Gil-Galad 09-23-2006 12:15 PM

That could be many things... Melkor

Gothmog 09-24-2006 10:40 AM

The White makes me think of either Gandalf or Saruman. According to the movies, couldn't one say that Saruman the White gave life to the Uruk Hai, definitely dark beings/things?

Not the best of guesses, but I have to think a bit more to come up with something better...

ninja91 09-24-2006 02:57 PM

You are both right. I had Saruman and the Uruks in mind, but I did not think of Melkor!

Gil-Galad 09-24-2006 07:40 PM

Well pick one of us then to shoot out the next question

ninja91 09-25-2006 05:29 AM

Gil, you seem to have one in mind... :p ;)

Gothmog 09-25-2006 05:38 AM

You can have it, Gil... You answered first and as Ninja said, you seem to have one in mind :) For me, it would take days to come up with something that I'd like to post here...

Gil-Galad 09-25-2006 08:21 AM

thanks, i shall bring back my old one that nobody at all attempted to anwser

left, right, left
used for death, and for tools
left, right, left
after me comes my head

remember, its a dwarf, and think, what does "left, right, left" apply to?

Rune Son of Bjarne 09-25-2006 09:12 AM

Dáin II Ironfoot ?

Gil-Galad 09-25-2006 04:33 PM

i made it too easy for you rune... but explain why you think its Dain Ironfoot!

Rune Son of Bjarne 09-25-2006 04:38 PM

Well, the left, right part is of course reffering to feet.

Iron is used for weapons aka death and for making tools.

The last part I could never figure out, that is why I did not guess the first time.

Gil-Galad 09-25-2006 04:41 PM

the last part refers to his some, Thorin Stonehelm, you can figure out the rest...

Rune Son of Bjarne 09-28-2006 07:47 AM

I cannot think of anything, so it has to be something ridicules.

Joy with an unknown past, that not even the great can rule.

ninja91 09-29-2006 05:24 AM

How about... Tom Bombadil?

Rune Son of Bjarne 09-29-2006 06:03 AM

Of course it is, sorry I could think of no better.

ninja91 09-29-2006 12:28 PM

Score 2 for the ninja. How about this...

I saw my master, but not his successor. You can see my prey, but only ab the domen.

sounds goofy, but pretty easy.

ninja91 10-01-2006 02:03 PM

need a hint? it's daughter lives near her master's apprentice.

Gil-Galad 10-01-2006 05:22 PM

random guess...Turgon

ninja91 10-02-2006 12:30 PM

Nope. Another hint: think jumanji. or do you want the answer?

ninja91 10-04-2006 05:21 AM

The answer is... *********!
Last hint. My next post will be.... THE ANSWER :D

Farael 10-04-2006 08:23 AM

Well, it doesn't quite fit the number of stars in there, but I'll take a crack at it anyway... is it Samwise? I'm fairly sure it's wrong, but since there are no other ideas...

Gothmog 10-04-2006 09:25 AM

How about Ungoliant? The master=Morgoth, his successor aka apprentice=Sauron. The daughter=Shelob. I dont' quite get the "ab the domen"-part, but it may hint about the abdomen...

ninja91 10-04-2006 12:31 PM

Correct! now, to clear something up: you can see my prey, but only ab the domen. as in you could see her dead prey at her abdomen.
Do you have one in mind?

Gothmog 12-14-2006 01:12 PM

Sorry I'm late!

Oh, sorry, I just noticed that I was the reason this thread died! I'll get you a new one, but I can't guarantee the quality of it... Here it goes:

Two legs left
One all right
Befriended with him whose fate
was dark as the night

Pretty easy, I think. Good luck!

Gil-Galad 12-14-2006 05:14 PM

Hmmm... keeps making me think of Gothmog because in the film hs is shown having a limp in his leg, plus he was alligned with the Witch-King...

Sorry, that's not it... It's more of a book-riddle than a movie-riddle. Plus, it would be a bit too obvious if I gave you a riddle with the answer Gothmog :) Not that I'm in any way related to that 3rd age scum ;) Keep guessing!

Gil-Galad 12-15-2006 04:40 PM

Book-wise eh???

well i got To Beleg mainly for the last to verses cause they relate to Turin.

mhagain 12-15-2006 05:20 PM

Must be Sador (Labadal), from the Narn.

Legate of Amon Lanc 12-16-2006 04:29 AM

Or Brandir, but he was not Túrin's friend, actually...

Gothmog 12-17-2006 12:05 PM

Correct! And Legate, I didn't think of Brandir until you mentioned him, but he almost fits too... But Sador is the correct answer, the thread is yours mhagain!

mhagain 12-17-2006 04:26 PM

Thank you sir!

This one's either dead easy or really hard:

At the end of the third
I was there with no word
The last of my kin

When the last ship it sailed
On the grey shores I stayed
They never saw me again

And I'm still here today
But i'm keeping away
From all the strife and the din!

The Might 12-17-2006 05:01 PM

Cirdan perhaps

mhagain 12-18-2006 03:31 AM

Not Cirdan, but I can see how he fits in with most of it.

Gothmog 12-18-2006 09:47 AM

Makes me think of Arwen. But at the same time I get the feeling that I'm not thinking wide enough...

mhagain 12-18-2006 10:35 AM

Not Arwen either, she wasn't the last of her kin.

The Might 12-18-2006 12:33 PM

I have an idea

It might be Durin VII

He was there at the end of the third Thorin (descendant of Thorin III Stonehelm)
He was the last Durin
The Elves didn't see him again
And as some creatures in ME believe, Dwarves return to stone after their death, explaining the last verses

Gil-Galad 12-18-2006 01:08 PM

Radagast even maybe?

mhagain 12-18-2006 01:16 PM

All good guesses, and decent matches, but not who I was thinking of, sorry.

The Might 12-18-2006 02:05 PM

Tom Bombadil
still, I'd guess he was the only one of his kin as well

mhagain 12-18-2006 03:00 PM

Not Tom either, sorry. Hints anyone?

Legate of Amon Lanc 12-18-2006 03:02 PM

Treebeard?!??? (okay we are at the point of making up nonsenses now)
