I'm curious if any of my fellow Downers have made the trek to Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, U.S.A, to view the original handwritten manuscripts for "The Hobbit", "The Lord of the Rings" and others.
I happen to live within a relatively easy distance, and I hope to someday go and view them (you have to use microfilm).
If any of you have seen them, is there anything particularily interesting to discover from them? I'd go just to have a look, because of course I live close enough, but I'm just wondering...
If you have no idea what I'm talking about but are interested, look Here (http://www.jsonline.com/Enter/books/jun00/tolkmu11060900.asp) and Here (http://www.jsonline.com/Enter/books/dec01/6951.asp#onwis_top) for a couple of articles on the subject.
