Close! But change the person, and change the thing that they saw.

Salix 08-28-2002 06:36 PM

Melkor the Morgoth 08-29-2002 01:38 PM

Telchar 09-28-2002 04:36 AM

Incorrect - Tilion was a Maia !

merlilot 09-29-2002 07:37 PM

Didn't know that...Sorry.

Eonwe is the only one without an 'L'in his name.

Turambar 09-30-2002 03:41 PM

Eonwë did not follow Oromë ??

Telchar 09-30-2002 04:11 PM

Lothiriel Silmarien 10-01-2002 12:36 PM

Was Galadriel the only one who didn't face a nazgul? I'm not sure if she did or didn't though. Oh well.

Turambar 10-01-2002 12:43 PM

Nope that wasn't it. Good guess though.

alaklondewen 10-01-2002 04:17 PM

I'm taking a stab in the dark, but is Galadriel out because she wasn't faced with the 'voice of Saruman'?

merlilot 10-01-2002 07:27 PM

Off on a limb here: Boromir and Gimli both considered Lothlorien to be perilous/dangerous, so I will guess...

Theoden was the only one who never entered/lived in/whatever Lothlorien.

Turambar 10-01-2002 08:39 PM

alaklondewen-- Are you sure ?

Turambar 10-03-2002 06:51 AM

HINT: alaklondewen is close, but he has the wrong "odd man out".

Telchar 10-03-2002 08:16 AM

Aragorn maybe for never speaking 'to' Saruman?

alaklondewen 10-03-2002 12:08 PM

Okay, unless my mind is failing me and Merry didn't go with the rest to speak with Saruman. (I wish I had my books with me) Is Frodo out? When he spoke with Saruman, his voice was no longer powerful. Am I closer?

Telchar 10-04-2002 01:25 AM

My answer had no response to Saruman, what he said or the power of his voice, just simply the fact that they uttered words to him (Saruman)

Turambar 10-04-2002 07:33 AM

Yes, Telchar has it -- Aragorn never spoke to Saruman. I always found it odd that Aragorn remained silent in "The Voice of Saruman".

Sorry the hint might have been misleading, since it was hearing Saruman, not speaking to him, that was really dangerous. But I thought that no one would get it without some hint.

Telchar 10-04-2002 08:29 AM

ok

Merry
Bilbo
Sam
Frodo
Pippin

... it's a lil tricky...

Legolas 10-04-2002 09:00 AM

This was a hard one!

Sam is their father...he named a child each Frodo, Bilbo, Pippin, and Merry.

(I've already got confirmation.)

Hm...

Glorfindel
Merry
Boromir
Eärnur
Aragorn

Susan Delgado 10-04-2002 10:14 AM

Was Glorfiiindel the only one to have seen the First Age?

Salix 10-04-2002 06:23 PM

Eärnur wasn't involved in the Quest for the Ring in any way?
