Could someone point to me where these characters are mentioned?
Radagast appears in LOTR, but is he mentioned anywhere else?
I prefer chapters, but if all you know is the book, it's fine - any help is welcome.

There is a great essay on the Istari written by Tolkien (it is indeed in the Unfinished Tales). It gives a little more background to these three, plus some really interesting insights into Gandalf and Saruman. It turns out that for some reason, Saruman's contempt for Radagast dates back to his life in Valinor. It's good reading.

Radagast is mentioned briefly in the Sil.

Gandalf also mentions him to Beorn in the Hobbit.
"I am a wizard," continued Gandalf. "I have heard of you, if you have not heard of me; but perhaps you have heard of my good cousin Radagast who lives near the southern borders of Mirkwood?"
"Yes; not a bad fellow as wizards go, I believe. I used to see him now and again," said Beorn.

I also believe that the two blue wizards have about 2 lines in the sil. It just states that they joined evil cults and what not in the south and east of middle earth.

I always wondered if Pallando and Alatar's real mission was to look for the remaining Moriquendi and send them to Aman.
