arrival the dark temptress. He did not se her, but felt suddenly cold steel pressed against his neck.
"What have we here?" A cold voice whispered in his ear. "You would do better to be on your guard when you are in enemy territory." Flame danced across the blade of the dagger, stinging Lindir's neck and making him gulp. The dagger scraped against his neck and a single drip of blood quenched it's flames.
"It would be so easy to kill you now and leave your body here," Thrakatburz said watching the blood run along the blade of her knife and feeling it's power coursing through her viens, "but I want you to see what Aman has become. I want you to experience first hand her strength and her shadow." Her voice was malicious, cold and totally without any trace of remorse.
"She will not do it." Lindir croaked.
"We shall see." Replied his captor confidently, thrusting him towards the place where the red-haired elf was waiting.
Aman waited, her back against a tree as she watched the border of the camp from where the other witch would come. Inside her once again that terrible stillness reigned. Occasionally a thought might flicker as to what was happening to her frie- to the other elves, but it seemed to be happening to someone else; why would she care.
Would the charm she had given Elenna work?
How was the battle going?
How were the others?
In reply to these nothing in her responded. She felt that as she had gained respect from Thrakatburz, she has with it lost her soul.
Looking up she saw the witch coming...but with her she dragged another figure. Aman almost smiled. This would take her mind off what was happening inside. After all, it was one of Thrakats favourite past times.
"Aman my friend, look what Ive brought for you to play with!" Thrakat laughed and threw the elf down in front of the tree. Aman smiled in the darkness at first as well. She kicked the figure in the side so she could see his face before stopping in shock. The face was too familiar; jet black hair, pale slim face and brilliant azure eyes. Lindir.
"What the...." Aman stared in horror at him before she got angry. "What in the name of Morgoth are you doing here?!"
She felt Thrakats hand on her shoulder. "Go on my young friend. Blood shall start our new alliance. Start as you mean to go on!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lindir looked at the witch who had just kicked him. He had run over everything that could happen as he was dragged here, but he had never expected to see what he saw now. Red hair. Green eyes. Cynical face.
But it wasnt Aman.
"Go on my young friend. Blood shall start our new alliance. Start as you mean to go on!"
He didnt even glare at the dark evil creature; he couldnt take his eyes off Aman. Her face hardened and she smiled, sending a shiver down his spine. She held out her hand and he took it, standing up.
"Lindir. How are you?"
"Aman." He let out a sigh of relief. "Im all the better for seeing you."
"Oh. Well, we can fix that!" She lashed out with a knife, knocking him to the ground and drawing a thin line of blood across his cheek. The shock and force of it made him stumble and fall to
He stared at her in horror as she looked down at him, the blood glistening on her hand. As she kicked his side he clenched his fists to stop himelf crying out. When he did so, he felt the scar on his palm and looked up hopefully.
The fight went for a while, although he wouldnt fight back. he couldnt fight someone he felt so close to.
As she kicked his side he clenched his fists to stop himelf crying out. When he did so, he felt the scar on his palm and looked up hopefully.
"This bond will make me think of you."

"And I will think of you."

"And I will think of you."
"No, Amanaduial, you will not think of him, unless it is to remember the pain of his death. You may have gained my respect, but you have yet to gain my trust, you must kill him." Thrakatburz breathed quietly down Aman's neck. Lindir did not move, but remained sprawled on the muddy ground, too dazed to try and escape. Aman's breathing was swift and irregular and tears were now dropping from her chin. Thrakatburz put a comforting hand on the other elf's back and her face became soft and reassuring. Gently she wiped the tears from Aman's cheeks.
"It can be hard, I understand, but if you can do this, you can do anything. Take a few minutes to think about this and strengthen your resolve. I'll stay here and watch Lindir." Her voice was so calm and persuasive that Aman, in her state of shock, could not help but obey and turned slowly to walk among the trees.

After Thrakatburz was sure Amanaduial was out of sight, she turned to Lindir who still lay in a pool of blood and churned soil. She bent down to him and took his hand, pulling him up lightly despite his size. He wobbled slightly and she supported him until he had regained his balance. She leaned against a tree facing her captive, her long black dress revealing her marble skin and clinging to her lithe body.
"It does not have to be this way Lindir." She spoke slowly, her face innocent, eyes wide.
"I'll never join you after what you've done to Aman" Lindir's voice was defiant but hushed.
Thrakatburz laughed, a sound like water suddenly rushing over pebbles. "How naïve you are." She took a step closer to him, putting her hands on his shoulders and sliding them up to his neck so that they encircled it, but their caress was tender and not restricting. "You'll die no matter what happens, but if you do what I want, I'll slit your throat, and you need never see Aman again. I could make your last minutes here a pleasure for both of us." She slipped her arm around his neck and ran the finger of her other hand over his chest where his tunic had been ripped. "What do you say?"

Aman sat by a small stream, trying to clear her mind. Soon her breathing slowed down and she took a deep breath, listening to the soothing stream. She looked at the knife she had cut Lindir with and once again she almost felt sick. His blood. She looked at the scar on her hand which had now split open. His blood.
Poisoning her.
She would show him. Yes, the witches would show him. She smiled to herself. Slowly and painfully.

As she walked back to the tree where she had left them she suddeny stiffened. She was used to eavesdropping on the others conversations and felt there to be no wrong in it- Thrakat would do it to her. But the words...
"...You'll die no matter what happens, but if you do what I want, I'll slit your throat, and you need never see Aman again. I could make your last minutes here a pleasure for both of us. What do you say?"
The red head started to burn with rage. So that was how she played it. Aman looked at the split cut on her palm before clenching her fist. A tear fell from her eye onto the fist and she started to shake. This wasnt how she wanted it. And although she could never come back to the old Amanaduial, she would not let this one go any further...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~
Lindir gawped at the beauty standing in front of him, taking in every detail. She was so beautiful and persuasive...her pale skin....the low, slightly slit dress....
His concience cried in a corner of his mind against it, but how could he resist? He knew magic must have been involved, but he still pulled against it...
She leant forward, her lips slightly parted, her head slightly turned to kiss him, and he in return turned...no...no...
The witch jerked suddenly as if something had hit her from behind. Lindir stared at her. Had he really been about to...no, he couldnt have...
Looking up the boy saw Aman raise her flame covered hand for another jolt to hit the dark one with. Lindirs breath was taken away. Her hair flew behind her as if blown by an imaginary wind emanating from Thrakat, the flames seemed alive as they moved up and down her arm and her eyes were glowing silver.
As she jolted a shot out of her hand, Thrakat moved like a snake to counter it with ice. She had been caught unaware though, and was still smarting from the last blow, her shoulder burnt and sore, giving Aman the advantage. A shard of ice broke past the flames though, hitting Amans shoulder. Let the battle begin...
Ala looked at Elenna in awe. She looked so different, and queen-like. Ala tried to move to Elenna, but the orcs kept coming, and Azruk was no where to be found, as far as Ala could see. She took out her sword and with her back against Calen's. She killed orcs here and there, and her face and arms were covered in blood. She looked over and saw Elenna, still shining like a star. Aduchil tried to stay alive. The uruks, although outnumbered, fought savagely and several times was he near death. Glorfindel killed an uruk judt before he was about to hit Aduchil in the back.
"Thank you. If you haven't been so quick..."
Hogarth's fears were realised when the uruks restarted their savagery. They fought like wild beasts, and took many of the elvs and rangers by surprise by their ferocity. Hogarth managed to kill a few before he came face to face with a huge monster of an uruk. Kurgh was his name, but the ranger did not care. It was just another orc to slay.
The fight with this giant uruk-hai was hard, almost impossible, but Hogarth drew on all his experience from his years as a ranger.
The uruk used his brute strength which was immense and Hogarth barely managed to keep avoiding him, trying to use the monster's great strength against him. Then he remembered the dagger that Celeb had dropped in the field before she was killed, he remembered hearing that she had stopped kurgh with it before and fortunately Hogarth had recovered that dagger and it was right here inside his vest. He was pinned against the tree by kurgh and just as the foul orc was about to deliver the mortal blow, Hogarth lashed out and sank the dagger deep in the chest of the uruk. The dagger contained magicks that spread like poison through it's evil blood and it fell backward dead. Hogarth let out a deep sigh of relief but all was not well yet as a shrill cry reminded him.
Looking around, Hogarth saw scenes of brutal violence all around him, there was no sign of Aman or Lindir, and Elenna was using a spell on herself. Aduchil and Glorfindel fought valiantly as did every elf and man against the orcs. Hogarth focused onto the source of the scream and suddenly saw Azruk, and he was carrying a small body that wriggled and struggled against his grip.
The ranger gave chase and tackled the uruk-hai leader. All of them fell to the ground and Hogarth recieved a heavy boot to the head for his trouble. Rosa screamed and got slapped by Azruk, she cried as blood trickled out of her lip. Hogarth jumped on top of Azruk and punched him repeatedly in the face but the monster just grinned and threw him off. Hogarth wished he had Celebmundoiel's dagger of the sun, but it was buried deep inside Kurgh. Yet he had another dagger in his boot. But before he could react three arrows hit him from the back and he fell forward.
Blood spurted out of his mouth and his eyes rolled in his head, he heard Rosa scream and Azruk laugh and saw the uruk pick up the hobbit as she looked pleadingly at him, and walk away. His sight blurred, then everything got dim.... an intense burning sensation overtook him, his breath failed him, his body tensed and spasmed... and didn't move anymore.
Thrakatburz's shoulder burned and feeling the cold of the ice coursing down her arm reduced the pain and brought her new strength, but she knew neither she nor Amanaduial could keep up an attack of this potency for long. While still directing an attack at Aman with her right hand, she reached for her dagger with the left. Still coutering the other witch's attack, Thrakatburz grabbed Lindir and thrust him in front of her, his slim frame just obscuring her own from the blaze Aman was creating. As soon as Aman saw what her enemy was doing, she stopped the flames sprouting from her hands, not wanting to hurt Lindir who was still dazed and confused.
"You can't keep up this magic for long Aman." Thrakatburz's voice said from behind Lindir, her arm reaching around him, placing her dagger against his throat. "Nor can I, but I could manage it up for longer than you if I needed to. We're on the same side, let's not fight about this. We would do much better to save our strength to attack our enemies instead of killing each other." Aman's arms dropped to her sides as the voice of the other witch penetrated every crevice of her mind. "You can have Lindir if you want," Thrakatburz continued, "he means nothing to me." She pushed Lindir forward, still staying behind him. Aman took a few slow steps towrads the approaching elf.
Just as the two were within each other's reach, Thrakatburz threw Lidir to the side and lunged towards Amanaduial, her dagger still in her hand. Aman was caught off guard and Thrakatburz had her in a vice before she could even think of using any magic. "You thought I'd let you get away with attacking me like that?" She hissed in her opponent's ear. "I can get on without some little upstart trying to kill me whenever I try to have some fun. You will die and so will Lin-" Her sentance was cut short as Aman ellbowed her sharply in the ribs and whipped herself away. Thrakatburz was almost instantly back on her feet and threw herself at Aman before she had time to conjure up a defense. Aman had had time to draw her own knife, but was still reluctant to use it against her former mentor. Thrakatburz was not so hesitant and had inflicted several minor wounds before Aman began to attack properly, but by now she was weakened and off balance. She struck an ill-timed blow at Thrakatburz who easily dodged and slipped her dagger into Aman's breast. She withdrew it viciously and watched with contempt as Aman crumpled into a heap on the ground. Confidently Thrakatburz turned to Lindir, wiping the blood from her hands.
"You never answered my proposition."
Thrakat sliced Amans cheek across the cheekbone, one of the many wounds now on her. This threw her off balance and suddenly she felt cold steel between her ribs. She felt Thrakat pull the dagger viciously back and fell to the ground. Gasping she clutched her chest and was horrified to touch her own ribs. She looked up to the witch standing victoriously above her and as their eyes caught and the other smiled.
Her vision seemed blurred and she could hear something strange in her ears, like birdsong. How could it be birdsong in the night in this wood? The other two elves were talking now but Aman could not hear them. What were their names again...what did it matter? What mattered was sleep, the sleep that was coming onto her now...
She forced herself back into reality. Slowly she began to chant, choking each word out.
Morierea, Beikaea, Hyandae en' luhta,nai turamin ...The words came more quickly now and the witchs eyes burned with fire and brimstone. The taller witch spun around, but her movements were slow and as she tried to reply the words were muffled. Aman held her hands clasped together in a seamless cage as if she held something in them. The bones were showing hard against her tense skin as if she held great power. Yala onna en' vilya, Yala rauko,Yala onna en' kemen, Yala onna en' alu... A strange substance was slowing around her hands, like air solidified and yet flowing. Each time she said one of the titles a new elemental joined the swirling mass; air, earth, fire, water, then a strange daemen with glowing eyes seemed to settle itself half invisible on her hands, which were now shaking like her whole body with power. She looked up and the dark witch filled her vision. Holding up her hands the other two saw the suppressed power in it.
"The hurt that was done to me I entrust into thy power oh spirits, to maginify and show...to the one who..hurt me..." She was peaking with difficulty now, but with her last remaining strength she smiled before flinging the ball in the daemons claws at the dark witch. Every one of Amans injuries both physical and mental were maginifed and forced on Thrakat, who writhed in pain. She appeared to be being torn apart before falling still to the ground.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~
"Get away from me dog of mordor." Lindir forced the words out, trying to ignore Thrakats beauty. Outraged, the seductress opened her mouth before freezing.
Behind them Aman was forming her spell and the other two watched in horror...but to Lindirs there was added a certain amount of satisfaction.
~
Aman fell back again, drained, her eyes closed. Lindir ran and knelt by her side. He was appalled by the cuts and bruises covering her and hastily began ripping strips of his shirt.
"Leave it." Amans eyes opened slightly and Lindir saw her eyes had returned to their usual colour although they were slightly misty.
"But...I can help you...Y- you dont have to die..."
"No!" She said more sharply, more as a plea. "No. Please, I dont..I dont deserve...I dont deserve to live...or to love."
A tear slipped down Lindirs face as he realised what she was saying. She held her hand out and he mirrored it with his, the scars tracing each other.
"I cant let you die."
"I cant live. I...I cant. Please, remember me. As long as you remember me, I shall live on."
He put his hand on her wound, feeling her life blood trickling through his fingers. "Blood from your jewelled heart. So hard sometimes, yet so precious. Amanaduial Mircorm- Jewelheart."
She smiled, and reached out for his face. He held her hand against his cheek, the tears rolling onto it.
"Farewell sweet singer, until I see you...in the halls...of...Manwe...." Her eyes misted and closed, but a smile was left on her face.
Lindir sat, her hand still against his tear streaked cheek, tears falling as he rocked slowly in front of his beloved dead witch...

Azruk watched another of them die, "Insignificant," he thought as Hogarth gasped his last breath out. The uruk warlord strode briskly forward with the hobbit slung over his bleeding shoudler, knocking down elves that tried to get in his way. The terrified hobbit, now smeared in her blood and the uruks, kept silent as tears streamed down her pretty face. How she wished she had joined her cousin Frodo when they met in Lothlorien. How she wished she should have stayed home in the Shire. Twice again the uruk fell to the ground, hurting the hobbit ever more, yet he staggered on.

Suddenly Azruk felt Thrakatburz's voice in his mind cry out in pain, then a cold chill followed. He knew she was dead, yet he had no remorse. She had served his purpose. Mounting his horse Azalel, the uruk warlord roughly threw the captive hobbit in front of his saddle and rode off hard. Let those fools sort this out, Rivendell mattered little to him now, as did the elf lord. Remembering that Sauron had some need of halflings, Azruk decided to ride to Mordor. It was a long hard ride getting there but Azalel was up to it. There would be other days when he would kill Elenna.

But no, he was a warrior, not a coward to run away like one. He would wait for her
in the Camp across the Bruinen. He had his hostage, if this halfling was of value to Sauron so would she be to the Elfkind. He then tightly bound and gagged the hobbit lass and hid her by a rabbit borrow near the camp and decided to lay in ambush for he could feel Elenna's positive aura following him.

Ooc - Excellent pieces of work, Viking, Aman and Nev. If and uruk could cry, this one would.

Elenna followed Azruk into the forest as silently as only an elf can. She had somewhat recovered from her spell, but she knew her aura was stronger than usual.

"This time..." she muttered under her breath. "This time, he will not escape me."

On she ran, fearing what he could be going to do.

Aduchil looked around. Azruk had left, as well as Elenna and Glorfindel. But now the few remaining uruks were either dead or had fled. He realised how many had died. Celeb as one of the first. Hogarth had also died, and what about the little hobbit? Was she dead also? He felt sick at the thought of so many he knew were gone. But at least Rivendell was safe now, and Lord Elrond was no more in the hands of the enemy.
"Lindir! Where were you?"
"She's dead, Aduchil."
"Who? Aman?"
"She and the other witch."
How many more was going to die?

Ala and Calen saw Lindir talking to Aduchil, and walked over.
"Has any one seen Aman?? I swear I will kill her when i see-"
"She's dead." Lindir stated bluntly.
"WHAT?!" Ala screamed, "No she can't be, why? how?"
Lindir told her everything. Ala turned her back to them when he finished.
"Now, i Have sumthing to tell you," she said,"The prophecy is coming true." She whispered.

Fëa was sitting on the ground gripping her aching stomach when she heard something about Aman.

"What happened to Aman? Is she with us again?" Fëa looked questionly{sp?} to Aduchil and then to Lindir.

"She's dead." Aduchil answered and lowered his head. "We all know it now."

Fëa grabbed Aduchil's waist. "She was a fool. She should have stayed with us. She wouldn't of died! But no. She had to be like her MOTHER!." Fëa's eyes turned red and she threw a rock at a tree. The tree caught on fire.

Aduchil looked disturbed at Fea. Aman's mother? Something was going on that he did not know.
"Fea, calm down. Such things happen, and it isn't always somebody's fault. We have all lost friends and family. But think of those who survived instead. At a time like this, when we have barely stopped this invasion, we have to think of the future now. There is no good in dwelling in the past."

Lindir dismounted from his horse, his eyes blank. Aduchil ran over to him, but he barely saw or heard the elf. Ala also saw them and wlaked sharply over. They bombarded him with questions, but he just looked at them, his face devoid of emotion.
"Shes dead." He interrupted Ala bluntly midsentence. She stared at him for a moment as if to see whether he was serious.
"What?!" Ala was angry now. He told them everything and as he did so he removed a blanket from the back off his horse. Underneath lay Amanaduial Mircorm, dead. Then he slipped something off his finger. He held it for a moment, feeling its smoothness and its power.
"I also found this." He held the Ring of Water up to the light. The elves gasped.
"Where did you find that Lindir?" Fea said breathlessly.
She was dead. Lindir stood, unsteady on his feet, his eyes blurred with tears. He looked from one witch to the other, and realised Thrakats face had softened. Underneath he saw the elf Aman had talked about, the one who had been happy and good. Now in death she had surfaced one last time.
He saw something glitter on her finger, as a flash of the oncoming sunrise caught it. Slowly he picked it up; a ring. The Ring Of Water, which all this had been fought for. Thrakats hand was on it, as if she was about to take it off and give it to someone. Someone she trusted and felt her almost equal in power. Aman.
Lindir snapped back to reality from the memory as Ala repeated Feas question.
"I...I..." He wanted to say how the elf had betrayed them, how evil she was, but he remembered her face, softened in death and made up his mind. "I found it on the ground. An orc must have dropped it. So careless..." He stopped, half turning away as a tear slipped down his cheek. He couldnt tell them the witch had had it. She was simply careless when it came down to it, like anyone else. Carless with life.

Onward Elenna ran. It seemed as though her footbeats became a song, a voice calling out to her "Tindomerel!" in the tones of those who had been killed; her sister, Amanaduial, Celeb.

"Elenna! Elenna!" This was a voice she recognized. Glorfindel, riding Asfaloth, galloped out through the trees. "Wait!"

"I can't, my love. I am chasing Azruk. We have a bargain to keep."

"Dammit, El! You can't throw you life away like this!" He slid off his horse and seized her arm.

"I have to. I swore to protect Elrond and Rivendell with my life, and I made a bargain with Azruk. Now let me go..." she pulled away.

"Elenna, he'll kill you."

"Thank you for the vote of confidence."

"Get on Asfaloth. I'm coming with you."

Together, they rode off into the woods, chasing the Uruk.

Little Rosa whimpered in her place of confinement, bound, gagged and severely bruised. She was never this frightened in her life. She could see Azruk sitting and savagely eating a roasted animal... she couldn't clearly see of which kind... and wondered if the evil uruk couldn't find any more food would he eat her too. Her blood froze when she saw Azruk look in the direction where he had hidden her.The uruk glared at her and then grinned his toothy evil smile and tossed a well chewed bone at the burrow. The stench of which was henious and Rosa tried not to breathe for fear of throwing up.

Azruk got up and stretched him limbs and shouted aloud "Once I stood above the crowd, held myself up tall and proud and now I am down on the ground..... amidst the dirt and the slime.... what would you have me do?"

"Elenna... How you have grown, Elenna..... Go on home....for your death awaits you here... and of everything you hold dear..."

And he continued his psychotic chanting knowing well that Elenna could sense these thoughts for he knew she was on her way to where he was. His captive hobbit cringed in fear.

The smell of rotting flesh came from the bones Azruk had thrown her and the smell was making the contents of her stomach feel like coming to her throat with every breath in though her nose or mouth.

As they entered the clearing, the voice got louder and louder, chanting this over and over. Elenna mentally screamed back "We have a score to settle, Azruk. And I WILL go home, after I have watched your lifeblood drip on the grass!"

She both heard him laugh and felt it in her mind. "Then come, Elenna! See what I have for you!"

"Tiri, what are we supposed to do now?" Fea asked.
"Wait..." She replied. She again turned her back to them and walked out onto the bloodied feild. She kneeled down in the middle, and prayed for all the souls that were lost this day.

"Is she ok?" Fae asked.
"I don't know." Calen turned his head to look at her. He started to walk, but Aduchil stopped him.
"Let her be." He said sternly.
A while later she came back over to the small group.
"Elenna, has gone after Azruk-"
"WE KNOW THAT!!!" Fea cut Ala off.
"And Glorfindel is with her. He is chanting, but I can't make is out, all I know is that it is DARK." She sat down, and leaned against a tree, and closed her green eyes.

Aduchil paced back and forward, in doubt what to do. Go after Elenna and Glorfindel? They were both his friends, and he couldn't just let them die. No, he decided. This was Elenna's fight, not his. If Glorfindel was going to assist her, he was not to interfere. But this assault on Rivendell had proven to him how weak Eriador was, how easily the enemies of Elves could come and threaten everything. He thought of his youth, the few years in Lindon. The plan he had thought of earlier came back into his mind. If he could make it reality, maybe Eriador would not be threatened again. He decided to make something useful and talked to many of the soldiers. Many of them agreed with him, and soon they rode off, bearing messages.

Lindir ran towards Aduchil.
"She has gone?! Elenna has gone?" He seemed desperate.
"Yes shes gone. Shes going to fight the Uruk alone. Its ridiculous it really- Lindir?"
But the other elf was already swinging himself into the saddle of his horse, strapping his sword onto his belt as he went.
"Lindir, what are you doing!" Aduchil was exasperated. "We need all the help we can get here, and both you and the horse need to be messangers to get help!"
"Im going after her Aduchil. Please dont try to stop me." Lindir seemed calm but his face was impatient. Amans mind link with Elenna had passed to him and he could feel her...and Azruk.
...Elenna...go on home...for your death awaits you here...and of everything else you hold dear..."
"We have a score to settle...i will watch your lifeblood drip on the grass..."
Lindir shuddered as the Azruk laughed.
And just as hes said, everyone she holds dear is being taken... Lindir shook away the grim thought and shook Aduchil off. The older elf tried to grab the reins but Lindir reared the horse and set off at a gallop.
"Lindir! Ill..." Aduchil stopped mid-yell and sighed heavily.

The prophecy....
Elenna sat on the grass at the edge of Rivendell, her eyes on the fortune teller. The grizzled old man inspected the little elf maids hand, his eyes seeming to pick up everything.
"I see much here young one...."
"Oh, Ive already given you my pocket money, I cant pay anymore! You promised!" Elenna was excited. She had seen the other elves go to this old man and the extremes of their reactions. But still all she saw in it was a bit of fun.
Another small elf wandered over. Her eyes were deep and more solomn, and although she smiled and laughed merrily, several burns ran over her face. Th fortune teller looked at her, his eyes puzzled as if he saw more than a young elf.
"I wonder who it will be who pays though my young friends..." He murmered looking back to Elennas palm.

"Come Elenna, I am waiting for you..."
Lindir desperately made his horse go faster. It was a human horse and didnt respond to elvish commands so he had to kick it, something he resented. The Uruks horrible laughter filled his head again and he tried to shut it out, shuddering. He had been riding solidly for almost an entire day and ached all over but had to go on. He couldnt even see Elenna and Glorfindel yet, as it was hilly land; they could be 1 km away or 100 km away for all he knew.
Shaking his head he tried to clear away the sweat in his eyes...and the thoughts in his head. He hadnt had time to properly think and it was all coming back....everything....
Lindir shook his head again to shake away the thoughts and reached the top of the hill, dismounting to drink from a small spring.
The raven haired elf could see everything for miles around. Beautiful forests, winding rivers, occasional animals wandering over the land, even, in the far distance, Rivendell itself. But in front of him...
Gasping he saw two figures dismounting a horse. Straining his eyes he saw one was male, one female, and coming towards them, hideous even at a distance was the miniture figure of an Uruk...holding something, a small wriggling bundle, like a child.
No not a child. A hobbit.
In a flash he mounted the horse again and the horse seemed to sense the urgency, racing ahead. But there was a terribly sense of foreboding inside the young elf...he wasnt going to get there in time...

Azruk hid high up on the tree, watching Elenna and the other's appraoch for some time now. They hadn't sensed him yet, he would have the element of surprise. Soon they were directly under his hiding spot and he was poised to strike; two well aimed blows would mortally wound them both, then he could finish them at his liesure.

As he made his move, a painful cry for help attracted the elves and they moved... Azruk fell with a loud thud, on his face. The two elves whirled around to see a huge, bloody nosed uruk quickly rise to his feet. Instinctively Glorfindel moved in front of Elenna, his natural reflex to protect her. But a huge fist rammed into his midriff causing him to double up, another fist followed the first into his face and floored the elf. Not taking any chances, Azruk swiftly kicked Elenna in the chest, the already weakened elf maid flew headlong and landed onto the place where the hobbit lay hidden and screaming for help. Azruk whipped out his dagger and slashed a six inch long cut high into the blond elf's inner thigh, rendering the muscle and the nerves useless. It would be a long time before that one would walk agian. He left the wailing elf alive for he wanted him to witness Elenna's death at his hands.

Elenna lay stunned and unconcious near the hobbit lass who screamed even louder to revive the elf, Azruk smirked and swaggered over to them, licking the blood off his dagger and fingers.

Ooc- Elenna, invoke your devinities or die.

Slowly, carefully, Elenna got to her feet. Her chest felt like it was on fire, but the sight of Glorfindel lying on the forest floor bleeding gave her a small burst of strength that she didn't know she possessed. Azruk smirked as he saw her limp towards him, but quailed a little as he saw the battlefire burning bright in her eyes. He thought he heard a voice behind him whispering "Tindomerel!" but he did not understand the elvish word. He turned back to Elenna.

"It's over, Elenna. Your home is broken and your lover lies helpless. Your death is near! Give yourself up, and I might make your dying easy."

To his shock, Elenna laughed, a terrible strained sound. "If you think that Rivendell is broken, you couldn't be farther from the truth. The dark power will never overtake the house of Elrond. Now fight!"

She raised her sword, it's blade glittering strangely blue. Azruk grinned. She could not possibly defeat him. She was weakened from a long fight and much grief. They squared off, Azruk's black sword and Lalaith nearly point to point.

Azruk slashed away at the dimunitive and battered elf maid, his blows were heavy and fast. Elenna, aided by some devine intervention, barely managed to avoid them. Azruk grew frustrated at this maiden's resilience and his frustration led him to make a vital mistake. He lunged for her, using all his might and yet something swiftly carried her out of his way.

Elenna didn't need a second to deftly strike at the uruk's exposed face. Lalaith, her bloodied sword, sank deep into the uruk's forehead. Making low gutteral sounds, Azruk's massive bulk tipped over and he fell flat on his back. Groaning in agony and surprise he watched the elf maid limp over to him, her dagger drawn. She knelt over the paralysed behemoth and proceeded to slowly carve letters across his deep, heaving chest.

Slowly, as she carved, Elenna began to speak. She was gasping, and had lost a lot of blood from where the uruk had landed some blows with his sword.

" THis E is for my sister Lalaith, who you killed. This L is for all of my companions; Amanaduial, Celebmundoiel, Hogarth, my horse Celebdae, and all the rest who have fallen fighting you this day. This E is for Glorfindel, who lies there, bleeding out his life from where you struck him down. This N is for Rivendell, which we win back but at great cost. This N is for the prisoners you have kept and killed while you have been here..." she trailed off for a second, a tear dripping down her face, but a fire still smouldering in her eyes.

"This last letter, A, is for me, and for all of the scars that you have left on my body, mind and heart that I shall bear long after you are gone."

"Yes. Long after - in the grave!" Azruk said, and with the last of his strength, he drove his sword into the elf-maiden's chest. Laughing a little, his eyes rolled back up into his head and he died.

Elenna, gasping, pulled the great black sword from her body. Then she crawled, bleeding and broken, over to where Glorfindel lay. He was pale, and she could see no signs that he still lived. She lay down, curled up against his still body. "So you have gone before me, my love," she whispered. "I hope you saved a seat for me in Mandos's hall." And with that her pain overcame her, and the bright forest went black.

Aduchil and Feä came to the battlescene. Lindir was already there, trying to tend to Elenna and Glorfindel's wounds. Lindir looked up with tears in his eyes:

They walked back to the scene, hand in hand, and saw Lindir tending to the wounded elves. Fëa heard a slight muffling noise in the bushes, behind a tree. "Rosa!" Aduchil yelled.
They ran to her and unbound her arms and legs, and ungaged her. "What happened?" Fëa asked.
"Azurk tied me up. Are Elenna and Glorfindel and Lindir Ok?" Rosa panted.
"Yes. Lindir is healing them." Aduchil answered.
"Did we win?" Rosa asked.
"Yes, Elenna has killed Azurk. Rivendell is ours, and Father is assemling a group to help clean the battle area. We have won!. And," Fëa laughed. "I'm going to be a queen! Aduchil asked me." Fëa and Rosa looked at Aduchil and he blushed. Fëa kissed and hugged him, and Rosa gave him a slight squeeze.
"Come on Rosa. Let's go." Aduchil grabbed her little arm and the three ran.
They came upon Azurks dead body, and Fëa reached into her belt pouch, and pulled out her small dagger.
"This is for Celebmudoiel, my cousin." she stabbed him. She stuck the dagger up in the air again, and plunged it into him. "This is for Amanaduial, the one you tried to bring to your side." A third stab was next. "This stab is for Hogarth, a friend to all."
Again she stabbed him. "This is for my father, the one you tortured." Another stab came. "This is for all of Rivendell, the city you couldn't capture."
"This stab is for Lindir, Elenna, Ala and Glorfindel, the great warriors."
"This last plunge is for the whole Elven army and all of their allies." Fëa grabbed her dagger out of Azurk and wiped it on her sleeve. Her eyes were full of fury. Then she turned to Rosa and Aduchil. "Come, let's tell Lindir our good news!" She said to Aduchil, and Rosa laughed.
They ran towards Lindir, who was still healing the great Elven heros.

OoC- Daniel Telcontar, Elenna, I think we should start thinking about that RPG that takes place after all of this. With Fëa, Aduchil, Glorfindel and Elenna. Remember? PM me with ideas!

Elenna was running through a dark forest. All around her, she could hear voices. The voice of her sister, screaming. The voice of Celebmundoiel dying. Glorfindel's moans of agony. Amanaduial screaming "No!"

And among all these sounds, she could hear the laughter of Azruk and the trees whispering "Tindomerel" in their soft voices.

"Nooooo!" Elenna screamed, pressing her hands to her ears. Then suddenly, the forest ended, and Elenna found herself on a great golden plain. In the distance, a white hall loomed up. Away from it rode a maiden on a great white horse. She came towards Elenna, who stood up.

OOC: Elenna's having an out of body experience. She'll be back soon. Keep healing her!

"Noooooo! Why are you here?"
Elennas spirit looked up to see a swirl fantastic colours materialise in front of her in the familiar form of the witch she knew so well. Tears seemed to spring to her eyes, although it was impossible in this incorporeal form.
"Amanaduial...I never thought i would see you again...-"
"Well you shouldnt be!" Elenna was stunned at how angry Aman seemed to be before she saw thin streaks of silver running down her dead friends cheeks. "You...you cant be. Dont you understand? If you give up, all this will have been for nothing. I will have been for nothing. Please dont let this happen!"
"But Im tired. Tired of pain, tired of losing everything around me, tired of...tired of life!" Now the silver streaks ran down her cheeks too and the glow in Amans silver eyes softened. She spoke more softly now. "Elenna do you remember when Azruk nearly killed me on the battlefield?"
"yes..."
"And you called me back, risking even your life to save me?"
"I...yes..."
Aman began to step back into the blinding glorious ligth behind her again. "Well now its your turn. Can you hear it?" Her voice was almost a whisper as she cocked her head to one side. A faint call came from all around seemingly and although the reluctant warrior tried to ignore it, she couldnt block it out. Lindir was calling her back.
"He is singing to you my friend. He calls you with his gift from deep in his soul."
Elenna turned to Aman, now more than half obscured by the blinding light behind her. The witches eyes were glittering as she spoke to her friend.
"Go brave one. Hear the call of Lindir and heed it."
"I dont want to leave you!" She started walking towards her the witch. Aman held out her hand to her.
"Goodbye Elenna. Be strong. Live. For all of us...." Elennas hand touched Amans only for a milisecond before she was whisked away back to the land of the living.
------------------------------------
"Elenna! Please...you cant die....you cant..." Lindirs voice was desperate as he shook her shoulder with his bare arm. Glorfindel lay to the side of them, unconcious but stable, his thigh wrapped in Lindirs sleeve, Aduchil watching over him. Lindirs raven hair fell into his eyes but he didnt heed it as he reached out to feel Elennas wrist, feeling her pulse pump painfully slowly.
Thud..thud....thud.......thud...........thu-
"No." Lindir whispered the word at first. "NO! Please, dont do this...for me...for Aman...no..." She was gone. The singer clenched his teeth together. He had lost Amanaduial, there was no way Elenna would be lost as well.
Lindir called up the energy inside him that he had felt when Aman had died in his hands. A slow trickle of light passed from his hands as he placed them on the wound on Elennas chest. Letting his mind drift back to his home the golden wood he remembered a song he had learned. The slow melody poured from his lips, his voice smooth and flowing.
Beneath one of his hands, slowly, fitfully...Elennas pulse was returning...

Fëa, the new Queen, saw Lindir healing Elenna, and heard the soft song that Lindir was muttering.

Aduchil grabbed her waist. "I think she's going to be Fine."

Little Rosa heard and grabbed Fëa's leg. "Is that true Fëa?"

She was uncertain, but to keep Rosa happy she said, "Yes, Rosa. She will be fine. And so will Glorfindel." Fëa looked down and Lindir, Glorfindel, and Elenna down on the bloody ground.

When Elenna finally opened her eyes, she was laying in her own bed at Rivendell. Her first thought was "where am I?". She didn't realize she had spoken aloud until she heard a familiar voice.

"In your chamber, El. Where did you think?"

"Glorfindel? I thought you were dead..."

"Well, I could say the same to you, my love. You have lain here for about three weeks, near to death. At several points I thought you already sat in Mandos's hall."

"No. Amanaduial told me it was not yet my time, and then I heard Lindir..."

Glorfindel struggled to his feet, and Elenna could see that he leaned heavily on a cane made of some gray wood. His leg was wrapped in a white bandage. He saw her eyes on the wound. "A little souvenir from Azruk. I'll be fine in time for," he trailed off.

"In time for what?" she asked, instantly curious.

"Well, Estel is wedding Arwen Undomiel in Gondor in a few weeks. A party is riding out from Rivendell next week. By then, Lindir says you will be well enough to accompany us." Elenna's face lit up. "ANd many wish to see the saviour of Rivendell in person," Glorfindel continued. "Now go to sleep, or Lindir will chop my other leg."

Elenna smiled, and complied.

Fëa came running into the room with Aduchil slowly following behind.

"Has she awoke yet?" Fëa asked Glorfindel.

"Yes, I just told her about Estel and your sister Arwen's wedding. I told her to go back to sleep." Glorfindel didn't know that Elenna wasn't asleep yet and heard everything.

"She's been asleep for three weeks! She doesn't need to sleep anymore!" Aduchil grabbed Fëa and told her to calm down.

Elenna slowly opened her eyes. "Fëa? Aduchil? Hello." She slowly said.

"Guess what!" Fëa chuckled.

"What?"

Fëa chuckled under her breathe and excitedly said, "I'm going to be queen of Lindon. Aduchil asked me the question bake at the battle scene. So you might be going to a joint wedding!"

Elenna smiled, laid her head down, and drifted to sleep.

A week later, the party set out from Rivendell to go to Gondor. Elrond, still a bit ill, rode at the front. On his left rode Arwen, looking euphoric on the back of her gray palfrey. On his right rode Elenna. Her horse, Celebdae, had fallen in battle and she had not had time to choose a new one, so she rode a chestnut brown mare with good manners. She missed her big rangy stallion with his high spirits and strange mannerisms. Next to her rode Glorfindel on Asfaloth. His leg still hadn't healed, and it would be quite some time before he would run lightly, but he also was joyful at Elenna's recovery.

Behind them rode the rest of the party - Aduchil and Fea, Alatiriel, and even Rosa on a small pony.

Lindir sat on a window seat near the front of Rivendell, leaning against the frame as he watched the party leave. The young elf had decided not to go, despite Elennas persuasion. Sighing he leant his head back against the frame and closed his eyes. The last few weeks had been so hectic; they had found so much and lost so much. Friends and enemies had been found and lost, secrets uncovered and dreams shattered, but hopes and lives also revived. Slipping into a half sleep he let himself drift...
and found himself in a strange bright place. Thta is if it could be called a place, for his feet barely touched the springy grass, and the sun shone from all around, causing everything to shine with radiant light.
Nearby he saw a tree, its silvery branches rippling in a pleasant warm breeze. Below it he saw a few figures sitting or standing. One, with her back against the tree laughed, he voice like silver as she watched two of the others practising sword fighting.In the utmost branches he saw another sitting, one leg dangling from down, watching the others. Her head turned although Lindir couldnt see her expression. The scene seemed to stop and he was in front of her, seemingly in the air. Her red hair shone divinely, her green eyes sparkling.
"Why are you here Songbird?" Her voice rang like silver trumpets. "Your time has not come, like Elennas."
Lindirs tongue seemed stuck to the roof of his mouth. When he eventually found his voice he could only manage one surprised word. "Aman?!"
"What do you think? Of course!" She chuckled paused and licked her fingers as if shed forgotten something. "I almost forgot. Here..." Opening his fingers she pressed something into his hand then closed them so he couldnt see it.
"A last present from me. Take it with pride beautiful songbird." Kissing his hand she faded away...
Sitting up with a start Lindir almost fell of the windowseat in shock. Frowning he saw his hand was closed in a fist and felt something inside it.
"It couldnt be..." He murmered to himself. Taking a deep breath he opened his hand and his azure eyes widened and his face broke into a smile as he saw what was inside; a thin delicate silver necklace, the chain made of tiny exquisite silver leaves. And on the end of the chain, its small obsidian head pushed out and its beak opened in song was a tiny raven.
Lindir examined itwith delight, astonished for a moment.
"A last present from me...take it with pride beautiful songbird.."
The dark haired elf slipped it around his neck, its catch making a silvery ting as it fastened. Looking out the window he noticed the riders were not out of sight yet. He hesitated for half a second before springing up and racing towards the stables.
"Wait! Elenna, Glorfindel, wait for me!"

"Well done my friend. You have avenged your sister, and yourself." Ala smiled at her friend.
"I have, and I have saved Glorfindel." She had a huge smile on her face.
"I told you he wouldn't die." Ala said. She looked up at the sun, and pulled her black cloak around her head.
"When will we arrive?" Fea asked Ala.
"A few days time, mabey more, it all depends on how fast we ride. And, congratulations Fea, or should i say my Queen instead?" Ala cocked a smile.
"Call me what you will my friend."

Azruk's fallen body, now a rotting, vermin infested vulgarity lay where he was struck down... no memorial in stone stood for this once great warrior... nay, no memories carved in stone could be ever greater than the one's he burned into the hearts and minds of his adversaries.

Finally, the company arrived at the gates of Minas Tirith. They were scarred with battle, and several guards stood before. Arwen and Elrond had stopped in Lothlorien, and would be arriving with the Lady Galadriel and Lord Celeborn. So only a few remained of the group that originally started from Rivendell - Elenna, Glorfindel, Lindir, Fea, Aduchil, Alatiriel, Rosa, and a few others.

"Stop! Who wishes to enter this gate?" shouted a voice from the wall.

"I am Glorfindel Goldenhelm. I ride with the Lady Elenna Tindomerel and the King of the Noldor, Aduchil son of Gil-Galad. Your king will be expecting us, even if you are not."

The gate swung open and a company of Gondorian soldiers came out, wearing full ceremonial gear. "We have heard of your coming, Lady." one of them said to Elenna, as they escorted them inside.

Rosa smiled as she closed her bag and pushed her short sword into it's sheath.
Scars of the physical and mental kind still showed and where still as like open wounds then scars.
The adventure had been quite enough for the young hobbit and her heart longed to go back to the Shire and see her friends and family again yet the land and the things she had been though would never be forgot.
So,after long consideration, she decided it was time to go back to there her heart longered for and always was.

Aduchil rode into the city with a joyful heart. He had done his part for Rivendell, and received his rewards: Feä and Lindon. Elenna was happy with Glorfindel, and he was going to see his old friend Estel once again.
Could life be better than this?

Rosa turned for one last look at the last homely house of Rivendell. Her last and only adventure had come to a close and Rosa was, in a strange way, sad. She had made many friends and she was sad to leave them all and go back to her friends and family in Hobbiton.
She would miss the Elves most of all.

Lindir saw the small hobbit walking away from the party, her bags packed. Remembering Amans friendship with the sweet young hobbit, and his own attachment to her sweet kind childish nature, he walked out the gates after her.
"Rosa!"
The little hobbit turned to see the raven haired elf walking after her. As they met, Lindir crouched in front of her so as not to make her feel as small.
"Rosa Baggins, you didnt tell me you were leaving just yet!" His voice was mock serious but his azure eyes twinkled.
The hobbit laughed. "Well, I was obviously trying to get away from you as soon as possible Lindir!"
"Well in that case, Im going to have to punish you! How about somewhere along the lines of...going with you to the shire for a while?"
"Oh terrible! Im sure I wont be able to stand it! Youll definitley have to carry it out!"
Both of them dropped the solemn faces, breaking into smiles as Lindir leant forward and hugged Rosa. Mentally he informed Elenna of his departure.
"Of course go Lindir. You deserve a break! How will we manage without you though?"
"Well, Im afraid youll have to Lady- I mean, Elenna. Until we meet again, farewell."
"Farewell Lindir."
Taking Rosas hand, the pair walked off in the direction of Hobbiton...

Fëa quickly turned Condelia around and waved at Lindir and Rosa.

"Goodbye Lindir! Goodbye Rosa! It was Fun! An râd atrado ad!" Fëa heard Rosa yell 'What?', so she translated: "To paths cross again!" Aduchil waved goodbye and told Fëa to hurry along.

Bye Fëa!" Rosa yelled.

"Goodbye My Queen! Uh, I mean Fëa. Until next time."

Elenna stood on one of the scarred battlements of Minas Tirith. Aragorn had finally wedded Arwen, and now it seemed that everyone else's future was falling into place.

The week before, Glorfindel had met her next to the White Tree, newly planted.

"I have been meaning to talk to you since Lorien," he said, removing something from his pocket. It was a ring of twisted silver, set with a light blue stone. "Will you wed me, he that you have rescued time and time again, and come to dwell with me?"

"Of course!" Elenna said, and Glorfindel smiled and put the ring on her finger. The she continued, "On one condition."

"And what is that?" he asked, suddenly looking worried.

"No embroidery. If you want flowers on your handkerchiefs, you do them yourself."

They had both laughed, and gone in to tell everyone that they were now betrothed.

But Mithrandir met them at the door, and congratulated them before they had even said anything. "It took you long enough," he said. "And I have a wedding present for you, for you must be married very soon. Within the week, I would say."

And they were. Everyone attended their wedding, before the White Tree. Alatiriel and Lindir stood with the couple, as their First Friends. And when they had said their vows and were forever joined, Gandalf "gave" them his gift.

"Here is a friend, Elenna, whom you have long missed." he said. Out from the crowd walked Therin. Elenna gave a cry and embraced him.

"He has recently come from Fangorn Forest, Elenna, where the dwarves have finished a great building project. As you know, Treebeard" (Elenna had been told of the great Ent) "can no longer watch his wood as carefully as he might like, for he has agreed to also guard Orthanc, even though Saruman is gone. So new guardians of the wood must be appointed." Elenna didn't understand.

"You and Glorfindel are to go and dwell at Wellinghall, in the Forest Fangorn, you silly girl!" Therin said.

They were to ride out the next day. Tiri and Lindir were accompanying them, along with Elenna's new horse - Cullhach, the wedding gift of Aragorn.

As the sun came up over Minas Tirith, Elenna said quietly to herself "And so another great tale comes to a happy ending."
