Wehey....
Quote:

Like any form of magic or war story, the books are incredibly dark. They're primal as well as fantastical, so I think it's important to have a director who has his feet planted in gore and fantasy.
Who is saying it, and what is he/she talking about?

Dark Shadow 01-30-2003 01:26 PM

Well, they're talking about PJ, and I think it's.... umm, Christopher Lee? It sounds to me like something he'd say.

Eruwen 01-30-2003 08:07 PM

I agree with Dark Shadow about the PJ thing, but I think it was Ian...{ahem} Sir Ian McKellen who said it.

Samwise 01-30-2003 09:48 PM

Just to be different, I'll throw in John Rhys-Davies.

Eärendil 01-31-2003 03:51 AM

Nope, not Christopher Lee, Sir Ian McKellen or John Rhys-Davies. Though, the person is indeed talking about Peter Jackson.
Just for your notice, I won´t be able to be on the net this weekend (no computer), so you´ll have to wait till Monday for me. Or if you guess and know you are right, then just continue.

vanwalossien 01-31-2003 07:43 AM

Sir Ian Holm?

Eruwen 01-31-2003 05:19 PM

Orlando Bloom? {Just throwing out people in the dark here.}

luin'loki 01-31-2003 05:57 PM

I think it was Orli Bloom too

luin'loki 01-31-2003 06:00 PM

I think I should just move on.Who said this and to whom?
Quote:

Well,at least I don't *****.And at least i'm going to **** *******.And you can't ***** a *** like I can!*starts cracking up laughing *

Rochelle 01-31-2003 06:07 PM

Who said this?
Quote:

He's twice my size! All he had to do was move an inch and we were lost.
Or maybe this one?

Quote:

"How was the fish?" - "It was alright" - "You didn't like it?" - "It's not how I would have made it" - "How would you have made it?" - "I would have made fish curry" - "Well of course"
Just a couple of things that made me laugh.

NZ Ringbearer 01-31-2003 06:11 PM

Rochelle - the first is Orli about John in a boat, and the second is Viggo talking about him and...I can't remember his name! The scale double, right?

Rochelle 01-31-2003 06:14 PM

*lol* RIght you are! I must be really into the characters when I crack up about all their stories. My favorite (and perhaps it may become my signature soon) is when John Ryhs-Davies is explaning his canoing experience:

Quote:

"It grieves me to say this, but when an elf and a dwarf are in a boat, and the boat capsizes. Let us say that the blame was placed on the dwarf. But let us also say that the dwarf held grim satisfaction when the he heard of another incident involving a boat and the elf."

"Did he really say that was my fault? He is unbelievable man..."

that was hilarious.

Hirilaelin 02-01-2003 12:21 AM

Oh, I love the extended version... *sighs with happiness* I don't have a quote yet, but I am detirmined *cue heroic music* to find one! And find one I will! Wait, I think I have one....
Quote:

"...This is just part of why this movie is so great! We get stuff like this all the time!"
All right, who said it, and what were they talking about? If it is too hard, I'll giuve you a hint. But, I'm sure that you all will know, so....

Diamond18 02-01-2003 12:50 AM

That was Elijah Wood talking about the sunrise. But I'm rather confused as to whose turn it is, people just posted like crazy...

Oh well, that's my answer.

Airerûthiel 02-01-2003 02:13 AM

luin, yours is Orlando Bloom to Viggo Mortensen...am I right?

vanwalossien 02-01-2003 05:49 AM

Why did we move on in the first place? Eärendil will be back on Monday, and the thread has hardly gone stagnant. Wait for your turn folks

Hirilaelin 02-01-2003 11:35 AM

Sorry, we all jut went crazy at the same time.... I'll wait my turn!

~Eruanne

Eärendil 02-03-2003 02:51 AM

My quote is neither Sir Ian Holm nor Orlando Bloom. Keep guessing folks!

vanwalossien 02-03-2003 02:04 PM

Viggo Mortensen?

cannedpoatoe 02-03-2003 03:50 PM

Elijah Wood?

Hirilaelin 02-03-2003 06:42 PM

Hmm... Sean Bean perhaps? (guessing)

Suilad,

~Eruanne

Eruwen 02-03-2003 08:40 PM

Sean Astin!!!!! Lol, I really don't know. I just felt like getting excited on that one.

Samwise 02-03-2003 11:05 PM

John Rhys-Davies? Have I said that? I think I have....

Eärendil 02-04-2003 08:30 AM

No one is right yet....
Oh dear, have I really done it AGAIN?

Rochelle 02-04-2003 08:53 AM

*lol* I know it says "actor's quotes" but could it be Cate Blanchett?

Eruwen 02-04-2003 04:45 PM

FYI: "Actors" in this thread goes to both Actors and Actresses. It is meant in general.

Um...hm...it sounds like someone intellectual. I know, Dominic Monaghan!!!!!

Lol, no really, that's my guess. Oh, and hey Eärendil, I think those hard to guess quotes just come with you don't they?

Hirilaelin 02-04-2003 05:19 PM

Billy Boyd? Liv Tyler? Wait... Andy Serkis? Who?! This is annoying...

Suilad,

~Eruanne

Samwise 02-04-2003 08:17 PM

Oi! Yes, I belive you HAVE done it again!
My guess of the day:
Brad Dourif???

Hirilaelin 02-05-2003 01:29 PM

You've done it again, unless, by blind luck, one of us got it. Well, if we're all stumped, please tell us who said it! Please??

Suilad,

~Eruanne

Eärendil 02-06-2003 05:06 AM

Phew, I was getting worried....
Rochelle got it! It was Cate Blanchett. Pray Proceed.

Rochelle 02-06-2003 08:16 AM

Yay!

Ok this one is a little long...does that make it easier or more difficult? hmmm...well here goes!

Quote:

"The people who were teaching him said he was insanely talented. There's one scene at the end of the first film where a knife is thrown at Aragorn, who clocks it with his sword. One of the stunt guys who was meant to be his double said, 'I've been practicing that and I've never been able to hit the knife once, and Viggo hits it on the first take. I hate him."
Who said this (it's obviously about Viggo..)?

(and when you watch this scene it's amazing...the first try? I agree with the quoter...isanely talented)

Eärendil 02-06-2003 08:48 AM

That would be Miranda Otto. Right?

Rochelle 02-06-2003 11:23 AM

That is correct!

Eärendil 02-06-2003 11:39 AM

Wey....
An easy one now...
Quote:

Strangely enough Stewart I didn't do any when I was at work for some reason it just sorta got forgotten about in that period in my life, eh, although I probably still thought about it but it was a kinda busy time and you know….

Samwise 02-06-2003 04:49 PM

Mmm...Billy Boyd?

Eärendil 02-07-2003 02:44 AM

Yup! I told you it was an easy one.... Go ahead.

Hirilaelin 02-07-2003 09:43 PM

That was EASY?! That looked hard... O.K., now I'm really scared...

Suilad,

~Eruanne

Samwise 02-07-2003 09:58 PM

Oi...I didn't think that was so easy, either...as for my quote....
Quote:

"Elijah is playing Frodo as if he actually were a hobbit caught in these circumstances and dealing with them in the only way that he possibly can--as a hobbit. "
I have a weird feeling that will be easy for some of you, but... Obvious who it's about, who said it?

Hirilaelin 02-08-2003 12:42 AM

Sean Astin perhaps?
