Command

I just finished reading FotR and i noticed that Gandalf says he had to use "a word of Command" to stop the door in Moria from opening. And then later, when Boromir is giving his spiel about what he'd do with the Ring above Parth Galen (i think), he mentions "Command" in a sentence where no capital is needed.

Any ideas what Command is?
Any at all?

Based on the Moria context, trying to shut the door against the Balrog, then it opening, Gandalf's word of Command to shut it, then his statement: "the counterspell was terrible!" I'd have to say you can only counterspell a spell. The word of Command was wizardry. Boromir spoke of ordinary command.

he used it against the wargs too, remember? he utter a word of command == spell.

i thought it was some singular word. i'd like to know THAT word. smilies/smile.gif
