I'll let you have that one again– see question 10.

skip spence 06-13-2008 09:49 AM

Ah yes, the Calaquendi are the elves of Aman, aren't they? :o

Was he of the Green Elves or the Nandor then?

Nerwen 06-13-2008 09:55 AM

12. No.

skip spence 06-13-2008 10:14 AM

Did he ever come to Gondolin?

Tuor in Gondolin 06-13-2008 11:10 AM

Is he Maeglin?

Eönwë 06-13-2008 12:44 PM

Is it Eöl?

Nerwen 06-13-2008 10:41 PM

Is it Eöl? Yes.

Well done, Eönwë!

Nilpaurion Felagund 06-16-2008 02:19 AM

Eönwë?

Eönwë 06-16-2008 12:02 PM

I don't have much time, so I'll pass it on to whoever wants it.

Tuor in Gondolin 06-16-2008 03:36 PM

I'm ready. First question is...?

Nilpaurion Felagund 06-16-2008 05:28 PM

Is it alive?

Tuor in Gondolin 06-16-2008 05:38 PM

#1 Is it alive?

Nope.

Nilpaurion Felagund 06-16-2008 06:05 PM

Is it tangible?

Tuor in Gondolin 06-16-2008 06:43 PM

#2 Is it tangible?

Good question. I'd say No.

Nilpaurion Felagund 06-16-2008 07:27 PM

Interessant . . .

Was it created?

Tuor in Gondolin 06-16-2008 08:57 PM

#3 Was it created?

Somewhat difficult to answer, certainly not as a yes
or no answer. I'd say "it" isn't created as such,
although it's particular existence in the "story" is
related to some creation. (Ooh, that sounds oracular
enough to be at Delphic)! And when the answer is
revealed, rather mundane.

TheGreatElvenWarrior 06-16-2008 08:58 PM

Is it round?

Nilpaurion Felagund 06-16-2008 09:00 PM

So it's not a law, nor a music, nor a tale (the written account, ich meine) . . .

Hmmm, did it exist during, say, the First Age?

Tuor in Gondolin 06-16-2008 10:45 PM

So it's not a law, nor a music, nor a tale (the written account, ich meine) . . .
Correct.

#4 Hmmm, did it exist during, say, the First Age?
No. Not during the First Age.

Nerwen 06-16-2008 10:56 PM

Did it exist during the Second Age?

Nilpaurion Felagund 06-17-2008 02:38 AM

Stab!

The Flame Imperishable? :D

Tuor in Gondolin 06-17-2008 08:23 AM

#5 Did it exist during the Second Age?

No.

#6 The Flame Imperishable?

No.

Eönwë 06-17-2008 02:34 PM

Tom Bombadil?

Tuor in Gondolin 06-17-2008 03:44 PM

#6 Tom Bombadil?

Nope.

I'd say it's too soon for specific guesses.

Nilpaurion Felagund 06-17-2008 11:46 PM

Did this ethereal 'it' come into contact with any of the Valar?

Tuor in Gondolin 06-18-2008 08:09 AM

#7
No.

And a clarification: the "it" is rather
pedestrian, and while insubstantial,
is tangible. Sorry for possible confusion,
but I'm trying to be accurate without
giving too much away.
(Hint, granted a tiny one) Hmm, not in the
First or Second Age,so what Age
could it be?

Nilpaurion Felagund 06-18-2008 10:22 PM

I see . . .

So it could be in the Third Age, Fourth Age, or the time before the Ages. :p

Is it, perhaps, a wind of some sort?

The Deeps of time?

Tuor in Gondolin 06-19-2008 07:17 AM

#8

Not a wind as such, but you're on the right track.
You might say it can be wind assisted.
====================================

#9 The Deeps of time?
No. Much more mundane.

Nilpaurion Felagund 06-19-2008 06:57 PM

The spirit of Saruman?

Tuor in Gondolin 06-19-2008 08:38 PM

#9
The spirit of Saruman?

Nope. But you are correct
that it's in the Third Age.

Nilpaurion Felagund 06-19-2008 08:49 PM

The spirit of Sauron, then?

Or am I barking at[sic] the wrong tree? Rarf!

Tuor in Gondolin 06-19-2008 08:57 PM

No. Way off. It's tangible. Try to narrow it down (by area, time,
or person?).

Nerwen 06-19-2008 09:48 PM

*cough*

Tuor, may I draw your attention to this:

Quote:

Tuor in Gondolin 06-20-2008 08:18 AM

Okay. I give up.
The subject was Fili's
being tortured by the smell of apples.

Quote:

I hope I never smell the smell of apples again!
To smell apples everlastingly when you can scarcely
move and are cold and sick with hunger is maddening.
I could eat anything in the wide world now, for hours
on end- but not an apple!
Someone else please take over.

Nerwen 06-20-2008 09:03 AM

How. Could. Anyone. Possibly. Get. That?

Nerwen
has a point.

Nilpaurion Felagund 06-27-2008 07:16 AM

Precious.

Praps we need to set some limits?

Answers limited to four words, or two nounsss, praps?

OMG. You seriously hafta be kidding... Wind assisted.. but makes sense anyway, now that I've seen the answer. T_T

Beregond 12-15-2008 10:46 PM

Tuor's incredibly imaginative answer has rather killed the thread I'm afraid, but it's a fun game so lets start again!

I'm think of something (and it's not as creative as the last). Read my mind!
