if thats right ill cry :(

Rune Son of Bjarne 11-22-2005 03:06 PM

now thats not very nice Gothmog, coming here and stealing Morsuls victory. . .

You are very much correct.

(the stone of elendil could not be used for comunication, but only too look towards Numenor and the undying lands)

Morsul the Dark 11-22-2005 03:08 PM

e-e-e-e-waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

bursts into tears.....oh by the by Rhune your up in Cryptic clues as well you got my clue right

Gothmog 11-22-2005 03:48 PM

I can only apologize! To my defence I must tell you that I didn't see Morsuls last post about the lighthouse (well, it wasn't a lighthouse but probably looked something like one), but still this was mostly thanks to you I guessed it right. But I realized early that "ancient eye" must be a palantir. It was those "three" that confused me... However, here's a new chance for you Morsul. Quite easy I think, and not to well composed I'm afraid. But this is the only thing I could come up with right now:

One of brothers three
A king one can't see
The jewel his doom
Killed in his own room

Good luck! And I hope you can forgive me, Morsul :(

Rune Son of Bjarne 11-23-2005 12:22 PM

Finwë ?

Gothmog 11-23-2005 12:32 PM

That's a very good answer and I see that it fits quite good, but that's not what I had on my mind. The second line is the only one that don't make me think of Finwe now when you say it... But do try again!

Rune Son of Bjarne 11-23-2005 12:34 PM

Thingol

Allthough I cannot remember more than one brother, but I often forget these things.

Gothmog 11-23-2005 01:46 PM

Correct! According to my sources he had two brothers; Olwe and Elmo. We all know of Olwe's fate and Elmo apparently dwelled in Doriath with his brother. I looked it up in the Encyklopedia of Arda to be sure I didn't lie now when you made me unsure :)

Your turn Rune (the Quiz Master ?)

Rune Son of Bjarne 11-23-2005 04:49 PM

Thank you Gothmog, allthough I am flatterd and love the titel, I belive it belongs to NightKnight. . .

Many are my names:slayer, murderer.
The bringer of ruin I am.
I make even sons of the tallest fall

No rimes, no nothing, but I realy could not think of anything.

Rune Son of Bjarne 11-24-2005 01:54 PM

Rune Son of Bjarne 11-29-2005 12:02 PM

Morsul the Dark 11-30-2005 09:08 AM

Saruman....(ca.) means what now?

Beleg 11-30-2005 01:41 PM

Hello,

as a new member, I salute you.

For this quizz, I would say Gothmog.

Rune Son of Bjarne 11-30-2005 03:56 PM

ca. means that they existet allmost in the same period of time = 2. and 3. age

and your both wrong.

Roa_Aoife 11-30-2005 05:03 PM

I don't suppose it could be as simple as the One Ring?

Elu Ancalime 02-01-2006 08:31 PM

Ba ba ba ba ba, ba BUMP

I would guess the Ring, but Roa's got it, i would just like to continue the quiz.

Beauty is in me,
But I'm not for vanity's sake.

Roa_Aoife 02-15-2006 11:57 AM

No guesses?

Oh dear, is it too difficult? Is a hint needed?

JennyHallu 02-15-2006 12:05 PM

Galadriel's Mirror would be my guess, but I don't have another at hand.

Roa_Aoife 02-16-2006 07:48 AM

Well, that wasn't hard at all!

Take it away Jenny. :D

JennyHallu 02-21-2006 12:57 PM

Sorry for the delay: Will develop and post a riddle tonight.

JennyHallu 02-21-2006 10:01 PM

The work of Elven smiths, twice,
It is on the cutting edge.

Gil-Galad 02-21-2006 10:55 PM

that could be Anduril... but Narsil was forged by Telchar(dwarf) at first then reforged by elves into Anduril

JennyHallu 02-22-2006 07:09 AM

well I meant it for Anduril. Forgive my ignorance. Told you I didn't have one in mind...your thread Gil!
