Morsul the Dark 09-23-2005 09:48 AM

hookbill our good friend said this

it was in "the future of the downs" it was reffering to a fake newspaper in which gil-galad killed the phantom

Rune Son of Bjarne 09-23-2005 02:49 PM

Your thread

yes

I felt a great joy reading it.

(not becouse of the murder, but becouse it was funny)

Gil-Galad 09-23-2005 05:11 PM

That newspaper was fake! you gotta be kidding me... i thought i finnally killed The Phantom.... well have fun with your turn Morsul

Morsul the Dark 09-24-2005 09:12 AM

this one may require some digging

The environment seems nice, so I will start posting around.

Nilpaurion Felagund 09-28-2005 07:14 AM

Errr, Morsul.

A clue? I can't seem to find this one anywhere.

Glirdan 10-03-2005 03:37 PM

*Pokes Morsul in the head* Anybody home? You have one more day before someone takes over. But I really can't find this one and I'd like to know who it is.

Firefoot 10-03-2005 03:53 PM

I haven't wanted to post here because I finally got tired of looking and used a search engine... I had the thread right (Newcomers, Introduce Yourself Here); it was some obscure member with 2 posts on the sixth page.

I don't think Morsul's been around for a while; I'd say anyone can go.

Well, I wouldn't call that strictly fair...I did try searching Novices and Newcomers, but I was searching from the end backwards, and as you can imagine it got a little tiresome...

Firefoot, you technically found it, although we shall have to take your word for it that you are right - I'd say that the next go is therefore yours.

Sleepy Ranger 10-04-2005 11:59 AM

You must mean Anilorak, post #202 on page 6 of the Introduction Thread... :)

Firefoot 10-04-2005 02:24 PM

Yes, that was him/her. Aman, I had originally tried doing the same thing. It wasn't working, and I realized that I was going fast enough that I was likely to miss it anyway.

So here's what should be a relatively easy one to get us going again:
Quote:

If we killed all the weird people, the human race would cease to exist

Glirdan 10-04-2005 03:55 PM

Why that was dear old Perky Ent who said it in the "Do we realize how crazy we are?" thread.

Firefoot 10-04-2005 07:59 PM

Yup.

Glirdan 10-04-2005 08:01 PM

Thanks

You might have to a little digging for this one.

Quote:

I wonder if Gandalf could have received his power-up without dying. Given that the primary reason for it was Saruman's treachery and that it came direct from Eru, I don't see why not ...
Go for it!!

mormegil 10-04-2005 08:14 PM

I remember that quote and I want to test myself by not looking. I believe that it was Alatar that said that.

Edit:

I was wrong it was SpM here in the thread "If they still had Gandalf"

Glirdan 10-04-2005 08:20 PM

That was fast!!!

Wow!!! Good one morm!!! You're thread!!!

mormegil 10-04-2005 11:10 PM

Thanks I remembered that thread rather well and enjoyed it so it came easily to me.

I hate to sound, well, ignorant but what ignorance are you talking about?
Have at it my mates.

mormegil 10-10-2005 08:12 AM

*bump*

Do you need any hints to get you on the path?

the guy who be short 10-10-2005 10:48 AM

That sounds like a very Feanor thing to say.

mormegil 10-10-2005 11:02 AM

That is not correct my short friend.

Gil-Galad 10-10-2005 03:19 PM

Alatar? it sounds awfuly familiar

mormegil 10-10-2005 03:21 PM

Nope it's under movies...that's a good hint to get you going.

Eomer of the Rohirrim 10-15-2005 08:14 AM

Well, since no-one else is biting I might as well claim that quote as my own, Mormegil. ;)

I remember that was the first time I ever spoke to Holbytlass. A fine occasion, if I may say so. :)

mormegil 10-15-2005 09:02 AM

You are correct and it was either the first or one of the first major discussions I was in and rather enjoyed it, even though you and I didn't see eye to eye on the issue.

Eomer of the Rohirrim 10-15-2005 10:16 AM

It was a pretty good thread, if I may say so myself. :D

Try this one for size, one of my all-time favourite Barrow-Downs quotes:

"...and now your fangéd triumvirate can name them as suspects to deflect attention from yourselves!"

An easy one, perhaps; but worthy.

Glirdan 10-15-2005 10:29 AM

That looks like it was part of one of the Werewolf games. The only problem will be trying to find which one. If I'm right that is.....

the guy who be short 10-15-2005 11:09 AM

Without checking, which condemns me to being wrong, that sounds Fordimesque.

Mithalwen 10-15-2005 11:38 AM

There are downers who are diligent enough to use accents and alas I am not one of them!!! But Son of Numenor has one on his "u" ..and he said this in Werewolf 2, Post 64

Eomer of the Rohirrim 10-15-2005 02:43 PM

Mithalwen is correct. Your turn, m'lady. :)

Mithalwen 10-16-2005 11:51 AM

Thank you kind sir..

They listen to Bach and do cross-stitch.

Try this.... :D

Mithalwen 10-26-2005 01:11 PM

Anyway they aren't into that crude physical stuff. Uruk-Hai are civilised! They listen to Bach and do cross-stitch.

10 days on, I wonder if a longer quote will tempt anyone to try?

Boromir88 11-03-2005 07:33 AM

I know I've seen that but don't hold names or memory too well. :p

I'll say Squatter of Amon Ruhd.

Gil-Galad 11-03-2005 08:03 AM

hmmm maybe Gurthang?

Mithalwen 11-10-2005 01:33 PM

Neither .... he doesn't post so much alas but what he does is always good value (not implying that that is not true of those you have mentioned).

mormegil 11-10-2005 01:50 PM

Drigel?

Boromir88 11-10-2005 02:04 PM

Ahh, I was thinking drigel, but just in case I'll say...

Son of Numenor?

Mithalwen 11-10-2005 02:36 PM

Nope squared

Boromir88 11-10-2005 02:53 PM

Umm...Formendacil

Sleepy Ranger 11-10-2005 03:03 PM

I know this is going to be totally wrong but if I recall correctly I read a topic a few years ago where someone made a note of civillized uruk-hai (or maybe orcs), I believe the username was something Silverleaf or Leafsilver. I don't think that member is active anymore.

mormegil 11-10-2005 03:04 PM

We can safely assume, by the awful spelling of civilised, that he is not American.

I'm not sure if he is or not but I'll say

Arry.

if not do you have little hint for me? ;)

Gil-Galad 11-10-2005 11:52 PM

hmmm... i think its one of our fair barrow-Damsels...

Eowyn Skywalker perhaps?

or maybe Maegedgallial(sp of course)
